<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lebaran  masih lama. Puasa  pun - insya Allah - masih  11 hari lagi. Tapi, biar  lebaran  masih lama,  saya langsung teringat  pada  rumah  tangga  yang    dtinggal   pembantunya  mudik  saat lebaran tiba.  </p>
<p>Itu  gara-gara sms yang dikirim  kakak saya.  "Ada  pembantu  dr Sumedang,  gaji  250,  mau gak loe? Kl mau ntar gua  bawa  sklian ke jkt".</p>
<p>Sudah cukup lama saya, yang hidup sebatang kara,   tak punya  pembantu. Untung rumah yang saya  tempati  kecil, jadi <em>nggak</em> repot mengurusnya. Segalanya saya kerjakan sendiri. </p>
<p>Sebenarnya    kehadiran pembantu    saya  perlukan juga, khususnya  untuk  kebersihan rumah.  Tapi  menerima pembantu untuk saat ini  kurang tepat    karena       paling-paling mereka kerja sebulan. Lalu, menjelang lebaran, mudik  ke kampung dan tak ada jaminan dia akan kembali lagi.</p>
<p>"Kalo skr  tanggung, cuma kerja  sebln  terus mudik. Abis  lebaran aja," jawab saya.</p>
<p>"Ya blm tentu  dpt lg kl mau  nunggu lbrn," balas kakak saya.</p>
<p>Yah, begitulah.  Pagi-pagi  sudah dapat sms  <em>nawarin</em> pembantu.  Sayang momennya kurang tepat. Mudah-mudahan  habis lebaran nanti   dapat  pembantu yang rajin dan jujur.</p>

<title><![CDATA[[GreenIT] SMS Companion v3 - Advanced Scheduling and Power Management]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I always visit <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">SMS </span><a href="http://www.sccmexpert.com/Products/Companion.aspx" target="_blank">SCCM Expert </a>in my rotation of must-check-for-update websites. They really develop some excellent addons and enhancements for my favorite systems management platform. One of their products that I had not really heard too much about struck me today.</p>
<p>Let me back up: I've been wondering more and more about what part I can play in the overall "greening" of IT. We all know that the bottom line is king in Information Technology, but it's becoming more clear that as we understand more about how our businesses work, that doing the right thing for the business may just be doing the Right Thing in general.</p>
<p>Take power consumption. I wish I could remember where I read this - perhaps it was Gartner, perhaps it was on one of the millions of PowerPoint slides I've seen this past year, but something like 1-2% or more of the power consumed by the United States is consumed by data centers. That seems high, and even moreso, it seems expensive. I think it was HP that reported this. Another number says that data centers in the US use the equivalent energy as would be required by 5 million houses. In any case, regardless of where the statistics come from, it's not hard to believe that power consumption by data centers is significant. Googlecheck me, please! I'd love to get this accurate.</p>
<p>Server consolidation initiatives and the commoditization of Hypervisors have made it possible to reduce the number of devices plugged into the wall, and that's just ducky, as far as I'm concerned. I've got to do some more reading on if there are statistics naming the percentage of power consumption that desktop devices. I don't know this for a fact (yet,) but my intuition tells me that it's got to be more than that used by data centers.</p>
<p>We leave desktop devices on for ease of management: we've invested thousands into systems management and ESD systems so that we can save money by centralizing the management and distribution of software and patches, but most of these systems (and this is changing!) require those machines to be on.</p>
