U.S. is deliberately creating opportunities for terrorism inside Pakistan. The objective is to create a situation where a U.S. political and military intervention in Pakistan becomes inevitable. Segments of the Pakistani ‘leadership’ are part of this agenda, since it cannot be completed without inside help. Pakistani Pashtuns, the most loyal citizens of Pakistan, are being turned into rebels. If the present trend continues, we may eventually confront a civil war across the country. This is exactly the situation the U.S. is seeking so that it can intervene and establish a puppet regime in Islamabad. Is anyone In Islamabad or Rawalpindi paying attention?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—The big picture for Pakistan should be more visible now in terms of what the U.S. agenda is for this country. But that agenda has been carefully operationalized since the opportunity presented itself to the U.S. in the form of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 – in which, by the way, no Pakistani was involved. Some of us have been highlighting that agenda for some years since, and also pointing out how complicity of our leadership was a requirement for that agenda to continue moving ahead. And what is that agenda?

Clearly, it involves the U.S. creating space within the tribal areas to move in militarily and eventually restructure the whole Muslim nuclear entity of Pakistan. Attacking civilians and thereby creating chaos and panic which would inevitably lead to a mass displacement and add to the pressure on the central government in Islamabad. Also, knowing full well – after all if we can conclude that such killings will create more space for extremists and terrorists, one can assume the U.S. analysts and advisers must have done the same – that by unleashing a war against our tribals and abusing our sovereignty they will create more space for the terrorists; and thereby more reasons to further destabilize us from outside while we face increasing attacks from our home-grown terrorists. Let us not fool ourselves – the U.S. is no friend but a powerful enemy and its ultimate aim is to defang us in terms of our nuclear assets. Already the statements have become more honed in terms of our nuclear assets – both directly, in terms of a bizarre fear that our nukes will fall into "terrorist" hands even though it is the U.S. that seems to have a problem of loose nukes (remember the U.S. planes flying with such weapons only last year?); and, indirectly, by having their politicians and some international agencies build up a crescendo of Pakistan being the most dangerous country in the world and a new "war zone".

That was the first phase of the plan for Pakistan. As the U.S. war on terror has unfolded in our part of the world, we have suddenly seen the emergence of a Tehrik-i-Taliban, Pakistan and countless other militant groups – some of whom were raised and funded by the CIA in earlier years and may well have sustained that linkage. The most aggressively loyal Pakistanis of the tribal belt have now been turned into challengers of the writ of the Pakistani state. Is it not worth understanding why and how? We are being forced into accepting the U.S. war now as "our war" although in reality while we are facing a severe threat from extremists and home grown terrorists, our fight against these forces has to be different from the U.S. war on terror. That is still not our war but is in fact fuelling and aggravating our terrorist problems.

Now the U.S. has moved to phase two where it is actually seeking direct intervention on the ground before it finally puts international pressure on us to hand over our nuclear assets – showing the world how Pakistan has indeed become a "war zone" in which the international community must intervene to take charge of the nuclear assets. Of course, the U.S. would then offer to head such a mission. Seems far fetched? Then recheck what has been happening in terms of U.S. policy vis a vis Pakistan since 9/11 and the statements emanating from the U.S. at the official and media levels.

As for us Pakistanis, we are being confronted with a two-front war: against a qualitatively new terrorist threat in terms of suicide bombings and the growth of a violent extremism; and, against an indirect war being conducted by the U.S. against our long term survival as an independent nuclear state. But, as I stated at the beginning, none of the U.S. agenda would be feasible without the support of the Pakistani rulers. Unfortunately this support has been there from the start but now it has reached new proportions.

During the Musharraf government we were given many briefings to the effect that the U.S. and NATO/ISAF could only intrude aerially into our space with our permission. As a perturbed pilot informed me the other day, he was shocked to learnt that apart from the UAVs flying into Pakistani air space, NATO and ISAF aircraft are flying round the clock tactical missions in Pakistan. Apparently, they have been cleared by our controllers' to fly tactical in FATA, "Pukhtunkhwa" and Balochistan. The Musharraf government had also given unprecedented access to the U.S. in terms of bases and intelligence. But our democratic leadership has gone even further in affecting unilateral compromises, including it now appears permission to hit and kill our own people, which impact our very survival as an independent nuclear entity.

