Hier ein paar topaktuelle Trainingsbilder vom heutigen Vormittagstraining und der Beweis, dass Kompany pünktlich um 10 Uhr seinen Dienst beim HSV wieder aufgenommen hat. Morgen nach dem 12 Uhr Training ist Abreise zum Saisonauftakt nach München.

 Update: Nach seiner Rückkehr am heutigen Tag, hat Kompany nochmal kräftig verbal nachgelegt und mit seinen Äußerungen sein Unverständnis über die Rückholaktion bekräftigt. Manchmal wäre es besser, lieber keine Interviews zu geben. Jeder kann verstehen, dass Vincent heiss auf Olympia und enttäuscht ist. Aber es gab nunmal Abmachungen und der HSV hätte ihn auch gar nicht ziehen lassen müssen. Die Erlaubnis für zwei Olympia-Spiele beruhte da auf reiner Kulanz seitens des Vereins und Kompany hat nicht das geringste Recht herumzumosern. Er zeigt sich trotzig und bockig wie ein kleines Kind und findet es "schwach, wenn man immer und ständig auf einer Person herumhacken würde". Er wäre in seinem belgischen Nationalstolz verletzt, sei immer "zu nett und zu sehr Gentleman" und hätte "von allen Seiten niemals Verständnis erhalten". Na dann, Vincent... Was hat Vince bitte in China geraucht? Langsam aber sicher verärgert er mich zunehmends. Ich kann nur hoffen, dass seitens der FIFA in vier Jahren zu Olympia in London im Vorfeld eindeutige Regelungen bezüglich der Abstellung von Olympiateilnehmern getroffen werden. Was bleibt abschliessend zu sagen? Ich würde Kompany nach den Äußerungen nicht mit nach München nehmen.

Il secondo quarto di finale di questo Euro 2008 è stato noioso per 118 minuti, il tempo per Klasnic di entrare ed insaccare un gol confezionato per bene da Rustu con una papera storica, ed il tempo per Senturk di pareggiare e per la difesa croata di dormire proprio quando non era ora di dormire. L'equazione è semplice, Croazia distrutta dal gol all'ultimo secondo, Turchia galvanizzata al massimo dall'ennesima vittoria all'ultimo secondo, e i rigori sono una pacchia per Rustu, che vede sfilare il pallone fuori per 2 volte e poi ci mette del suo parando il rigore di Petric.

Bilic, il simpatico ct metallaro ed avvocato della Croazia, vede sfumare il sogno della vita all'ultimissimo secondo, lamentandosi per gli ultimi 20 secondi lasciati da Rosetti ai Turchi. Purtroppo per lui però non c'è niente di irregolare, la partita doveva finire con la fine di quella azione. Bilic dovrebbe prendersela con i suoi uomini, incapaci di metter da parte certezze e stanchezze e di andare in difesa per respingere l'ultimo assedio. Ma Bilic dovrebbe prendersela anche con la fortuna, che sta aiutando fin troppo i Turchi.

Per carità, non è solo fattore C quello de "L'Imperatore" Terim. E' anche costanza, determinazione, gruppo e cuore, tanto cuore. Brava la Turchia dunque, a crederci fino all'ultimo, cosa che nessun'altra squadra avrebbe fatto. Ma un applauso a Bilic e ai suoi ragazzi, che hanno battuto i tedeschi (fin ora sono gli unici ad averlo fatto) e hanno chiuso il girone a punteggio pieno, giocando bene, e sprecando poco. I Croati hanno sprecato invece troppo nella partita decisiva, Olic ha divorato un gol prendendo la traversa a porta libera e Kranjcar fa lo stesso di testa. E'mancata la lucidità ai croati, che comunque si confermano squadra sorpresa e probabile rivelazione dei Mondiali 2010. La Killer dell'Inghilterra e della Germania cade contro la Turchia, a far lo sgambetto è ancora lui, Terim, che adesso proverà a fermare l'armata di Ballack e Podolski. Ci riuscirà?

