We have seen them on Childhood Flames, Fashion Toast, The Sartorialist and they're even sitting in my closet - the black "heech" gladiators from Nine West. If you haven't seen them or don't already own them, I suggest these shoes if you are looking for a gladiator with some height. Even better is that they are on sale ($69.99) on their site.

Or should you opt for their fashion doppelgänger? I was perusing the Forever 21 shoe page, and came across the Blanea Wedge. Tres intéressant, non? At $24.80 and almost an identical, they could be the cure for your gladiator blues. The catch is they only come in brown.

SO, now it is up to you - another in brown, one of each, or none at all because you only think gladiators are a trend. If you ask me, you can never have too many gladiators; I've been collecting since 2002.

The Honeyshed site is pretty addictive. Although, they seem to gush way too much over the products they test out...not too sure about that.

KITTY!

I want a kitty, yet again.

Just before we fell asleep last night I brought this up again and tried and teach A. how to say `cat` in Chinese. In response, he suggested that we name my hypothetical cute kitty `Zedong`so that in full his name is Mao Zedong.

! I bet my mom would be really impressed by that!

Are you concerned about the potentially harmful effects of the sun? If so, you can keep yourself protected with the help of straw hats. Not only are straw hats stylish, versatile, and attractive, the can also effectively keep the sun out of your eyes and off of your face.

Everyone is well-aware of the potential dangers of being overly exposed to the sun. Not only is sun damaged skin more prone to cancer later in life, the glaring sun can harm your eyes and generally make you feel miserable. Although sun block can help prevent sunburn, wearing straw hats with a wide brim can also help keep the sun out of your eyes and keep you feeling cooler and more comfortable.

The good news is that straw hats are not associated with farmers or for people that are too poor to purchase a real hat. In fact, many of today’s celebrities can be found walking around on Rodeo Drive with a straw hat perched on top of their heads. From Jon Bon Jovi to Cameron Diaz, straw hats are both cool and trendy. In fact, if worn the right way and when accompanied by the right attitude, straw hats can be downright sexy.

One of the great aspects of straw hats is their versatility. While you can easily purchase a basic design for less than $50, you can add your own personal touches in order to better coordinate your hat with your outfit or with your mood. Embellishments such as scarves, ribbons, medallions, and even feathers can be easily added to straw hats and removed later, making it possible for you to put together a truly remarkable and unforgettable ensemble!

Although Virtual Neko won't be focusing solely on fashion, it's safe to say that roughly half of my posts will cover kitty couture on a regular basis. Because hair is such an essential element of an outfit -- especially critical for Nekos, in light of the extra furry parts on our bodies -- I wanted to share four of the styles I've been wearing lately on my new Virtual Neko blog.

Make sure your muffin top is a slight one, not a whole spare tire hanging over your pants, and also make sure the skin is completely covered.

Still has orginal tags and is a steal at this price. Enjoy its classy but everyday look. My sister bought it for me and I know I just will not use it. It is too fancy for my life style.
Fourth of July weekend was a busy weekend, indeed, and I most certainly welcomed a paid holiday, a l

Fourth of July weekend was a busy weekend, indeed, and I most certainly welcomed a paid holiday, a little bit o' rest, and some great memories made with wonderful friends. I told someone over the weekend that L.A. feels a little bit more like home each day, with a few exceptions, and the time off afforded me a chance to get to strengthen some great friendships. It was a busy, busy weekend. This morning at 11 a.m. I had brunch with the Ladies Who Brunch from my church small group at the lovely friend K's home. Since then I have spent the entire day in my apartment resting, reading, and eating, save the 15 minutes I spent only a moment ago at the gas station. I filled my entire tank for $50 at $4.55 per gallon. My goal is to make this tank last for 2 weeks. Let's see how I do.