Regardless of how our own Goebbels tries to explain away the Zardari interview to the Wall Street Journal, the quotes speak for themselves and nor has a correction been sought or offered on either side. First there is the absurd style of reference President Zardari uses when talking of Pakistan and its institutions as his personal fiefdom, "my F-16s", "my security personnel" (that is the military) "my war" and so on. And of course he wants the world to "give me" $ 100 billion!

More damaging though is his declaration that not only is he "an American friend" but that the U.S. is carrying out Predator missile strikes on Pakistani soil with his government's consent. His logic for insisting the U.S. support his government also undermines Pakistan because he seeks to show that if he falls our nukes will fall into terrorist hands. Is this how he protects our national interests? Now if his wish of accessing our strategic institutions with his cronies and the like is fulfilled, we may as well hand over all our assets to the U.S. – and now, by default, given the Indo-U.S. strategic partnership, to India.

But then, they say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and it seems our president has no understanding of our history since he declares grandly, "India has never been a threat to Pakistan". Please, Ms Rehman, at least teach him some basic history and you do not have to use Pakistani sources either! As for his comment on the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal – which even more rational U.S. analysts have decried as a factor in upping the nuclear arms' levels in South Asia, our ignorant President sees it merely as the "largest democracy" in the world "getting friendly" with the "oldest democracy" in the world!

In fact, he sees his own country simply as a backyard to serve Indian development. As for the poor Kashmiris, they have been labeled "terrorists" for seeking liberation from Indian occupation! To our shame, a Pakistani ruler's effigy was burnt for the first time since 1979, in Baramulla town in Occupied Kashmir with 400 Kashmiris defying curfew to express their anger at the Zardari labeling of the Kashmiri freedom fighters as "terrorists". So far, Zardari has certainly been good news only for the U.S. and India!

If Musharraf was forced to compromise with the U.S. – although now his compromises appear miniscule when compared to what the present government is giving to the U.S. – to ostensibly sustain himself in power then what is our present leadership so worried about in terms of the U.S.? Are there still some dangerous skeletons despite the NRO that the U.S. can utilize to keep the democratic dispensation in line with its eventual goal of ending the nuclear Pakistani state as we know it?

If the present trends continue we may well eventually confront a civil war across the country. This is exactly the situation the U.S. is seeking to come in fully and set up its own quisling set up. As we and the U.S. know, there have always been many in our leadership only too willing to play that role. As for the present leaders, their embarking on the road to power may well have been prepared in Washington, but it is Pakistan's realities that will ensure their stay in or removal from power. Can they manage to get out of the U.S. embrace to see their own realities?

E o que isso quer dizer exatamente?

Sinceramente? Não sei!

Na terça-feira, enquanto voltava pra casa, fiquei pensando um pouco sobre esse "enloucrescer" e o que realmente seria isso, o que isso significa para mim... E acho que é + - isso que está acontecendo comigo, estou enlouquencendo e crescendo ao mesmo tempo, isso é, se for possível fazer uma coisa separada da outra. Pensado agora aqui, não sei se dá pra crescer sem enlouquecer um pouco, enlouquecer de uma certa forma faz bem, enlouquecer faz crescer. Afinal de contas, quando passamos do mundo de criança, do mundo das fantasias, do mundo dos sonhos e do mundo onde tudo é perfeito e do jeito que nós gostaríamos que fosse, para o mundo dos adultos para o mundo "real", onde nós TEMOS que crescer, não temos opção, somo obrigados a ver, fazer e conviver com coisas que antes nos eram totalmente alheias... E se nesse momento não tivermos crescido o suficiente, aí sim... enlouquecemos.

Acho que estou passado por essa fase, difícil, dolorida e cruel, mas também acredito que essa fase vai passar afinal de contas "A felicidade é o intervalo da tristeza", ou o jeito correto de escrever esta frase seria assim: "A tristeza é o intervalo da felicidade"?!?

A única coisa que realmente me assusta e me dá medo é que durante esse processo eu me torne uma pessoa dura, fria, amarga e que não acredita mais no amor... Mas isso é assunto para um outro post, quando for a hora certa, quando for o momento certo, quando eu estiver preparado certamente ele virá.

I guess from the start?

I had a planned update for 'What lies Unborn' for today, unfortunately this isn't going to happen for multiple reasons.

First of all, there were some changes in my work schedule today. The good news is that I'm going to actually work less hours, thus giving me more free time to write, the bad news are that until my program fully adapt to this new schedule I'm kinda in the dark regarding when I will have free time to write in the middle of the week (weekends are free so there is no problem there).

