you know all those bonus tracks that surface once an album is released? we used to get them as b-sides. occasionally an instrumental would be bunged on there, or a remix, but in the 80s, you were pretty much guaranteed at least an album track if not something which didn't make the cut.

They just released their single,  Summertime.  

Their fan base are now mothers and business professionals who still scream and shout at their concerts. It is summer time and it is time for some nostalgia and some reinvention.

Well guys, if you people were at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards last night, I hope that you had coped with the wild weather we had in the city. This marks the first time that the MuchMusic Video Awards was in "extreme conditions" in terms of weather. While I didn't stay for the whole show most of the time because of the weather (it was pouring like hell!), I stayed for the red carpet and the rehearsals.

I saw JabbaWockeez, Girlicious and Hedley rehearsing and I can't believe these people bring up a good show. Just like when Emeril Lagasse said, "Let's kick it up a notch..."

Onwards with the red carpet, I saw Trevor Boris (known for his role in "Video on Trial") and I was able to secure his autograph. That's my biggest upside. I was able to see Sum 41 (at least two members) and to my biggest surprise, I saw Simple Plan!!!

Onwards with the show - Flo Rida start with a climatic opening then becomes Simple Plan. illScarlett "mirrors" Finger Eleven's rooftop performance, Girlicious on the other hand, despite their sexy, but attractive appearance (I heart their Doc Martens boots), their show was excellent! New Kids of the Block was able to close out the show with a climatic performance. The fans couldn't got enough satisfaction!!!! :D

One recognizable tune for those of you "Hockey Night in Canada" fans who can't resist the tune, Ottawa Senators Jason Spezza, made a climatic entrance with the iconic tune!

As for awards, Hedley won three awards (MuchLOUD best rock video, best video and best director), Avril Lavigne (Favourite Canadian Artist - or something like that), Simple Plan won Favourite Canadian Group (this marks the 5th time that Simple Plan won the MMVAs at least 5 to 6 years in a row!) and finally, Fall Out Boy (not in attendance, but gave a funny moment) won People's Choice Favourite International Video award.

Do the above lyrics sounded familiar to you? If no, nvm, but if yes, then welcome to the fandom of NKOTB. It has been 15 long years since they last release that album, that long huh? When i was small or should i say very young, this boyband is definitely one of my favourites la. Still remember the days of Walkman, when i kept on playing NKOTB's songs over and over again. And yes, my personal favourite is 'Tonight', ooh ooh... and it still remain as my favourite song to date, ahh ahhh...

So what's the good news? Well, they are back! I was reading something about the new movie, The Happening, starring Mark Wahlberg and i found out that his brother Donnie Wahlberg is actually a member of NKOTB! And by the way, do you know that Mark Wahlberg is a singer previously, coming on as Marky Mark?  Bwah hahaha...

Back to KNOTB, i'm not sure how they are going to sound like now but i don't mind if they just sing back the old tunes and i'll be more than happy to sing along. hehe!

For those of you who don't know who are the New Kids on the Block are, they are very popular in the 1980s, my sister really likes them back then (at that time she was around 6 or 8 back then.....). I kinda don't like them that much thesedays except that I like their hits, "Hangin' Tough", "Step by Step" and "The Right Stuff".

With the addition of NKOTB, the MuchMusic Video Awards will bring lots of tourism to our region and it's not just Toronto. If I had things my way, the awards should be broadcasted over the internet and most importantly on cell phones (providing if the cell phone is 1X/EVDO or 3G/HSPA/HSDPA capable and allows to play videos), many people from all around the globe will watch the festivities!!! I LOVE THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK! They honestly look so much better than they did back in the day. They premiered their new song called Summertime.........I WILL be in NYC next week when they perform for the Today Show. Anyone else going to be as stupid as me? ha ha