<p>Technologies such as Wake-on-LAN and out-of-band management are making it more viable to implement a more energy-conscious stance with respect to the management of PC devices. It's more possible today to power down machines and still maintain them. Most software and hardware companies concerned with device management are working towards a nirvana where offline maintenance can be performed. Microsoft's Virtual Machine Manager will even service offline VMs, causing my mind to repeat a new phrase: "green consolidation."</p>
<p>It's my opinion that over the next 2-5 years, IT leadership will begin to consider strategies where managing and ultimately reducing power consumption will become as important as "virtualization" is today. Even moreso if the carbon trading markets open.</p>
<p>OK, all this is to say that SCCM Expert has created an, ahem, companion product for SCCM that "controls the scheduling of SMS actions to occur outside of regular work hours regardless of the power state of the machine." SCCM Expert advertises their "Wake-on Schedule" capability, which lends WOL-like capabilities for computers that do not already support it.</p>
<p>Lots of these features are finding their way into SCCM on their own, but this product seems like a great, ahem, companion to SCCM as a foundation for a power-saving desktop strategy.</p>
<p>For my own part, I plan to start including more power considerations into my Desktop Optimization story, and the attendant ROI calculations we generate over the course of IO projects. Here's to making the World and the world of IT a better place!</p>

<p>- "pot sa participe doar cei care au domiciliul in Romania....de parca cumparatori ai acestor produse pot sa fie doar romanii." Nu vad nicaieri unde zice ca NU poti fi SOMALEZ dar cu "domiciliul in Romania..."</p>
<p>- Limba engleza, hm ... ai fi foarte mirat. Si acum pe partea cealalata, tu l-ai trimite pe "furculition" in America sa te reprezinte, daca omul nu poate lega conversatii in limba respectiva, sau nu poate intelege ce indicatii primeste ...?<br />
Insa de restul lucrurilor legate de premiu si viza nu comentez, insa atata timp cat ele sunt puse in regulament si regulamentul este public, organizatorul este ok.</p>

Care este exprimat prin intermediul literelor si cifrelor. – Din fr. alphanumérique.Sursa: DEXonline.ro) care este posibil sa mai fi fost trimis anterior, adica activat de altcineva, TE si VA invit sa citesti/iti Atr49 din Regulamentul Oficial, care descrie FOARTE CLAR procedura de validare a codului corect. In caz ca aveti nevoie de explicatii, stiti unde ma gasiti :)</p>
<p>- Si cum zicea PCNEWS, imagineaza-ti ca eu sunt clientul dumitale si te intreb: ce se intampla daca primesti acelasi mesaj de 5 ori? "cum sa fac eu cu ei?" ce mi-ai raspunde? Sa le pun toate cele 5 mesaje ca si corecte? Adica participantul care a avut "inspiratia" sa trimita sms tocmai in momentul in care Operatorul de Telefonie are o "coada" in SMSC sa aibe sanse egale cu unu care a trimis 5 coduri diferite corecte, de pe 5 produse ?! Fii pe pace ca sunt sigura ca daca ar fi apelat la agentia Friends, s-ar fi gasit metode de mijloc. In 5 ani eu nu am auzit de astfel de intamplari, INSA DLE AVOCAT cum ramane cu clauzele unui contract/regulament de backup, ca sa le zic asa?</p>
<p>- hai ca sunteti tare ... daca omu nu are semnal, sau trimite sms printr-o minune cu numar ascuns... sau reteaua nu functioneaza cum mama naibii vrei sa ii raspunda organizatorul? ii trimite porumbelul pacii ?</p>
<p>- Datele personale ale participantilor...pastrate in siguranta!  Este vorba de datele personale in vederea efectuarii tragerilor la sorti, validarii castigatorilor extrasi, atribuirii premiilor si indeplinirii a obligatiilor fiscale ale organizatorilor de promotii. De ce nu dati tot paragraful?! Iar "8.3.    La cererea expresa a participantilor, Organizatorul va asigura acestora dreptul de acces, dreptul de interventie asupra datelor si dreptul de opozitie, in conformitate cu dispozitiile Legii nr. 677/2001 pentru protectia persoanelor cu privire la prelucrarea datelor cu caracter personal si libera circulatie a acestor date, publicata in M. Of. Nr. 790 din 12 decembrie 2001 si normelor emise in aplicarea acesteia. "<br />
