Second, wowpaladin.org has a sort of compilation of Prot Paladin discussion from Ghostcrawler up here. Apparently, there is some concern that Blessing of Sanctuary is empowering Warriors to be better than Paladins at tanking. An informational side-note, Blessing of Sanctuary was changed to restore Mana, Rage, or Runic Power to the recipient upon dodging, parrying, or blocking an attack, in addition to reducing incoming damage by 3%. I don't know which aspect of it is making warriors "better" tanks, or if it's both, even, but Ghostcrawler (the dev who's seemingly endlessly writing on the class forums about changes in the beta and 3.0) is assuaging concerns, saying that most the theorycrafting is relying on assumptions about approximate uptime of things like warrior Shield Block and the RNG factor in Critical Block, and can't quite be exact.

An interesting note in the discussion is about a guild's tendency to trust one person as a main tank, regardless of that person's class. I'm sure this is true for most guilds, but ours hasn't had an actual "main tank" in...months? It's been a long time. Anyway, it is a rotating affair for us, as I mentioned here...though maybe not so officially rotational. Basically, lots of available tanks, but for the most part it turns out to be who gets stuck with it as opposed to who actually wants to do it. I'm hoping we can get that worked out for WLK where we can take turns or something. It is too easy for us to get burnt out on.

I would postulate that part of the issue, at least for me (well, especially for me) is that our tank alts, being in high demand, will see more playtime. As such, over a number of months, they will gear up way faster than anyone else. This takes those characters to a point where they maybe don't need any gear from the content they are still running, and we don't even have any sort of "main tank gets gear first" rule in place...everyone gets the same opportunities at loot in MiM.

But, as I said, gear, while maybe not the best stimulus, is still a driving force for character advancement. Beyond that, you have I believe two things to consider when raiding: the opportunity to participate (including seeing the content) and the opportunity to do things with your friends. Not to downplay the importance of friendship and socializing in an MMO, but it is still easy to get bored doing the same stuff over and over again, especially if you play the same class and don't advance at all as that class.

Maybe this would get better were we a guild that advanced. However, far too many people do not work hard enough or dedicate themselves to the task at hand, leading to frustration among those that do. I'm sure this is a sentiment that has been echoed throughout the WoW community, and I won't go so far as to say I'm not guilty of the same attitude from time to time, but apathy is a dangerous force, and I would say it can be contagious. I know it's why I don't raid now.

Perhaps in WLK I can look forward to raiding alongside others with respectable levels of competence more often than not.

On the other hand, I am excited regardless. Excited for 10 more levels, new sights, new 5-mans, new abilities, talents. It's going to be fun! Fun I know I will have. I just hope it lasts!

15 Dps ( pocos melees y con una vida superior a los 6500)

Habilidades de Void Reaver

Pounding: Ataque de área a rango melee (rango de 18 metros) que hace 1350-2250 cada segundo durante 3 segundos.  Tiene un cooldown de 10 segundos.

Orbe Arcano: Gran bola de energía arcana que se lanza contra un jugador aleatorio de la raid cada 3 segundos.  La velocidad es razonable así que da tiempo a apartarse si se está atento. Hace 4675-6325 de daño arcano y silencia durante 6 segundos; tiene un rango de 20 metros. El orbe se lanza a la posición en la que estaba el jugador cuando se lanzó el orbe.

Knockback: Empuja al main tank, desplazándolo hacia atrás y haciendo que pierda una gran cantidad de aggro. Debido a este ataque, los 4 tanques deben estar arriba de aggro, para tanquear a void en caso de que el MT pierda el aggro.

El pull

Lo arrancará un cazador con redirección mientras los tanques corren al centro de la sala, donde será tanqueado durante todo el encuentro.

Posiciones

Podéis ver la posición aproximada en esta imagen de bosskillers . En general, los de distancia nos colocaremos por parejas alrededor de la sala para poder apartarnos del orbe arcano y que no afecte a más de 2 personas. Colocaremos la cámara lo más alejada que podamos y apuntando a la cabeza de Void, de esta forma veremos cuando nos lanza un orbe y correremos hacia el fondo de la sala, no hacia los lados, puesto que si nos movemos hacia los lados corremos el riesgo de que nos lance un segundo orbe que afecte a más personas.

