I didn't go to church today. Not that I didn't want to go (trust me I wanted to go) but I can't because I'm afraid I'll just annoy C so it's better not to go at all. However, I did see him last night at ASD's Spring Concert. I sat next to his family during the concert and chatted with them. I also saw Michael, her little sister Isis, Alex and her little sister Asia, Abi and I was looking for my other friend Sheena but no such luck. The concert was really good. I certainly enjoyed it a lot. The students are all so talented! The middle school choir performed as well as the sixth grade band, the middle school concert band and the middle school instrumental band. The venue for the concert, the new theatre, is absolutely stunning. I love it!

After the concert, I bumped into Sven and Ingrid during the reception in the dining hall. We talked for a bit as well and then I later talked to (and congratulated) Abi, Alex, Michael and so on. I didn't talk to C but I wanted to congratulate him on his amazing performance as well. He is an excellent percussionist (and I'm not saying that only because I like him. I'm saying it because it's true!) He played the drums for the first time. The song he played was called 'Juju Dance' and he looked like he was born to play the drums!

Well, I'd better stop gushing and start studying for my finals!

You know you love me,

Following up from Goddess of the Vulva, I was surprised to see a commercial on Disney Channel announ

Following up from Goddess of the Vulva, I was surprised to see a commercial on Disney Channel announcing the upcoming double CD featuring Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus. I had already surmised in said blog that she was without doubt the product of trauma-based mind-control. But, oh how boldly they now throw these clues to these multiple personality disordered children at us now.

An analysis of the below advertisement yields an abundance of encoded (yet some not so subtle) messages. Duality. An MM, and an HH. And another MM and HH (when we use the 2 as a multiplier). The Alpha and the Omega (her palindromic name). Subconscious hints at mountains (¿pyramids?). The dog star (Sirius). The announcement that her two personalities are finally going to meet (confirmation of MPD). Finally, the digitized image with the pixelized fade could be seen as an implication that she's not real (which, outside the minds of her hypnotized fan base, she is not). Click on the image for the video, where more synchs may lie.

Is there a connection between Disney and Target? Well, the below synch would imply just that. Face it, during the panic of 1929, they came in and bought up all the publicly traded companies for pennies. The interlocking boards of directors have kept them in line since. Competition? Ha! Which brings me to 9/11, hence the following image from Spiegel's article entitled Thirty Naked Pensioners at Ground Zero (complete with Mickey Mouse masks):

"The naked stand for people without means, the victims of capitalism, the underclass, who don't have anything any more."

I would add "communism and every other ism" to the above statement. The article could have a synchromystic analysis of it's own, but I'll just focus on nudity and Disney. For one, in the quoted context above, childhood Disney programming is what allowed us to be fleeced so easily. Secondly, the more I look at Disney, the more convinced I grow that it and nudity/sexuality are inseparable.

In the aftermath of the Vanity Fair photoshoot of one Hannah Montana, a few people have come to me and congratulated me on my prediction regarding Miley Cyrus (aforementioned Goddess of the Vulva article). Pardon the colloquial, but "I didn't predict nothing." I simply looked at train map and saw the line ran from El Paso to Albuquerque. When the train pulled into El Paso, I told you it was going to Albuquerque next. I'm no Edgar Cayce.

Curious, I went online to find out what all the fuss was about and came across this fluff piece in Forbes, which asks "Who's Minding Miley?" No, that doesn't suggest mind control. Who? Her handlers maybe. The below "sanctioned" pictures of the child-turned-teen star (far more lurid than the VF reaction test) should be an overt reminder of what "image" Disney is protecting and what it is selling us:

She is Disney "property." [In every way conceivable.] She is a mind-controlled tool doing exactly what her handlers tell her. The "sex kitten" image on the right suggests she's had the "sex slave" programming which Cathy O'Brien spoke of, and she may be "available" for the right price to the right individual. {*1} Strangely enough, backmasking the "Best of Both Worlds" song reveals that perhaps that Hannah's "love [is] for sale." Ugh! The train is on schedule and exactly where it is supposed to be. All you need to do is look at the progression of Britney Spears to see where the Disney track leads:

I like [am annoyed by] how Disney spun the incident: "Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines." If you believe that I got a truckload of Pet Rocks to sell you. Let me remind everyone that Annie Leibovitz is a Disney photographer. [Synchronauts may find pics of use.] Finally, I was [not] so amazed to also learn that Disney makes and markets lingerie in China (see Disney's Dirty Little (Victoria's) Secret). [The models are over 18, so you don't have to feel dirty.] {*2} Well, at last, I finally figured out what the "V" in Victoria's Secret stands for:

While the public was mostly focused on the Miley's sheet [allegedly topless] shot, I found the suggestive "lovers" pose between her and her father far more disturbing, and also, supportive of the incest angle, which I also, ahem, "predicted" (same prior blog). Vanity Fair's own "behind the scenes" video offers an even "creepier" look that Miley gives her father. [0:38] But all the proof one really needs are the two publicity shots below. See Minnie and Miley, both in red, both in a similar pose. See Minnie kissing Billy Ray as Miley turns away (suggestive of not seeing [or not wanting to see] it happening). Programmed MPD's have no way of seeing what their other personality is doing. Voilà!