Und Türkei? Was für ein Dusel. Unglaublich, wie sie es schaffen die Spieße in letzter Sekunde umzudrehen. Die ARD schaltet nach Kreuzberg, wo noch ganz höflich gefeiert wird. Hatte der Reporter offenbar nicht den Mut, zum Ku-damm zu fahren. Denn hier sammelte sich anscheinend die gesamte türkische Gemeinde Berlin-Brandenburgs. In einer schier endlosen Hupkaravane ziehen die Fahrzeuge in Richtung West-City an unseren Fenstern vorbei.

Nun denn, Mittwoch sollte man vielleicht doch relativ kurzfristig auswandern...

PS: Auch wenn Olic bei dieser Szene kritisiert wird, er gibt in seinem Pech wirklich alles - aber kein einziger "Team"-Player ist mitgelaufen.

Croatia started the game on the backfoot, but had the best chance to score when Olic put a gilt edged cross by Modric onto the crossbar before Kranjcar headed the rebound wide.  That should have been 1-0.  Of course, Turkey would probably have scored two goals at the end of regulation to beat Croatia in regular time!  As it was, Croatia outplayed Turkey in the second half and would have gone ahead but for some excellent keeping by Rustu Recber who recovered from a shaky start.  He palmed over a goal bound Srna free kick before blocking a few more Olic opportunities.  Olic worked hard, got in position, but was wasteful.  Kranjcar was the invisible man before being substituted in the second half and Modric had flashes of creativity while floating in and out of the game.

To extra time, and Turkey suddenly seemed to pick it up again.  Maybe Sanli and Turan realized they were not going to have to save anything for the semi finals since they are going to be suspended.  Good chances were created, but no goals.  So, of course, everything happens in the last three minutes.  In the 119th minute, Rustu suddenly went Nikopolidis-walkabout along the goal line and Modric picked up the ball and crossed it for Klasnic to put it into the net behind a scrambling Rustu.  Surely this meant the game was over.  Key play - it's 1minute into injury time and Rakitic has the ball.  He dribbles past two Turks, looks up, sees two of his teammates breaking in the center circle and launches a through ball.  Offside.  If only he had continued his dribble, or dropped off a simple lateral pass or even kicked it to the corner.  But, no.  Rustu grabbed the ball before it rolled to far, set it down and launched a blast that got nodded in some confusion at the top of the Croatian box and dropped for Semih Senturk to turn an unstoppable finish into the top left hand corner.  Bilic went crazy asking why there were two minutes of injury time.  Whatever. 

Whatever the Turks teach their goalies, saving penalties must be one.  Of course, Volkan's deputy was the hero - Rustu saved the final penalty and Croatia put another two wide of the goal.  Game over.  Croatia is crushed.  If only ...

For a positive rant.  Whatever one may say of the modern pro loving his club more than his country, all you had to do was see Srna sobbing - and he had a great game, and scored his penalty - after the game to know how much international tournaments mean to players.  It is so nice to see and reminds us that's it not about the money when you flash back to why you started playing the game as a kid and the fantasies you had about winning the World Cup for your country. 

Big topic over the next few days - will Turkey be able to field even 15 players for the semi final given the suspensions and injuries?

Nella CROAZIA giocatori che stanno facendo la differenza al centrocampo sono Modric (Tottenham) e Srna (Shakhtar Donetsk), per quanto riguarda l'attacco c'è Olic (Amburgo) che ha segnato proprio contro la GERMANIA dove lui gioca attualmente con la sua squadra di club.

La TURCHIA in questo Europeo ha subito molti infortuni, pare che abbia solamente 15 giocatori che stanno bene fisicamente, chi sta facendo bene in questa squadra è Arda Turan (Galatasaray) molto bravo nel costruire il gioco e anche nell'interdizione, l'attaccante di peso è Nihat (Villarreal) già autore di una doppietta proprio contro la REPUBBLICA CECA.

Per questa partita vedo bene la quota goal che sta a 1.80.

Turkey has some major gaps to fill through injury and suspension. They will be without captain Emre Belozoglu because of a hamstring injury since their opening game, Emre Gungor is out for the rest of the tournament with a calf problem and Sevet Cetin and Tumer Metin will miss the Croatia game due to injury. Goalkeeper Volkan Demirel and Mehmet Aurelio are suspended, with Volkan potentially missing the semi final game as well.

