People who thought the call was bogus (as in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey): Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Lou Holtz, Rece Davis, Mark May, 80,000 people at Husky Stadium, almost all of the people who have commented here, and 49 out of the 50 states according to an ESPN College Gameday Final poll last night during the 9pm show. Guess what was the only state to vote differently? Hint: Rhymes a little with "boy this is some lovely baklavah."

And that's all I'm going to say about the game yesterday because if I think about it anymore I'm gonna throw my computer out of my window, only to realize that I live in a basement and have no windows, which means said computer's momentum would be stopped by a cement wall and discompartmentalize into fractional pieces of its previous form, all of which I would have to pick up and dispose of - an act that I do not have time for today because I will be watching football.

Also, reports are the Shaun Alexander might be employed again as soon as Week 2. He has been in contact with numerous teams, including the Bengals, while working out at UW with speed coach Joe Gentry. Good old Montlake. I wonder if Jake could beat him in the 40.... running backwards?

Speaking of Two-a-Days, remember that girl Brittany that was pretty much the hottest girl ever and was dating that toolbag Mark? I'm sure you do. Anyways, here are some pictures in case you've forgotten. God bless America, and the chicks that are bred in the South. I believe they are called "belles" or "barrels of hay" or "sandwich artists" or something, though I could be wrong.

We have two vehicles. One is a van that, while it requires more gas, keeps the anarchists separated in the back. The car, very fuel efficient, keeps them in close vicinity to each other.

Here is a snippet of what will come out of your mouth if you go on a "green" road trip with 3 kids all wedged in tightly for the sake of reducing your carbon footprint. Screw the rainforest, I'm not doing this again:

"I said STOP LICKING HER WALLET."

"If that egg breaks in the cupholder, so help me god!!!"

"No, your sister did not intentionally make her foot closest to you smell the stinkiest, so please stop harrassing her about it."

"Take one for the team and let him smack you with his truck. PLEASE. It keeps him happy, OK???"

"No, I can't assemble Playmobile right now. I AM DRIVING."

"This is not really a good time to talk to me about how Herbal Essences makes your hair feel."

"I know it would make the trip easier for you, but it is illegal. We can't leave her at home for 2 days--she is only 8."

"Why are your brother and his carseat under 2 inches of water?"

I've noticed that everything I've posted was pretty much unattainable, monetarily (at least for me). I think that's what makes magazines only fun to look at, but leave you wishing that you were like this celebrity or that one - nothing seems realistic! So here goes, my looks for less. Everything shown here can be purchased on lulus.com - an amazinggg online shop that sells clothing, accessories, and shoes at reasonable (and by reasonable, I mean pretty darn good) prices!

You all may have heard of Kenneth Jay Lane; only recently his designs have gained popularity amongst celebrities like Hilary Duff, who accessorize with his unique enamel bangles with crystal details in the shapes of exotic animals. The pieces are truly beautiful; I have been coveting them for quite some time, only, unwilling to part with the some $400 required to make his bracelets my own. But good news! lulus.com has bracelets just like KJL, only at (drumroll, please) an amazing price of $16!! =) Get one or two & stack them up! After all, this season's all about the statement jewelry. Add these bracelets to a monochromatic outfit for a pop of color and a unique look!

While we're on the topic of animal inspired jewelry, Cartier had a collection of stunning panther/lion rings. It was a while back, but bring back those gorgeous pieces with this bold, crystal encrusted ring (also from lulus.com) at an unbelievable price of $14 versus that of a couple, say, thousand! If you decide to wear such bold cocktail rings, try to limit the number of rings you wear to just that piece; too much will be overwhelming and may look a little tack. Opt for simple jewelry; a thin, simple bangle or chain on the wrists and a small pendant around the neck is fine; but remember, balance is key!

Stella McCartney is one of my favorite designers of all time; everything she creates is wearable, feminine, beautifully constructed, and so elegant! The downside? The price tag (that seems to be the issue with most cases...). One of my favorite pieces for her Spring Collection was this ruffle trim blouse in the daintiest corally pink; a little less ruffles would have made it even better, but, nonetheless, I loved it. Lulu's has a great mini dress much like Stella's in a gorgeous taupe with less ruffles and an affordable price! Due to its satin-like sheen, this dress is perfect for cocktail hour or for a more formal evening occasion. Pair it with pumps, grap a clutch, pull your hair into a chignon and you are ready to go!