Keeping with the spirit of my last blog, I wondered what other Disney property had been demonstrating her vulva in public. Ah, Lindsay Lohan. {*3} I was unable to ascertain whether she was a Mouseketeer, but confirmed her debut role was as the "twins" in Disney's remake of The Parent Trap. Interestingly enough, the twins of the original Parent Trap, were played by yet another HM, another Disney "property," and yet another "most popular child actress of [her] era," Haley Mills. {*4} A visionary of the time (and arguably, genius director of all time), Stanley Kubrick, saw through the Disney facade even back then and cast her as the perfect nymphet to play Nabakov's Lolita. [Disney reconsidered and pulled her.]

Mills, was also born of royalty. I laugh back how at one time, as a child, I believed the lie they told us in school that "if we worked hard enough, one day we could become President of the United States." Genealogy has proven that ambitious path an impossibility. I'm becoming convinced (as is Atlantean Times) that the notion that any of us commoners would ever be allowed to be "stars" may be yet another fairy tale we are sold as children. Not only are our politicians chosen for us, but so are our "stars." Now, even People magazine is telling us that Hillary Clinton is related to Angelina Jolie and Madonna, while Barrack Obama is related to Brad Pitt and George Bush? {*5}

On one hand, a mainstream admission of secrets normally relegated to "conspiracy nuts," and on the other, Disney throwing their deceptions in our face. This seems beyond Michael Hoffman's "revelation of the method." Are they so confident of how far along the general public has been dumbed down now, that they feel they can openly boast of what's going on in front of our face. Or, is it the effects of Pluto? Answer found below: "No More Secrets, No More Lies."

The above picture also yields several other synchromystic nuggets. The four stars, four sides, four background personalities. The one in the middle, or pinnacle/eye resonant of the xmas tree/pyramid. Strong imagery of Isis / Cybele / Astarte (or Queen Sumerimus/Statue of Liberty, if you prefer). The five points of a pentagram? Finally, the intentional placement of the flower (and what that suggests), with the stem intersecting Miley's vagina. If you actually think for a moment that none of dozens of staff working on the campaign noticed this, than I'm sure you'll also rationalize away the following photos too:

The Vanessa Hudgens fiasco, which I'll not get into here, went remarkably smooth for Disney. "Outrage" over, she has been retained as a Disney Property and will star in the next High School Musical too. The photo on the right speaks for itself (¿are there two frogs behind her?). I included the one on the left, because I've been wanting to ask the parents of preteens who buy their daughters shorts with the words "juicy" on the butt: "What the hell is wrong with you?" Backmasking again, forces us to deal with Miss Hudgens singing of masturbation (and coincidentally, her ass). {*6} How many cycles of exposure, outrage, apology does it take to break Disney's "parent trap?" [Infinite?]

Back to Hannah. I mean Miley. Oh, whatever! I'll denote the safety projected by the color blue (I gather that's aimed at the parents holding the credit cards), but will leave the rest for you to interpret:

I was nearly floored by the following discovery: Miley's "best friend" is co-star Emily Osment . [Oz!] Are you f'n kidding me? Their names are anagrams of each other's. The handlers must control every aspect of these girl's lives. Notice how the below cover of Teen magazine tells girls "what not to do," yet shades out the word not in a softer tone/color, thereby perceived by the brain as "what do do" followed by the next word our eyes take in, "hot guys here" or "rock stars you love" (depends on if you're left or right-brained).

A delayed checkout at the grocery store, allowed my own eyes to wander about long enough to stumble on a synch from a preteen tabloid entitled Pixie, which contained a story (blurb) about how Emily & Miley were BFFLs. {*7} Per wikipedia, "In Holly Black's works, pixies are green-skinned, human-sized faeries with shimmering wings. They have a command of glamour and a type of power to charm or seduce others." So, finding a pic of Emily on the "Green Team" at Disney? I'm overwhelmed. How do these girls cope with all this control and debauchery? Well, as Emily synch-winks us: "I don't think about it."