Turkey does have enough firepower and desire with the front trio of Nihat, Tuncay and Turan.  However, this is the match where I expect Niko Kranjcar to finally step up, much like Schweinsteiger did for Germany.  He has great technique and a great shot - let's see how Rustu deals with being the starter.

• Complimenti a Schweinsteiger per la figura di merda più bella dell'anno. Entra, si mangia un gol grosso come una casa e si fa espellere XD.

Cronaca di Croazia - Germania

Cronaca Austria - Polonia.

Germany’s performance made me almost have to retire CH12.  The crystal ball was looking very opaque.  Football reiterated to me – “CH12, you think you know me but you don’t.”  Or to paraphrase  Biggie, “If you don’t know, now you know”… that you don’t know as much as you think. 

Croatia did improve their performance as I anticipated, and Olic and company did give Mertesacker and Metzelder problems.  However, the first goal was Jansen’s fault, not the central defenders’, while the second Croatian goal was lucky but the two M’s didn’t react as quickly as Olic.  Modric was great in the first 20 minutes, the last 20 minutes and skated through the time in between.  However, Kovac and Pranjic picked up the slack during that period, the defense was solid and, if not for Kranjcar’s profligacy, the game should have been over in the first half and the result could have resembled Spain’s scoreline against Russia.  Coach Loew, Fritz is not working out.  Start Schweinsteiger – Podolski and he were the only ones who showed a sense of urgency.  Too bad you won’t be able to yell Bastian till the quarters at the earliest given his silly red card, but something needs to change on the wing.  Odonkor is not really the answer either.  Maybe Hitzlsperger.  Super Mario - you are killing me.  It may be time for Kuranyi to start.  He's good in the air and better on the ground than Mario has shown himself to be in this tournament. 

Having said all that, I give Bilic credit.  They played well and didn’t let the Germans play their game.  I have to also give them credit on the set up work on the first goal.  The pass into the box sucked the right back into the striker, but instead of turning or laying it off to his teammate in the center of the park, he sent it back to the passer who had all the time and space to make the telling cross.  It was very much like an inbounds play in basketball where the ball goes back to the inbounding player and no one is there to pick him up.  And of course, they needed Jansen to be asleep on the back post, but that’s already been picked up in the earlier rant.  

Man of the match for Croatia was Modric for asking for, and taking care of, the ball when he needed to; Rakitic was also brilliant in spots. For Germany, Podolski again was their best player on the pitch.

The second game gets going, gets toward the end and I am starting to have confidence in the crystal ball again… and then injury time happens.  That’s two picks that have been blown after the 90 minute mark.  Not that I am keeping score or anything but I am now at 50% at 6 and 6. Good thing I don’t bet on games.   

Watching Austria blow two one on ones – too bad Harnik’s not an out and out striker – and one point blank shot, I had no doubt that it was going to come back to bite them.  It’s the same as when the shooter doesn’t throw the dice hard enough to hit the back wall – you almost always seven out.  Boruc kept Poland in the game and, sure enough, Roger scored a goal – offside though it was.  Poland actually played well thereafter, with Roger and Krzynowek (that man has a harder left foot than Jon Arne Riise, and that’s saying something) creating options every time they came down the field.  It was probably a just result that Austria pulled a goal back but it’s ridiculous that they called that a penalty after all the tugging and pulling that has gone on, and will continue to go on, unpunished in dead ball situations.  Great penalty.  Anelka, that’s how you strike it.  Man of the match for Poland was Boruc, though Roger ran him a close second; for Austria, I was digging Korkmaz.

On to the game of the tournament.  I can’t wait.  Italy vs Romania…  Okay, so that’s a close second to the other game – Holland (that’s what you call them when they play fantasy football.  If they lose, they are back to Netherlands IMB… In My Book for you non literary 18 year olds) vs France.  Hup Oranje, Allez Francaise… Forza Italia?? 