Si acum va intreb eu pe dvs Dle Avocat, cui sa ii dea premiul un organizator, daca un posibil castigator nu ofera toate datele de care am nevoie in vederea punerii in posesie a premiului? Omului invizibil?</p>
<p>-La punctul 7 al sectiunii " Garantii si responsabilitati" din concurs, sta inscrisa o clauza, dupa citirea careia, vreau sa va intreb: uneori nu stiti sa cititi? Incepe foarte clar cu " 7.1.    Avand in vedere specificul marelui premiu..." continuand chiar cu citatul dvs "...necesare pentru a intra in posesia premiului," deci este vorba de un posibil castigator si NU de TOTI PARTICIPANTII. Adica de unul, caci despre UN premiu e vorba. UNUL...</p>
<p>Vad ca sunteti foarte critic, totusi va referiti la restul cu "neaosi", "gusteri" s.a.m.d ... dta cum te-ai clasifica domnule avocat?!</p>

<p><span class="post-calendar">Aproveitando o sucesso do  <strong>Orkut</strong>, o serviço oferece funcionalidades muito parecidas com o que o twitter e vários outros microbloggers já oferecem, só que dentro da maior rede social do Brasil.</p>

<p>belakangan memang lucu juga melihat <em>kegelutan</em> para hacker untuk mencari website yang menyediakan layanan free SMS on web, kemudian di <em>wrapper</em> bisa berupa <em>cloning</em> atau yang lainnya, sasarannya bisa jadi si <em>Operator</em> Selular sendiri atau website independent lainnya.</p>
<p>padahal harga SMS sekarang sudah semurah-murahnya bahkan lebih murah dari<em> permen karet</em> <em>"yosan",</em> hayoo sapa yang masih inget ??? keke .. anyway pinter juga pihak Indosat bisa memblacklist user indosat community nya, trus kalo dah di blacklist, apa yang terjadi dengan user nya nya ? di denda kah ? <em>bravo</em> indosat :)</p>
<p>ternyata tidak hanya Operator yang biasa menyediakan layanan Free SMS yang sering menjadi sasaran hacker, ternyata ada salah satu website mobil ternama yang tidak secara <em>gamblang</em> menyebut layanan Free SMS, tp di salah satu <em>feature</em> nya adalah mengirimkan <em>registration</em> <em>confirmation</em> ke handphone bahwa sudah berhasil ter-register di website nya, ini pun para hacker jeli melihat celah yang bisa digunakan untuk mengirimkan SMS tanpa bayar se-<em>sen</em> pun.</p>
<p>yang pasti nya, sang <em>korban</em> pun dihadapkan pada keputusan untuk menutup layanan tersebut atau ditambah level <em>security</em> nya jika memang ingin dipertahankan layanannya, tapi ini pun tidak bertahan lama, sebab pasalnya hal semacam ini menjadikan tantangan bagi para hacker untuk (kembali) dapat <em>menjebolnya</em>, terbukti pula di website <em>product</em> Indosat seperti <a href="http://www.m3-access.com">www.m3-access.com</a>, <a href="http://www.matrix-centro.com">www.matrix-centro.com</a>, <a href="http://www.klub-mentari.com">www.klub-mentari.com</a> yang sekarang sudah tidak ada lagi, ini praduga saja, jangan-jangan memang ada kaitannya dengan hacker yang sering meng-<em>eksploitasi</em> layanan SMS gratis nya? yang <em>notaben</em> nya website2 tersebut sarat layanan gratis SMS nya.</p>
