Also on Sunday: The most ridiculous country music lineup to hit Austin in years plays in Waterloo Park, yes, super-close to the Ben Harper show at the Capitol. Party in the Park is an absolutely jam-packed $32.50 ticket: Pat Green headlines, with Cory Morrow, Jack Ingram, Ryan James, Brandon Rhyder, and Rich O'Toole. The least famous of the six is a major up-and-comer in the Texas country scene. I'm telling you, it's worth sitting outside the gates in your sweaty Nike gear to hear these guys!

There's also Bat Fest on South First, and south of the river they’ll be staging for the Austin Tri Monday morning ... Austin is so busy!

And then there's Monday. Free Day of Yoga. You'll probably need it if your weekend shapes up to be anything like mine ... party Friday, volleyball and tailgating Saturday, volleyball and running Sunday ... stretch me out! I haven't heard of a yoga studio in Austin that ISN'T doing it, but there's a schedule on the website if you want to make sure you can find your fave. The new Yankee Stadium will open on April 16 with a game against the Cleveland Indians.

Tak się złożyło, że nie dojechałem jednak w tym roku na Opener. Wiem, wiem, wymądrzałem się, że wielki europejski festiwal, że warto itd. Wiem. Okoliczności przyrody były jednak zgoła nieblogowe, więc na szybko sobie wyjaśniłem, że nic nie straciłem, choć na chłodno myśląc, to mimo wszystko szkoda mi The Raconteurs, CocoRosie i przede wszystkim boskiej Roisin. Temat zamknięty.

Na szczęście nie jest tak, że po zakończeniu gdyńskiego weekendu zamknęły się wrota interesujących muzycznie wydarzeń w naszym kraju. Już dzisiaj zaczyna się kolejna edycja festiwalu w Jarocinie, tym razem znacznie mniej undergroundowa, a bliższa mainstreamu. Oczywiście, dla KNO nie jest to żadnym zarzutem, bo KNO bardzo lubi to, co popularne. A w ten weekend w Jarocinie spotkać można np. CKOD, Lao Che, Waglewskich czy Kryzys (to z poważanych przeze mnie gwiazd polskich), jak i również Blood Red Shoes i przede wszystkim Bretta Andersona. Więc coś by się nawet na me wysublimowane podniebienie znalazło, ale raczej na 1 dzień, a nie 3. Chyba znów nie dotrę.

Wbrew temu, co pewnie myślicie, to jednak jeszcze nie koniec. Jest bowiem jeszcze większa impreza! Może nie pod względem promocji, ilości scen, widzów czy sprzedanych plastikowych kubków z piwem. Ale muzycznie – absolutne numero uno. Off Festiwal w osobie własnej.

Od 8 do 10 sierpnia w Mysłowicach czekać będzie prawdziwa uczta. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że nie jestem szczególnie zdyscyplinowanym blogerem, ale postaram się w najbliższych tygodniach krótko przedstawić najważniejsze moim zdaniem zapowiedzi z Offowej sceny. Dzisiaj tylko jeszcze krótszy przegląd.

To już trzecia edycja festiwalu, przygotowana ponownie pod niezawodnym dowództwem Artura Rojka, tym razem z jeszcze większym rozmachem niż w ubiegłym roku. Organizatorzy przygotowali aż 4 sceny i naprawdę imponujący line-up. Największą gwiazdą wydaje się być szkocka formacja post-rockowa Mogwai (o niej dużo szerzej w następnej notce), ale dalej wcale nie jest gorzej. Na widzów czekać będzie spora dawka ożywczego indiepopu spod znaku Of Montreal (nie, nie są z Montrealu ;) i Menomeny , psychopopowej elektroniki w wydaniu Caribou (podobne występy live są iście szalone), krautrockowy liverpoolski Kling Klang, czy kolejna liverpoolska Indie-gwiazda, Clinic. Jakby komuś było jeszcze mało, to niech pamięta, że nie wymieniłem nawet wszystkich artystów zagranicznych. W kolejce są jeszcze polskie formacje, m.in. Fisz/Emade, Budyń, Bajzel, Lao Che, Czesław Śpiewa, Jacaszek itd. A nie wspomniałem jeszcze o wielkim wydarzeniu, na jakie niewątpliwie szykuje się koncert supergrupy Iron&Wine w kościele ewangelickim w Mysłowicach. Uff, będzie się działo.

Obiecuję, że już od jutra postaram się napisać coś więcej o kilku z powyżej wymienionych formacji. Dziś, w ramach aperitifu, mój ulubiony utwór Mogwai (niestety, nie ma lepszej jakości na YT):