I'd actually recommend reading the the Teen article for some odd indirect quotes about their staged lives. Seeing them with the puppies (below) and noting how the one's black pyramidal jaw is pointing up to Cyrus makes me think of Sirius (the dog star). Which leads to this interesting picture of the joker (the fool) communicating to us (or Miley) from the other side of the mirror (¿the "other side"?). [Pic from Inside the Cosmic Cube.] Does everything going on presently have to synch back to Heath Ledger? Maybe. Am I reaching with this Cyrus/Sirius connection? In their own words: Miley Cyrus Star of Disney's 'Hannah Montana' to Take Over SIRIUS Satellite Radio Music Channel. R U Serious???

What about the fans? The first pic below is from some event where all the girls who came got "Hannah makeovers." Um, excuse me, but doesn't it seem kind of inappropriate to have all these little girls holding microphones with purplish/pink tinted heads on them? Didn't any adult working this event (or attending) say, "Um, this just doesn't feel right?" The grown woman to the right (of the first photo) is appropriately pictured; some random object blocking her face, because though she has eyes, she cannot see. On the right, some screaming HM fans. Who's Minding Miley? Who's minding their own children? If you are an ignorant piece-of-shit excuse for a Mother, please raise your hand and scream. Thank you!

Reminds me of another fanatic group of young women from a long time ago. The two girls on the right, were chanced upon (and if I recall correctly, from a spoof site), but that seems apropo as we connect back to back to the joker/fool, and synch wonderfully with Daria Invictus' foray into the Smiley Face murders.

I was unsure where this blog would take me once I began to write/compile it, and whence in the middle of it, I could find no way out ... until presented with the below image of Cyrus in The Daily Behemoth. I'll concur with Ben and leave Miley's "devil-salute" for Texe Marrs and others, but am wondering where have I seen that face before? Aha! Found it!

Predictably, after I wrote Post-Subliminal Era Has Begun, pointing out Disney's repeated use of sexual imagery, many criticized me as "kooky" or "paranoid." I will assume that after this, many of those same people will call me a "pervert." I'm getting the impression those are programmed responses designed to prevent anyone from really looking into such matters.

But, my question is: What is the appropriate response to a mother/father who turns over the development of their child to the Disney corporation? What is the appropriate response to someone who repeatedly denies the obvious and dismisses all those who try to open their eyes to truth? What is the appropriate response to those who work in the belly of the beast (so to speak) and propagate these ills on our children? Because, there are no programmed responses to them.

Well, I have crawled along the underbelly of the beast and I don't like what I found there. Yes, I do feel dirty. I am going to go take a long shower now. I need to wash this stench off my soul.

*1: Cathy O’Brien’s Trance-Formation of America goes into disturbing detail about the sexual programming of children that takes place in the Monarch mind control programs. Aside from the role of the mass mind-control I'm discussing, she details how Disney themes are used in the creation of "sex slaves" for the rich and powerful. The book comes across as shocking and unbelievable at first, but further research / revelations back up her claims. [LB]

*2: Apparently, posing models as underage girls is quite normal for Disney in China, as the following link (sent to me by a collaborating friend) suggests. [LB]

*3: In an odd sequence of timing, or should I say synchromysticism, the Vanity Fair issue in question, came out during the same week as the murder of "DC Madam" Debra Jean Palfrey (if you think it was a suicide, you'll believe anything). The cover of the issue features Robert F. Kennedy, and incidentally Dan Moldea who wrote a book supporting the "official" account of RFK's assassination (and denying mind control of Sirhan Sirhan) was also the media source for her alleged, and laughable, "I am not going back to prison. I will commit suicide first" statement. And let's not forget that Kennedy was intimately linked to another infamous MM, "suicided" mind-controlled sex-slave Marilyn Monroe. [Oops! Synched back to Heath Ledger.] [LB]

Linsey Lohan posed as Marilyn Monroe. [¿ LL + 2 = MM ?] Click image for full, ahem, spread.

*4: It also occurred to me that especially with 50's technology, it would have been far easier and cheaper to find a real set of twins to play the part. It would seem that one person with two roles/personalities was/is/will-be the most important part of this repeating story. [LB]

*5: Fritz Springemeier's Bloodlines of the Illuminati details these bloodlines and even discusses mind-control. A prior blog takes a humorous look at our last few presidents as related to the wretched Bavarian House of Windsor. As Michael Tsarion observes, there's a good reason why celebrities and royalty all walk the "red carpets," as fitting for those descended of "royal blood." [LB]

*6: The "reverse lyrics" rabbit hole also finds alleged "Christian" trio of soulless Jonas Brothers ruining a perfectly good Kim Wilde song, but frighteningly [in forward mode] informing us they [and their legions of mindless followers] may in fact be our future. I can't say without doubt how/if the subconscious processes backwards messages, and can barely fathom the level of intelligence/intuition required to write songs in such manner. I leave you with another backmasking example from Miss Hudgens, which takes a few too many liberties, but it's entertaining nonetheless.) [LB]

*7: I view the BFFL (best friends for life), BFF, BFFEE and whatnot phenomenon as destructive programming, the same way I view the "princess programming" (happily ever after forever and ever) we subject our daughters to. Simply, it sets up children with false expectations and leads to a life of repeated disappointment. I may expand on the topic in a later blog on shaping the human mind. [LB]

* SPECIAL THANKS: To my dear friends Renee and Lana for our talks, your leads, and help in wrapping my brain around this quagmire.

