The new AT&T V9x

Wanted to get that Motorola V9x from AT&T that we wrote about the other day (check it out here)? Motorola is now taking orders for your copy of this sick (yes it looks that good) phone available for $299.99 without a 2 year contract (Yes, that you will need to do that separately from AT&T-- who hasn't launched it yet themselves-- but that isn't so bad; you can get yourself a nice back up phone for free just by re-signing ;) ) Click the More link for all the details and a recap of the features that make this phone so sick.

A recap of what this phone brings:

• Very Small and Thin Flip Design- This phone is thinner than the original RAZR, and should fit easily into any pocket.
• 2 HUGE Screens- This phone has 2 HUGE screens (2 inch on the outside, 2.2 inch in the inside), and there are major updates to the outside screen here. Those updates include watching AT&T Cellular Video, listen to Music, view text and recent calls (really love the ability to view text, wish my old V9 had it), and much more- all from the outside screen.

• 2 Megapixel Camera with Video Recording- If this camera is anything like the one one the V9, then expect some decent pix-- viewable but not real digital camera worthy.

• Micro-SD card slot- Expandable to up to 8 GB (instead of 2 GB as was on the V9)

A worthy update to a already AMAZING phone.

Oh, and the AT&T support site already has this in the system, so coupled with the fact that Motorola is already selling it must mean that the phone is close to an actual AT&T release, probably making it much cheaper than the $299.99 listed here because AT&T will subsidize it with a new 2 year contract.

Now I have a useful mobile device, I am constantly surfing the web for information.  Sometimes I'm extremely impressed with web designers who have designed mobile equivalents of their websites - thank you for thinking of us mobile folk.

Here's a fact.  Of all the dudes in the US with cell phones, 15% use them to access the Internet.  I'm not just talking about iPhones either.  Did you know that the most popular Internet device in the US is the Motorola Razr?

So, there are 40 million active mobile Internet users in the US.  That is 40 million people who cannot access Flash based websites.  We really need to start thinking mobile when designing websites!

The mobile web is great for looking up things on the fly like restaurant menus.  So, as a real no no, do NOT make a restuarant menu a Flash based interface.  If I can't see what's on offer, then I'm not going to buy.  Simple as that.  And yes, last week I went hungry and pizzaless because of that very same issue.

I certainly think there is a time and a place for Flash, but when it comes to presenting business critical information, it should be avoided.  Don't rule out the mobile market.  Roll with them instead.

last night when i was modding my RAZR v3xx suddenly and unluckily the phone turned off ,sigh!

yeah it was about the battery since the screen kept showing me that : "battery low","cannot program". as the modders know when your phone is in bootloader mode you can't charge your battery,but this limitation applies to those who don't want to screw their phones up,oh yes and the other devices like their mouse!:Dimagine it was 2 o'clock in the morning and i really wanted to get it back like before and install the firmware so i can use it like the early days. i searched and found a forum on modmymoto.com and there was an awesome solution for this kinda bad condition! you guess what?charging the battery when it's not inserted in the phone? without any Desktop charger? oh naaah waaaaay man!

oh yeah man there is a waaaaaay haha ,here it is :

get the battery out of the phone,cut a USB cable ,this time i cut my mouse USB cable,poor him! you'll see 4 wires,strip the black and red ones,connect the red to the positive pin of the battery and black one to the negative one,recheck negative and positive pins of the battery in the instructions written on the battery itself and make sure you connect the wires to the pins correctly without any short circuit! now leave the battery chargin' for about 1 hour ,after that you'll have a battery charged enough for loadin' a firmware to your beautiful RAZR V3xx. it was 6:50 AM when i finished my job completely! 

Tonight I walked into a Starbucks, and immediately knew that something was amiss.  Everyone, customer and employee alike, had a slightly stunned look on their face.  Nobody was saying anything.

Eventually somebody giggled.  The silence having been broken, I asked the man standing next to me what was going on.  It turns out that moments before I walked in, someone had entered, grabbed a bag of coffee beans, then run away in a bizarre, cartoonish fashion.  "Knees all wobbly," is how the man described it.  My first thought was, "I guess Starbucks employees won't run after me if I ever decide to steal a bag of coffee," which is a naughty thing for me to have thought.

An hour later, standing in line for a comedy show, another thought: "Hey, I've had two odd experiences today.  I wish something else would happen, because three odd things would feel more narratively complete."  Five seconds passed, then a guy walked by me -- having a casual conversation on a cellphone, and wearing these things:

I didn't notice if the cellphone was a Razr.  I'm going to go ahead and assume that it was.

Before the Razr's came out, all my phones were Nokia's. Loved them! Then there was this coll looking Razr, so I decided to get it. It was time for a change.

Razr served me about 2.5 years, when it was time to let it go and get a new one. After shopping around for a few months, I ended up with MotoRokr Z6. Very nice phone! So far I've been really loving it, until recently. The phone started falling apart!! I've only had it for about 5-6 months and some buttons are coming off, one button won't work sometimes, so I have to push it pretty hard for it to work, battery dies REALLY fast. And last but not least, when I'm typing up a message and lets say I want to delete a word or a letter and pressing the clear key, it will start adding some random letters. After multiple presses it will delete what I want it to delete, but it just takes a little longer.

Agh, I'm very disappointed! And no, I haven't dropped or gotten the phone wet.

So I called Motorola yesterday and they told me that I'll have to send them the phone for repair. It is still under warranty, so that is good news! But, I need a temporary phone in the mean time. It will be about 3 weeks before I will get the phone back.

I do have some old phone laying around somewhere, but it's a little beat up and sometimes it does it's own thing.

Although I do have an idea! Since I originally bought this phone so it can be used overseas (very important!), I could just put it away and save it for when I go on the trips. And for here, well I could get another phone.

Where was I? Oh, so after I talked to Motorola, they e-mailed me some links that I had to go on and register and fill out some stuff, print it, packed it and mail it to them. And let me tell you, it wasn't the easiest thing filling out all the weird questions. So after filling everything out, I needed to print the stuff. Well guess what?! For some weird reason my printer won't print it!! Argh!!! I mean it won't even print anything except for some colored lines. So annoying!!! Our printer is a new printer and I've used it before and it worked fine. I've checked ink levels and they're full.

So I ended up e-mailing hubby with the things I need to print, and he'll try printing them at work. I hope it works!

So now I really don't know what to think of my phone and Motorola in general. I mean, I like the phone, but I can't believe I already have so many problems with it. Like I said, I've only had the phone for about 5-6 months and that is way too early for it to be falling apart.

For anyone that's interested, here is my phone. As you can see there is this big blue circle in the middle, well there are supposed to be 2 keys that fell off. That is so sad.