Mecánica del encuentro

Lo fundamental es reducir el daño que recibe la raid. Esquivar los orbes correctamente, o el pounding (para los melees) es fundamental para que los healers se puedan concentrar en los tanques. También es importante estar por debajo del aggro de TODOS los tanques, puesto que girarnos a Void va a suponer el wipe con toda seguridad.

Comentarios sobre las clases

Tanques

Los guerreros tened siempre activo el grito ¿desmoralizador?, y el grito que da vida. Recibid siempre el daño del Pounding aunque estéis offtanqueando, pues os dará ira.

Healers

Tened a todo el mundo arriba de vida, si alguien se come un orbe o algún melee se come el pounding subidlo inmediatamente.  Estad atentos para saber qué tanque tiene a Void en cada momento y más atentos aún a los orbes que os lancen, si os comeis uno, además de recibir 6k de daño, estaréis silenciados 6 segundos.

DPS melee

Lo tenéis bastante crudo porque apenas podréis hacer dps. El pounding tiene lugar cada 12-15 segundos, así que podréis pegar en tandas de 10 segundos, tras las cuales deberéis correr a más de 18 yardas para evitar el pounding. Otra opción es asignar un healer a los melees y que hagan dps normalmente comiéndose el pounding (ya veremos).

DPS distancia

Sobrevivid, es lo más importante, estad atentos a la cabeza de Void para ver si os lanza un orbe. Si es así, corred al fondo de la sala hasta que este impacte, y si recibís daño, usad vendas o pociones inmediatamente.

Los cazadores pueden dejar a sus mascotas de lado, puesto que morirán en el primer pounding.

El aggro puede ser un problema puesto que los tanques están perdiendo aggro constantemente, así que usado habilidades para reducir aggro siempre que podais.

Aprilia ha evolucionado la RXV 450 para debutar en el Rally de los Faraones 2008, que se disputará del 5 al 11 de octubre. Habrá seis motos, dos de ellas oficiales, pilotadas por Paolo Ceci y Alex Zanetti.

Four helicopters flew formation north bound today.  The black machines were typical of those used by law enforcement said several people who spotted them in the Southern Humboldt skies early Sunday.  The large number and the military formation sparked rumors of raids but, at least one person suggested that the rain had caused most growers to pull crops early for fear of mold thus foiling marijuana raids planned earlier in the year.  "They might be just heading out of the area," said one local hopefully.

Tal y como se preveía, el último bucle del AMV Shamrock - Rally de Marruecos 2008 no supuso ninguna sorpresa para los líderes de la general. Las fuertes lluvias que han descargado en la región de El Aiún en los últimos días han facilitado la tarea a los pilotos, que han corrido sobre una arena más sencilla de controlar. La playa ha sido el escenario de llegada para los vencedores.

En coches, Jean-Louis Schlesser ha terminado primero en la clasificación general con una ventaja de más de 22 minutos sobre Novitskiy. "La semana ha sido muy divertida. Hemos probado una nueva caja de cambios y no hemos tenido ningún problema mecánico. Novitskiy ha sido un gran adversario y la victoria ha estado muy ajustada. Nos ha obligado cada día a correr riesgos y a calcular los tiempos. ¡Nos vemos en la África Race 2009!".

Junto con el equipo de Schlesser, los otros vencedores de este rally han sido el ruso Leo nid Novitskiy, segundo, y Ronan Chabot, tercero en la general y primero entre los T2. Finalmente, dentro de los SSV, Frédéric Alard ha situado su monoplaza Dazon en la posición más alta del pódium, seguido de Alain Fricker. El año que viene aumentará el número de vehículos de este tipo, que tanto espectáculo han ofrecido.

We didn't have the heals and I would say would could have used alittle more dps. I definately enjoyed the raid. It was too bad we pulled out but atleast we continued the evening in SSC. Some people got some new gear. Darkrains one of our druids got his tanking staff which was a plus for the raid. I am looking forward to downing Hydross again for my chance at a sweet new chest piece, downing Leo would be good too as he drops a pair of bracers I could seriously use.