Melinda Laidlaw: My Spiritual Awakening

In 1998-2000 I experienced a series of synchronistic occurrences that led to my spiritual awakening,

In 1998-2000 I experienced a series of synchronistic occurrences that led to my spiritual awakening, which was when my mission was revealed to me. I was gifted with John Hogue’s Nostradamus & The Millennium, Predictions of The Future, and as I went to open the book I automatically turned to CHAPTER TWELVE: A NEW AWAKENING and simultaneously experienced just that. As I read over the prophecy about the anticipated leader who would come to bring peace to earth and teach the new spiritual reality or conscious awareness, I knew that this was who I was and what I was here to do.

I then opened to a page in James Redfield’s The Celestine Prophecy: AN EXPERIENTIAL GUIDE which clarified the coincidence and the prophecy’s message, and through a detailed explanation I uncovered how my past had been a preparation for the contribution I was to make to the world, and what I was here to teach: our connection with the divine source.

That evening I sat out in the backyard beneath the starry night sky and Southern Cross of Australia and asked out loud, “If I am the one they call Maitreya then I want a star to shoot directly overhead of me RIGHT NOW!” Then the most brilliant star I have ever seen or expect to see again in my life burst through the atmosphere exactly the way I had asked for verification.

It was then that my life changed and I began my quest for greater understanding and awareness and to fulfil a duty that was given to me, and a promise that for more than two thousand years has inspired the world.

After having resided in the United Kingdom for almost ten years, I returned to Australia in 2004 and was trained by Advisor and World Authority on Leadership, Tony Robbins to overcome my conditioning and to do what’s right in spite of fear.

In 2005 I discovered a configuration of a star in my nativity chart that is The Great Seal of God - the ultimate symbol of Man’s connection to nature - and harbinger of my own destiny. I began sharing my research on the web and despite the discouragement of disapproving remarks from many, namely Christians because I am female and therefore traditionally disqualified from spiritual leadership, I continued my mission and realized that my natal star represents the soul or the atom of space and time, which is the Logos (Greek λόγος) from the Bible; the structure of nature and source of that structure.

I concluded in Easter 2008, eight years after my awakening and almost 33 years of age, that:

The Giza Pyramid Complex was designed to answer our greatest questions in life by coded information in astro-geophysics, and to provide scientific evidence of soul and reincarnation, and and technical knowledge of gravity/anti-gravity to future generations.

Advanced, Ancient Civilizationsexisted. Life is eternal. Science and Religion are one.

That the dream I had for the world when I was a little girl, that grew into a life-long passion and commitment, is the same dream that our ancient ancestors shared and dedicated their lives towards in building the Giza Pyramid Complex, as a monument to Truth, a long long time ago.

I carry the torch for us all... I am the way, the truth, and the life.

By Erik Baard

Up to a point, I love being ignorant. As an aspiring urban naturalist, I am frequently discovering my hometown’s exoticism. I had one such moment on Saturday, as I paddled up the Bronx River with my friend Ted Gruber to volunteer for the Amazing Bronx River Flotilla.

Stroke by stroke we left the west bank of the Bronx River mouth's grocery store distributor truck lots, warehouse construction, and the old sanitation pier further behind. Retaining walls ended and broad mudflats footed the green, landfilled uplands of Soundview Park. Brilliant white birds stole our attention first – three great egrets and two large mute swans. But after that rush subsided, I noticed the smaller wader silhouetted above (photo by Ted Gruber) and was awed. It was an ambassador from ancient Egypt.

The first time I came across the hooked-bill face of an ibis, it had a human body and was busy teaching Isis spells to resurrect the dismembered Osiris. This was a depiction of the Egyptian god of wisdom, magic, and measurement. He derived his name, Djehuty, as well as visage, from the ibis. He is also credited with inventing writing, and Egyptian scribes often owned depictions of ibises. We more commonly know Djehuty through the Greeks as Thoth. That distinct bill (great for snatching up crustacens, snakes, and invertebrates) stirred Egyptian imaginations further, and they associated the bird, and Djehuty, with the similarly shaped crescent moon. The god is usually attended by a baboon (which is also an occasional incarnation), as Egyptians noticed how that primate seemed to howl at the moon.

