Yesterday was one of the best afternoons/evenings of my life. I hosted a graduation party at my house to celebrate CTLB and I receiving our Masters degrees.

Whenever I have a party, I always go a little bit crazy beforehand making sure everything is ready: cleaning the house, shopping for food, getting decorations, and figuring out the right outfit to wear. Yesterday was no exception to the mania, in fact, there was a bit extra, just for good measure.

I have this old, wood table that used to be a workbench in the backyard. It was a bit dirty and dusty, but I figured that if I washed it off and covered it with a plastic tablecloth (that matched the cocktail napkins and appetizer plates I bought at Diddam's, naturally), it would be fine. When my dad and I moved the table on Thursday night, we uncovered a water faucet that I didn't realize was there. Mind you, I've lived here for a year and a half, and had never turned this faucet on. So, I got the bright idea to turn it on, fill my watering can with water, and wash off the table. Easy right? Not so much. I turned the faucet on, no problem, but when I went to turn it off, the spigot at the top of the faucet wouldn't budge. The water was on almost full blast and wouldn't turn off!! I freaked out for about 10 minutes, but then pulled myself together and called the management company so they could send the plumbers out to turn off the water. 3 hours and 2 crazed phone calls later, the plumber finally arrived to shut off the water. In the mean time, my backyard was practically flooded. A perfect setting for a party, don't you think?

Luckily it was a really hot day yesterday (100 degrees in the shade), so the water quickly dried up and actually helped clean off the cement in the backyard. Crisis solved.

The rest of the day was spent running around mopping the floors, vacuuming the carpet, and getting the house ready for my guests. I also went to a couple of grocery stores for all the food, and got that all set up. The house looked great, the food was all ready, I looked nice (if I do say so myself), and then it was time for the guests to arrive.

Only all of my friends and family like to be fashionably late, so I sat around the house waiting for the party to start.  Soon enough people started showing up and the party was underway.  We all had a great time, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.  I kept thinking to myself, "I have such amazing friends and family."  Each person at the party was truly thrilled for my achievement, and happy to partake in the celebration.

Flooding aside, the evening went off without a hitch, and it was one of the best times I've had in recent memory.

Again, I will say that I am sorry for not putting the Andreas09 theme. Anyways, in return, you can be on my header at the top! It will be a contest because only a handful of you can be up in the stands with me. The header will be taken on Sunday, May 17th, 2008 at the party.  All you have to do is post a comment and say that you will be there! Simple as that. The Club Penguin Medieval Party is out, and I got all the cheats & tips to make it the best Firstly, the new item. It is a Squire Tunic.

It is located at the Dock, beside the rubber tubes.

Now, a really cool thing. If you go to the Forest, there is a whole new room! It’s the treehouse and it’s pretty cool.

As I said, it can be found by going up the stairs in the Forest.

Another cool thing. Remember the Fire at the camping party? Where you had to add logs to make it bigger? Well, it’s back at the Beacon.

Also, there is a “Magic Mirror” up in the Mountain top. Go ask it something then hover over it for your answer. Well, I know I’m not getting an Xbox tomorrow.

And that’s it!

I initially liked this imperfect girl when we first met; thought she was beautiful and without a doubt clever. With such a good start it was spellbinding to watch over a series of months these traits fade fast; like some obscure soap opera that one can't help but discuss; and so I did - an attempt to make sense of this loss.

Being well-educated and read seems to have severely reduced her capacity for general common sense. She seems dumber by the second when she plays lapdog to Jonny boy. High school sweethearts; why has no one told her that it was never supposed to last? For once just mentioned that it should have been a trial run for better things that have surely yet to come. Then I ask myself, "why haven't I?"

I feel infuriated when she apologises on his behalf and makes excuses for the rude and rash behaviour. He's opinionated on things he knows nothing about. When I found out about the things he'd said behind my back and the things that she'd agreed with because she truly laps that boy up, I laughed, enraged. He'd once again spoke hastily on things he had no clue about and it all reaffirmed why at my birthday, after the odd couple had left so silently, no hint of a goodbye, that I apologised to the crowd for inviting them, said it had been a cordial invite, one last chance to mend a breaking tie. "I'm officially cutting that tie," I said, "I've tried but he's a cunt and she blatantly knows it too.

Sadly that boy follows her about; has no friends of his own. I don't want this spare wheel in my life, slating the things that I do and all the things I'm so desperately wanting to achieve. He called me naive, a dreamer with no obtainable goals and that I was heading for a fall - a patronising, "don't get your hopes up."

"Bastard," I thought. How dare you attempt to piss on my dreams. And the after taste from the remark that I was selfish, for wanting things that could leave others behind, is still strong and only turning more rancid. He's trying to drag me down to his awkward, bitter level; wants to crush aspirations so that I can't go further than him. But I will - too much talent to not achieve success. He however, will forever stew in eternal melancholy. It doesn't please me but it inspires me to work harder.

So this is an official goodbye. I've never before had to be so cold and shut people out. Even those who have seriously wronged me have been given a chance at forgiveness.

You, Jonny boy, are a parasite.

Well, the new Medieval Party is here and the first thing you would want to know is that the free tunics available at the Dock.

There are A LOT of other rooms that I haven't mentioned above that are really nice. Be sure to visit the Coffee Shop, the Pizza Parlor, the Cave, the Mine, the Mountain(where you go Sled Racing), and more!