Tomorrow night is the kara full clear, not sure what time I am making back from work. Hopefully I can make it. There is still some gear I would like to claim out of there. But I am also one of those guys that wants to collect all my tier 4, tier 5. And tier 6 gear eventually. I know its silly, but that's part of the game I can look back at and say up been there done that! Yes, that does mean I would be down for MC, BWL, and Onxyia runs for my tier 1 and tier 2 stuff. The awesome thing is with Villain I have run MC twice now, I love the fact that these guys actually have fun running these places still.

So we hit ZG on Friday, yep I strapped my boots back on and gave the game 5 hours of my life.

1st observation:
Empty your bags. We had to hearth to make space. All the rep and quest tokens build up before you know it.

2nd observation:
This place is made for a large crew.

A couple of the fights have dynamics that take 5 players out of action: sleep, illusions, shades etc.

The assumption being you have a whole pile more bodies to deal with the encounter - if you don't then it can be a struggle, though not necessarily impossible.

Bueno, no me desvío, lo que más me gustó de esta mazmorra fue la sala final, viendo mapas yo me imaginaba una gran caverna con Nefarian en el centro... ni de lejos, es un balcón con vistas a las Estepas Ardientes en la mismísima cumbre de RocaNegra. Foto en el trono de Lord Victor Nefarius incluida  =D

Cuando acabamos, en una hora o así, el RL dijo "y si ahora nos vamos a Ahn'Qiraj 40?" y en AQ40 acabamos, si señor. Al principio pensé "con todo lo malo que he oido de los Emperadores y C'thun, esto no lo acabamos en mil años", despues de ver caer a los primeros bosses casi sin seguir las estrategias... lo ví todo más claro. Matamos a todos los opcionales y a todo bicho (nunca mejor dicho) viviente. Me hicieron gracia los bosses de la Familia Insecto (Más por la idea que por el boss en sí), el Moco Gigante (No Comments, ya verlo fue la risa, pero la pelea lo supera xD), los Emperadores (que no tenian gran cosa, pero eso de que se intercambiaran de una forma tan sincronizada hasta el punto de pensar que no se habian intercambiado estaba gracioso) y C'thun (que cayó, dado el dps que llevábamos, al primer tentáculo interno que matamos, aunque la batalla empezó con un par de bajas justo a mi lado (cadena de rayos) y de las que me libré no se cómo...)

En resumen, grandes instancias del pasado, de las cuáles me queda: Matar algo más que el primer boss de Molten Core, y más o menos la mitad final de AQ20.

PD: Es curioso como un Blog de una persona que raidea Templo Oscuro, empiece con raids preBC de casualidad... bueno... supongo que esto le da un toque original xD

Me he entretenido mucho y además me he enterado de que estas raids las hacen todos los fines de semana para visitar a los "viejos amigos", con lo que probablemente no sea la única vez que voy por allí.

El piloto catalán Santi Anglada y su Mitsubishi L200 son los primeros en inscribir su nombre en el palmarés de la Baja Tierras del Cid que se disputó en la provincia de Burgos y por primera vez puntuable para el Campeonato de España de Rallyes Todo Terreno y la Mitsubishi Evo Cup TT.

Burgos acogió a la perfección su primera prueba puntuable para el nacional de rallyes todo terreno. Los pilotos tenían por delante una súper especial y un sector selectivo al que se le daban dos vueltas. Santi Anglada y Enric Oller (Mitsubishi L200) fueron los grandes dominadores de este rallye, puntuable tanto para el nacional como para la Mitsubishi Evo Cup.

El piloto catalán, tras un inicio prudente en la prueba especial, se alzó con la victoria en los dos largos selectivos tramos de que constaba la prueba, consiguiendo la segunda victoria absoluta del año en ambos certámenes, lo que le consolida al frente de éstos dando un importante paso de cara sus aspiraciones a conseguir el doble título.

Composición de la raid

7-8 Healers: En el peor momento podrian estar 5 Healers ocupados con sus demonios interiores y 2 Healers son absolutamente necesarios para curar al Warlock tanque.
2-3 Tanques: 1 Tanque Warlock y 1-2 Tanque Druida ya que es mas rápido para matar su demonio interior que un tanque Prot. y en la fase “Demon” puede hacer DPS.
14-16 DPS: Los Rogues tambien son muy buenos ya que se liberan facilmente de su demonio interior.

