Liebe Fans von Quentin Tarantino, da müsst ihr durch: Der Regisseur und Schauspieler hat einen Gastauftritt in der Muppets Version vom Zauberer von Oz. Ich verrate jetzt nicht was er macht weil das ja sonst den ganzen Spaß verdirbt - also mir macht es höllisch Spaß euch das NICHT zu verraten und ICH bin ja schließlich der führende Blogger in diesem Revier, also in meinem. ;-) Aber ja, er hat einen Gastauftritt und ich habe mich ganz köstlich amüsiert.

Ach, die Geschichte? Kennt jemand wirklich "Das Zauberhafte Land" mit Judy Garland NICHT? Ts. Na schön, der Film peppt das Ganze natürlich etwas auf, insofern: Dorothy Gale - Ashanti - lebt bei ihrer Tante Em - Queen Latifa - und ihrem Onkel Henry - Edward Hibbert - in Kansas und arbeitet in einem Fastfood-Restaurant. Ihr Traum: Einmal eine ganz große Sängerin werden. (Der erwachsene Zuschauer denke sich jetzt bitte die innere, äußerst zwingende Logik weg, dass man für diesen Part des Films schon eine Sängerin gecastet hat, sonst funktoniert der Film nicht.) Dummerweise verpasst sie die Chance bei der Muppets Talentshow mitzuwirken, bekommt aber ihr Demo bei Kermit wenigstens unter. Wenig später kommt der Tornado, der sie und Toto - a prawn übrigens, schlagts mal nach - in das magische Land Oz wirbelt. Haus landet auf Hexe, Munchkins (Rizzo plus Ratten) sind glücklich, Glinda erscheint - Miss Piggy, die auch alle anderen Hexenrollen spielt - Dorothy wird auf dem Weg nach Oz auf der gelben Steinstraße geschickt und trift Vogelscheuche - Kermit - TIN-Mann - Gonzo - und den ängstlichen Löwen - Fozzy Bear - der irgendwie sehr mit seinen Locken seinem Vorbild aus dem MGM-Film gleicht. Nach diesem Bravoursatz können eure Augen erstmal Atem holen.

Nach allerlei Gefahren landen sie in der Emerald City, wo der Zauberer höchst ungnädig ist: Dorothy soll ihm das allsehende Auge - nein, nicht das Schwarze - der bösen Hexe des Westens bringen. Diese greift mit ihrer Rockerbande aus fliegenden Affen auf fliegenden Motorrädern Dorothy an, natürlich singen die Affen den Walkürenritt, seufz, und will natürlich die silbernen Schuhe, die Dorothy trägt. Nachdem Dorothy die böse Hexe derbe ins Gesicht getreten hat - weil, wir sind ja immer noch in einem Familien-Kinderfilm und Schwerter und Flammen und so, nee - landet sie im Pool, sie schmilzt dahin - natürlich - und Dorothy kehrt mit dem allsehenden Auge zurück nach Oz. Dort entpuppt sich der Zauberer als Schwindler, der dennoch versucht sein Versprechen wahrzumachen: Ein Gehirn für Kermit, ein Herz für Gonzo und Courasche - sorry - Courage für Fozzy. Allerdings: Dorothy nach Kansas zurückzubringen gelingt ihm nicht, dazu muss sie wieder zu den Munchkins. Was wir alle natürlich schon immer geahnt haben: Dorothys Manolos können sie an jeden Ort der Welt bringen. (Man fragt sich dann natürlich, warum Dorothy eigentlich die ganze Zeit durch Oz latscht, aber gut, es gibt Dinge, die weiß man und es gibt Dinge, die weiß man nicht.) Hacken dreimal aneinandergeschlagen, voila, Dorothy ist wieder in Kansas. Ohne Toto, der lieber in Oz bleibt. (Gut, okay, wenn ich eine Prawn wäre und feststellen würde, dass ich auf einmal sprechen kann - Pepe spielt Toto - dann würde ich mir auch überlegen ob ich in ein doofes kleines Aquarium - ähm - eine Glaskugel - zurückkehren möchte oder nicht. Vermutlich - nein.) Dort stellt sich natürlich heraus: Dorothy hat den Wert der Familie kennengelernt, aber kann dennoch mit den Muppets touren, weil Kermit - mit dem Regisseur am Tisch übrigens - keine bessere Sängerin gefunden hat. Happy-End.