Secondly, I got a really bad review for this place and for What Lies unborn. It didn't piss me off, on the contrary it made me think. This story has started as an experiment from me, I guess this is obvious from the way it is actually written. I really liked the story and where it was going, but from the lack of responses and the bad review I guess it's not as 'nice' as I thought. So, instead of focusing solely on this story I have decided to start again 'Crescendo'.

But the reason is not only so that I would have something else except What lies Unborn. Crescendo is a 'normal' fantasy story, no experimentation, no weird tenses, no weird format. I want to believe that I improve as I write, so this will give me an opportunity to strengthen my writing enough to succeed at what I tried to achieve in 'What lies Unborn' at the first place.

On to other matters. There was a massive wipe here. 'Without a word' got deleted and so did the 'removed' stories. The first one was due to the quality. It was severely lacking, it was a short story of ~1000 words that didn't manage to communicate what it was about. The 'removed' stories got the boot because they had to. I've decided to let in this blog only the short stories that I really think that are good so as not to blemish the general appearance of this place.

If you noticed above, I said short stories. Yes, serials and longer novels are cumbersome with pages. I was told that after I had almost half their chapters in pages already. When I started this blog I knew nothing of blogging, I knew nothing of rss, I knew nothing of accessibility, and the main reason I wrote what I wrote was just for the act of it, never expecting traffic. Now that I know that posts are better, I thought about trying that. In order to have each story in a more 'suitable' background, I decided to start each one of them in separate blogs. The truth is that I was already doing that for 'What lies unborn' and I was pleased with the outcome. So, now that I start anew Crescendo I decided to do so again.

What was really tiring though was the editing of 3 blogs, 1 for the pages here, 1 for the blog itself, 1 for my backup. So to avoid that, and to avoid duplicate material, I'm removing the pages from here.

Now that I remembered... Crescendo is no longer called as such, but 'Soul of Charoden'

If you had been to the main crescendo page those last three days you you have seen a warning by me. It was speaking of grammar errors and slight typos that irritated me and I wanted to have them removed. Today I fixed the first 3 chapters and they are in their new address. Tomorrow, if I find the time I will add the next two chapters, and after that I will update normally. You may wonder why I've split the chapters into parts. I want to see if I can manage 3 updates per week if I make them somewhat smaller. We'll see how this will work on time.

I'm sure there is something tht I'm forgetting here... but I guess that if I remember it on time, I can just edit.

• Gefeiert wurde ein dritter Geburtstag.
• Es gab drei verkleidete Kinderanimateure.
• Ein kleines Bällebad plus zwei Zelte verbunden mit einem Tunnel.
• Hinten links in der Ecke einen Whirlpool, wo man zwischendurch Kinder von einsammelte. Erstaunlicher Weise ist niemand wirklich nass geworden. ;-)
• Gefeiert wurde im Übrigen in einer großen Halle im Erholungsbereich eines großen und sehr guten Hochhaus-Condomíniums. (Darunter kann man sich einen hoch umzäunten/ummauerten Block mit mindestens einem Hochhaus drauf, je nach Lage und "Güte" mit kleinem Garten und Pool sowie Kinderspielplatz drinnen vorstellen.)
• Es wurde ein Puppentheater (Die drei kleinen Schweine und der Wolf) aufgeführt.
• Der kleine Mann versteht ja nicht alles auf portugiesisch, so hat er immer profilaktisch jedes Wort, das er kennt, nachgerufen, was sehr amüsant war.
• Überhaupt war für uns Eltern (der große Mann konnte auch mit) noch viel spannender als das Stück, die Reaktionen und Interaktionen des kleinen Mannes zu beobachten. Wirkt er sonst bei Begrüßungen immer sehr schüchtern, so hat er dort vorgestern wirklich sehr aufgedreht und sich mit den anderen Kindern pudelwohl gefühlt. Außerdem weiß er schon ganz genau, dass die Animateure zur Animation der Kinder da sind und wendete sich ohne Berührungsängste bei allem möglichen (zum Beispiel Schuhe zubinden, auf dem Schoß das Stück zu verfolgen usw.) direkt an diese.
• Ernährt hat er sich nur von Brigadeiros. (Und dann auch das Abendbrot verschmäht.)
• Gefeiert wurde von 16-19 Uhr.
• Nach dem Puppentheater gab es eine Kleinkinderdisko mit Lichtanlage und _Schaum_. (Aus einer Sprühdose in die Hände der Kinder und zu bestimmten Sequenzen wurde in die Hände geklatscht, dass der Schaum nur so stob.)
• Eine Mordsgaudi das.
• Nach der Feier war nicht nur das Kind dieser Familie, sondern auch wir erst einmal platt.
• Da die Feier in der Woche und tagsüber stattfand, waren nicht unerheblich viele Kindermädchen mit Kindern zur Feier erschienen an Stelle der Eltern. Die Kindermädchen waren natürlich in weiß gekleidet. Irgendwie sah das für deutsche Augen ... komisch ... aus.
• Aber zum Abholen trudelten dann doch einige Eltern noch ein. (In der Regel arbeiten auch beide Eltern ganztags.)
• Es feierte übrigens eine Deutsche, deren Sohn aber in einen brasilianischen Kindergarten geht. Da ist es so üblich, dass man alle Kinder der Gruppe zum Geburtstag einlädt. Macht man das nicht, ist man unten durch.
• Die bisherigen Geburtstage dieses Kindergartens waren immer in Buffets gefeiert worden und somit war der vorgestrige in der Halle des Erholungsbereichs des Condomíniums der "häuslichste".
• Auf einem der Buffet-Geburtstage soll es eine Pudel-Show gegeben haben, so mit durch Reifen springenden und tanzenden kleinen Hunden.
• Schön war die Feier und für uns ein weiterer von mindestens 1000 kleinen Abschieden in diesen Tagen.