Habilidades
Habilidades en forma Humana

Torbellino(Whirlwind)
- Leotheras se moverá alrededor de la sala de una manera similar a Satura en el encuentro de Ahn?Quiraj.
- Reparte golpes de 3k de daño y dejan un efecto que deja un tic(Bleeding) de 2.5k. El daño es atenuado por la armadura pero no el efecto del tic( puede ser eliminado con Escudo de hielo, Escudo de protección, Escudo divino).
- Cada 12 segundos ataca aleatoriamente a un jugador de la raid.
- Reajusta todo el aggro después del torbellino (Stop DPS).

Nota:
Los cazadores deben hacer redirección(misdirect) al main tank, siempre que termine un evento de Whirlwind, para evitar que muera la raid. Puede ponerse tambien totem de shaman (Searing totem) en la zona del tanque, asi agreará, permitiendo que el MT (main tank) permanezca cerca y pille aggro facilmente.

Si el MT es un paladín protección, podrá pillar el aggro lanzadole un escudo a Leotheras.

Es importante observar el ToT (target of target) del boss, si seleccionamos a Leother como nuestro focus podremos saber siempre a quien atacará, si nos viene deberíamos correr alejandonos de el y de esta manera pierdes el aggro y evitamos que nos golpee su area.

Habilidades en forma de Demonio

Demonio interno (Insidious Whisper)
- Invoca el demonio interno de hasta 5 jugadores.
- La sombra interna del jugador tiene una vida de 11k.
- Cada demonio interno puede ser atacado solamente por la persona afectada. Si este jugador no mata su demonio interno antes que Leotheras consiga volver a forma humana (30 ? 45 segundos), será controlado durante 10 minutos y solo podrá salir del control mental si esta muerto.
- El daño de las sombras es muy bajo.
- No invoca demonios internos en las personas con aggro.
- Los Hunter, Warlocks, Shamanes, Magos e incluso los Priest deben asegurarse que sus pets no sean afectados por el killing blow.

Chaos Blast
- La ráfaga del caos es la forma de atacar de Leotheras en forma de demonio.
- La ráfaga del caos es un nuke del objetivo que hace un daño de fuego de 150+/- y reparte alrededor del blanco daño de AOE.
- La ráfaga del caos también apila un debuff de hasta 20 veces y 45 segundos a menos que este restaurado y daño de fuego con aumentos de 1675.

Nota:
Necesitaremos un warlock(brujo) con mucha resistencia de fuego como tanque; ya que Leotheras hace mucho daño si se tanquea en forma melee.

Habilidades general

Enrage
- Leotheras enfurecerá pasado 10 minutos del combate, eliminando la raid muy rápidamente.

Estrategia
Fase 1 (dura alrededor de 40 sseconds.)

La primera fase 1 comienza puleando 3 adds que destierra Leotheras. Cada uno de ellos tiene que ser tankeado y eliminados.
castean , en unos pocos segundos, AOE aleatorios de 3k “Mind Blast” de hasta 10-15 metros, desterrando 1 jugador de la raid cada vez, hasta un total de 3 jugadores. Seguirán desterrando hasta que mueran.

Después de la muerte de los 3 Adds, Leotheras se convertirá en su “forma humanoide” (a partir de ahi se cuenta 1 minuto que es la duración de la primera fase). Debemos redirigirlo( Misdirected) al tanque principal que lo esperará en la zona planificada.

15 segundos después del comienzo del combate, restablecerá su aggro y comenzará a realizar “Whirlwind” alrededor de unos 10 segundos.
Hay que alejarse de el para evitar ser golpeado, tener cuidado al curar en esta fase para no acumular mucho aggro, tambien es recomendable que el resto de los dps no beban de los potes de salud, ni utilizen vendas, en fin de no arriesgarse.

.El tanque tiene que seguirle por toda la sala para apoderarse de él tan pronto como éste termine la fase de “Whirlwind” e intentar acumular mucho aggro. Paramos el DPS y nadie le ataca durante al menos 5-6 segundos hasta que nuestro MT acumule aggro; 15 segundos después de finalizado el primer “Whirlwind” realizará otro “Whirlwind”. Él se convertirá en su “forma demonio” mientras castea su segundo Whirlwind.

