Duplicate Publication"

And now that you know this really cool fact your gonna tell all your friends about my website because i'm sooooooo awesome.

Anyways, here's how to get backstage, follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Go to the snow forts and go over to the Store.

Step 2: Buy the backstage pass.

Step 3: Go to the dock and go behind the curtain to the backstage!

Not everybody can go backstage though! Only members, this might make some non-members sad, in fact I saw that it made some non-members go on strike! (Not quite sure how running around saying we want in is gonna get them in though)

Don't worry, nonmembers, you can see the backstage right here....

Backstage there's a catalog, here it is.

Here's the Snow Forts Catalog.

On an unrelated topic I saw some guy standing on the Dance Club advertising Club Penguin HQ.

My favorite music was at the lighthouse and the music I hated the most was at the forest.

That's all for now! See ya on the flip-side! ~Karpolo

Overlooking West Seattle across Elliot bay and facing the cool ocean breeze: I can’t think of anything more relaxing. After a long Wednesday, what else could I ask for J. Not that I have repented any of my decisions so far (knock on wood), but evenings like these make me thank myself for my choice of location.

Sitting here and watching boats sailing the serene and peaceful waters of the sound, takes my mind so away from the hustle of Seattle. The so noisy and crowded downtown which is vibrant with traffic and commuters all day goes peacefully quiet with the wee hours of twilight. As I sat here enjoying my moment of solace, the door squeaked open and sooner than I knew, I had company.

A couple of weeks ago, on a cloudy Saturday afternoon, I set out to explore some museums in Pioneer Square. As I was waiting at the bus-stop, I was joined by an old British lady who in-spite of having lived in this city for over four decades, didn’t quite have any affinity for the place. It wasn’t very cold that day but she felt so I believe and so interestingly, our chito-chat started with her pointing out that I definitely needed some warm attire to suit the weather J Dodging the remark with utmost subtlety, I moved the conversation to her cities of choice. Hailing from the country of Union Jack and having traveled far and wide in Europe, the beauty in US did not lure her much. With no family around either, she said she could step out of Seattle any-day and never look back. But she said the same for San Francisco and New York……uhmmm is there a pattern ;) She surely recommended me a trip to Vancouver via Amtrak and a must-see Victoria Islands. Her conversation and tales that she shared definitely pointed out the fact that she was an avid traveler. And for her age, her enthusiasm was commendable. The commuter’s fate: her bus arrived and we exchanged farewell greetings.

A swish of flashback, and there I was on my roof deck, standing face to face to the same lady. World is small, the blocks are even smaller. It turns out that we live in the same apt complex and we share the same choice of hide-out J A round of formal introductions was followed by stories from England, California, shopping suggestions (hello ladies :p ), jogs/walks et-al.

I had an 'actual' Déjà vu though…….today too, she was feeling cold and I still wasn’t dressed warm !! ;)