<p>namun apa ruginya jika bisa mendapatkan layanan gratis SMS dengan menjadi <em>anggota</em> community indosat? secara legal gituh ... ga perlu <em>capek-capek</em> mikir <em>script</em> buat jebolin <em>system</em> nya? tuh bagi para ilmuan, yang punya ilmu se-<em>gaban-gaban</em>, <em>word wise</em> nya <em>"yah mbok gunakan ilmu yang baik dijalan yang baik pula",</em> kalo ilmu bisa bersaksi, pasti dia akan <em>demo</em> si pemiliknya, duh-ile kyk lagu tempo <em>doeloe</em>, yang judulnya <em>"kalo bulan bisa ngomong... "</em> kekeke ..</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Eran las 9:30 de la noche del viernes, caminaba por Metro de San Miguel cuando se me ocurrió llamar a An y preguntarle qué hacía, me dijo que estaba en cama enfermo y que no podía salir. Mi primera opción tenía un resfríado que no lo dejaba en paz. Seguí caminando y pensé en llamar a Ra luego lo medité mejor y decidí no hacerlo.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Crucé al frente y mientras caminaba por Tottus pensé en Mi, un ex enamorado y uno de los mejoress amigos que tengo y me preguntaba si podría salir de su casa para pasear conmigo bajo la garúa.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Sabía que Mi estaría en su casa y que era seguro que lo encontraría y caminaríamos y mientras él me decía cosas sin sentido, yo estaría disfrutando del paisaje que te regala una ciudad que vomita humedad en invierno.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Entonces decidí emplear mi arma, agarré el celular y escribí: Hola qué tal? Qué planes para hoy? Y esperé. Caminé en dirección a su casa y a los pocos minutos me llegó un mensaje: Hola! Todo bien, nada ver una pela nada más. Felicísima por la noticia le escribí: Y si sales de tu casa y salimos por ahí a tomar un café o algo.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">En eso mi celular volvió a vibrar y cuando miro el remitente era M, si el mismo M, ese M que me dijo que le gustaba, entonces dije no pierdo nada chequeando que dice y la respuesta fue contundente: Te agradezco el mensaje pero ya quedé con unos patas, pero quedemos para otro día.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Me cayó como un balde agua fría, esa fue su manera polite de decirme oye sabes qué no me dan ganas de salir contigo así que sorry pero inventaré una excusa para salir del paso. Después de leer ese mensaje en la vida iba a decirle que me equivoqué de M, que el mensaje de la salida no iba para él sino para Mi, mi amigo.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="ES-PE">Escribí: no te preocupes, fácil un sábado salimos, diviértete. Fue la manera, más estúpida y correcta que encontré de no quedar como una completa ímbecil, aunque claro está que ya me gradué de todos los insultos referidos al intelecto que existen.</span></p>

<p>Wie man den Medien entnehmen konnten stiess das iPhone nicht bei allen nur auf helle Begeisterung.</p>
<p>Auch ich gehöre mittlerweile zu den Kunden welche sich zukünftig ohne iPhone mit 2-Jahres-Vertrag abgeben. Dies ist auch gleich einer der Punkte welche meine Euphorie für das UMTS-Handy von Apple dämpften.</p>
<p>Aber gehen wir doch mal der Reihe nach:-)</p>
<p>Zuerst die guten Seiten des iPhones:</p>
<ul>
<li>Super Bildschirm: Die Auflösung reicht für das menschliche Auge gut aus und die Möglichkeit die Fotos, Videos und Podcasts auch im Querformat schauen zu können ist sehr komfortabel.</li>
<li>Einfache Bedienung: Die Bedienung mittels Touch-Screen ist extrem benutzerfreundlich wie auch Dubelisicher. Das iPhone besitzt nur eine einzige Taste auf der Frontsite über welche man jeweils ins Hauptmenü zurückkehren kann.</li>
<li>iPod: ohne Mängel - der eingebaute iPod erfüllt alle Wünsche und wer schon einmal einen iPod bedient hat kommt auch ohne Probleme mit dem iPhone-iPod zurecht.</li>
<li>Style: Hier hat Appel wieder einmal bewiesen, dass Sie wissen wie man einen Kult generiert. Das iPhone ist schlicht und doch elegant designet!</li>
<li>Fotos: Bilder kann man ganz einfach via iTunes auf das iPhone kopieren lassen. Ebenfalls genial ist die Vergrösserungsfunktion - mittels 2 Fingern welche man in entgegengesetzter Richung über den Bildschirm gleiten lässt vergössert sich das Foto. Umgekehrte Fingerbewegung verkleinert das Bild wieder.</li>