Sehen wir man von der Tatsache ab, dass Ashanti nicht schauspielern kann - ihr Gesichtsausdruck changiert meistens zwischen "Oh - ich bin ja sooo erfreut" und "Uargh - das ist ja sooo furchtbar" - und ich Queen Latifa  - was macht die eigentlich momentan? - auch nicht so besonders prall finde, aber gut, immerhin macht sie einen besseren Job als Ashanti... Gut, es ist keine Kunst besser als Ashanti zu sein, selbst David Hasselhoff ist besser als Ashanti in diesem Film. Sehen wir mal von der Rahmenahndlung also ab und nehmen wir Ashanti einfach als Debakel hin so macht der Film doch Spaß. Denn: Es sind Muppets drin. Das mag keine ernsthafte Begründung sein, ich bin aber auch nicht die Variety.

Gut, die computergenerierten Szenen beim Zauberer haben sichtlich schon einige Zeit auf dem Buckel - was sich in knapp zwei Jahren so alles ändern kann, doch, enorm, vielleicht reichte das Budget auch nicht für mehr, was wohl eher denkbar ist. Aber Miss Piggy in schwarzen Lederklamotten macht enorm viel Spaß, Kermit als Vogelscheuche und die Gags von Fozzy - nun - ich möchte nicht wissen wie sie die auf Deutsch übersetzt haben, ich kanns nochmal gegenchecken aber sowas wie "I'm playing the mane character" GEHT einfach nicht auf deutsch. Bis auf Rowlf sind alle Muppets vertreten und ich liebe den Auftritt von Sam. Dann hätte ich auch gerne eine magische Make-Over-Machine.

Besonders nett sind die Extras: Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen mit Pepe und ein etwas ausführlicheres Interview mit Quentin Tarantino mit Pepe. Recht witzig die Antwort auf die Frage, welche Muppets sich Quentin in welcher seiner Filmrollen vorstellen könnte - an der Stelle muss man sich natürlich fragen ob es wirklich so geschickt ist eine Anspielung auf die Filme von Tarantino - "Reservoir Frogs" oder "Kill Swill", bwahahahah - auf einen Film mit draufzunehmen, der eine FSK 0 hat. Nicht, dass die lieben Kleinen demnächst etwa nach der DVD von "Pulp Fiction" fragen... (Gut, man sollte die Kleinen auch nicht unbeobachtet bei Youtube Dinge eintippen lassen. Es gibt da Dinge - die vier Ponys der Apokalypse sind ja noch harmlos, aber das Ding mit Kermit als Vigilant, oi, oi, oi...) Na schön, die älteren Zuschauer werden sicherlich wissen wer Tarantino ist und was er gemacht hat.

Falls ihr also mal 96 Minuten lang Zeit habt, die Muppets mögt und der Neffe zu Besuch sein sollte oder die lieben Kleinen am Sonntag sich langweilen - mit dem Film macht ihr nichts verkehrt. Allerdings sollte man doch vorher besser die richtige Variante mit Judy Garland vorziehen und dann erst den Muppets-Film. Einige Anspielungen versteht man sonst nicht so ganz. Aber ansonsten macht das Teil schon Spaß. (Allerdings ist der Weihnachts-Film noch einen Tacken besser. Wie, ihr guckt keine Weihnachtsfilme im Sommer?)

Goole AFC Forum Tactics

So the test is now over.

I was approached by StuGoole to show the forum owners up by creating and account and putting on controversial comments about the club.

Well I decided to do this with a created name of IanWatson, it just happens to be the week when the club had a winding up notice issued on them. I put some comments on which are listed below and as you can all see are not Anti-Goole AFC but after just a weeks worth of constructive posts the account I used and email address I used have been BANNED by the two forum moderators.

This categorically proves without a shadow of a doubt that Goole AFC Forum is a closed shop to a privileged 10 to 15 contributors and anybody else is clearly not welcomed onto the site.

 StuGoole had told me it would take them up to 15 posts to ban me, well it was nearly correct.

 Any way on with the posts I made and some of the responses garnered from privileged members which as you can see where very supportive of my views, so the question is -----

 WHY WOULD THEY BAN ME

 If Dave or Andy (the moderators) want to dare leave a comment to explain themselves it would be most appriecated.

 Then I was banned without warning or reason, this shows how pathetic Dave and Andy are, slowly they are become known for been the Hitlers of Forum moderation.

 What here is funny is that StuGoole said he once had a forum and was hard on disrespect but he was told from AndyMorris to stop been a knobhead and stop deleting people and posts – now what is Andy doing to forum members.

This may be one reason why Goole AFC have sadly gone downhill – the closed shop approach to the forum and running the club.

There was this fast food place by my house in New Orleans called Rax... it was like a Roy Rogers, or an Arby's, basically just roast beef sandwiches.  I was eating one in the restaurant and bit down on what felt like a piece of metal. Turns out their roast beef is shipped in a can and the opener had shaved off a large hunk of metal which wound up in my sandwich.  They presented me with a free sandwiches for life card as an apology.  Then I was left with a conundrum, do I really want to eat roast beef sandwiches that I know came from a can even if they're free:

Oh, and also, it's been a while since I gave you all some Friday Frivolity, so here's Bert and Ernie like you've never seen them before (thanks to Rifftrax for pointing this one out. It all comes back to Mystery Science Theater in the end, doesn't it?).

