What portion of our day do we spend sleeping? Working? School? Between school and sleep, I know that, together, they take up about 2/3 of my day... leaving me with 1/3 of my day left to do anything. What could we be doing with that other 1/3 of the day? Can't we all afford to take some time to put some Time in God's Word? We may all make excuses such as, "I just don't have enough time in the day", or "I'm too busy," yet we still have time to watch TV, or play Video Games. I have faced these issues, personally, and have worked hard to take time out of every day, devoted to my study in God's Word. You may say, "I live a good life, and I don't need to read the Bible on a regular basis," but what does the Bible say about that? James 1:19-27 says that the Word will save us, so I think God wants his Word to be a large part of our lives. Try turning off the TV for 30 minutes... just 30 minutes, and devote that time to reading your Bible. We should be able to devote at least that much time to God.

God has blessed us all with Talents, and to say otherwise is an insult to God. We all posess something that is a reflection of our powerful, and creative God. The World around us is direct proof of his presence, and creativity. If we were made in his image, don't you think we posess some kind of talent? Though we may not all be an amazing musician like Lee McDerment, or incredible athletes like CJ Spiller, we all posess some skill that is unique to us. God wants us to show this talent to the World and show the World what He gave us! Use your talent for the Glory of God! If you make incredible music, use it to show God's Glory and spread His Word through your music. Don't ever think for a moment that you just don't have a talent because you definitely do! God wants us to take full advantage of what He has blessed us with!

Now comes the material possession that God wants us to be able to take our concentration off of. Luke 12:34 states that "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." What has become your God? Our treasure can be many things, but when we take our focus off God, we Worship another god called money. Everything in this World is his and we are here for a very short time. Let's not put our hearts into something as small as money. If we are willing to Tithe our money, and are careful with how we spend our money, then we no longer worship that god called money. I remember going into a service in High School, and I felt like all the preacher was talking about was MONEY! That's because I was convicted and I knew that he was reading my mail. Usually the ones that are guilty of worshiping money, are the ones that fight to keep every penny and refuse to give anything to the Church. We are to commit to the Bride of Christ and keep Her healthy!

I know that amidst all these political battles, there is a fear for our economy and the future of the World, but do remember that political parties, and agendas will only remain for a short time, and quickly fade away. The Church has been here for over 2000 years!!! The Church will be here to stay forever. If you want to give to a good cause, give to the Church, as it will not fade away and die. God has HUGE things in store for the Church and I'm so excited to be a part of what Newspring is doing in our community and throughout the world. It's such an honor to be working alongside such an amazing and dedicated group of people moving forward with the Glory of God!

I watched hundreds of teens take communion, break the bread, and participate in this Common Union and was absolutely amazed at the outcome. We serve such an AMAZING God who sent His only Son to die on the cross for us and was raised to life! We serving a risen Savior who is capable of anything! He has already defeated sin and our sins are washed white as snow through Jesus Christ!

Ray Boltz wanted to do something nice.

He’d visited the mostly gay Jesus Metropolitan Community Church in Indianapolis and liked Rev. Jeff Miner, so he decided to give him a copy of his 1997 holiday recording, “A Christmas Album.”

It was one of 16 albums Boltz, 55, recorded during a nearly 20-year recording career that saw the Muncie, Ind., native become one of the better-known singer/songwriters in Contemporary Christian Music, a genre born out of the Jesus Movement of the early 1970s that made singers like  Amy Grant,  Sandi Patty,  Michael W. Smith  and  Steven Curtis Chapman  superstars in religious music with occasional excursions into mainstream pop culture.

Boltz, with about 4.5 million LPs, cassettes and CDs sold, never made a splash outside of Christian circles but he never really tried. With a handful of RIAA Gold-certified albums, three Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association (GMA) and a string of 12 No. 1 hits on Christian radio, Boltz is a household name in evangelical circles. “Thank You,” (music) a sentimental song about a dream in which a Christian thanks the Sunday school teacher who led him to embrace Christ, is his signature song. It was the GMA song of the year in 1990 and has become a staple of Christian funerals. Other Boltz trademarks are  “Watch the Lamb,”  “The Anchor Holds”  &  “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb (Godtubevideo, location - Colosseum)”

Boltz brought the Christmas CD with him to MCC-Indianapolis on that cold, sunny December 2007 day and slipped it to Miner on his way out with a note taped to it on which he’d jotted his e-mail address.

Ostensibly it was an innocuous thing to do, but for Boltz it was a big step. It eventually led to him opening up to Miner, one of the first times anybody outside Boltz’s circle of family and friends knew his long-kept secret: Ray Boltz is gay.

“I didn’t make a big deal of it,” Boltz says during a 90-minute phone interview from his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. “But I was trembling. I’d kind of had two identities since I moved to Florida where I kind of had this other life and I’d never merged the two lives. This was the first time I was taking my old life as Ray Boltz, the gospel singer, and merging it with my new life. Emotionally it was kind of a big deal to think about that.”

Ray Boltz was tired of living a lie.

He’d gotten to a point nearly three years before where he couldn’t continue down the road his life had gone.

His 33-year marriage to ex-wife Carol was, he says, largely a happy one. It produced four children — three daughters and a son who are now between 22 and 32 — but family life and going through the motions of being straight had grown so wearying to Boltz, he was in a serious depression, had been in therapy for years, was on Prozac and other anti-depressants and had been, for a time, suicidal.

“I thought I hid it really well,” he says. “I didn’t know people could see what I was going through, the darkness and the struggle. After I came out to my family, one of my daughters said she was afraid to walk in my bedroom because she was afraid she’d find me — that I’d done something to myself. And I didn’t even know they’d picked it up.”

The Boltz family remembers Dec. 26, 2004 for two reasons: the tsunami in the Indian Ocean but also the tsunami that their husband and father unleashed when he told them what had been bothering him for so many years.

My high school life enhanced me most in collecting those gadgets. Every time we have our singing contest my teacher was choosing  me to become a great contender. And the moment I deliver a song I always feel nervous but still I can overcome it. 

The Album of Eric Santos, Gary Valenciano, Piolo Pascual, Jose Marie Chan, and Hillsong United are very important to me. When I know that the above artist release their Cd's I lend a money to my brother and he bought me one copies for my  collection.

Last year during the Search for Mr. and Ms. High School I rendered a serenade to the contestants which made  me glad out of my performance.  I remember before that when I joined for the search I choose singing as my talent and it made me won occupying a sets as Mr. High School. "Be my lady" is the title of the song I sung. Everytime I heard these,  playing in a radio I recall all the memories as I performed live and criticized by the audience.

That is why my weakness is collecting cds even it is expensive, I tried my best to have a copy of it. To those who  can read this, I hope you could express it in your own situation, practice the talent that you have that can make improve your personality.

I'm on the lookout for other upbeat worship songs. Any suggestions? I like to keep them somewhat uncomplicated and not too "rock" as we have limited instruments and our congregation is still sensitive to anything really loud. Yeah, I know, we're working on them :)
