BUT I am from Denmark, the world champion country of high taxes, which means, that it is often cheaper to purchase my goodies from the US og the UK. This has made me painfully aware of one small feature I really wish for in all the price indexes and price comparison sites. A lot of Uk and especially US webshops do not ship outside their countries.

So yesterday, when i sat and read Paul Grahams list of startup ideas, something sparked in the creative part of my brain. Why doesn't these price comparison websites make a 'ships to'-option.

For example, I am thinking about buying a Canon EOS 40d D-SLR with the 17-85mm lens, the current lowest price in Denmark is equivalent of about $2000. Using Google shopping, I have found prices as low as about $1000 adding shipping and import taxes I would end up around $1500, which is still a $500 save, my problem is that you can't see on Google shopping whether a shop offers shipping outside US, so I have to go to their website and look at their shipping options.

It would save me a lot of time if I could just do a Google shopping search like 'Canon eos 40d 17-85mm ships-to:Denmark' and get a list of shops that ships to Denmark.

Das Thema Online-Recht wurde besonders kontrovers diskutiert gerade im Hinblick auf die neue Musterwiderrufsbelehrung, die ab 1. April 2008 in Kraft tritt. Viele Teilnehmer äußerten den Wunsch, beim nächsten Stammtisch ggf. einen Fachreferenten für diesen Bereich einzuladen, z.B. von der Firma Trusted Shops.

Außerdem haben wir die Erfahrungen der verschiedenen Shops mit Produktportalen wie Google Shopping (Froogle), Yatego, billiger.de etc. ausgetauscht. Allgemein ist hier festzuhalten, dass die meisten der anwesenden Shop-Betreiber dort wirklich noch Potenzial ohne Ende haben, indem einfach verschiedene Maßnahmen, um neue Besucher auf die Shops aufmerksam zu machen, ausprobiert werden müssen. Insgesamt kann im Bereich Online-Marketing von den meisten noch sehr viel gemacht werden - auch z.B. mit personalisierten und gut gestalteten Newslettern, wie sie z.B. bereits beim www.stadeum.de erfolgreich zum Einsatz kommen. Wir sind sehr gespannt, was erste Testballone der einzelnen Teilnehmer in den nächsten Wochen für Ergebnisse zu Tage bringen werden.

Natürlich darf auf einem Online-Shop Stammtisch auch nicht die Diskussion über die verwendeten Zahlungsmethoden und mögliche Risiken, Vorteile und Kosten fehlen. So wurde auch den Themen Kreditkarten, PayPal & Co. viel Aufmerksamkeit und Interesse geschenkt. Auch dies muss sicher bei einem der nächsten Stammtische ggf. mit Referenten oder Best-Practise Beispielen weiter vertieft werden.

Ziemlich schnell wurde im Laufe des Abends klar, dass eine Institution wie dieser Stader Online-Shop Stammtisch wirklich offene Türen bei den Teilnehmern einrennt. Jedes Thema, das nur kurz angeschnitten wurde, war wie ein Stich in ein Wespennest und jeder Teilnehmer konnte meist bereits eigene Erfahrungen beisteuern. Wir hätten noch bis in die Nacht weiter diskutieren können, doch gegen 23.30 Uhr war dann wirklich Schluss. Wir freuen uns wirklich sehr, dass es den Teilnehmern so gut gefallen hat, und wir werden auf allgemeinen Wunsch hin in ca. 7 - 8 Wochen zum nächsten Stader Online-Shop Stammtisch wiederum alle gestrigen und gern auch weitere Gäste dazu offiziell einladen.