As I read those enchanting stories, encountering a living descendent in the South Bronx was nowhere in my thoughts.

During the winter I'd flipped past the ibis in an Audubon Society guide, not having much faith in seeing one. Despite a population surge in the mid-twentieth century, it’s now listed as a species “of greatest conservation concern” in New York. Still, a dedicated birder can count on spotting them in our parts from spring through autumn (they winter in the Deep South); this absolutely breathtaking photo offers a closer look at a glossy ibis in Jamaica Bay, with its breeding plumage, rusty and iridescent green like a dogbane beetle.

But for all its ancient pedigree, the glossy ibis is a newcomer to America. Most scientists believe it arrived in the late 19th century. Now you might ask, “If it’s invasive, why would the Audubon Society be worried about it? Shouldn’t the organization be working to curtail it so that native shorebirds can survive?”

Well, this is partly because the glossy ibis seems to have arrived naturally, swept across the Atlantic Ocean by a hurricane as it migrated between Africa and Europe (this still happens today). And today it's habitat is threatened by pollution and wetlands draining throughout its current range, even North Africa. Our continent is home to 21,000 ibises, about one percent of the global total, but we could end up serving as a global gene bank for the species.

Or maybe there’s an environmental grant waiting for a revival of the Egyptian solution to species preservation: Temple priests raised the birds in captivity so skillfully that archeologists have uncovered millions of ibis remains…sacrificed and mummified. Or not.

But the next time I see the moon at a crescent sliver, I will see ibis-headed Djehuty and smile knowing I once glided alongside him. I will hope, as a minor scribe, that I have honored him.

Saturday night's Amazon binge is beginning to show results. First through the letterbox this morning - the new ¡Forward, Russia! album, Life Processes. A record I've been keeping an eye on for a while, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, because I like what I've heard from ¡Forward, Russia! in the past, and secondly, because it was recorded with Matt Bayles handling the production, the man who has produced some of the best heavy metal albums of all time by the likes of Botch, Isis and Mastodon. Exciting stuff.

Seeing as this is the first CD I've bought during the experiment, I was interested to see how I'd react when it came to seeing it but not being able to listen to it. And even though I knew I wouldn't be able to put it on, I still went through the usual routine of ripping open the cellophane and looking at all the packaging, almost as if I was looking for clues as to what to expect when I do finally get to hear it.

By contrast, the other day I downloaded the latest free Nine Inch Nails album, The Slip, again, knowing full well I wouldn't be able to listen to it. But even though the download came with all the usual trimmings, admittedly in digital form, I felt absolutely no desire to look at the artwork in the same way as I did when Life Processes came through the post. I'd heard it said before, usually by friends, that this is the very reason that people still by CDs - you get the whole physical package, to do with as you please. It's almost as if buying a CD is a "proper" experience, and for some reason downloading music, even legally, still doesn't have the same magic.

I guess the music buying experience was just another one of those things I was taking for granted, having been buying CDs for as long as I can remember, and I just didn't realise how ritualistic the whole process is, or how much the process of listening to music is as much a physical thing as it is psyochological.

Journal: Saturday 11 March 2000

The road to Dendera from Luxor follows the East Bank of the Nile northwards towards Qena. There are several small villages along the route, but as we were travelling today with the police convoy there was little time to admire the scenery. We left Luxor at 8.00am sharp with several other coaches and mini-buses as well as a few privately-hired taxis, winding our way through the suburban hamlets before we hit the first checkpoint and then the long straight road towards Qus, the first small town to the north of Luxor. For the first few kilometres the convoy sorted itself out - there is always a race to get to the front, each vehicle overtaking recklessly, often diving back in to the right lane between coaches just before a loaded truck screams past in the opposite direction. This is a two-lane road, but in Egypt everyone drives down the centre until they are forced to one side or the other by oncoming traffic. Drivers with nerves of steel will play a waiting game to see who will give way first and there are horns constantly blaring loudly. Gravel was scattered as the speeding convoy passed a donkey pulling a loaded cart down the edge of the road in the wrong direction and the driver turned and scowled, shouting something as our mini-bus edged past giving the unpredictable animal a wide berth. Our driver didn't take part in the race to be first, preferring to hang back at a more leisurely pace but he was soon hurried on by a police vehicle for going too slowly, the captain leaning out of his window, waving his arms and shouting at us to get a move on. We sped through small villages, narrowly missing pedestrians trying to cross the road while mothers reached out to grab hold of tiny children and chickens and goats bolted for safety into open doorways. The villagers justifiably hate the convoys as much as I do and I'm never sure if their rage is directed at us tourists or the tourist police, but probably both.