"I BELIEVE IN THIS MEDALLION! LET ME TELL YOU A TRUE STORY. I HAD A NIGHTMARE ABOUT A MAN I DID NOT KNOW. HE CAME TO MY HOUSE TO ROB ME AND POSSABLY KILL ME. HE HAD A HAMMER TO BEAT ME ABOUT THE FACE AND HEAD WITH. WHEN I WOKE UP I WAS GLAD IT WAS A DREAM! BUT IT WAS NOT, IT WAS A VISION WARNING ME. SO, SOME TIME WENT BY AND I WAS HOME ALONE. IT WAS A RAINY DAY AND I HAD GONE OUT TO FEED AND WATER MY DOGS.JUST THEN IT STARTED TO RAIN REALLY HARD SO I RAN IN TO CHANGE. I LOCKED THE DOOR NOB AND DEADBOLT BEHIND ME! (I NEVER LOCKED MY DOOR BEFORE) THEN THERE WAS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR. IT WAS THE MAN FROM MY DREAM. I WAS SO SCARED IWAS TERRIFIED! I SAW EVIL IN HIS EYES!. AT FIRST I WAS QUIET I THOUGHT HE WOULD GO AWAY. THEN I NOTICED A YELLOW RAIN JACKET WITH A HAMMER SLIGHTLY EXPOSED IN HIS LEFT HAND. I MOVED THE CURTAIN ASIDE SHOWING ONLY MY FACE AND ASKED HIM WHAT HE WANTED. HE GIGGLED, SAID HE NEEDED HELP HE WAS BROKE DOWN UP THE ROAD. PHONE IN ONE HAND SHOTGUN IN THE OTHER. 911 WAS CALLED AND I TOLD HIM TO GO ACROSS THE ROAD AND THERE WAS A MAN WHO WOULD HELP HIM. HE KEPT REPEATING ME AND WAS HESSITANT TO GO, BUT THEN I CLUTHCHED MY MEDALLION IN MY HAND AND RIGHT THERE AND THEN WAS MY ANGEL TO HELP ME,HE LEFT! LATER THAT KNIGHT I WENT TO THE STORE. I WAS TELLING THE LADY WHO WORKED THERE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SHE SAID SHE USUALLY HAD A HELPER BUT HER HUSBAND GOT SICK . SHE HAD TO TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL. WHILE THEY WERE GONE SOMEONE BROKE INTO THEIR HOME. SO THANK YOU IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY AND BLESS YOU FOR SENDING THIS MEDALLION MY WAY! FRIENDS, ALWAYS TAMMY"

The Police. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Eagles...

All great bands. All great musicians. All hate some, if not all, of their band mates.

What is it about a band full of guys who can't stand eachother that makes for such great music? I guess there could be many reasons but, I'm gonna take volatility for $400, Alex. Luckily, most of these bands have found a way to overcome this cycle of loathing.

It's called money. Big truckloads of cash can do a lot to ease the stress of mutual hatred.

At least it's worked a lot lately with a bunch of older bands. Like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

In 1968 Buffalo Springfield was breaking up, and after finishing the final album. Stephen Stills found himself with a lot of extra time on his hands. David Crosby had been let go from the Byrds the previous year, and the two began jamming together. Graham Nash, then with The Holies, had met Crosby when the Byrds toured the UK in 1966 and had maintained contact since. Then, on one magical night at a party, Nash persuaded Crosby and Stills to perform on of their songs with Nash singing an improvisational harmony...and a legend was born.

As it turns out Graham was fed up with The Hollies and promptly quit to give this new group a try. After a rejection from Apple Studios, the group was picked up by Atlantic thanks to the sure hand of the legendary Ahmet Ertegün, who was a huge Springfield fan. Because of their volatile musical histories, the band used their surnames as the bands new title to ensure that if any member left, the band would not continue without him. After hammering out some contractual problems, the band headed to the Studio and recorded their self-titled first album, which was released in spring of 1969.

The album was a smash, but presented the band with a major problem. With the exception of their drummer, Dallas Taylor, Stills had handled most of the intrumentalization himself. It was an impressive feat, but if the band was to tour, they needed another guy.

That's where Neil Young came in.

After some more contractual tweaking, Neil was added to the band and the moniker as well...and the tour began. After a trial by fire at Woodstock and a near miss escape from the disaster at Altamont, CSNY released their new quartet back album, "Deja Vu" in March of 1970. Brimming with supernatural harmonies and great music to back them up, the album quickly topped the charts with it's mixture of pop, rock, country and roots music.

Hit's like 'Carry On' and "Teach Your Children' would help propel it to the top for years afterward and cement it a place in rock history. Shortly after the tour the band imploded, although they still continue to tour and record from time to time.(read every few years)

This week’s question comes from Jas

“This is like Déjà vu all over again.” – Yogi Berra

This week’s question comes from Jason – Put me in your top 8 or the puppy dies!