Notas:
- En la fase humana no se aconseja el daño melee debido a los torbellinos que realiza.
- Cualquier persona golpeada por el torbellino recibirá un debuff que da lugar a una muerte segura si no le curan. El debuff se puede quitar con Divine Shield, Bendición de la protección, Bloque de hielo o Stoneform (Racial).
- Tengan un Hunter con misdirect al tanke después del Whirlwind(torbellino) ya que resetea el aggro, de esa manera se podrá reanudar el dps mas rápidamente.
- Considere la posibilidad de usar un tanque principal paladín protección ya que no necesitara correr detrás de Leotheras para recuperar el aggro.

Fase 2 (dura alrededor de 60 segundos.)

Inmediatamente que Leotheras se convierte en un demonio, reinicializa todo el AGGRO y permanece fijo disparando ráfagas de Chaos sobre su objetivo.
En esta fase, el brujo offtank debe tanquear a Leotheras (debe tener soul link y un manáfogo, para poder resisitir mucho daño), El offtank brujo necesita spamear Dots y Searing Pain para mantener aggro sobre Leotheras, También ayuda un poco la redirección de un cazador al comienzo de la fase, se necesitan dos cazadores para la rotación de los Misdirect en cada fase demonio.

Cuando nuestro warlock tiene el aggro comenzará a acumular debuff que incrementan el daño de fuego recibido por 1500, No es muy importante donde se coloca el Warlock, realmente lo que se necesita es que no haya gente alrededor de el en uno 10-15 yardas, todo el mundo debe estar alejado de el para no ser afectado por el “Caos Blast”.

Es importante que no muera la mascota(pet) del warlock, tambien tener en cuenta que en la fase demonio es cuando mayor DPS debemos realizar, asi que tener todos los trinkets listos. Ponerle piedra del alma al brujo, por si muere volver a resucitar y pillar el aggro nuevamente…alternas las piedras el resto de locks.

Demonios internos y los Chaos Blast:
15 segundos en esta fase, Leotheras invoca 5 Demonios para algunas personas al azar, y cada uno de ellos tendrán que matar a sus propios Demonios internos (Inner Demon). Los demonios tienen la misma salud que tú, solo tendrás 45 sec para matarlo. Si no logras matarlo, Leotheras controlará tu mente y forzará a la raid a que te maten.

Después de los 60 segundos, vuelve a su “forma humanoide”
Él rotará entre las Fases 1 y 2 hasta que su vida se aproxime al y dará comienzo a la fase 3.

Notas:

Todos deben asisitir a este evento con algun equipo de DPS….especialmente los halers. En la fase humana solo se necesitará un tanque.

- Hunter: para los hunter puede ser duro el encuentro con su demonio interno ya que las sombras son melee, los hunter podrían usar sus pets pero se arriesgan a que sus mascotas sean afectadas por su demonios internos y el hunter seria afectado por el Mind Control de 10 minutos.

- Priest: los Priest deberán tener un mínimo de daño de 300 o lo tendrán muy duro en este encuentro con sus sombras, otro healer tienen que encargarse de curarlos ya que el priest necesita concentrar todas sus habilidades en matar a su sombra.

- Druida (resto): Utilicen un poco de sus set de daño, los demonios consiguen daño adicional de la naturaleza.

- El resto de clases DPS no deberían tener problemas en matar sus demonios fácilmente.

- Pets: Si se utilizan pets asegúrese de que no venga afectado por el demonio interno ya que podría afectar al jugador con control mental durante 10 minutos

Fase 3

Al 15% de vida comienza la fase 3. Leotheras se separa en forma humana y de demonio; o sea hay 2 Boss.

Su forma demonio debe ser tanqueda de nuevo por el offtank brujo, con nadie alrededor de 15 yards. Ambas formas se comportan exactamente igual que antes, con una sola excepción; El demonio no castea mas “demonios internos”.

Su forma humanoide debe tanqueda por el tanque principal guerrero y éste actuará de la misma manera que en la fase 1, con Whirlwind cada 15 segundos, igual que en la Fase 1. Sin embargo, usted no tendrá suficiente tiempo / de supervivencia para ver más de 2-3 Whirlwinds , necesitarás nukear su forma humanoide tan rápido como puedas, ya que tendrás el “enrage y wipeará la raid. Tan pronto como su forma humanoide muere, la lucha ha terminado y la forma demonio desaparece.