Last of all, my 150,000 hits party was a SUCCESS! A lot of people arrived and was saying cool phrases like "Party On!" and "We are penguins and we will rock you!" and more cool stuff like that. One guy that had a cool idea of forming a line and dancing with me! Pizzarocks was the man! That got the party going and the crowd was WILD! Thanks Pizzarocks! Here are the descriptions and pictures of the 4 penguins I have chosen:

1. Pizzarocks

About Pizzarocks: He had really great ideas for running my party and was sticking with me until the end of my party. Thanks Pizzarocks! Without him, I wouldn't have that great "Line" idea.

2. Mousylil

About Mousylil: Mousylil stuck with me from the beginning to the end of my awesome party! She played all sorts of games with me like Sled Racing. Did you know that she also helps me with my funny pictures? She helped make the 1st awesome picture that everyone likes about the "Big Butt". You can go to the Funny Pictures page to view some pics made by Mousylil and I!

3. Terrysacker3

About Terrysacker3: I first met Terrysacker3 at the beginning of my party in the Dojo and that was the designated place for where my party would start. Terry was all like, "Hey I'm here for your party!" and I was so surprised to see Terry. Terry stuck with me and the party for at least 3 hours which is pretty sweet and WASN'T a party pooper like some of them... ...thank you so much for being my FIRST guest Terry!

4. Skater121Bam:

About Skater121Bam: Skater121Bam was also always there and rockin' at my party. He was the last guest to actually leave my party and make sure it ended because he didn't want to be a party pooper and leave. He is really a great penguin and if you get to know him, you'll be amazed!

I like having a recipe like this for special occasions, like graduations, first birthdays... I've altered this a bit from the original recipe of Alice Medrick's (previous owner of Cocolat in the Berkeley area). What I liked most about her recipe was how she used "Creme Fraiche". Don't be intimidated by it! You are just culturing a carton of cream with a bit of buttermilk, and the result is: A great frosting that doesn't weep on you. It holds its shape and is easy to work with. The touch of tang that the buttermilk has "bred" into it gives it a subtle hint of sour, like you find in cheese cake. It's wonderful!

This recipe has a few steps; definitely more involved than a box cake. But it's perfect for those larger occasions when you can't afford to buy an expensive, fancy cake, but want something homemade and special. This cake is pretty rich and can be cut in smaller pieces, to serve 15-20

Creme Fraiche- Two or so days earlier, heat to lukewarm: > 1 qt. whipping cream (4 c.)

Remove from heat and mix in: > ¼ c. buttermilk
Cover and let stand in warm, draft-free area until slightly thickened, 24-48 hours. Cover, refrigerate.

Chocolate "Genoise" Cake
To make the egg/sugar mix, use room-temperature eggs, warmed in hot water first: > 8 eggs

Add warmed eggs to a bowl, along with the sugar, setting bowl in warm water until lukewarm, stirring occasionally. Use: > 1 ⅓ c. sugar

In separate cup, microwave mixture of: > ¾ stick butter (6 TBS.) > 2 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients together separately (to be sure lumps are out of the cocoa), or just mix well, pressing any lumps out, using: > ¾ c. plus 2 TBS. flour > ¾ c. plus 2 TBS. unsweetened cocoa powder

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease cake pan (9"x 9" square); dust with flour.

Beat egg/sugar mix until tripled in volume. Fold in spoonfuls of flour mixture at a time, into egg mixture, repeating until mixed in. Fold in melted butter/vanilla last. Put into prepared pan; batter should come up in pan about ⅔ full. Bake until cake begins to pull away from sides of pan and is springy, about 30 min. Let cool.

Prepare Raspberry Filling; microwave jam in a small bowl, using: > ⅓ c. seedless raspberry jam

Add to the bowl: > ⅓ c. Frozen Raspberry/White Grape Juice Concentrate

Prepare Almond Paste Layer, using: > ½ lb. blanched almonds*

Process dry, blanched almonds until smooth. To processor, add: > 2 egg whites

Process until fairly smooth. Add: > 1 ½ c. confectioner's sugar > ½ TBS. almond extract

Set almond paste aside.

Prepare chocolate mousse filling, and frosting for cake. For that, microwave 30 seconds or so, and stir until melted: > ½ c. plus ⅓ c. semi-sweet chocolate chips > 2 ½ TBS. water

Set the melted chocolate mixture aside and let cool off some. Meanwhile, whip just until soft peaks form: > The 4 ¼ c. chilled Creme Fraiche (or substitute straight whipping cream)

To prepare the Chocolate Mousse, fold into the cooled chocolate mixture: > Approx. 1-2 c. of the above whipped Creme Fraiche.

Set aside. Meanwhile, to the rest of the whipped Creme Fraiche add: > 1 c. Confectioner's sugar > 1 TBS. vanilla

Set the frosting aside.

Split the sponge cake into three layers using serrated knife, setting the first layer (cut-side up) on a cardboard cake square (or flat, square plate). Set the other two layers on wax paper, cut side up. Drizzle the raspberry mixture over the cut side of all three layers.

For the first layer, after adding the raspberry mixture, add about half of the chocolate mousse mixture. Next, add half the Almond Paste, rolled out into a 9" square. Roll it between two layers of plastic wrap, then lift onto the cake, pulling the top half of the plastic wrap off afterwards.

For the next layer, carefully set the middle layer of cake drizzled with raspberry syrup, on top of first layer of cake, raspberry, and almond paste. Add the other half of the chocolate mousse mixture. Also, add the second half of the almond paste, again rolled into a 9" square.

Finally, lift the top layer of cake (raspberry side down) onto the other two layers.

Frost the cake with the Whipped Crème Fraiche/Confectioner's sugar mixture. Decorate accordingly. Can make a day ahead.

*If blanching your own almonds, let them dry before processing, for a smoother almond paste. Spread them on a couple of cookie sheets to air-dry (or leave in an oven that's been warmed, but turned off).