Jason has been experiencing extreme déjà vu, mostly at work, where it seems that he is repeating entire conversations that he has already had. It seems surreal, and he also figures that if it had happened before, the person would tell him that they’ve already discussed this.

What is Déjà vu?

I picked this question because I figured it was short and also something most of us have experienced (70% of the population reports having déjà vu at least once.) It’s also a fun discussion because there is more than one correct answer.

I highly recommend this book.

-According to Sylvia Browne Déjà vu is a checkpoint. She teaches that we plan our life ahead of time in a blueprint. We plan who we are going to marry, who we are going to work out karma with, how many kids we are going to have, what we are coming here to learn. We put certain obstacles and lessons in our path so our soul can evolve. Of course we still have free will, but we basically sketch out certain things we want to come here to accomplish for our own spiritual growth. Déjà vu then is a checkpoint that marks that we are on the right path. It is usually something silly. For example, you reach down to pick up your car keys, and swear you have done it before at exactly this time, exactly this place, exactly this way, which is impossible because you were just in the kitchen. Yet, you still have that feeling. Sylvia Browne says that this is a check point. A moment that you planned ahead of time, that signifies that you are on the correct path, that your soul will remember and recognize when it passes through this point, this moment in time. So basically it’s a sign you are on the correct path.

-Sometimes déjà vu is a psychic moment. You knew this was going to happen. You saw it ahead of time. And now it really is happening. Prophetic dream, premonition, intuition, you remembered the future. You saw this ahead of time, now it’s actually happening.

-It’s a do over. In various spiritual philosophies one of the given spiritual laws is that there is no time. If there is no time this means we can incarnate at ANY point in time. That means that if we choose our next life could very well be in the 1400’s. We don’t have to follow a timeline, because there is no time. So just because its 2007 right now in this dimension, in this plane of reality, in this incarnation… doesn’t mean its 2007 everywhere else, or in the after life. This would also mean that you could choose to repeat this life. Instead of choosing to be a highlander in 1432 for your next life, or a space explorer in 2078, you could decide to come right back to the 1960’s and do this life over. Maybe you want to try repeating this life, but this time you don’t want to get divorced, you decide to go to law school, or maybe you just want to see what this life would have been like if you had moved to Alaska and had six kids. Therefore déjà vu, is you remembering this moment, from the last time you were here doing this.

-We can take this one step further as well. In his latest book, At Home With God, Neale Donald Walsch tells us a bit about dying. He says that when we die, we actually are given the choice to stay dead and go on to heaven, or come back. And when we come back… we get to choose what point we want to come back to. This means we can say, “Hey God, you know I want to go back, but I want to go back to when I was in college in 1983 because I think my life would have gone much better if I had stayed in Med School instead of dropping out and getting married.” AND POOF. You go back to 1983 and this time do things a bit differently. You get to keep exploring the possibilities of this incarnation, but this time with a different twist. So déjà vu is you remembering a moment when you did this before, when you were in this situation before.

- In his book At Home with God, Neale Donald Walsch makes another point as well. He talks about the moment of death, and certainly it could come into play with déjà vu as well. Say you die in a car accident. You get to heaven, and make the choice to come back. But you want to come back to that same moment and just continue on from there. So you just go back a few minutes before.

There you are on the same street corner. Déjà vu. You look around and KNOW you have been here before, but of course, you don’t remember getting hit by a bus. You see the bus, you have an eerie feeling, but in that moment you remember you forgot your wallet in the bookstore and head back to the store… or in that moment a person asks you for directions preventing you from crossing the street and getting in the way of the bus. Events have been changed and this time you didn’t die.