Victoria Beckham's closet is very much enviable; her style is much sought after, and her endless collections of designer labels are highly coveted (such as the two million dollar Hermes Birkin collection!) The majority of us, however, don't have the luxury to spend so ravishly (though we all dream of it) - which is why a look for less is makes us all happy: we're still stylish, and our wallets still full. I love the simplicity and girliness of this dress Victoria wears; it's chic and perfect to just throw on and run out! I found a similar dress in beige on lulus.com; it's a bit pricey for some, but in comparison to the hundreds or thousands Mrs. Beckham spent, $62 seems like nothing! I'm not too fond of the oxfords paired with the dress, as shown in the picture from the site - it just doesn't work for me. I would suggest pairing it with pointy-toed pumps; the sharp lines from the shoe will contrast the smoother lines and silouhette of the sleeve.

Here are a couple of other picks that I adore!

I love the sweetness of this dress; it's girly, with a mini hemline and flutter sleeves and in a delicious raspberry color. Yet when you turn around, it's a little surprise - a keyhole gives a peek of skin for that demure sexiness. The silouhette is fabulous as well; the boxy fit hides the tummy whilst excentuating the chest (yes!). Modestly sexy...it's the way to go!

I'm not exactly sure why I'm in love with these Jeffrey Campbell heels; I know they're a bit odd to most, but something about the gladiator-like straps look so stunning! The more I look at it, the more I want it. The vintage-wash gold gives a nice metallic sheen without being obnoxiously reflective. How to wear it? I'm picturing it with medium wash skinny jeans, a v-neck American Apparel tee in white, and camel colored leather bag (think loose hobos/satchels) to match the wooden heel, and piles of chains (as seen on the runway, just not as bulky). Perhaps top it off with a black fedora? These shoes are also found at Urban Outfitters, but UO has them at $125 - it's cheaper at lulus! I'm also quite in love with the leopard print wallet...just because I love leopard print (though it can be quite tacky in some cases) and because my vintage Gucci wallet feels like it is just about to burst.

Shop Name: The Inheritance Collection

Blog/Website: www.inheritance.etsy.com

A little bit about:
I am an indie designer of handmade fashion accessories. Using my gift of sewing, I create vinyl wallets, key rings, ID holders, etc. I love using vinyl because of the ease of its handle. The texture is leathery without dealing with the stiffness of leather. I also have the gift of beading which I hope to use and incorporate into future projects.

What do you sell that would appeal to the guys?
I sell vinyl wallets, key rings, and id holders. These items are very practical, yet stylish with a unique urban look that appeals to today's males. I also want to tap into the traditional "manly man" who wants function without the flash. I am always seeking ways to capture these audiences.

Where do you sell your stuff?
Buyers can purchase from me at: www.inheritance.etsy.com

How long have you been in business?
Last year I created bow ties and cuff link sets. Now I am expanding into a broader market to include items for the younger male as well. I just introduced my product line of wallets this year.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430" caption="ID / Card Holder - SALE "][/caption]

How did you get started?
I got started as a need to create. The creative passion drives me to design something, even if I don't know what the end result will be.I just can't resist the passion -because that's what designers do. They design.

How do you get the word out about your shop?
I promote on Etsy, by word of mouth, and in the CAST Street Team in our Yahoo Group.

What's your creative process?
I usually ponder for a while, look for examples of items similar to what I want to make, and then make a prototype. My prototype might first be made out of card stock to see how everything will fold or lineup. I might make a pattern for it. Sometimes, if I think I can jump right in and make it, I will cut and sew a sample without making a pattern. It just depends on what it is and how hard it is to make.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430" caption="Brown Wallet with Red and Navy Stripe"][/caption]

What do you want people to know about your work?
I create items that are versatile, functional, and vivid. The use of color and texture are uniquely combined. It's a combination I haven't seen anywhere else. In addition, some of my items are custom and can be personalized with a monogram. I also have gift sets available that make the perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding groomsmen, graduation, Christmas, Valentine's or Father's Day. Hopefully, I can help make shopping FOR HIM an easier experience.

Anything else you'd like us to know?
I hope to develop a larger assortment of items to include vinyl cases for iPods and gadgets, business card holders, jewelry, pouches, bags, t-shirts and more wallet designs.

Well, death co. seems to be a happenin' place and so the guy at the door said to leave my name and number and he'd call me when a seat at the bar opened up. Lovely.

I go to an Irish pub a few blocks away and wait. Ringring. I go out to to death and it starts pouring cats and dogs. Terrible. Get there soaked. Drink delicious cocktails[*****], leave a bit drunk since I hadn't eaten much that day.

