Pastafarianism is the new craze on the internet that is causing many raised eyebrows, and at the same time drawing many supporters. They speak of a flying monster made of spaghetti and meatballs, and this is the god they supposedly worship. Even the most serious supporters of this newfound religion know the spaghetti monster isn't real, but it does symbolize something very real. It symbolizes the idea that there are alternative belief systems and all religions are not "law." Pastafarians do not believe in the backbone of many religions today, as there is little proof that their paths and teachings are accepted by God. There are many differences in each religion today and FSM followers exploit this fact and use this as the basis for their movement. Of course their supporters and teachings are routinely met with disgust. They do make a great point though, in asking why other religions are so widely accepted. We all have our own images of the creator, and we even have different names for Him, but I have to admit this view is way, way out there. None of us really know how God looks, or how he created the earth, because obviously we were not there. Pastafarians are creating quite a buzz, and it actually looks like they will be around for a long time to come. We can learn a lot from the battles they have with other religions. We need to learn to accept each other for who we are, not what we believe in, because we are in fact created equal. That's what's wrong with society today, we give everyone the cold shoulder if they don't look like us, dress like us, or eat the same foods and hang out at the same places. If we were more open and accepting, the flying spaghetti monster theory may never have presented itself. FSM followers have actually created a new craze that is pretty interesting, and takes our minds off of the every day grind. In my opinion, they do have a purpose and a goal, and that goal is to be accepted regardless of belief system. That's definitely a positive in my book. If they're not spreading hate, and providing entertainment and good information, I'm all for it.

So, my religion is the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. We believe that we were created by His Noodlyness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster! We also evolved from pirates, which have been in steady decline since global warming has begun. And Midgets are all-powerful Demi-Gods!!!