-Just FYI, Déjà vu is also linked with schizophrenia and temporal lobe epilepsy. Turns out that Déjà vu could just be an electrical neurological misfire or a brief epileptic seizure. Which would mean that if we subscribe to what that research suggests, 70% of us are either schizophrenic or have had at least ONE epileptic fit. I think though that we can all agree that the déjà vu we have experienced doesn’t really fit into the “epileptic fit” theory. And schizophrenia is a very serious disorder, with very severe symptoms; I highly doubt that 70% of the population is just undiagnosed schizophrenics. Of course, it would explain some things. (Like those voices I think are talking to me!)

Tell me what kind of déjà vu have you experienced?
Does it happen to you frequently?
What do you think it is?
A memory?
A checkpoint?
A do over?
Something you dreamt?
A premonition?
A glimpse into another dimension?
A glitch in The Matrix?
An epileptic seizure?
An electrical neurological misfire?
A sign of schizophrenia?
A sign you are stuck in your own version of the movie Groundhog’s day?

What’s your theory on Déjà Vu?

Deja Vu!

Following in the footsteps of Rachel Smith who fell down during last year's Miss Universe contest, Crystle Stewart, the current Miss America, trips on her dress at this year's Miss Universe.

Again?! Seriously?!

Come on! We are the United States of America. Designers from around the world come to the US to practice their craft. We have no shortage of designer talent. Can we not design a stupid dress for our Miss America that won't stick to her butt like stink on a monkey?

Aug. 19. Tickets on sale tomorrow at noon. $39.50

Other items:

Did you remember to watch the VH1 Honors show for The Who last night? Could there have been a better group to open the show than the Foo Fighters? I think not. How friggin’ good were they? Their energy is electric and their version of “Young Man Blues” was incredible. I jumped out of my seat while watching and called friends just to make sure they were watching (you can catch a repeat of this show over the weekend). Then Gaz Coombes from Supergrass joined the Foo’s to cover “Bargain” and I was blown away. The Foo’s look like they have so much fun out there and I can’t say enough about these guys. The highlights for the show were the following: Pearl Jam. It’s amazing how grandiose this band has become as they now are no longer the new guys on the block. Dare I say that their version of “Love Reign O’er Me” is better than the original? If not, it’s pretty close. And they did an awesome job recreating one of my favorite Who songs- “Real Me.”

Wayne Coyne in that inflatable space ball was real cool and his band, The Flaming Lips, did a nice job on the medley from Tommy. I’ll throw in Incubus as well (I thought they were done) with their cover of “I Can See for Miles” and “I Can’t Explain.” And of course The Who (obviously not the same without Entwistle and Moon). I thought their set was top notch as well and my favorite performance from them was “My Generation.” The coolest clips they showed last night was one where John Entwistle was shown playing the bass so fluently and effortlessly. He could really play- check out his work on all the Who songs and one in particular- “Boris The Spider.”

John Mellencamp released his “Life, Death, Love & Freedom” album this past Tuesday. Very different from what you’d expect. If you are a Mellencamp fan just remember that Mr. T. Bone Burnett produced this project and it has his “sound” all over it. Definitely no songs like “R-O-C-K in The USA” here. Average rating on I-Tunes is 3.5 stars. The comments range from “brilliant” to “I thought he was dead.”“My Sweet Love” sounds like something that was left off of the Plant & Krauss album “Raising Sand.” Mellencamp has stated that he needed to do this album and doesn’t care if he sells five copies.

Bruce Springsteen has released a four song EP along with the accompanying video through I-Tunes and it is his “Magic Tour Highlights.” I have to admit this is very cool and I like it. Alejandro Escovedo joins Bruce & the E-Street Band for his new single “Always A Friend” (which is my new favorite song of the week). Tom Morello joins them for a rendition of “The Ghost of Tom Joad.” The legendary Roger McGuinn joins them for a version of “Turn, Turn, Turn.” (Tell me he doesn’t sound like Tom Petty or should it be Petty sounds like McGuinn?) And the video for “4th of July, Asbury Park” has the last performance of one of the original E-Street members, Danny Fedrici, who passed away this past April from melanoma. Everyone involved is waiving their royalties and all the money from the sale of this CD/DVD will go to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. A nice touch!!