Shouldhave gone home, but instead it was about 1230 and my coworkers were getting out of work, so it being my Friday night I stayed out. Long story short.. Was fucking loaded and lost my wallet. I got in a cab and decided to be semi-smart and see how much cash I had. Luckily I realized early on that I didn't have my wallet. But, I did have my metro card. I tell the cabbie, sorry man, blahblahblah. drops me off asap, and I don't know how I did it, but I found a train that went to my apt, ended up passing out and missed my stop. Get off at the next stop and don't know where the fuck I am. It's 330 and I'm loaded, lost and now running like a gazelle to get home.

Side note: Running when you're drunk is a m a z i n g . You can run so fast and so easily it's awesome. I'm not a puker so for me, I can book it. OH and I had to pee like a racehorse, which may have been the enabler.

So I finally got home some how, strip down to nothing and jump into bed. I awake to my roommate getting ready for work, my door is open so the ac air can come in and with the covers half off! ah. That's a tad embarrassing.

1pm comes, I get an email saying someone messaged me on facebook.. It read, 'Did you lose your wallet?'

AHHH, Yes!!! So facebook is amazing for finding people when they lose their wallet.

Finally, I’m done talking about myself for a little while. Reboot is a great little company I found in the “shop local” section on etsy. I love love LOVE Alicia’s recycled wallets — they’re made from vintage cowboy boots! I believe she’s looking into retail locations in south-central Wisconsin, I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check her out here.

Today I was in the library, and on my way to lunch I went to the bathroom. Sitting on a shelf above

Today I was in the library, and on my way to lunch I went to the bathroom. Sitting on a shelf above the throne was a wallet. I picked it up and checked it out. I.D in the flap section from an Asian student. About $300 in it. That's quite a lot of money.

This leaves me with something to contemplate while I do my business. Do I take the wallet, take the money and chuck the wallet in the bin somewhere? Pretty risk-free exercise, free $300. Do I take the wallet, take the money and hand just the wallet in at lost property? Win-win situation. The student doesn't waste a week canceling cards and getting new ones, I get $300. Consider the money a fee. Perhaps slightly more risk, but still pretty safe in the scheme of things. Do I hand the wallet in contents in tact? Above-board play by me, but what's to say the librarians won't just flog the money? Do I just put the wallet back on the shelf and have nothing to do with it?

The Cost/Benefit Debate (If you're lazy, skip to the conclusion)

If I believed in Santa (or god) it would follow that I was under constant surveillance and there was a magic ledger which would score -300 points if I took the money. Fortunately I don't think that anyone is watching me when I'm on the throne, so I don't have access to an easy answer.

Generally my approach to moral calculations is to do a cost-benefit but stack, perhaps artificially, the return I get from being nice to those close to me. So if I go to a mate's place and spend a weekend helping him paint, it may have 'cost' me a weekend but it's 'benefited' me a deeper relationship with my friend. The value of friendship is huge.

Problem here is that it's a stranger. A stranger relatively distant from me, assuming he's an overseas student. And the risk is much lower than your average crime. In rational criminal activity people weigh the magnitude of punishment against the probability of being caught. So most people don't drink drive because it'll land you before a magistrate if you're caught or bankrupt if you stack into a Ferrari. Drink driving is pretty bad news. Whereas many people do speed because the bill is only a few bucks and your insurance will probably pay-out if you stack.

The next lever is 'social cache'. If I take $300 and announce to people I know 'I took $300' they'd think I was a serious douche. That's bad. But naturally I could take the money without saying a word. Needless to say I wouldn't be posting here if I had $300 in my wallet. The problem is that losing social cache is a lot easier than gaining it. I.e. if I give the wallet in tact to the library front desk, and then announce to my friends (and readers) that I returned $300, they'll probably also think I'm a douche for blowing my own trumpet.

Conclusion - Choose your own adventure morality

So what I'm doing is shifting the moral problem. I returned the money and I'm blowing my own trumpet. If you read this (or my facebook status) and think 'Greg's a dick because he's being vocal about returning the money' then it follows I did the wrong thing by returning the money and you only have yourself to blame. If, on the other hand, you think 'hey, that Greg guy is a good bloke' then I did the right thing and you have yourself to thank! We'll call it 'choose-your-own-adventure morality'.

Every women needs a wallet. Once again we are absolutely spoiled for choice. There are wallets available in every color conceivable, the amounts of styles and sizes are also incredible. How do you choose? I suppose it depends how much time you have and how much you care about the designer, the color, the style or the size.

Some women like a checkbook wallet, others like a credit card holder or a coin purse. You might like one with a zip around it or with a shoulder strap. The more decisive you are the easier the choice will be and if you only wear a particular designer then it will be even easier for you.