KLAGENFURT (Aut), 12 giugno 2008 - Sorpresa a Klagenfurt: la Germania cade. E lo fa pesantemente, più di quanto non dica il 2-1 finale a favore della Croazia. I tedeschi soffrono la migliore organizzazione di gioco della nazionale di Blic, vanno sotto per le reti di Srna e Olic, non riuscendo a recuperare neppure dopo la rete di Poodolski. Un risultato, quello maturato allo stadio Wothersee, che consente alla Croazia di qualificarsi per i quarti, mentre la Germania resta ferma a quota 3 e dovrà sudarsi l'accesso ai quarti nell'ultimo turno, con la prospettiva di incontrare subito lo spauracchio Portogallo.
FORTE COI FORTI - La Croazia di Bilic dimostra di saper dare il meglio contro le grandi, come già era parso chiaro nel girone di qualificazione alla fase finale: lì aveva steso più volte Russia, Israele e soprattutto l'Inghilterra, facendosi invece sorprendere dalla Macedonia. All'esordio a Euro 2008, il sofferto 1-0 contro l'Austria non aveva raccontato tutta la verità su questo gruppo di giocatori dotati tecnicamente e ben diretti dal vulcanico c.t. Bilic. I croati avevano offerto una prestazione modesta, ben diversa dall'eccellente primo tempo disputato contro la Germania.
KRANJCAR DA BRIVIDI - Dopo una prima fase di gara piuttosto equilibrata, gli slavi prendono in mano le operazioni: Niko Kovac mette la museruola a Ballack, Modric dirige l'orchestra e Olic duetta alla perfezione con Kranjcar, la cui posizione è un rebus irrosolvibile per i centrali tedeschi. Al 24', è Srna a indovinare la spaccata vincente per l'1-0: Mertesacker e soprattutto Jansen se lo dimenticano sul cross di Pranjic, rendendo vano il tentativo di Lehmann. Ci si attenderebbe la reazione furiosa dei tedeschi, ma l'unico pericolo per Pletikosa è una punizione-bomba di Ballack. Brividi molto maggiori dall'altra parte, con Kranjcar due volte protagonista: il talento del Portsmouth prima vanifica con un tiraccio una splendida combianzione tra Rakitic e Olic, poi si riscatta con un sinistro che esalta i riflessi di Lehmann. Si va all'intervallo e l'impressione è che l'1-0 per i croati sia un affare per la Germania, più vicina al tracollo che al pareggio.
FALCO OLIC - Loew capisce che deve cambiare qualcosa e lascia negli spogliatoi l'incerto Jansen per puntare sulla velocità di Odonkor. L'esito della mossa non è quello sperato. Nella prima parte della ripresa non succede nulla di notevole, perché gli spazi concessi dai croati sono minimi. Finché, al 17', arriva l'episodio che indirizza ancora di più la gara dalla parte della Croazia. Su un cross proveniente dalla destra, Podolski devia il pallone che sbatte sul palo, ingannando Lehmann: Olic è pronto per il comodo tap-in che vale il 2-0.
PODOLSKI ILLUDE - Loew getta nella mischia Schweinsteiger al posto del deludente Gomez, riportando Podolski in attacco. La mossa si rivela azzeccata, perché "Poldi" è al posto giusto al 34', quando una carambola tra Ballack e Robert Kovac gli aggiusta il pallone: gran botta e gol dell'1-2, partita riaperta. Dentro anche Kuranyi, allora, al posto di Fritz. Con il 4-3-3, i tedeschi spingono alla ricerca del pari, ma non creano mai pericoli veri per Pletikosa. Anzi, finiscono pure in dieci perché Schweinsteiger perde la testa e viene espulso nel finale, per uno spintone a Leko. Il suo Europeo potrebbe anche essere finito qui, mentre quello della Croazia andrà avanti almeno altre due partite.

Com gols anotados no início de cada tempo, a Croácia foi superior: lidou bem com a pressão alemã e mereceu a vitória.

O time alemão apresentou dificuldades em superar a marcação da equipe croata. Jansen não foi bem na lateral esquerda e havia problemas na ligação entre meio e ataque. O esquema com apenas um meia, montado pelo técnico Low é uma das explicações.

Para jogar com três atacantes - Klose, Gomez e Podolski - o treinador abdicou de um meia e deixou apenas Ballack com a responsabilidade de armar o time.

No entanto, jogar com três atacantes não é garantia de ofensividade. Podolski não é um jogador adequado para voltar e buscar jogo.

