But I'll try to explain what it is in a more elaborative way...

INSPIRIT Arena is a Multiplayer 3D strategy turn based online game.

Multiplayer : It is intended to be played by more than 1 player, an opponet is required in this game.
The game it self more or less similar to a chess battle, 2 players minimum.

3D : The game shader engine is producing 3D images that become the main visual representation along the game, except at some screen where the graphic is 2D art. The interface screen for example.

And while we're on the rune battle set creator - room interface, as told in the background story, we, as the rune hunters must collect runes and use them for battle against another rune hunter(s) in the arena.
The runes are collected from booster packs bought from rune shop, player will get 10 random selected runes from all of the races / affiliations, in the rarity level, most of them are common, some are uncommon, and the rare runes are the hardest to find / collect. In the closed beta version, player can have gold in many ways, weekly or direct request to the GM, in the real version, player must access numbers from vouchers that can be bought via game centres or online ( in development ).

Strategy : or tactical means the player do not use hand and eye coordination to do headshots or have to maneuver ship to avoid hundreds of plasma bullets. instead, player as rune hunters must use strategic thinking and tactical decisions to prevail in this game. You have limited SPIRIT that also your hit point (live) and summoning / activating runes to unlock its powers you have to spend them, so summoning hordes of armies will make your character fragile. And like the chess game, there will be sacrifice move and traps move, your wit and your management skill is put to the test here.

Turn Based : Not simultanously, but the game progress by taking turn between you and your opponent. Yes, games like front mission, heroes of might and magic, and final fantasy tactics are best example of turn based games. In this type of game, the player are given the illusion of more tactical and more pleasure at making traps and eliminating armies you enemy had ( or once had ).

Online: Yes, you can challenge your cousin at Bali while you at Jakarta.

But some general and easy descriptions can call this Inspirit Arena a combination of Magic the Gathering trading card game and heroes of might and magic with a pinch of World of Warcraft look and feel. But please don't too excited at spreading this game with this in mind.

For about 14 years now I've been trying to write some form of football management game. Feeble attempts using Visual Basic in the mid-nineties never quite cut it. I moved to developing one for the web, using ASP classic and later on PHP. Work or other commitments always got in the way though. I've now finally decided that I will write the management game that is within me.

Back when I started looking at writing one for the web it was a rather empty market. There was the odd online management game but most people used the Internet for fantasy football rather than managing a team. Nowadays there are more management games than there are variations of the same Umbro England jersey. So I have a bit of a challenge to stand out amongst them all.

In order to stand out from the crowd I've set myself two rules. #1. Make a very good football game. #2. Have a story that follows the game and adds to the enjoyment, pressure, tension and excitement. Easier said than done.

In all the years I've been wanting to write a game i have probably written about 50 different ones in my head. Its now a case of getting all the good and unique ideas i had come up with and getting some into the game. I see this first game as being the first step into what I finally want to deliver. That is a secret for now though.

So this game. It's called Football '83 and its a football game set around the early to mid 1980s. Football clubs are sporting and community clubs, there isn't hype everywhere you look and rivalry between clubs usually have a foundation, rather than being spun by media or story tellers. I'll write more on what the game hopes to acheive later.

The Medals are finally out! We know you have been waiting a long time, and here they are. As you may already know, the four medals are Premium Member, Veteran, Beta User, and Pro Gamer. Here is a little guide on how the medals work.

User Level
Displayed on the front of a player’s ID card, a level will be displayed. That number is the total of your medal levels combined.

Premium Member Medal	This is worth a flat 15 points to your level, for all our great premium members.
Beta Member Medal	Five points are given for those who helped our test phase. Thanks guys!
Veteran Medal	This is awarded for long term players but is a little different from the beta medal. This can be leveled up! You get 1 point for each month you have been playing after your first month. Confused? Its July now, lets say you registered in May, that was three months ago. So that is two additonal months after registering, yielding you two points. If you have been around since January, it would be worth 6 points.
Pro Gamer Medal	This is what its all about, playing our games and actually being proud of your score. This medal can also be leveled up. You need to get a high score in each game for a level. You get 2 points per game if you reach the top three high scores. You are awarded one point for being in the top 10. You can only get 2 max points total in each game. You don’t get 2 points every time you get the high score, and you won’t get three points if you first get in top 10, then top three. It caps out at 2 points per game. With 19 games so far, and more in the works, you can get 38 points from this pin!

So after interruptions aplenty and spending about 3 hours getting to know the system and writing code, I'm done with server- and client-side of this goofy little app:

I wasn't kidding when I said little, but nevertheless it works.  Games save on the server, the client connects, can search open games, you can password-protect games, join up with other players online, and... play 10 second games.  This was a good exercise testing the way the system works.  Perhaps this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.  Or another system to put on the "done that" list and move on, we'll see.

That was because Neo, the owner of the game, is the only person that can reset the round; and he was on holiday at the time Kris won the round. The reset was over a week later and, by then, many players had bought the 'Best Good' and were no longer investing. I chose to continue investing and, (as far as I know as I wasn't online at the time of the reset), I was about 5th richest at the reset. Unfortunately, the majority of my spenn was invested in stock and not the best good. I had enough of the best good to be 10th and so, I assume, that is where I finished.

New Constitution

We've finally agreed on a new Constitution that the Government will pass. It has taken around 6 and half weeks to get to this stage, a new election is due soon, but at least we have the foundation in place for future Parliaments. The constitution that we voted on a couple of weeks ago went to Government and they asked for a couple of changes, none of which harm the Constitution in any way, and so we agreed. We still have to have another vote on the amendments, but I think it's a formality and we have a new Constitution. I'll keep you informed as to further political developments.

In other news, well.. loads really. President Silverdragon and I are having minor disagreements over nothing much as usual, and one or two former players have returned. One returner in particular has made some good suggestions as to changes to the game, some of which I am very much in favour of.  Arenji is seemingly politically active, a former MoDA it seems. One of his suggestions is for a competitive newspaper structure, it's a very good idea and apparantly similar to an idea by Cagecrawler. I think it's going to be added at some point in the future so I'm very pleased.

Mr Goodstuff seems to have taken on the mantle of 'promoter' of the game with some excellent initiatives. He has made suggestions for a new logo for Jottonia (needed imho), created a ' newbie tutorial' to try to help new players learn and understand the game, (at some point I will post a copy here), and has now offered three months worth of Aristocracy to anybody that can 'recruit' 20 players to Jottonia. (If you join, or have joined, Jottonia because of this diary, be sure to send him a mail ;) )

Oh of course, I nearly forgot, the power battle. Well, Captain Griffen won his case, in part. The verdict was correct in my opinion and opened up a route for all PM's to sue for compensation in a class action. However, just as moves were underway to organise it, the round was reset and therefore the case never happened. Chief Justice McMahon ruled that Captain Griffen's constitutional rights had been breached by the imposition of a 'lockdown' and awarded compensation. Of course, that meant all PM's that had been subject to the same 'lockdown' could also claim compensation. It would certainly have been an interesting precedent had we filed the case.

The lockdown had been lifted by the time the verdict was in, we had also debated, amended and created a new constitution for voting, AND passed it! Kris Even had also already bought the Winner's Trophy so the round was effectively over too. It's my opinion that the Courts of Jottonia run too slowly and my wish to speed them up. I've started a small debate in Pinto's of which the speed of the courts is a small part to gauge other players opinions before suggesting changes. Basically, I'm trying to avoid conflict with President Silverdragon as he tends to not like much of my discussion material. It seems the most innocuous comments can wind him up so I have to be careful what I say, (or how I say it).