Most wallets are hidden in your handbag anyway, and some handbags come with a matching wallet. If you can, choose real authentic leather, That way it will last a long time and you wont have to think about buying a new one for quite a time.

I hate wallets. This is not only due to the fact that mine is always empty, but mainly because I hate carrying it around. The classic leather wallet filled to the brim with cards, useful and useless, along with every other piece of paper that finds its way in there, just wasn't working anymore. It was 6 feet thick and weighed 345 pounds, so I killed it.

Behold, the new wallet: It contains a handful of cards I use and need...and that's it. It's glorious. Why didn't I do this sooner?

The world we live in has become virtually dependent on cards. My Father made a comment the other day that life in Dubai society in particular is obsessed with cards. I thought a little about this and it rings true. I had a look in my wallet and did a quick review:

That is a lot! While I certainly don’t use all of them on a daily basis I know the moment I put some in a “safe place” I will either need it or end up losing it.

On top of this the UAE Government is implementing a National Identity Card system for expatriates starting in 2010 with UAE nationals able to get cards now. Personally I am in favour of Identity cards – it clarifies for all, age limits of purchase of things such as alcohol, cigarettes and I would hope it will reduce Identity fraud for example in credit card usage.

I think I might need a bigger wallet soon to store them all and some form of leash for it, as losing it would end up taking days of visiting various establishments to get replacements.

I received a request last week for a custom wallet. The customer wanted it for fall, and she really loved the oilcloth. After toying with a few ideas, and figuring out some measurements, this is what I came up with:

[caption id="attachment_20" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="my new design, in all of its fall-y glory!"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_21" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="the wallet's backside"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_22" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="action shot!"][/caption]

I was pretty jazzed with how it turned out. I usually have to make at least 3 prototypes before I come up with anything that looks halfway decent. This one just flowed and everything came out exactly how it was supposed to. It will be years before I get that lucky again! Anyway, I hope the customer likes it.

So, I loved this design so much that I'm planning on putting it in my line of accessories. I have dubbed it the Katherine wallet. I'm still stuck on the pricing, though. Not quite sure yet what to charge for it. What do you all think?

The human brain is an amazing thing. It can do more than we probably know. One thing i do know, is that the brain knows when 4 years of college were completed. And it knew as i walked to class for the first day of my 5th year that i should not be there. It knew this whole thing should have been done. Pollock road, 40 gagillion people, class, faking paying attention. It know. It was surreal.

All that aside, i do love it here. I can easily put up with classes for another year if it means i can partake in all the other greatness. the people, the fellowship, the growing, the football, the general gloriousness. I mentioned before that i am pumped for worship team. To expand, i am super pumped for ACF in general. This is going to be the biggest year we have had since i came to Penn State. The leadership here at ACF is incredible. As i was looking around the ACF exec retreat, i realized how many awesome, dependable, hard working, faith based, Christ Committed, people were on exec. I am not only blessed, but also honored to be here another year and to be a part of that team. Keith Hodge is the best president ever. or at least he will be. Kyle Horst, aka Bravo, is an awesome guy and his dedication to putting the bible studies together was really cool. both adam jepson and Ben roberts are like the poster children for why their class is so awesome. ACF will be a great place to serve, be filled up, feel welcome, and everything else the Lord needs to do this year. I know it.

Few random things: met the coolest guy ever. An asian-Australian named Alex. He is in my finance class and is on an exchange program. thick Australian accent. Really cool guy. Say hi if you see him or hear him.

and just to mention bummer happenings, my wallet is either lost or stolen. judging on my lack of faith and trust in mankind, i am going with stolen. So replacing everything will be fun. They have my social security number so it's like i'm really starting a new life!

Cool lyric to reflect on:"This is a place for the broken. This is the hope of the world...Here in this place mercy is flowing. Here in this place is the glory of God. All things are new in the presence of Jesus, Father we stand amazed...Here in this place"

God hit me with that today, and a lot over the past few days. It was powerful for me. This place can be any where. a church service, the car ride home, your bed room alone, in your deepest sorrow and regret, or when you don't even want to talk to God. This place is Penn State. In the midst of the lowest of lows, of the number three party school, mercy is flowing and the glory of God will not be held back. All things are new. Not after long thought or multiple prayers of repentance. The second after you think you failed, you were made new by the cross. we stand amazed Father, at what you will do in this Place, what you will do at Penn State. Think Big. Because this is the place for the broken and yet gives sooo much hope...