Go out and purchase the Randy Travis song “Faith in You” from his latest album “Around the Bend.” Great song period!!

Remember a few months ago I told you about the song “Addicted” from Ace Young, well his new CD is finally out and I will now change my stance and say that his other single “You Redeem Me” will be the song of the summer. This is pop music at its best.

My favorite old school song of the week is “Teacher” from Jethro Tull. I know, I’m still pissed that they beat out Metaliica for the first heavy metal Grammy but these boys had some good tunes and I recognize that.

Another old school favorite this week is The Who’s “The Punk and the Godfather” from Quadrophenia. This is the Who’s week by far.

I have to tell you that I am thisclose to buying the seemingly great collaboration between Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis “Two Men with the Blues.” This is a recording of their performance in January 2007 at Lincoln Center in NY City. This sounds terrific. I am going out on the ledge (just from the 30 second samples) and say that this is a must buy.

Received an e-mail this week from my friend Chris and it was a clip from You Tube featuring an 11 year old, Sungha Jung, playing acoustic guitar. You have to take a look and a listen: Go to :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uG_y8_FiKM&feature=related and you will also see many other tracks he has performed. Awesome.

Miracle happening this coming Tuesday, from the pages of Mr. Axl Rose, Zach De La Rocha is appearing from the ashes and will put out a new CD with his band- One Day As A Lion. He’s not in Axl’s category but he is number two when promising to put out new material and taking more than 7 years to do it.

This weeks I-Tune shuffle landed on “Carry On” by Crosby, Stills Nash & Young from their 2nd album but first with Neil Young. Of course I had to go back and listen to the classic album “Déjà vu.” I love the guitar work on Carry On and their vocals together rank up as one of the all-time greatest harmonizing team ever. This album lands on #147 on Rollingstone’s magazines list of the top 500 albums. “One morning I woke up and knew you were really gone.” I love the bridge in this song as they break to “where are you going now my love, where will you be tomorrow… questions of…” This song was penned by Stephen Stills and cracks my top 50 songs ever. Track # 2 is the great “Teach Your Children” written by Graham Nash. Did you know he was part of The Hollies? Everyone knows this song and you can’t say it’s not good. Track # 3 belongs to David Crosby with “Almost Cut My Hair.” Now this song puts me back at Woodstock (if I was old enough). Then its on to Mr. Young with “Helpless”- now no offense to Young’s fans but this doesn’t fit the album. I understand each one of them were taking turns writing tracks but it kills the flow. And I love this song.

Track # 5 is my favorite of this album, a song written by Joni Mitchell but this version is by far the best: “Woodstock.” Now I know you are all going to tell me you have heard this song a million times but how can you not love the intro to this song? Once you hear it- you’re hooked- you have to listen to the whole song again. The walls are bleeding right now. This is the perfect summer song!! Blast it at your next BBQ. “By the time we got to Woodstock…” I can listen over and over and over. How cool is the title track? Oh man just pure greatness with their harmonizing vocals at the beginning? “If I had I ever been here before I would probably know just what to do… Don’t you?” It then morphs into a psychedelic tune where you find yourself playing air bass guitar and wondering what kind of stuff Crosby was on when he wrote it. Track #7 is another Nash popular tune- “Our House.” Years ago I was embarrassed to admit that I love this song but can no longer deny it. (even the “La, La, La” part). (On another note it was the ending song on last night's show on CBS- Swingtown).

I guess if I was old enough back in the early 70’s I would have been a big fan of Stephen Stills because I seem to gravitate to the songs that he wrote and this is especially true with track # 8: “4 + 20.” It’s a beautiful song but with some powerful ending lyrics. Track #9 belongs to Mr. Young and this is probably one of the best songs he has ever written: “Whisky Boot Hill/ Down, Down, Down/ Country Girl (I think you’re pretty).” I especially like when all four are singing “If I could stand to see her crying.. I would tell her not to care…” The last track was actually written by Young and Stills (I guess when they weren’t all fighting). “Everybody I Love You” is the song that has the most “kick” on this album. I can’t say enough about the harmonizing vocals, excellent here again.