O time croata entrou num 4-5-1, com apenas Olic como jogador ofensivo. Modric, Kranjicar e Niko Kovac funcionaram bem no meio e os laterais Corluka e Pranjic atuaram de modo eficiente. Corluka se aproveitou da avenida aberta por Jansen no lado esquerdo da defesa alemã.

O jogo
Srna foi a única alteração na Croácia em relação ao time que estreou contra a Suiça. E foi justamente Srna quem abriu o placar: após bela troca de passes na esquerda aos 23 minutos, Pranjic cruzou e o meia croata se antecipou a Jansen.

O time balcânico procurava jogadas curtas e toques rápidos para envolver a Alemanha. Já os germânicos não conseguiam repetir o padrão de jogo apresentado no jogo contra a Polônia. Assim, a vitória parcial da Croácia era justa.

Schweinsteiger e Odonkor entraram na Alemanha, substituindo Gomez e Jansen, respectivamente. Lahm foi para a lateral esquerda e Odonkor foi improvisado na direita. As mudanças deixaram o time alemão mais equilibrado taticamente. Com isso, o time exerceu mais pressão sobre a Croácia.

Ironicamente, quando o empate alemão parecia iminente, foi a Croácia quem marcou. Rakitic cruzou da direita, a zaga tentou cortar e após tocar na trave, a bola sobrou limpa para Olic. O atacante croata só empurrou e fez 2 x 0 no placar com 16 minutos.

De tanto pressionar, a Alemanha diminuiu aos 33 minutos. No desespero, o técnico alemão pôs Kuranyi em campo e deixou o time com quatro atacantes para tentar o empate. Mas a defesa croata conseguiu segurar a pressão alemã.

Nos descontos, Schweinsteiger foi expulso após sofrer falta e revidar. Foi o primeiro cartão vermelho da Eurocopa 2008. Agora, a Croácia tem seis pontos, contra três da Alemanha. Na próxima rodada do grupo B, jogarão Croácia x Polônia e Alemanha x Áustria.

Austria will give Poland a run for their money but the Poles will come through - they have to with Croatia having beaten Austria.  However, it's going to be tight.  Austria know that if they lose this game, they have a high likelihood of getting blanked at this tournament with Germany being their next and last opponent.  A draw is likely but I give the nod to Poland as I still think they go through ahead of Croatia.

Seconda giornata, esordio della seconda padrona di casa, seconda sconfitta, secondo 1 a 0. Tutto molto lineare anche a Vienna, dove una cinica ma poco tecnica Austria perde per un rigore (sacrosanto) calciato dal gioiello croato Modric. Partita un pò noiosa, molto combattuta, con pochi tocchi di classe e molti contrasti.

Dunque sfortunata anche l'Austria, che in realtà ha cominciato malissimo concedendo un rigore subito agli avversari per un fallo grossolano. Forti del vantaggio, i Croati hanno fatto il gioco per una buona mezz'ora, sono andati vicini al raddoppio un paio di volte, ma hanno sofferto la forza e l'altezza dei difensori Austriaci. Così i padroni di casa si sono svegliati nell'ultimo quarto d'ora del primo tempo e per tutto il secondo tempo, producendo molte azioni e molte occasioni, ma mai il gol del pareggio.

L'Austria da la sensazione di essere una squadra non messa bene in campo, ognuno gioca per se, in ogni modo, significativo infatti il numero di falli, e non c'è un vero e proprio faro, uno che giostra il gioco. O meglio, era in panchina, ed è entrato solo a metà secondo tempo, cambiando il volto alla partita: parlo di Ivica Vastic.

Invece quel giocatore che fa da faro ce l'ha la Croazia, e parlo invece di Modric, che segna il rigore, ma sopratutto mette ordine a centrocampo e confeziona assist splendidi, peccato per qualche errore di troppo, forse poca esperienza, ma crescerà bene il giocatore del Tottenham. Croazia più quadrata come squadra, che però da la sensazione di essere troppo staccata, ad un certo punto della gara Difesa e Centrocampo non aiutavano le due punte, che erano costrette a tenere palla contro i mastini austriaci. Mi è piaciuto moltissimo Olic della Croazia, un vero lavoratore, con i piedi buoni, da osservare anche nelle prossime partite.