OJO: normalmente suele matarse a Leotheras al comienzo del ENRAGE asi que hacer mucho DPS.

Asignaciones de clases:
Main Tank (tanque principal)
Tanquerá Leotheras en medio de la habitación en el lugar designado. Después del Whirlwind necesita apoderarse de él lo más rápido posible y situarlo en medio de nuevo.

Warlock Offtank
Usar un Felhunter(manáfogo) para mayor resistencia.Puede comenzar la lucha con una maldición de Doom en Leotheras a fin de que pueda marcar extra aggro durante la Fase 2. Cuando comience la Fase 2 tiene que spamear “Searing Pain” y mantener aggro sobre él toda la duración de la fase. En la fase 3 necesitará mantener el aggro en la forma demonio hasta que la forma humanoide muera.

DPS Warriors, Feral Druids
- En la fase 1 ayudar a tanquear los 3

Leotheras el ciegos en forma demoníaca

Melee DPS
Fase 1
Hacer DPS Leotharas desde atrás y alejarse cuando se pone a realizar torbellinos(Whirlwinds).
No usar pociones de curación si te afecta el Whirlwind. Parar DPS 5 segundos cuando finalice el Whirlwind hasta que el tanque pille el aggro.
Fase 2
Mantener el DPS en Leotheras y matar tu Demonio interior lo más rápido posible.
Fase 3
DPS en la forma humanoide de Leotheras y huir de los torbellinos.

Ranged DPS
Fase 1
Repartidos por todo el cuarto y DPS a saco a Leotheras. No usar pociones de curación si te golpea un Whirlwind. Parar DPS 5 segundos cuando finalice el Whirlwind hasta que el tanque pille el aggro.
Fase 2
Mantener el DPS en Leotheras y matar tu Demonio interior lo más rápido posible.
Fase 3
DPS en la forma humanoide de Leotheras gastar todos los cooldown que tienes que matarlo.

Healers Curadores
En general se centran en su curación. Sin embargo, si usted ve a alguien teniendo daños y por no recibir la curación, ayudar cuando sea necesario.
Aunque en los Whirlwinding, las únicas personas que deben curar son los Paladins y Druidas y quizás los sacerdotes con renews, lo menos posible para no pillar el aggro.
Los healers del MT debería curarlo en la fase 1 y luego curar al OT warlock. Si es necesario, asigne 1 más para el brujo.
En la Fase 3, tendrá mantener la salud de la raid a tope, ya que van a tomar mucho más daño.

I would expect to see several more Osama Bin Laden videos released over the next few months, as well as a marked increase in terrorist attacks.

The bombing in Islamabad has killed at least 40 people and left a crater some 30 feet deep. Many more dead are thought to be still inside the ruins of the building and there are hundreds injured.

The attack on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad is thought to have been in response to increasing US cross border raids on Pakistani territory as the US pursues Islamic militants in the war on terror from Afghanistan.

As a community activist and cultural worker, I believe that people are motivated to become involved when they can see a connection to issues of real and immediate concern in their lives. We need to continue to develop and build the power of communities to participate in decision-making that impacts their lives and create clear connections that link “the personal to the political.”

This past week, The Pew Hispanic Center released a report (2008 National Survey of Latinos: Hispanics See Their Situation in the U.S. Deteriorating; Oppose Key Immigration Enforcement Measures) The report finds that “half of all Latinos say that the situation… is worse now than it was a year ago.” This is certainly sad, but hardly shocking. Particularly when we remember that within the past year, rural Latinos have experienced two of the largest immigration enforcements in the history of the U.S.:

• the August 26th, Laurel, MS raid where nearly 600 workers were detained; and
• the May 12th, Postville, IA raid where 390 people were detained.

On November 4, lets make sure that all of us who show up to the polls, vote based on issues that are critically important to our community—including (but not limited to) an end to ICE Raids. Overzealous immigration enforcement will do nothing to fix this nation’s broken immigration system and will only serve to polarize how immigrants are perceived. We know this approach only promotes discrimination and racial profiling. Ultimately, these actions weaken the social and economic fabric of our entire community and threaten the civil and human rights of immigrant and non-immigrant communities alike.This November, we can make a difference!