When we reached Qena the convoy split up. Most of the coaches were making the journey through the Eastern Desert to Hurghada on the coast while our minibus and a few other vehicles crossed the bridge over the wide river to the West Bank and drove through the fields of sugar cane to Dendera Temple. Although our primary destination today was Abydos, the convoy stopped for a hour and a half at Dendera, so that's what we had to do. Our French companions, Katrina and Danny, hadn't been to Dendera before and they rushed off through the great tall gateway and disappeared into the huge facade of the Temple of Hathor to make the most of their visit, while Jenny and I hung back and ambled around away from the crowds. We had taken a day-cruise to Dendera last October, which didn't feel like very long ago, so we spent most of our time looking at the various structures in the temple precinct, only going into the temple later to climb the winding staircase onto the roof for an overview of the subsidiary buildings.

Before long we were back in our mini-bus and on our way to Abydos. Many of the coaches had gone back to Luxor and the convoy now consisted of only half a dozen vehicles and a police truck that was in no particular hurry, so it was a much more leisurely drive. We had crossed back to the East Bank, only to cross the Nile again at Nag Hamadi where the bridge crosses a barrage and the river froths and boils around the massive stone supports below the road. We made a brief stop while the police captain bought some fresh fish from a stall on the bridge before driving on past the tall steam-belching chimneys of the Nag Hamadi sugar-cane factory and after another hour or so, arrived at Abydos.

The ancient town of Abydos (Abdju) was traditionally associated with the god Osiris and the religious significance of the site dates back to the very beginnings of Egyptian history when the earliest rulers chose to be buried in the desert necropolis in the sacred cult centre of Osiris. In the myth of Osiris and Seth, after the god was hacked into fourteen pieces by his treacherous brother Seth, Osiris's wife Isis set out to find the parts of her husband's body which were scattered all along the Nile. Each piece she found, she buried in a secret place until the body of Osiris could be reassembled. The god's head had been found at Abydos, according to the legend and this was where Isis finally buried his embalmed body and he once more achieved immortality. Afterwards, Isis remained inconsolable and her grief gave rise to another story that her tears caused the annual flooding of the Nile. Since ancient times the rich and powerful men of Egypt wished to be buried at Abydos where Osiris himself lay and the ancient name Abdju has been interpreted as the 'Hill of the Emblem', referring to the grave of Osiris.

Whenever I go into the Temple at Abydos I am again awed by the superb colourful reliefs of Seti I and the fact that they have survived so well-preserved for all these centuries. I can stand and look at them for hours and marvel at the workmanship of each carved hieroglyph and the beautiful depiction of the King and the gods in the long columned Osiris Hall at the rear. I also love the dark interior of the Hypostyle Halls with their tall papyrus columns. But today we had only an hour and a half here and as this was Jenny's first visit we walked right through the temple so that she could get a brief view of each room, before going out to the Osirion behind. Apart from the handful of tourists who came with the convoy, the temple was packed with Egyptian schoolchildren and I have to say I didn't enjoy the visit as much as I could have done. No doubt I have been spoilt by the few days I spent at here in March 1999 with Robin, when we had the whole temple to ourselves for hours at a time. The only consolation was that Jenny, as well as Katrina and Danny, really enjoyed their time in Abydos and I was very glad we had been invited to share the adventure.

We arrived back in Luxor in the late afternoon. Our return journey was uneventful and I'm happy to say was more relaxed than the morning drive had been. We were able to enjoy the countryside with the golden reflection of a sinking sun on the ramparts of the hills that form a boundary with the desert beyond.

Made Out of Babies are the kind of band that continue to get better with each subsequent release and how stoked was I to hear their latest song "Cooker" from their forthcoming album, The Ruiner, out June 24! I think the fact they keep getting weirder and more complex in their sound is what fascinates me. Vocalist Julie Xmas seems to be utilizing her considerable talents in more ways than just saying words--using her voice to add another element of suspense to the juggernaut rhythm section of bassist Cooper and drummer Matt, while Brendan's buzz saw and effects laden guitar dances around the chaos.

I've been anxiously awaiting a new release from MOOB and so I decided to send Julie some Q's in advance of their release date. If you haven't seen this band live, do yourself a favor and go check it out.

Who is producing the new MOOB record?

The record would not have become what it is without the help of Andrew Schneider of Translator Audio in Brooklyn. Andrew is amazing. For anyone who isn’t too familiar with how records are made, the producer is as important as any member of the band, and Andrew is definitely a rising star in the audio engineering world.

Do you have a title for it yet?

The Ruiner.

You had mentioned in our interview a while back that your writing process as a singer you often think of the words last and use sounds more than actual lyrics, but Coward seemed more focused lyrically than Trophy did (as a result the vocals sounded more passionate, subject matter was more overt). Is that still the case?