Kann man ein Kind mit 2 einviertel Jahren allein mit einem Babyfon in einem Hotelzimmer schlafen lassen? (Unser Fall)

Kann man ein Kind mit 2 einhalb Jahren mal für 5 Minuten allein lassen, wenn man nur eben zur Post "nebenan" springt?

Kann ein Vierjähriger schon bei seinem Freund alleine übernachten?

Und ab wann kann ein Kind schon allein den Schulweg gehen?

Für alle diese Fälle gäbe es eine brasilianische Antwort: Nein.

Allerdings mit unterschiedlich schrillem Tonfall.

Da wäre in unserem Fall, das dezente drauf hinweisen und sich sogar ein wenig drüber lustig machen, dass Brasilianer so etwas nicht machen würden. Denn man kann ja schließlich einen Menschen, ein Kindermädchen damit beauftragen. In gehobenen Hotels gibt es diesen Service, den man tatsächlich mit im Vergleich zu Europa/Deutschland sehr wenig Geld zu bezahlen hat (ca. 10 R.S die Stunde, was mit Stand von heute so um die 3,80€ sind).

Der Ton des Neins würde schrille Höhen erreichen, wenn es darum ginge, ein 2 einhalb jähriges Kind mal kurz allein zu Hause zu lassen und nicht weniger schrill ausfallen, wenn es darum ginge, ein Kind mit 7-8 Jahren alleine zur Schule laufen zu lassen. Aber auch in ersterem Fall ist es hier unverhältnismäßig leicht und günstig, das anders zu organisieren. So käme ich hier auch nie auf die Idee, weil ich doch tagsüber oft F., unsere empregada, eine Haushälterin, Daheim habe, die sowieso hier ist. Ansonsten könnte man ein Kindermädchen engagieren. Und die Kinder werden auf Grund der anderen Sicherheitslage, aber durchaus auch vor allem wegen der Entfernung zur Schule mit dem Auto dorthin gefahren. Hier ist es üblich, dass die Kinder in Privatschulen gehen. Das öffentliche Schulsystem von Brasilien ist halt in seiner Qualität nicht mit dem bei uns in Deutschland vergleichbar. Und nicht in allen Fällen konnte man sich seinen Wohnort vorher schon strategisch für die späteren Schulbedürfnisse der Kinder und den eigenen Arbeitsplatz aussuchen. Oft kommt es dann auch vor, dass die Kinder von Fahrern gebracht und abgeholt werden, weil man selber eben ins Büro fahren muss, was nicht unbedingt in der gleichen Richtung liegt.

Das gnädigste Nein würde es wohl geben, wenn es darum ginge, ob der 4 Jährige schon bei seinem Freund übernachten dürfte/könnte, da Kinder in diesem Alter durchaus und schon lange vorher allein mal bei den Großeltern oder/und anderen engen Familienmitgliedern übernachten. Bei Freunden ist dies allerdings in dem Alter noch unüblich, beginnt aber mit Schulbeginn durchaus.

Die Schilderung der Situation hier in Brasilien bezieht sich auf die Verhältnisse in Sao Paulo für eine Familie ab der Mittelschicht aufwärts.