First off, apologies to anyone who happened to be following this blog over the last month or so. I really haven't had anything worth commenting on happen to me as far as WoW goes. However, last night I once again ventured into Blackrock Spire in an attempt to claim my Elements vest. Not only did it drop, but we also killed Lord Valthalak, and got a guildie his Ony attunement (I'm pretty sure he had been holding on to the quest since before the Burning Crusade came out, meaning that took somewhere around two years to find a UBRS group for him.)

With the topic of Onyxia fresh on our minds, we agreed to head out to Dustwallow Marsh and take on the Dragon Lady herself. Unfortunately, the warlock in our group was not attuned, so we were left with four people--the aforementioned Hunter, a Mage, a prot Paladin, and myself. I can't speak for my guildies, but I certainly wasn't expecting great things from the attempt; we only had four people, two who had never set foot in Onyxia's Lair before while the other two hadn't in two years, it was too late for multiple attempts--meaning an unlucky deep breath or some funky agro issues could ruin our fun, and none of us had any fire resistance gear.

Nonetheless, the four of us ported the Theramore, and set out into the swamp (having leveled after the revamp there, I was the only one in the group who could fly to Mudsprocket, leaving everyone else to swim across the bay). We zoned in and made quick work of the trash, then swapped half-remembered tactics for the fight.

The actual fight was almost anticlimactic. We did loose our mage in the first deep breath--he said that he's going to wear his tanking gear if we go back, but it was otherwise a fairly uneventful, albeit rather long, fight. Having killed Ony several times before the expansion, I was actually rather surprised at how simple the fight was with only four people. I think a lot of extra stress comes from dealing with healing 40 people worth of splash damage.

As luck would have it, two druid helms dropped, so none of us is sporting any fashionable tier 2 gear today. I did win the roll for the Onyxia Hide Backpack, though, making the third one I've gotten--the other two being on my priest. And the Hunter, who's a leatherworker, got to turn in her head, meaning that he can now make Onyxia Scale Cloaks. Does this mean BWL is next?

This gives me quite a bit of time to prepare for the "real" stuff and allows me to fill in the holes on new talents of the wrecking crew I'd like to build.

WotLK presents a challenge as a new RL though.  With a guild full of members below 60 and about 10-12 in the mid sixties, our main focus for a few weeks will be leveling and getting into Heroics for epics and badges.  The gear is more for a look at, "this is what we're working towards" rather than the gear itself.  Everything we will receive before Wrath comes out will obviously be replaced with 71-74 greens & blues.  But, it's not in vain as it will give us a look at content, group dynamics and working together as a team. 

Now the fun part of getting everyone to 70 and through Heroics and faction rep begins...

I went on my first run with Mythos last night. I was part of group two. You can read about group one over on Fimly's Blog. I went in on Pallylust, even though she doesn't really need anything from there except badges. I wanted to be helpful and such. Anyways I wasn't sure what to expect. Obviously my new home is a ways behind what I am used to running to I assumed there would be considerable amounts of dying. However, that wasn't the case.

I was impressed even. Even though we took it slowly, every boss was 1 shotted, and there was very little dying. With the exception of one elite group AOE pull outside of Moroes. Otherwise everything was smooth. I tried to not be overbearing in any advice I offered up, and I only pulled aggro once in healing on trash trying to save a mage who got to close to some extra mobs. Which is pretty good, considering I had been wearing my tank gloves the whole time with the 2 percent threat increase enchant on them. Whoops.

Overall Pally doesn't need much from Kara. The Ribbon of Sacrafice and maybe a healing cloak should do it. Otherwise she is pretty set. In the meantime I shall continue to gold farm, and level my warlock duo. I also started a druid duobut I'm not entirely sure I'm deadset on leveling them or not. Only time shall tell.

Pakistan military officials have ordered troops to fire on the US if they raid within their borders again. This is in response to last week's raid to get hostile Taliban militants.

I say good job Pakistan. We have no right to go into another country and start shooting up the place. We should practice what we preach and respect the sovereignty of foreign nations.