Thanks for saying the vocals sound more passionate with more highly developed subject matter. I can’t tell if I’m more lyrically focused. Sometimes the words do seem to be coming to me faster, but other times it’s like squeezing blood from a stone. I think the key is always the music. If the music is really “for me”, I can usually respond to it fluidly without too many tears and grunts. Abstract vocals are very easy to hide behind. Then again, maybe I haven’t changed at all and it’s you has changed as a listener.

Has your process changed since you started MOOB? Do you utilize different writing/vocal techniques when working with different people like Battle of Mice and do you 'save' some things for your main project MOOB?

I respond to different music in different ways. I’m not a good saver. Every time I scream till I almost black out, I know I shouldn’t be doing it. I am weak that way. I tend to do whatever I want despite the cost. Saving ideas has recently come into play with my own solo work, because the music is generally not originating from other people.

How have things been working with your new label The End? What was the reason to work with them and not Neurot for your forthcoming 3rd album?

Neurot is great, but we wanted to try a new partnership for this record. The End is a growing label with great ideas and we have high hopes for working with them – they seem really driven to make things work and they are committed to the new record, which is by far our best work.

What like-minded loonies are you working with in 08'?

My other personality, My lovely men from Made Out of Babies, the guys from Mouth Of the Architect, the guys from Spylacopa (Greg from Dillinger Escape Plan, Jeff from Isis and John from Candiria), A French Director and French Producer David Blin and Renaud Behar (I’m scoring their first feature length film), Andrew Schneider, Mel Liederman from Victory at Sea/Thalia Zadek, and a few other special surprises that I can’t name at the moment. It is a very busy time!

What can you tell me about the solo record and can what folks can expect? will it be heavy, electronic, ambient, combination of both, anyone producing? is if full band? is it just you and an acoustic guitar?

I would never try to play an instrument and sing. I have great musicians helping me out. The music is big and open, songs I want to sing or have always wanted to sing that most people probably will not like too much. I don’t think I could finish an entire album without expressing very dark feelings, but I also express a sense of hope and amazement at small things in the world.

Whats the possibility of a Jarboe/Julie Xmas collab?

I’ve never thought about it. I wonder if it would work.

When is the next tour scheduled for MOOB?

Summer 08’, we’ll be in Europe & the US. We’ve been taking time off to write and record.

Will there ever be a followup to the Battle of Mice record?

A BOM split with Jesu is coming out on Robotic Empire in a few months.

Did you guys work with Joel Hamilton again on the new MOOB record?

No, but we love Joel. I think we knew before we started to write that Andrew was the right person for this album. When you hear it, you’ll know why. The best - kept secret in Brooklyn.

Thanks Julie. Happy 08. looking forward to seeing you guys sometime this year.

Thank You! This was fun – thanks so much for thinking of me. Let me know if you need anything else at all!

Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE, PUSCIFER) talked to Suicide Girls about the new Puscifer album that was released today titled "V is for Viagra: the Vagina Remixes" which basically consists of the songs from the first Puscifer album remixed by Paul Barker (MINISTRY), Lustmord, Michael Patterson, Aaron Turner (ISIS), Danny Lohner (NINE INCH NAILS), and Dave Ogilvie (SKINNY PUPPY), among others.

It's a bit of an awkward interview, but Maynard's always been an awkward guy. I never cease to be amazed at how he looks completely different every time I see him. There's no denying that the man's a genius though.

and i'm back.

first off, i posted a new page - THE GRAVEYARD - which is my tribute to amazing bands that didn't make it as far as they should've. despite the demise of these bands though, i've made it part of my mission in life to continue exposing people to their muzik. along with that, don't forget to check out the BURIED TREASURE section for bands that are still around and should make sure to check out before they disappear.

second of all - i recently got a hold of Sprung Monkey's very first cd Situation Life (you can pick it up here) which is amazing because i've never seen it available anywhere before. anywho, upon ordering it i was slightly worried. i figured it would be good my $11 just to check out this piece of Sprung Monkey history, but i wasn't sure if it would be that amazing cause as much as i really like some tracks on Swirl (their second album), i was never a fan of it the way i was their other two albums.

however - Situation Life proved me really fucking wrong in my worries because this cd is amazing and by far one of the most amazing albums i've gotten my hands onto recently. it's way heavier and far more experimental than their later stuff and i fucking love it. there's a lot of really heavy guitar riffs that almost go metal in tone at times and some crazy funky bass riffs that bear resemblance to Les Claypool's funkiness. for Incubus fans, it's like the difference between Fungus Amongus and the rest of their discography. for non-Incubus fans, it's just goddamn amazing. the cd is very early 90's crazy experimental trying to redefine muzik in all sorts of ways and in my opinion if you don't check it you're life might just never be complete.