La Croazia comunque fa suo quel motto che dice "nel calcio vince chi sbaglia di meno" e porta a casa 3 punti pesanti, bravo e fortunato Bilic.

The last 15 minutes were great.  Austria put unrelenting pressure on Croatia and should have leveled at the death with a header by the big substitute, Kienast, flashing just past the post.  Austria's man of the match for me was Korkmaz, even though he came on only in the 69th minute.  He took the right back on time and again - he should start based on this performance.  Ivanschitz had a decent game in spots.  Croatia's player was Olic - slim pickings but he worked the hardest.

If Croatia plays this way, and you could see the absence of Eduardo showing in the lack of firepower upfront, I feel comfortable that Poland will see them off for second as I predicted in my previous post.

Group A: Still think Portugal wins this group though I think if there is an upset possibility, it's that the Turks maybe roll them before the tournament gets going. Wouldn't be surprised if the Turks or even the Swiss pip the Czechs for second place but I think it's still the Czech Republic through in second place.

Group B: Germany wins this and even though Croatia plays some stylish football I am going to go on a limb and pick Poland to finish second. Eduardo missing is a big loss that Modric and Niko Kranjcar are not going to be able to make up though Olic is nice.

Group C: The tough one. Italy have suffered a major setback with Cannavaro done for the tournament. No Nesta, no Cannavaro and possibly the big Stiff with the stiff chest, Materazzi, on the bench means Chiellini and Barzagli starting in the middle. Sorry, not going to happen in terms of their winning the tournament no matter what Pirlo says about their mental state being better than at the World Cup. This isn't the World Cup where they can sleepwalk through the first round, almost losing to the US and then squeaking by Australia. This group is as tough as it gets in world football. No Robin van Persie for the first game means if the Dutch lose against Italy, they are up against it. No Viera is a good thing for France in my book. Diarra or Toulalan with Maka is better than Patrick and Maka. He's lost more than a step in class. Whichever of the three wins the most points off Romania goes through - I think it will be Netherlands and France. Love that man Ribery and hope Evra starts instead of Abidal.

Group D: Spain and Russia. End of story.

I still stand by Portugal v Spain for the title. However, Spain will get knocked out in the quarters if they don't improve massively relative to their performance against the US. You can't play Torres up front alone and expect to get it done. No real wingers to stretch the defense in the squad I saw. There's no Joaquin, no Vicente, no Capel. Aragones is crazy for thinking a whole bunch of Cescs are what you can use in midfield and expect to win. Play Cesc and Xavi or Iniesta. Then get offense on one wing, use a holding midfielder like Senna and get another striker up front. They need Villa in the worst way. And Puyol looks like he is past the Use By date.

Damit ist die erste von zwei Generalproben der Mannschaft um den Trainer Slaven Bilić für die Euro 2008 in der Schweiz und Österreich gut gelungen. Doch leider konnten die Erwartungen eines hoen Sieges nicht erfüllt werden, was an der noch nicht erreichten Form der Mannschaft hängt. Den Siegtreffer erzielte der Kapitän der kroatischen Nationalmannschaft Niko Kovač per Kopfball nach einem glänzenden Eckstoßes des Schalker Spielers Ivan Rakitić.

Slaven Bilić konnte gestern 17 Spielern etwas Spielpraxis erteilen, nachdem die Spieler Dario Knežević, Niko Kranjčar, Darijo Srna und Mladen Petrić gefehlt haben.

Die erste Halbzeit des Spieles war entscheidend und für die Zuschauer noch am Sehenswertesten, da die kroatische Elf entsprechend viel Druck auf die gegnerische Abwehr ausüben konnte und durch Chancen von  Ivica Olić, Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić und Igor Budan den Spielstand erhöhen konnte.

Die zweite Halbzeit war in diesem Sinne farblos, da die jeweiligen Trainer entsprechend viele Auswechslungen veranlasst hatten und dadurch vielen Spielern Möglichkeiten zum Einrücken in den Kader geben wollten.

Das nächste Spiel ist am 31.05.2008 gegen Ungarn.