Déjà Vu was released in March 1970 and it still stands the test of time. This is a “must have” in your music library. I always told my parents that I was born too late because I wish I could have been in my late teenage years when all this great music was at its height. I’m always drilling my father on why he was stuck in the 1950’s with the “doo wop” music. He was 26 in 1969 and could have gone to Woodstock and rode the wave of all the great music in the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s. Oh well I digress… Now I have read that this album is “overrated” by the non-baby boomer generation and my response is that is “crazy talk” (sorry Monica I had to use your term). This is a very special album; you all need to run out and purchase it- if you don’t have it. If you do, listen to it again and feel the greatness.

Today is Dion’s birthday. He turns 69. His biggest hit “Runaround Sue” was number 1 for two weeks in 1961.

Birthday wishes today also for Martha Reeves. She was born in Alabama in 1941. Her band had six top ten songs.

Back on this day in 1977 Barry Manilow had the number 1 hit with “Looks Like We Made It.” And on this day in 1988, Richard Marx had the number one hit with “Hold On to The Night.”

I had heard from a friend that this movie was crazy. Actually on the day I almost first watched it, they had watched it twice and I didn't want to have to make them see it a third time. A year later I remembered all of this and sat down with it.

I was excited about the whole idea. I love the idea of forgetting things and memory flicks that really mess with your mind. Deja Vu started out looking like that could happen. The set up of the events that we would be looking at again was big and dramatic. That is fine, but I'm not really a huge fan of big special effects when a smaller shot could be used. About half way through the film we get presented with the whole past/present thing and clues start lining up. Denzel Washington's character found his own fingerprints in a place he was for the first time, messages seemed to hidden everywhere and I was ready for some huge plot twists. Instead what we got was a car chase across two dimensions. I'm not even messing with you. One car was in the present driving down roads with a screen that showed this other dimension of the past in which the second car was driving. Maybe that sounds really cool, but it wasn't.

Finally two hours in we get to the ending. I still have hope there will be some crazy loop hole that will tie everything together and make us think woa! Nope. Cop out Hollywood ending. Everyone good is happy, everyone bad is dead, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever even according to the flawed science presented by the characters. The end.

Last week it was like "Déjà vu" - On Friday July 11th 2008, after an aborted landing on another runway, Delta Airlines' flight 123 (Boeing 767 flying from Shannon Ireland) crossed flight path of a Comair's flight 1520 (Bombardier CRJ900) that was taking off. The airplanes came within 600 feet of each other vertically and half-mile horizontally. These distances are very small especially with respect to the typical airplane landing and take off speeds of 185+ miles per hour.

As a result - "The FAA moved quickly to change takeoff and landing procedures at JFK on
perpendicular runways — the kind of runways involved in both incidents."

From Associated Press -

"Barrett Byrnes, who president of the controllers union at the JFK
tower, said controllers have long sought the procedure changes.

"The
FAA put out an order to JFK to no longer use that approach. That's
exactly what we wanted to happen," Byrnes said. "We've been trying to
change that for the last 12, 13 years. It's been an accident waiting to
happen.""

Lately I've been more than aware of my own sorry situation(s). I know in my head that what I am doing is completely wrong (or at least very wrong), but I still do the same (stupid) mistake over and over again. Finally, I'm partly at a turning point, and I've already resisted a couple of old "traps". I have thereby prevented series of already experienced miseries.

