Woohoo, series 6 is going to start soon and by the look of it, it seems to be a brilliant series. I will keep you informed when we can expect to see this series on channel 5 (yes I know some of you may have seen it on Sky or cable or whatever you have) but for some of us we don't have it, and have to wait till it is on "normal" tv. But I can't wait, after CSI: New York finished and CSI: Las Vegas. If any of these series stopped, I don't know where I would be lol.

The emmy nominations were announced. I know this only because I watched David Letteman, who bragged

The emmy nominations were announced. I know this only because I watched David Letteman, who bragged on for fifteen minutes about how he got five. See, I find this an intresting topic because it's unorthadox for this blog. People who read this tend to think I am just a freak who writes on and on about the government, 9/11 and society. But even truthers and conspiracy theorists have lives. I do watch David Letterman, and Craig Ferguson for that matter. I go grocery shopping, sleep, brush my teeth, ect. My point is, blogs and websites leave people with an impersonal realationship with the writer. It's just something I've been thinking about lately. And I also feel latley, that I should be writing less professionally. My thoughts can wonder as they have done now.

Not everything has to be a structured paragraph. It is really is too tiring to do so.

So back to the emmys: I have found that the elite are benefiting from basic programing. The emmys are a good example because it is essentially a pointless award show that thousands or maybe millions tune into. Just like sports, (although I participate in this, "distraction" as well), and basic shows on every night. Take, for example, CSI. Everyone is freaking out in the blogosphere, because Gill Grissom is leaving the show. That in itself is a distraction. But on a bigger picture the show can be used to simply get people accustomed to police brutality, and law enforcement braking the law to manipulate the system, which we have seen more of in the real world. Shows like CSI, numb3rs, flashpoint, whatever your preference, always have a character who beats up the criminal when interrogating, or doesn't have a warrant. Just keep a look out.

State police say they have solved a mysterious eastern New Mexico shooting death that was similar to a shooting depicted in a 2003 "CSI" episode. In both cases a revolver was found tied to balloons in an apparent effort to make the weapon float away.

Authorities determined that Thomas Hickman committed suicide after an investigation that included a detective renting a copy of the episode...

At first, investigators suspected homicide when Hickman, 55, of North Richland Hills, Texas, was found dead March 15 along U.S. 84 southeast of Santa Rosa, his mouth covered by duct tape...

"There were similarities in the episode, where a character did tie helium balloons to a gun and hoped it would float away," Anglada said.

Medical investigators ruled the death a suicide, Anglada said, and additional evidence led detectives to conclude the scene had been intended to look like a homicide.

They also found he held a life insurance policy that would pay his wife $388,000 or double that amount if his death was accidental.

Of course, trying to commit suicide and make it look like a murder - you don't get many chances to practice.

[caption id="attachment_192" align="alignright" width="200" caption="Inglorious Bastards"][/caption]

Variety is reporting that director Quentin Tarantino will meet with actor Leonardo DiCaprio this week about co-starring in his WW2 extravaganza INGLORIOUS BASTARDS. Tarantino reportedly has already been in talks with Brad Pit about taking on the film’s lead role. According to the Ain’t It Cool news site, DiCaprio would play the part of Hans Landa, described as a Jew hunting Nazi. After reading some of the script, which has been posted online, I have no doubt this will be one over the top, big budget, wild ride of a movie. If Pitt and DiCaprio do get signed, it will be interesting to see what other acting talent the director draws to the project!

[caption id="attachment_193" align="alignleft" width="180" caption="Nip Tuck"][/caption]

According to eonline cable network, FX announced that its popular plastic surgery drama NIP TUCK will end its run in 2011 after 100 episodes. 19 episodes will air for this upcoming season and 22 episodes will air the following year. In my opinion Nip Tuck has been a great guilty pleasure. A highly entertaining, funny and sometimes shocking, adult program featuring two great characters ( Dr’s McNamara and Troy played wonderfully by Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon). The shows 5th season begins in January.

The network also announced that actor Michael J. Fox will do a guest stint on the same network’s highly acclaimed Denis Leary fire fighter show, RESCUE ME. Fox will play the wheel-chair bound boyfriend of Tommy’s (Leary) estranged wife (Andrea Roth). Rescue Me returns in March 2009. Like Nip Tuck, Rescue Me is one of TV’s very best programs.

EW reported that actor William Peterson will be leaving his hit CBS show, CSI, at mid-season this upcoming year as the actor wants to move on to do other things. Peterson will remain as an executive producer and might make an appearance here and there on the show if asked to do so. Peterson has played the part of crime scene investigator Gil Grissom since the show began.

Going the daytime route I must say that ABC’s, The View, isn’t the water cooler talking point item that it used to be when Rosie O’Donnell sat in the moderator’s chair. While Whoopi Goldberg is an adequate replacement she lacks the wildly opinionated style of O’Donnell who was a special effect during her rein on the daytime gab fest. Yes, she was over the top wacky, but she was must see day time TV. Without Rosie, watching the always annoying Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the View is like viewing a Batman movie with the Joker but no Batman to battle against him. In its current form The View is a steak without much sizzle! I still watch it but I must say I Love that Rosie!

