To me, this is the story of the Beijing Olympics.

Katja Nyberg and Gro Hammerseng are members of Norway's women's handball team. Gro is the captain of the team. She has twice been voted the tournament's most valuable player in the European Women's Handball Championship.

Hammerseng and Norway national Katja Nyberg also play together on Danish professional team Ikast-Bording. And, they're a couple. Hammerseng first expressed her love to Nyberg during the 2006 Championships after Norway had won the gold, and Nyberg was sitting in the stands, drawing an imaginary heart in the air directed towards her lover. Nyberg reciprocated the gesture.

I am sort of thinking about her going home as well. yesterday it was 3 weeks exactly until she goes home to germany again... that's 3 weeks too soon as far as I am concerned.

So, I have started the painful process of saying goodbye, i have booked my coach tickets to the airport to say goodbye, and i have written the goodbye letter.

If i dont write anything new here for a month or so, that is why.

So, I know I am going to say it a hundred more times, but here it is again Katja...

Here is a little bit more about her:
Gro Hammerseng (born April 10, 1980 in Gjøvik) is a Norwegian handball player. She is currently the captain of the Norway women's national handball team, and plays club handball for Danish club Ikast-Bording.

She made her national team debut in 2000. She has led Norway to two consecutive victories in the European Women's Handball Championship, in 2004 and 2006, being voted the tournament's most valuable player both times. As of 30 March 2008, she has played 135 games for Norway, scoring 540 goals.^[1]

She is in a long-term relationship with fellow Ikast and Norway player Katja Nyberg.^[2]

In the lead-up to the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics Hammerseng has joined other Norwegian athletes in an Amnesty International campaign for human rights in the People's Republic of China.^[3]

I was a little sad about leaving Boston to come back home to Queens. Besides not being around my college friends who decided to stay in Boston for the summer, I was sad because I didn't think I'd be able to host or meet any CSers while I was home. Turns out I was wrong.

After telling my friend Seth about CouchSurfing.com, he decided to join since he's planning on going to Washington DC in a couple weeks for a convention and wanted someone to show him around and have a place to stay. The next day I got an email from Taher, a CSer from Mumbai, India. He was visiting his brother in Bellerose, Queens for a couple weeks and wanted to chat with someone and do something fun. Seth and I decided to have lunch with Taher. He's a great guy. All three of us talked for hours. After lunch we went to Seth's house for a bit to find something fun to do. We ended up seeing a comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre by 26th Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan. It was a great time and a new experience for us, especially Taher.

Some Quick News
I know I have said this before, but I am going to start updating this blog more often, because yet again, I have been letting this blog slip... I'm sorry and will try harder!

Among the random and weird stuff that you might now find popping up here, you will also be finding more and more VERY random stuff, like me randomly blogging about a TV show that I have watched, or something that I have installed onto my laptop. My Girlfriend is Going Home to Germany for TWO YEARS on the First of July. I can't really explain how much this hurts me to think about it, but heres hoping the time apart is quick and doesn't hurt too much.

Deze week gebeurt ook alles een laatste keer:

- Katja die een laatste keer een taxi besteld.
- Jody die een laatste keer kan bedelen voor kauwgum.
- Ian die een laatste keer gecomfronteerd wordt met pauwels nv.
- Monica die een laatste keer taxi kan spelen.
- Anita die een laatste keer in het frans moet bellen.
- en Nadine die een laatste keer vis moet bestellen.

En nog vanalles dat een laatste keer kan gebeuren zal er gebeuren.
Ik denk dat iedereen het zal missen. En bepaalde dingen meer zal missen dan anderen.

Toch willen wij iedereen bedanken voor de fijne tijd en voor alles wat we geleerd hebben. Jullie kunnen misschien denken dat wij niets geleerd hebben, maar dat hebben we toch gedaan.

Vanavond draaide Katja en Sophie ook helemaal rond het Europese Kampioenschap. Het was een interessante kijk op het tornooi, zeker ook voor vrouwen! Wat ik zo speciaal vond... en de moeite om een blogje over te maken was het supporterslied dat Katja en Sophie voor hun Nederlands elftal maakten.

Die Nederlandse leeuwen worden in stijl aangemoedigd, dat is zeker. Het liedje kreeg de titel "De gasten van Van Basten (de trainer, nvdr)", en is op zijn minst gezegd aanstekelijk. Ik zit er al de hele avond mee in mijn hoofd. 
Bij het lied hoort zelfs een dansje. Ik kan het nog niet, maar van zodra ik een Youtube-filmpje vind ga ik alvast oefenen!

Later this month, once my finals are done, I will be hosting another CSer. Her name is Katja and she is twenty years old and from Germany. Katja has been WWOOFing, hitchhiking and couchsurfing her way around Canada and now the US for the past 8 months. I think that's so awesome. I can't wait to meet her.

Here lies a tale of great woe... I found myself waking up this morning, and discovering a disturbing truth... WE WERE OUT OF GOLDEN SYRUP PORRIDGE...

I guess this is the part where i'm meant to say something like "no i'm only kidding, here's the actual INTERESTING stuff that i've done...". And the truth is, I would write that if i HAD done something interesting. But i havent really so thats life I guess.

Now to try and find some sort of amazing picture to add to this post... um... hmm. That will do.

Reminds me of how i can be with katja sometimes... caring more for her than me, and being hipocritical... oh well.

Now luckily my laptop is fine, however, now i have to juggle using my dads charger around him working, which means that my daily coursework time is cut down to around an hour a day (the life of my battery).

Stupid people at Sony can't even make a charger without it being a failure (cough cough, PS3)...

Oh well... heres hoping i get a nice free replacement under warranty...

And in other news... today has kinda sucked because I didn't see my girlfriend at all today, and I miss her loads.

Ah well. I'll see her at college on monday.

Hi... wow, i've been a bit busy recently with a whole load of stuff thats been on my mind... for example:

• girlfriend
• holiday
• school work

But anyway, i am now dedicated to this blog again (and by dedicated i mean more than one post a month)...

Anyway... um hi from my German girlfriend to anyone who happens to pop onto this blog...

I really am not too sure to write so i won't write too much. At the moment I'm just trying to sort a holiday out for me and Katja (girlfriends name! lol), and a few other bits and bobs. Among other things, i am also trying to save the world. Again. (more on that in the next post).

Well... i'll just sum up whats happened in the last few weeks and then i will dissapear...

• spent most of a week living with my girlfriend... went very well
• went on holiday to Spring Harvest - a large week long christian event held at butlins holiday camps in minehead and skegness.
• did two bits of coursework
• forgot what my last piece of coursework was
• hurridly went looking around for everyone in my chemistry classes phone numbers...
• ...and didn't find them

ps, my laptop charger died too
