Lagipula Medina punya senyuman yang indah. Agar lebih keliatan seperti di pantai warna kuning sengaja dicorengkan dipipinya seperti sunblock. Seirama dengan background yang juga berwarna kuning. Segelas lemon lime menemani si nona manis ini biar nggak kehausan... :)

"Before Gizmodo, I worked in the bowels of the broadcast industry for a number of years. I was either shooting video or cutting video every day, all day. And while Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects were both tools I used with some proficiency on a daily basis, I've never seen a post production demo as incredible as this clip from the University of Washington.

Essentially, you shoot some crappy, low-rez video of a still scene. You then reshoot the same scene with a digital camera (with higher resolution). Software can automagically combine these images to upconvert the video AND fix problems in the image— all while compensating for 3D space. Make sense? The remarkable demo will clarify things a bit:

What's especially notable is that the software can fill in the nasty bits of the scene despite the videographer/photographer rotating their view (you see this as they shoot around the tree) and despite any lens differences (the software can compensate for different lens sizes/distortions).

Also, note that many details from the source video are retained (the glass reflections in the statue shot may be the best example), which means that the photograph's information isn't the only information we see in the composite image.

I'm not quite convinced that the entire process is quite as automatic as the students would make it, but the technology is extremely promising all the same. And at this point, it should only be a matter of time before we see the idea work its way into our favorite post production products."

As Mark Wilson points out at Gizmodo points out, There are some questions that still need to be answered. However the software still looks very promising.

I was a bit confused why “seven days a week” cannot be written as “all week” or “all days of the week”. The answers that I received were common sense and enlightening:

“‘Seven days a week’ was perfectly normal construction in American English,” said a member from Florida adding, “this way the phrase eliminates any ambiguity of what a ‘week’ is.” He meant that since in the US there are “week days” and “weekend days,” there is a possibility of ambiguity which the phrase gets rid of if clearly written as “seven days a week”.

Another member said, “seven days a week” implies that other establishments are open on fewer days each week, for example, “six days a week” or “five days a week”.

“The mention of seven days in the expression is important as some people reading the article may come from a culture in which the normal working week is less than seven days, six days for instance. Such a person might assume that ‘all week’ means a working week of six days,” said an elaborate post.

In the UK, the phrase is used as good English and is understood easily with no ambiguity. A member said, “The alternatives are not so good: ‘all week’ may mean seven days, or ‘the working week’, which many assume to be five days. ‘All days of the week’ is equally vague, plus is ungrammatical. Instead, ‘every day of the week’ would be a little better.”

In all these answers there are a few important points:

§ importance of the order of words,
§ importance of the meaning we wish to convey in our writings,
§ check whether our sentences convey the intended meaning,
§ understand different cultures and keep global readership in mind,
§ apply regular grammar and spell checks, and
§ bring clarity of thought for unambiguous writing.

It is important here to realise how loaded each word is, and how carefully an editor/reader must read. Thanks to everyone who cared to reply to my query.

Wake up, check your iPhone for emails before you so much as roll out of bed, go to your computer to check the response times of agents/editors at the Blue Boards, compare with your excel spreadsheets, brush teeth/do hair/try to act like you are about to be productive, go check inbox, check blogs, check inbox, open your Word document, check inbox, stare at screen, check inbox, hit refresh, hit refresh, hit refresh...

Ok, so first thing's first. Take your mouse off the refresh button. Navigate away from your inbox. Close the entire window. Yes, I promise it will be ok. Your emails will still be waiting for you in an hour's time. I swear.

Now, here's how we can better spend our time:

1. Edit. You might be too wound up to write anything new. Fine. Sometimes that happens. But think about what you can do that is productive. I mean really, really productive. Editing! Go back a few pages and read. Fix any glaring errors or maybe flesh a scene out. This activity is well worth your while, somehow feels less intensive, and is completely guilt free.

2. Grab your notebook. Not your laptop, the kind that involved killing trees. Thanks. Now, go sit on a couch, away from your computer and work out a plot point. If that's too intensive for your little, wound up mind, think of snippets of dialogue. Again, this takes fewer brain cells, removes your from temptation, and yet is an activity related to your next WIP. Feel good about it.

3. Research. Anything to add realism or depth to your new project. Unfortunately, this places you closer to your computer, but, luckily, your inbox is not just minimized but closed, so resist! Plus, research is fun. Who doesn't like to learn new things? Plus, the knowledge needed to write novels is usually the useless kind and that's the best stuff to know anyhow. Take notes.

4. Storyboard. This takes a bit more brain power, so to do this activity you'll need to not be entirely consumed by the anticipation that comes with waiting for an agent/editor's verdict. Get a big piece of cardboard and a bunch of post-its. Use different colored post-its because that's more fun and a ruler to draw the lines because it will look prettier when you finish. Make it look like a weekly calender. A margin on top and then divide into smaller column units. The smaller column units will be labeled as chapters. Different colored post-its should signify different things like characters introduced, clues given, or red herrings thrown in. This way you can visualize how everything is coming together. Plus, with post-its you can move things around as necessary. This will help you to identify plot holes and to see where the story climaxes and mini-climaxes.