Dieses Klischee wollen Black Kids dann aber doch nicht erfüllen. Die kreieren lieber einen gut gelaunten, fröhlichen, fast naiven Indierocksound mit smarten Lyrics. Eine Kombi, mit der die Black Kids im letzten Jahr die Ohren der Myspace-Jünger eroberten und sich so einen Plattenvertrag mit einem Major-Label erspielten. Auch nichts Neues in Zeiten des Web 2.0, wo der User die A&R Manager ersetzt. Der Sound der Black Kids wird dann sogar dem Hype gerecht. Reggie und Co. sind nicht eine weitere "Sesamstraßenindierockband", wie die Arctic Monkeys oder The Rascals, sondern spielen erfrischenden Indierock, der nicht weniger will, als jeden Muskel im Körper in Tanzlaune zu versetzen. Damit dass mit dem Tanzen auch funktioniert, haben die Black Kids eine große Portion Beat gefrühstückt und mischen den Humor eines Jarvis Cocker mit dem Synthie-Sound von The Cure und machen aus Beach Boys-Sounds stampfende Discorocker. Das alles jedoch nie ohne eigene Elemente und so schleicht sich statt langweiliger wiedergekäuter Retrosounds eine erfrischend jugendliche Mischung in die Ohren und Hirnwindungen, um sich dort über Tage parasitär als Ohrwurm festzusetzen. So sind die Black Kids eher so etwas wie die Muppets unter den Sesamstraßenindierockbands. Ob sie das Potential für mehr als einen Sommer haben, müssen sie nun selbst beweisen, aber für diesen Sommer dürfen sie sich feiern lassen.

I'm really tired!  The kids at daycare were a lot of fun, though.  We took them for a stroller ride around the property and ran through puddles and raced the other stroller.  I had the four bigger kids and they had a lot of fun.  We let them play piano in the choir room and they really liked that.  I was pleased.  Another kid, Sam, just started walking well today.  I was really excited about that too.  He will probably be walking before I leave for school - YAAY!  New kid, Tyler, was really clingy to me.  I always get the clingy new kids.  First Mary Jane and now Tyler.  Gosh.

Uhm....  OH I GOT A NEW PHONE!  It's beautiful and is an LG Shine!  I will have you know I didn't know it was the shine until the guy told me.  I had a suspicion but was happy to have picked it without knowing the model.  It makes me feel less brand-y, you know?  Anyway, it's really pretty and has a great camera.  Now I can vlog on the go! :P  I'm knitting a case for it and I almost delayed writing this so I could knit some more, haha.  I'll post pictures of the knitting when I'm done.

Ode to Joy - Muppet Style!

Jim Henson is daar onmetelijk rijk mee geworden, met de Muppet Show. Moest de mens nu geleefd hebben er zou allicht al een theme park van gemaakt zijn, alwaar je dan in Disneyland-stijl 7 euro zou betalen voor een lauwe cola, en 29 euro voor een belachelijk kleine en slechte lasagne, en waar men je met de glimlach zou pluimen. Wait a minute, zo ver moet je daar eigenlijk niet voor gaan, in de Kinepolis doen ze met plezier hetzelfde. Een filmpje meepikken met je lover, inclusief een kleine cola (die dan nog belachelijk groot uitvalt) en een emmer popcorn: ongeveer 25 euro, toch? Waar is de tijd toen je voor een film 140 frank betaalde? Da's 3,5 euro! En voor 50 frank had je er dan nog ijspralienen bij.

Tegenwoordig zie je 16-jarigen in de cinema, die naast een toegangsticket ook nog een hoop snoep en drinken kopen (in mijn tijd namen we snoep mee van thuis, dat was allemaal veel te duur), en die dan nog met hun laatste nieuw gsm-modelleke de hele film illegaal zitten te kopiëren. En dat soort zeikerdjes zetten dan inferieure lo-res versies online, waaraan anderen dan hun bandbreedte verspillen... De oplossing: ouders, geef die gasten eens wat minder zakgeld! Bedrijven zoals Kinepolis drijven voor een groot stuk op zakgeld, en zolang de mensen blijven betalen zullen zij hun prijzen de lucht injagen. Minder zakgeld => minder tieners in de cinema => minder winst => hopelijk lagere prijzen. En minder zakgeld => minder tieners met dure gsms => minder slechte kopiën online. It's a win-win kinda thing, innit?

Crap, ik hoor het vuurwerk op de Fieste. En ik lig in een ziekenhuisbed. Allee ja, vuurwerk... misschien is het gewoon een pulle gaze zoals gisteren...
