Welcome at my new blog, vorSEC! In case you wonder, what's that title is about: "vor" stands for vordichtung (which is my literary online project) and SEC stands for security. Since "vor" is German for before, you could interpret the title as "preventive security". The reason why the "SEC" is capitalized, is that I have a series of blogs/websites/forums, all of which start with "vor...". vorSEC is the continuation of that pattern.

Now what is vorSEC about? In the past few (11) months, I've digged into computer security. Since I'm a fan of the whole FOSS-movement, I immediately started writing a guide on interent censorship and measurments against it. With that I got interested in this cyber-activism-thing. Now I've always been somehow involved in civil society and with this I saw my chance to actually use something, I'm good at to help people. Furthermore it was unbelievable how "uneducated" the broad majority of people is in regard to computer security, cybercrime and those new threats of the cyber-society.

So this (vorSEC) is my continued attempt to combine civil society and cyber-society.

Now what can you expect to find here at vorSEC? What I want, is to give information about events of today's cyberwar (which includes large scale cybercrime of supposably non-govermental entities as well as internet censorship), information about actions taken by the civil society and by cyber activists and information about software, that helps people everywhere protect their privacy and human rights - which means you!

Oh! and I will discuss various methods of collaborating over the internet!

Since I have a quite busy life, I wont be able to post "24x7x4x12 hours a year". I'll do my best to post on a reasonable regular basis but I cannot promise you anything.

If you are interested in cyber activism, internet security, civil society, etc., feel free to contact me with any qestions you have...perhaps I will be able to answere them. And if you want to contribute yourself, I'm always happy to have a co-author...again: just contact me

Ich habe soeben einen neuen Blog erstellt: vorSHOUT. Es geht dabei grundsätzlich darum, Gedanken schnell festzuhalten. Zwar geht es mir auch darum, diese Gedanken in einer gewissen Form zu präsentieren, es ist aber nicht das Ziel, grassroot-journalism zu btreiben. Manches von vorSHOUT wird zwar vielleicht auf vorBLOG oder vorDICHTUNG aufgegriffen werden, aber es handelt sich doch um ein eigenständiges Projekt.

Passend zum Aufbruch der Wolken über Wien und den zu erwartenden lauen Burggarten-Abenden an der Frischluft, traut sich auch vordichtung wieder heraus. Vor ein paar Minuten habe ich die Privacy Options von vordichtung.wordpress.com geändert, und die neue vordichtung-Site der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht! Have fun, people out there, vordichtung and myself!

Alle, die meinen blog mitverfolgen (vorblog - für die, die es nicht tun) werden wohl bemerkt haben, dass ich selbst auch schreibe. Meine Online-Plattform vordichtung, bisher in schönmn webdesign eingerichtet ist jetzt gerade offline. Und würde es auch bleiben, denn mein Anbieter ist in Konkurs gegangen. Dementsprechend: Kein vordichtung mehr...schade. Ich, großzügig, wie ich bin (...?) habe mich aber entschlossen, den bösen Mächten des kommerziellen Internets nicht einfach so nachzugeben, und ein neues vordichtung einzurichten. Und wo ginge das sicherer und komfortabler als hier? Eben! Das heißt aber nicht, dass sich auf vorblog alles gravierend ändern wird..nein, bewahre! Seit einiger Zeit bin ich "Inhaber" von vordichtung.wordpress.com. Jetzt wird es Zeit, dieser (Sub)Domain endlich Leben einzuhauchen. Wenn ihr früher auf Gutenberg und vordichtung geschaut habt, um gute Gedichte zu lesen, so jetzt einfach auf Gutenberg und vordichtung.

Einzig und allein: Noch ist vordichtung.wordpress.com privat. Das wird sich ändern, sobald ich mit dem Aufbau halbwegs fertig bin (und das sollte morgen oder übermorgen der Fall sein)