<li>Programme (Apps): Einfach genial! Man kann sich hunderte von Gratis- und auch kostenpflichtige Programme und Spiele via iTunes Online Shop herunterladen - einfach beim Programm auf "herunterladen" klicken und im iTunes unter "iPhone"die Synchronisations-Vorgaben anpassen. Und schon erscheint nach dem nächsten Synchronisieren das Spiel oder Programm auf dem iPhone :-)</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">.</span><br />
Nun die Nachteile:</p>
<ul>
<li>Virtuelle Tastatur: man sagt ich hätte feine Handy/Finger, doch selbst mit diesen treffe ich auch nach 2 Wochen SMS-Tippen noch immer des öfteren daneben beim Schreiben. Auch wird immer die Textvorgabe eingeblendet (wüsste nicht wo oder wie ausschalten) wenn man nicht in Hochdeutsch schreibt.</li>
<li>Akku: die angebene Gesprächszeit von bis zu 300 Minuten ist für mich nur schwer nachvollziehbar. Ich gestehe, dass ich das iPhone sehr oft genützt habe um im i-net zu surfen, Fotos zu schiessen, Musik zu hören, Spiele zu spielen, Applikationen zu testen, usw. Ich musste das iPhon jeweils am Abend oder schon früher wieder laden.</li>
<li>Kamera: die eingebaute Kamera lässt definitiv zu wünschen übrig! Nicht bloss verfügt sie über "nur" 2 Mio Pixel, sondern sie hat auch keinerlei Einstellungsmöglchkeiten. Man kann weder zoomen noch andere Funktionen einstellen. Einzige Funktionen sind Foto schiessen und den Ordner der geschossenen Fotos öffnen.</li>
<li>Mapps/Karten: das eingebaute GPS ist cool, man kann somit leicht seinen Standort anzeigen lassen oder eine Route planen. Leider verfügt es über kein 3D und keine Sprachausgabe, somit ersetzte es kein herkömmliches GPS-Navigationsgerät fürs Auto (gut, es ist ja auch nur ein Telefon^^). Zudem lassen sich keine Karten aufs iPhone laden was bedeutet, dass sich das iPhone die Kartendaten immer gleich online herunterlädt - was natürlich zu hohen Datengebühren führen kann. Daher empfehle ich unbedingt ein geeignetes Daten-Abo abzuschliessen beim Provider! Schade eigentlich, denn andere Hersteller (z.B. Nokia) liefern Karte und Sprachdateien gleich gratis (Nokia Maps) und für Handys mit deutlich weniger Speicherplatz.</li>
<li>Sonstiges: Das iPhone lässt einen nicht Programme oder sonstige Anwendungen im Hintergrund geöffnet zu lassen (ausser den iPod) während man eine andere Funktion öffnen will. Ist man z.B. im Internet und möchte doch im Hintergrund Musik hören, so muss man mittels der Home-Taste ins Hauptmenü (was somit das Internet schliesst) und dann auf iPod klicken. Danach muss man wieder auf die Home-Taste klicken (die Musik wird nun im Hintergrund abgspielt) und danach wieder auf "Safari" klicken um die letzte geöffnete Internet-Site wieder abzurufen.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">.</span><br />
Es gibt noch verschiedene andere Punkte (wenn auch nur "Kleinigkeiten") welche mir nicht sonderlich liegen, doch so hat halt jedes Handy seine Vor- und Nachteile.</p>
<p>Hauptpunkte weshalb ich mich vom iPhone verabschiede und wieder zu meinem Nokia N95 zurückkehre sind der 2-Jahres-Vertrag, die Kamera mit bloss 2 Mio und die mühsame SMS-Funktionalität.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Twitter has stopped sending out its updates to UK mobile phones - meaning an abrupt end of our news and Stags text alerts. This is a real shame - those alerts were going strong and steadily building interest. </p>
<p>It always seemed a bit too good to be true that we could send text alerts out at no cost to anyone (except, I suppose, to Twitter). It was good while it lasted. Hopefully Twitter will either find a low-cost way of reinstating the text updates, or someone else will plug the gap in the market instead. </p>
<p>What the exercise has made clear to us, is that a good text alert service is extremely important. </p>