William Peterson the actor who plays the iconic character, Gil Grissom is leaving the longtime hit

William Peterson the actor who plays the iconic character, Gil Grissom is leaving the longtime hit TV show "CSI". He had played in the show since it's debut episode way back in the year 2000 when the show first started. The show is still going strong for 8 seasons. Peterson says he wants to move on to try other things in his acting career. This isn't the first time that CSI lost cast members, not too long ago, the show lost Gary Dourdan and Jorja Fox. Peterson will still work for the show, however, he won't act much, he'll remain as executive producer. He'll only appear in a few episodes occasionally.

More on it here:

http://tv.yahoo.com/csi-crime-scene-investigation/show/461/news/urn:newsml:tv.eonline.com:20080715:a5ac24bc_efba438f_a2b3_5433d8b5214e

My thoughts?

Simply put, good for him! He's an excellent actor. It's about time for him to move on and hopefully do some hollywood movies in leading roles. Maybe that's why he wants to leave, he wants to get movie roles. I hope he does play a leading role in a film sometime down the road.

WILLIAM PETERSEN

Veteran actor William Petersen, whose character, Gil Grissom, was the backbone of the CSI tv series, is quitting the popular show. And, as at least one article explained, this is not the "I'm-off-10-weeks-to-do-a-play" gone that Petersen has pulled in the past. Petersen will leave the show after this season's 10th episode.

Petersen's departure seems to be a combination of boredom on his part (he's been playing Gil Grissom for eight years) and cheapness on the part of CBS (unwilling to pay their franchise player franchise money.)

Due to the ongoing RTC inventory, my court appearances for the last two weeks have been kept to a minimum. As a result, I have had more time in the office to catch-up on my pleading work, to organize my files, and to surf the internet more than usual. Today was no exception. Right now, there are about a gazillion juvenile trivialities that are running through my head.

I can't wait for High School Musical 3. My kids and I bond over HSM DVDs. At three years old, Chelsea practically knows the lyrics to Gabriella and Sharpey's songs--right down to "Everybody quieeeet!" HSM3, due in October 2008, will add to our bedtime repertoire. Zac Efron is cute too! Too bad he's a tad too old to become my son-in-law. And even if I was a cougar, he'd still be too young for me!

Gossip Girl books. While waiting for the new season of Gossip Girl, I've been reading up on Cecily von Ziegesar's Gossip Girl novels. For those who belong to my generation, Gossip Girl books are the equivalent of Sweet Valley High and later, SVU. The TV series doesn't follow the books, though, but is more of the Beverly Hills 90210 sort: partner-swapping, brand name-dropping, and all.

Safari and Firefox. A few months back, I converted to Mozilla Firefox when I discovered surfthechannel.com. (The website allowed me to preview TV shows before their airdates on local TV.) Firefox is faster and has fewer pop-ups. Recently, I've also been using Apple Safari for its neater interface. Like Firefox, it does a better job in blocking pop-ups than Microsoft Internet Explorer. Although both Safari and Firefox take slightly longer than IE to initially load, downloading is faster once they're up and running. There's no way that I'm reverting to IE anytime soon.

Wade's World. My 19-month old son, Wade, is rivaling his sister in degree of chattiness. Tonight, he said "grasshopper" perfectly, when he pointed to the picture in one of his books! He sings to Shrek and wants to be an ogre. He's not two yet, but we're trying to move up his toilet training if for no other reason than he's already outgrowing his XXL nappies/pull-ups. Any bigger, and he'll be using adult diapers. :) This morning, he was standing up in the bathroom trying to go no.1, and he ended up going no.2 instead. See, this is why we have nannies...

Weight watching in Hollywood. Eva Longoria, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Love Hewitt... how dare they tip the scales at 120 instead of 100lbs! Result: more revenue for the tabloids and paparazzi. Don't they get it? I'd still rather have any of these women's bods over mine.

Out of Avamigran. To migraine sufferers like me, this pill isn't just a pain-reliever. It's a lifesaver. Now why has it been out stock for the past month? I need an explanation as to why I have to go back to NSAIDS (and to vomiting) to be relieved of my pain, stat!

Bye CSI. When spin-off CSI Miami started, Horatio Caine was not a real threat to Grissom dominance, simply because the flavor and ambience of the two shows were distinctly different. The demise of CSI started with the advent of CSI NY, whose ex-marine Mac Taylor presented a more interesting character than the Grissom of post Sara Sidle. But Gil Grissom leaving CSI? Now that, in itself, is a crime.

Wanted. Of course, my husband wanted to watch this movie for Angelina Jolie, who looked totally anorexic in this flick. With a speaking part of about 50 words, she nonetheless exuded a powerful presence, which explained the camera frequently panning to her even in scenes where her only participation was to watch James McAvoy get beaten up. Between her and Brad Pitt being the man of the Brangelina household? No contest there.

Now let's get back to our lives, shall we?