5. Go to the library. I know, you probably already have your coat, keys, and are halfway out the door. But, really, reading within your genre is incredibly important and should never be considered a waste of your time. This is also the best way to forget about the milliseconds passing in which you've received no emails from Dream Agent #1. Read the book for fun, but pay special attention to what worked in the book and what didn't. Note what scenes you loved and the ones you hated. As you read more within your genre, try to figure out the trends. You shouldn't necessarily write for the market, but you should understand it. Of course, if you can afford to do this all at the bookstore, then more power to you. But, hey! We're trying to decrease stress, so if spending a billion dollars on books doesn't make you feel great, don't feel bad. Use the library, it's the American way! (Also, libraries are great customers for publishers and therefore your favorite authors because they often by multiple copies in hardcover. A great way to help your favorite authors is to request that the library order the book if they don't have it already!)

6. Finally, if you really can't handle writing related activities--Attend to Real Life. Writers always complain about real life getting in the way. Well, maybe washing your socks and running the dishwasher is exactly the diversion you need.

Jika suatu saat, anda melakukan pekerjaan mengetik, kemudian ingin menghapus suatu karakter atau kata tertentu di dalam seluruh teks, tentu sangat tidak efektif jika anda melakukannya secara manual, dengan menghapusnya satu persatu. Memang tidak ada tools atau menu tertentu yang disediakan oleh teks editor untuk melakukan tugas tersebut secara otomatis.

Namun dekat sedikit trik anda dapat menyiasati tools Replace yang biasanya dimiliki oleh hampir semua teks editor untuk melakukan hal tersebut. Misalkan untuk teks editor Word dan Notepad, anda dapat mengaksesnya melalui menu Edit > Replace atau dengan menggunakan shortcut Ctrl+H. Setelah jendela menu Replace terbuka, isikan karakter atau kata tertentu yang ingin dihapus pada bagian Find what:, sedangkan pada bagian Replace with: kosongkan saja, kemudian tekan tombol [Replace All] untuk mengeksekusinya, dengan begini maka tools Replace akan menghapus karakter atau kata yang dimasukkan tadi.

Jika tidak seluruh karakter atau kata tertentu pada teks ingin anda hapus, misalkan anda hanya ingin menghapus karakter atau kata tertentu pada suatu paragraph tertentu saja, maka anda dapat mengkombinasikan cara diatas dengan fungsi blok. Caranya adalah blok terlebih dahulu paragraph yang akan dihapus karakter atau kata tertentunya, kemudian baru jalankan cara yang telah disebutkan diatas. Mudah kan? Selamat mencoba. (wp)

Instead it’s about proofreading. Sometimes when I write I think I am half asleep. The brain doesn’t always function in the way I want it to, unfortunately. And from time to time you get sloppy. It happens to everyone. You get into a grove and before you know it the word individual ends up as infidels. Don’t laugh…I did this one, and the worst part is I did not catch it. Since the word was not spelled incorrectly spell check did not catch it. Lucky for me the client I was working for is very easy going.

So, today’s lesson is to proofread everything…at least twice. Spell check will catch your misspellings and grammar check is great for pointing out those sentence fragments but if you say Manger (as in Jesus was lying in a manger) instead of Manager (person in charge) your spell check isn’t going to catch it and if you aren’t careful you won’t catch the error either.

I do all of my writing in Microsoft Word though if I am using Ryan’s computer I have to use Open Office. In open office there is a predictive text option that will auto complete the words for you (it’s like that annoying predictive text – T9 – which you see on cell phones). That program will get you in trouble too if you are not careful. Open office is a great program, and it’s free but if you aren’t careful you can really screw up an article using the auto complete options.

www.dictionary.com – Who wants to carry around a bulky dictionary? Use this site to look for definitions. They also have a thesaurus that is great for changing up the words you use in your text.

http://www.openoffice.org – An alternative to Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. You can even save your text in a word format.

http://www.bu.edu/com/writingprgm/ap_styleguide1.pdf (Need Adobe Reader to view) – Most web content should be written in AP style. This handy guide is like the bible for writers. Bookmark this page until you can get a copy of the AP Style Guide (You can pick one of these up at the bookstore in the mall or the college bookstore)

The best way to find Photoshop is to simply type in Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended. Depending on which one you want. But for newbies just download Photoshop CS3. Okay when looking for torrents you want to find one that has good ratings, reviews and also has a lot of seeders and not a lot of leechers. Depending on which one you chose please make sure you run a virus scan on it.

FYI: The best virus scanner for links and websites is AVG. It works wonders!

Anyway, once you've gotten the want to get click it and hit download or whatever. A window on your desktop should pop up saying what would you like to do? Open on save. Well you want to open it and it that drop down menu it should say uTorrent or BitTorrent, which ever on you've downloaded. If it isn't close it and make sure the torrent is the default cause if you have limewire; the newest one Limewire automatically makes it the default torrent downloader.

FYI: Limewire is risky to use and it isn't a good torrent find nor a good torrent downloader.

FYI: If you don't want to go through the hassles of find a site to go to find a torrent. Download Torrent Harvester, its also a file thats safe and doesn't take up practically NO space. All you would have to do is type in the name of the program, music, video, game that you want to find and it will find all the available torrents. Still make sure you check the website and see if its good or not basically double check and still do the virus scan.

Okay back to Photoshop; once its finished downloading and what not. Right click and Open containing folder. It should be instructions and such within the folder to help you further. If the instructions are confusing, you can always hit me up and I can try to help you with the best of my abilities.

Theres another way you can get Photoshop. Download the trial then find a decent patch. A patch is basically a file that automatically adds the serial. Which is another thing you can do. You can find serials but thats more stress and searching than its worth and most doesn't work.