with that said - don't forget V is for Viagra, the Puscifer (Maynard James Keenan) remix album comes out tuesday along with 7 inches for DoZo and Queen B so pick that shit up.

oh, and one last thing. in Isis land all of the craziness over the Holy Tears single final got sorted it out and it's been out for a few weeks now (on cd anyway, the vinyl is still a mystery to me). i finally found a copy in my local Street Light and Isis has finally started selling it in the official store here. if you like Isis i would definitely pick it up. the artwork is really cool, the Melvins/Lustmord remix of Not in Rivers, But in Drops is the definition of how heavy muzik like this should be remixed, and the live version of Holy Tears with Justin Chancellor is amazing. just listen to how well they fill up that huge amphitheater they were in opening for Tool with their sound. it's mind boggling. it also contains a video for Holy Tears which i must confess, i still haven't watched by i will.

anyway, i'm out - more updates to come today or tomorrow.

so wow it's been sometime. no no no, this little project hasn't been forgotten, i've just been caught up in so many other things in life lately. there's also already a million people out there doing what i'm trying to do and doing it better, so i don't really feel bad about dropping off the face of this project for a while...plus, this is just a testing ground - it's still on the real thing.

now for the real babbling though, this entry isn't going to be very coherent, but i'm just gonna take some time to ramble about what i've been listening to lately and other musical nonsense. unless you're extremely bored, you should probably skip this.

i saw the Subhumans the other night. i won't lie, i've never really listened to them before. i know who they are, but i never listened to them. walking to show was pretty funny. i was wearing my Tool hoodie and some dipshit punk kid yells at me "TOOL'S NOT PUNK." no fucking shit genius, they should give you a fucking award for being able to point that one out. and beyond that, punk shows aren't about proving you are punker than everyone else, they are about finally having our fucking night out and hopefully avoiding the cops. if you really wanna prove who's punk though, grab a length of rope and let's go hang out in logan park asshole. show was good though, Subhuman's rocked it. there was this opening band La Pueble that was some spanish punk band. you could tell who all that watsonville kids were during their set. i liked it a lot.

the Ashes Divide cd came out last tuesday. i'm enjoying it. it's not quite what i was hoping for, but that doesn't mean it's bad or anything. i'll digest it slowly though. doesn't help that this comes out in the middle of me delving deep into a lot of hardcore.

i also picked up the Isis single for Holy Tears. the Melvins/Lustmord remix of Not in Rivers, But in Drops is so fucking amazing. i'm dying for more newer Isis remixes like this, and just, remixes of music like this by mixers like this. the live version of Holy Tears with Justin Chancellor (Tool) is fucking great too. QUESTION:: DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE 12" OF THIS IS OUT OR WHEN IT'S COMING OUT?!?!

Thrice's Alchemy Index Volumes III & IV (Air & Earth) comes out tuesday. i'm excited, but not dying over it. i liked some songs of vols. I &II a lot, but i wasn't in love with it all. however, i do think it's a really interesting project so i wanna hear what this shit sounds like.

was listening to a lot of Death By Stereo for a while there. i fucking love those guys and i can't wait for the next album and a touring schedule that takes them out of so cal. i know, i know, they came to SF with The Cult but fuck paying $40 to see DBS open for some band i don't even really know (apparently The Cult is something cool though, i dunno).

also, been listening to a crazy fucking amount of American Nightmare/Give Up The Ghost. i got a hold of their cover of Black Flag's Depression and just couldn't stop listening to it which led me to doing something i haven't done in a long time - i went out and bought their cd with no idea anything about the songs on it, or what the band sounded like other than that one cover song. so yeah, picked up Year One and it's absolutely mind blowing. the music is amazing and intense. Wes' lyrics are so beautiful and he is the most frantic singer ever. i love it. i'm hoping to get a hold of their other cds when i can (and if you are some i love American Nightmare but Give Up The Ghost sucks and i'm so hardcore kid - don't fucking leave me comments that everything after Year One sucks - grow up and see beyond your scene). with this i'm dying to get a hold of the S/T EP or Year One on vinyl. fuck yeah that would be tight.

all of this naturally led to me checking out XO Skeletons, who actually just put out a new cd that i love. the best i can describe it is it's MSI meets Give Up The Ghost. all this hardcore craziness mixed with electronics and a lot of fucking fun. go check it out. you've got 8 bucks, support the band and by the new EP directly from the band, then dance around naked in your room with a beer or glass of wine and have a good fucking 20 minutes. go go go! (oh, and you can download their 7" for free from their blog - just beware, when you open that shit, click get info on tracks 2 and 4 and change the volume to normal. for some reason when i downloaded them they were on full blast)

so yeah, i guess that's about it.
i love vinyl
i'm really interested is wes eisold's creative output
oh, and i think the world is ending
enjoy