It's like I'm having déja-vu
There are a couple of things in life that will remotely feel like series of déja-vus. I'm talking about when you get into an argument with your sister (yes, you can feel the tension rising between you as you speak). I'm talking about that good friend of yours who you keep on inviting with you on your vacations but always ends up unsatisfied of the trip. I'm talking about that boy you never really let go of even though he has constantly let you down. You promised yourself you wouldn't go there again, and there you are - back on track - provoking your sister, idealizing friendships and old relationships. It all feels as though your life is being driven on an auto pilot.

The fear of letting go, the fear of losing and forgetting often enters my mind. While talking to my friend on the phone (I haven't seen her for months now) I tend to look back in time (way back...) and think of everything good we did together. It is as if we both keep on saying: "remember that time..." and interrupt each other with funny stories from the past. And so we both laugh until our stomachs start hurting and tears run down our smiling faces. Moments of weakness. When the laughter cools down, I love my friend more than ever and I ask her if she's doing anything this summer; "it's been ages since we took a trip together. Ages!” And there I am, hanging on to my memories shared with a friend, like they are everything that count in our current relationship.

Being dumped is hard. If you have lived long enough to experience a juicy brake-up, you already know the deal. You spend hours questioning, healing and after a long while - accepting the situation you are faced with. Your sadness becomes an obsession, a little pinch in your gut every time your mind wanders back in time and remembers the ended romance. His name becomes a constant reminder of his existence, and seems to emerge everywhere you go like in magazine ads, on the side of a bus or in the mouth of somebody you know. Sometimes, the very same guy will even enter your life on a later occasion. You know what you should do; leave and let go. But being human most of the time means you are "only human". The only way of letting go, can sometimes only be done by repeating mistakes and taking the hard way back. By that (of course) I mean being dumped once again and relive the pain you have already experienced.

Once you get over a break-up for the second time, it's time to move on. Maybe you won't even understand why you bothered to waste time on "a man like him". But not so fast. The reason why you "wasted time" on "that man" is only a result of true feelings that you have had for another human being, and that you should not neglect. Even if those very same feelings seem distant and unreal for you in a present moment, it can be easier to accept a failed relationship if you try to look at it from the point of view that you had while the relationship was still alive.

So why "same old, same old"?
To me it's all about developing a certain immunity to disappointments. It's perhaps easier to be let down by a person for the second (of third...) time than it is to experience the first argument, the first brake-up or the first real betrayal. The second time you can already tell what you will have to go through in order to deal with your situation. In sum, these incidents shape you - make you more sceptical perhaps, but also stronger because you are one step away from being as let down by a similar experience.

So for me, it's not even about "not learning". You always learn, to certain degree and in a different way each time. I feel the reason you sometimes allow yourself to be put in a situation where you might up getting hurt, has to do with the simple fact that we care a great deal about people around us. Really loving to me, is embracing all the aspects of a complex person and still loving him or her for his or her qualities and weaker sides.

Learning will come in time, and it can mean accepting and embracing or it can some times mean letting go. Feeling that you yourself never learn is the same thing as saying to yourself "I'm not letting go just yet". Learn in your own way no matter how long it takes. Live for yourself. You will know when the time is right for you to move on or stay put.

You don't always have to be so rational.

Wouldn't it be cool to take a vacation in a different planet? With the discovery of super-Earths the idea does not seem impossible any more. How about a parallel life? What really is déjà vu? Is it only a familiar experience or parallel lives colliding? If so, wouldn't it be neat to know what life I'm leading there? More importantly, what happens to that life when life in this dimension ends? Do I know the same people there?

An artist's impression of super-earths

Maybe some day we will have answers to these questions. Or, perhaps, it's meant to remain a mystery.

Déjà vu or not, ones cooking is not edible when life on this dimension feels blue, as I found out this evening. To simplify life in this dimension, I deactivated a few online accounts. I wonder if I've a blog in my parallel life. What would my experiences be in that twilight zone? Ideal would be if that life was a little slower. I would then be in a position to perfect it knowing what I lack here. Wishful thinking.

Déjà vu or overlap?