Thursday D invited me to the wrap party for the film he and his brother G have been working on. D has been working as the producer's assistant, and G is some type of coordinator. They have been working long, hard hours for the past several weeks, and the wrap party provided them the opportunity to bring their very supportive girlfriends to hear some good music, eat some good food, and schmooze with the Hollywoods. And, thanks to the fantastic outfit suggestions of several friends, I purchased this dress at Forever 21 before the event. It was cute, vintage-ey, cheap, tasteful, hip, and fit me perfectly. Unfortunately, Forever 21 makes crap clothing, and the zipper broke while I was frantically trying to get ready after work. Hence, I had to throw together a different outfit with stuff I already had. But this conundrum afforded me the chance to wear my new hat. Also, at the wrap party, Tea Leoni touched my shoulder. I was pretty un-star-struck about the whole thing. She was trying to get people who were standing outside to come in and hear Billy Bob Thorton's band play. I heard one song, and it was great, but I was there to hang out with my friends, and it was too loud in the room to really talk.

All dressed up and ready to go, but apparently D is sulking. Perhaps he wanted to wear a hat too.

Galen ruins everything.

Billy Bob Thorton's band provides the entertainment for the evening.

We like each other. Sometimes.

After all of this, I realized that I didn't get any pictures of me with G's girlfriend N, who is an awesome little lady, and I had such a fun time with her.

Friday the four of us went to a pool party hosted by a co-worker of our friend AB. It was a great time and the perfect setting for a hot day. Yay, hamburgers! Yay, America! Happy Independence Day! Afterward D and I both took naps because we were exhausted from our cavorting, and then we watched one of my favorite movies, a little-known Steve Martin film called Lonely Guy.

Saturday a whole cohort of D and G fans (not Dolce and Gabbana -- D and his brother) came over to my apartment to read through the script of a little project they are working on. The friends gave feedback on it, and the boys got some very helpful critiques. Again, I was so busy hosting that I totally forgot to pull out the camera. Another great photographic opportunity is lost for the sake of etiquette. That evening the boys, N, and I went to a new favorite restaurant, Natalee Thai on Venice Blvd.

Today I had the aforementioned brunch and have been lazy all day. It's been a welcome break. I wish the time didn't fly by so quickly.

And while we're in photo-posting mode, here are a few photos from last weekend, when D and I went to his former roommate C's wedding. It was an outdoor wedding at a country club, and I most certainly wore a hat.

D found it so attractive that he had to try it on himself...

...and again. notice the finger he recently slammed in a car door.

And here is Blue-Eyes looking a little more masculine.

FIMC
Welcomes
Jenny
Banister
FIMC have forged ties with iconic Australian Designer Jenny Bannister! A collection of Bannister’s archival pieces from the raging 70’s and the hedonistic 80’s are on display in the FIMC retail gallery for a limited time, complimenting her current collection on sale to the public. FIMC and Jenny Bannister launched the partnership on Friday the 23rd of May, with a networking session with designers and members of the public over glasses of bubbly! FIMC welcome Jenny to the fold, and looks forward to participating in a range of FIMC events throughout the year. Be sure to check out the installation of Jenny’s incredible anthology of garments in our retail gallery, which are usually reserved for collections in a range of Australian museums; such as the Powerhouse in Sydney. The installation features Bannister’s infamous Mad Max leather ensemble, and creates a colourful and historic contrast to the work of FIMC’s young aspiring designers. Stand out from the herd in one of her signature wild and beautiful cocktail dresses, which come
in a range of fabrics incorporating bamboo, steel, and delicate feathers.

GRIN AND
WEAR IT
Grin and Wear It is an eclectic range of individually designed, hand Made, resin jewellery, from Frieda McGirr. The range encompasses a broad range of colours, styles, and designs. Every piece within the range is hand made, unique, and made with passion and endeavours to use materials that not only make their Jewellery unique but also sturdy and ageless. Frieda McGirr has a background in the building and renovating industry but also persued her hobbies of sculpturing and painting through formal training. McGirr’s talents evolved
during her time as an artist selling contemporary art works through an Australian gallery to local, interstate, and overseas collectors. It was through the use of resin in her artwork that McGirr was inspired to make resin jewellery, because she absolutely loved its complex yet versatile nature. Brighten your winter wardrobe
with a splash of colour from the Grin and Wear it range, exclusively stocked at FIMC.

Watch for hot bargains while keeping an eye on the properties that might be picked up on the cheap! Play to your strengths, but be ready to take a fixer-upper and make it beautiful! Grab something uptown and watch as its value goes through the roof or try your hand as a speculator and hope for a lucky break! You can even earn your money the old fashioned way with a lot of hard work and elbow grease! Part game, part simulator but all fun! That's Real Estate Empire!