<p>Of course, it won't be too long before most people are getting email straight sent to their phone, and once that becomes the norm, will it mean the death of the text message anyway?</p>

Gestern bekam ich dazu einen Kommentar eines Hörgeschädigten, der sich erkundete, ob und wie das funktioniert. Nach Rücksprache mit Microsoft stellte sich dabei raus, dass dies nicht möglich ist. Es ist lediglich möglich, sich den Aktivierungscode während des Aktivierungsprozesses per SMS senden zu lassen. Dank der Hilfe von <a href="http://www.vistablog.at" target="_blank">Georg Binder</a> wurde aber eine alternative Lösung gefunden:</p>
<p>So ist es möglich, die Aktivierung nicht nur automatisch oder per Telefon durchzuführen, sondern auch per E-Mail. Dazu muss der Aktiverungsassistent gestartet (so, als würde man per Telefon aktivieren), und dann die 48-stellige Installations-ID ausfindig gemacht werden. Dabei handelt es sich um die Zahlenreihen unterhalb der Nummern 1 bis 9. Diese muss darauf hin an <a href="mailto:activate@msdirectservices.com"><span style="color:#0000ff;">activate@msdirectservices.com</span></a> geschickt werden. Von dort wird dann eine E-Mail mit dem Aktivierungscode zugesendet, die ganz normal eingegeben werden kann.</p>

Vodafone india today announced the pricing for the <strong>8GB </strong>and <strong>16GB </strong>models of Apple iPhone 3G.</p>
<p>This is the message that I received from <strong>Vodafone</strong> as <a href="aalasanthosh.wordpress.com/2008/07/08/book-apple-iphone-vodafone/" target="_blank"><strong>I had registered with them</strong></a>.</p>

<p>The pricing is a bit high, considering the options and features that the iPhone comes with. For now I am going to adopt the  wait-and-watch approach. Who knows, the prices might come down after the initial euphoria settles down. On another note, a combination of Apple iPod (Nano / Touch) and a high-end mobile (from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, or HTC) should cost less than the 8GB iPhone model. The pricing should be a big relief to the competition for Apple iPhone for some time in India.</p>

<p>Mxxxra adalah  seorang komedian dan pemain sinetron yang  namanya  melejit setelah membintangi  satu sinetron besutan Rano Karno pada dekade 90-an.</p>
<p>Lewat sms, saya jelaskan ke Ulfi  bahwa komedian dan pemain sinetron yang menjadi  caleg  bukan cuma Mxxxxa, tapi ada juga nama lain seperti  JM, seniornya Mxxxxa,  yang akan dicalonkan  sebuah  parpol baru, serta  EP  dan C yang dicalonkan  PAN.</p>
<p>Membaca  sms saya,  Ulfi makin  meluap kejengkelannya. "Ini <em>mah</em> becanda  <em>banget</em>!"</p>
<p>Rupanya,  bagi  Ulfi keputusan  parpol  mencalegkan   para komedian  dan pemain sinetron  bukanlah  kebijakan  yang serius.  Sebagai rakyat, dia merasa aspirasinya tak  akan  bisa diwakili figur-figur  yang  kerjanya  lebih banyak memancing tawa.  </p>
<p>Seperti dinyatakan dalam sms-nya,  Ulfi mengaku tidak respek kepada  parpol yang mencalegkan   komedian dan pemain sinetron.</p>
<p>Saya yakin  dia  tidak sendiri. Orang  yang berpendapat seperti Ulfi   banyak. Umumnya,  mereka  meragukan efektivitas  pencalegan  para pesohor,   kecuali untuk mendulang suara  dengan memanfaatkan  popularitas mereka. </p>
<p>Banyak  suara sumbang dan sinis di masyarakat  yang  meragukan kemampuan para pesohor tersebut sebagai  wakil rakyat.   </p>
<p>Buktinya  sudah ada.  Para wakil rakyat  yang berasal dari latar belakang  artis/selebritis banyak yang tak bersuara  di  gedung  parlemen. Padahal  mereka  bukanlah tipe  artis  pemancing tawa, dan pendidikannya juga cukup tinggi. </p>
<p>Apalagi kalau nanti yang terpilih       para artis  pemancing tawa. Bisa-bisa  rapat  membahas  nasib rakyat menjadi ajang guyonan. Wallahua'lam.</p>