Ich habe kurzfristig die größere Tochter meiner Freundin, mit der ich mich gestern auf dem Spiellpatz getroffen hatte, dazu bekommen, weil sie selber spontan zur Wurzelkanal-Behandlung musste, natürlich aber die kleine Still-Tochter mitgenommen hat.

Wie die Mama von der Pampersfront die Tage schon annahm, habe ich glatt auch das Gefühl, dass zwei von der Sorte anscheinend weniger anstrengend sind als nur einer.

Zumindest musste ich den gesamten Nachmittag kaum als Entertainerin auftreten, eins der Kinder hatte immer irgendeine Idee. Außerdem sind sie die allermeiste Zeit zusammen mit ihren Bobbycars durch den Garten gedüst. Haben einträchtig nebeneinander vor imaginären roten Ampeln gewartet und sind mit den kleinen Wägelchen mal eben nach Deutschland die Großeltern besuchen gefahren. Mit mir alleine Daheim wäre der kleine Mann immer mal wieder maximal zwei Minuten am Stück mit dem Bobbycar durch die Gegend gefahren, bis es ihm zu langweilig geworden wäre...

So konnte ich doch einige Zeit gemütlich auf einem Stuhl daneben und mit einem Becher Milchkaffee in der Hand sitzen und den Zweien einfach nur beim Spielen zusehen. Das war wirklich mal einfacher als angenommen. Schön. :-)

(Mir ist schon klar, dass es auch an der Seltenheit der Situation lag, dass das so gut geklappt hat.)

Franz Liszt was definitely the 19th century equivilent of a thrash metal shredder: an "olden-day" Slayer. Especially with solo piano, his pieces are so dynamic and exciting. Markus Groh, who plays on the CD I've got, conveys it well, particulary with the loud sections, building up to a barrarge of crazy and dynamic sound (I believe it is called a crescendo) 

Famously, Franz Liszt's Hunagrian Rhapsody is used on a number of cartoons, such as in the film, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", which the first time, as a kid, I came across the piece (every one knows the tune, I'm sure). I even loved the song then.

Jetzt müssen wir unbedingt bald wieder in den Club Hípico, denn da steht auf dem Spielplatz ein wirklich großes Trampolin, auf dem der kleine Mann schon stundenlang gespielt hat. Also drin herum gedüst ist und sich von uns hüpfend "niederreißen" lassen. Mal sehen wie er es findet, wenn er nun selber drin hüpfen kann.

Und weil er immer noch davon überzeugt ist, das der Sommer kommen wird, gibt's von ihm wieder leckere House Tunes.

Seither regnet es nun immer mal wieder und ich kann noch nicht sagen, dass es uns stören würde. Im Gegenteil.

Bitte eine Nacht ohne stundenlange nur sekündlich voneinander getrennte Hustenattacken. Schon die letzte Nacht war ich am Rande der Verzweiflung, habe den großen Mann und über meine Verzweifung und/oder den Husten auch den kleinen Mann geweckt. Vom großen Mann bin ich ja jede Menge Empathie und Hilfe gewohnt, aber vom kleinen Mann so betüddelt zu werden, das war in der Form und Länge ein echtes Novum. Er durfte dann zu uns ins Bett und hat mir immer wieder seine beiden Händchen ums Gesicht gelegt, wollte sich auf mich legen und kuscheln (was natürlich eigentlich nicht sooo doll bei Hustenattacken ist) und hat mir schlussendlich die ganze Zeit Händchen gehalten.

Schlaf, mein ganzer Körper lechzt nach Schlaf.

Warum ich noch nicht versuche zu schlafen? (Uhrzeit fast 21h)

Ich habe Angst davor, dass ich nicht werde schlafen können, dass die Attacken wieder beginnen. Ich bin so ko, so müde, so angeschlagen, dass ich fast das Gefühl habe einfach umkippen zu können wenn ich stehe.

Heute bin ich schon voller Sicherheit in ein falsches Gebäude zum Arzt gefahren und hatte Glück, dass das richtige nur einen Block weiter und nicht in einem ganz anderen Stadtteil gelegen war. (Außerdem noch mit der falschen Karte in der Apotheke versucht zu bezahlen, einen Verschreiber auf einem Scheck gehabt und andere nette Müdigkeitsaussetzer.)

Ohne richtigen Schlaf bis morgen werde ich wahrscheinlich zum Zombie mutieren.
