However, there is aa audio facility I am looking for, and I decided a sampler might do it. "I know!", I thought, "I'll try eBay".

Pretty quickly I found a sampler and put in a couple of bids for one closing in 45 minutes.  At the last second, I supposed, someone with sniper software outbid me.  So, sniping software being $14 I thought  if I am going to win a bid I will have to get this utility.  But before I did, I read up on, 'How to win bids on eBay', which said not to bother with snipers - just do it this way - Dumbo!

I thought I would at least give it a try before buying the sniper;  but also, just in case there were only a couple of other folk beating me to the bids, I decided to use the technique in all the three samplers I could see.  Duh! It worked - I won all 3!! ... Which my bank balance cannot really support.  Ony wae, I will have to return 2 to eBay.  Anyone wanting to buy a sampler?

For the last several nights I have been trying to get to grips with my newly acquired sampler(s), reading the manual.  Well, one came with the manual.  But the sounds are so rich and sonorous I haven't managed to get beyond page 3 of the "Instant gratification" pages.  I keep getting side-tracked for hours at a time just playing the thing.  Must put up some examples!

My looper - the other part of this non-computer solution has flown back to Germany for repair - it wouldn't let go of the snake.  And after a quick skirmish on the chapel floor ...well, I had to send it back to it's makers with the end of a jack plug stuck between its socket teeth.

Similarly, my laptop is in hospital - I took it through to the kitchen to show it "on-line";  it went into a comma.  At least, I hope it's that and not more serious.

So I am currently digitally grounded - the god-of-digits sulking no doubt.  Eee, It's been a bad eMonth!

Plus you get 8 channel digital ADAT i/o for adding more preamps, a digital mixer, or syncing a multi track recorder if you want.