Ja, die Aktion war unglücklich. Ja, man hätte auch die Rote Karte geben können. Und ja, Wiese hat es danach mit seinen Äußerungen ("Wenn man genau hinschaut, sieht man, dass ich zuerst den Ball treffe") nicht besser gemacht. Aber - und dieses Aber ist an Größe nicht zu überbieten - will ihm da ernsthaft irgendjemand Absicht unterstellen? Wiese kam aus seinem Tor mit dem Ziel, den Ball wegzuschlagen. Er traf ihn nicht richtig und prallte stattdessen mit Ivica Olic zusammen. Irgendwo habe ich auch gelesen, dass Wieses Stollen die Halsschlagader des Kroaten "nur um Millimeter" verfehlt habe. Ein bisschen mehr Drama bitte...

Tatsache ist, die Gelbe Karte war berechtigt, weil Wiese in dieser Situation nicht letzter Mann war. Tatsache ist auch, Olic hat keine bleibenden Schäden erlitten und wird das nächste Mal vielleicht zweimal überlegen, ob er noch einmal hingeht, wenn ein Torhüter sein Tor verlässt. Denn wenn es darum geht, hat Wiese alles richtig gemacht. Über die Situationen in denen Spieler ihr Bein stehen lassen, wenn ein Torwart sich in den Ball schmeißt, redet überhaupt keiner mehr. Dabei ist das zehnmal gefährlicher. Torhüter haben einen extremen Job. Sie pendeln ständig zwischen Genie und Wahnsinn. Als Oliver Kahn damals mit gestrecktem Bein aus seinem Tor kam und den Dortmunder Spieler nur haarscharf verfehlte (nach 18 Sekunden), gab es einen kurzen Aufschrei, dann schmunzelte man darüber und wenig später war es schon Legende. Der Unterschied? Kahns Aktion war vorsätzlich. Wieses niemals.

Tim Wiese sollte ein bisschen an seiner Außendarstellung arbeiten. Freunde werden er und die Medien ohnehin nicht mehr. Aber mit solchen Aussagen, wie die direkt nach dem Spiel, stellt er sich immer wieder selbst an den Pranger. Hätte er nach dem Spiel gesagt, es tue ihm leid und es war - natürlich - keine Absicht, ich bin mir sicher die Kritik wäre glimpflicher ausgefallen. Doch mit dem reuelosen Statement gab er den Startschuss für die dann folgenden Schmähartikel. Dass er damit umgehen kann, hat er in den letzten Monaten gezeigt. Nach Kritik war er stets besser als vorher, allerdings nur solange, bis er wieder fast ganz oben war, um dann mit einem grandiosen Fehler wieder zurück zu fallen.

Der Weg des Tim Wiese ist einer zwischen den Extremen. Vielleicht braucht er auch diesen Presserummel um seine Person. Vielleicht wollte er den Beobachtern von Manchester United, die ihm jüngst ein Angebot gemacht haben sollen, auch nur zeigen: Sehr her, ich bin hart genug für die Premier League. Aber ganz davon ab, was die Medien danach aus seinem Auftritt gemacht haben, sollte sich der Bremer Keeper einfach mal ein halbes Jahr am Stück nur und ausschließlich auf seine Leistung konzentrieren. Denn dann braucht er solche Auftritte nicht mehr, um im Rampenlicht zu stehen. Die Medien würden ihm auch so genügend Aufmerksamkeit schenken.

With less than two months until Croatia play co-hosts Austria in their first match of Euro 2008, coach Slaven Bilic has fitness concerns over three of his strikers.

With top scorer Eduardo da Silva already out due to the leg and ankle break the sustained in February, several of Bilić's other forwards have endured turbulent campaigns. Of those Parma's Igor Budan, made his comeback in late January having been sidelined since the end of August, while Werder Bremen's Ivan Klasnic still requires time to reach full fitness following two kidney transplants. Completing the trio is Hamburg's Ivica Olic who suffered a thigh injury two weeks ago, and requires at least another week to recover.

"Eduardo is a huge loss for us, I am just praying our other strikers can keep fit in time for the summer" stated Bilic.

Viel zu berichten gibt es nicht: Volle Bude, tolle Plätze (9B, Reihe 1). Basel lahm, Einbahnstraßenfußball ohne Ernte.

Immerhin eine schöne Vorlage von Castelen, möge in der Rückrunde mehr davon folgen.
