Exodus 13:21
21And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

When the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, God led them by going before them in a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.

By day, God spread the pillar of cloud as a covering over His people in the desert to prevent the scorching sun from striking them down. The people were shaded and kept cool. Today, you are also under His covering. He will not allow you to be struck down (Psalm 121:3–8), nor be oppressed by the “heat” of the day. (Isaiah 54:14)

At night, when the desert became dark and cold, God gave His people the pillar of fire to light the way for them, as well as keep them warm and safe. Today, as you walk with God, you will not be overwhelmed by the cold, dark places in life because God’s Word says, “You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.” (1 Thessalonians 5:5) You will not fear the terror by night or the pestilence that walks in darkness because God will deliver you from them all. (Psalm 91:5–6)

Like the children of Israel, who only needed to look up, and keep their eyes on the cloud and the fire, all you need to do today is look up and keep your eyes on Jesus. When you need His direction for a situation, look to Jesus who has the words of eternal life. (John 6:68) When you see symptoms of sickness in your body, look to Jesus who has borne away every disease and physical affliction. (Matthew 8:17)

When the children of Israel were bitten by serpents in the desert, God told Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole — a picture of Christ judged on the cross. (John 3:14) Those who looked at the brazen serpent instead of their wounds were healed. (Numbers 21:9) He who looks to Jesus lives!

Beloved, look to Jesus. He is your covering, protection and deliverance! By Pastor Prince.

This is my "beach cover up" kaftan that I bought on sale a couple of days ago (that inspired me to do the kaftan post). I wear it almost like this, with silver bag and gladiators, except that everything I own is affordable and not Chanel and brand stuff... I would love this purse though... *DROOLING*

Choose some of those scarves, tie it in a cool, spanish hijab style, and you will look fab. A lot of "oriental" bling reccomended for this look :)

Description: Stock photo showing top portion or roof of Campbell s Covered Bridge located near Tigerville SC USA The wooden bridge was built in 1909 and is the last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina.

The structure is now closed to vehicle traffic but it is allowable to walk across the historic bridge.

Named for Alexander Lafayette Campbell who operated a grist mill at this location Another fact about the covered bridge is that it is an example of a four span Hown truss with timbers across and vertical iron rods.

This historic site is a part of the upstate SC mountains. Hidden from view, an overall nice place to visit.

Yep, these are the benefits of a car that is covered in a specially designed fabric. Don't expect this car to be out on showroom floors anytime soon, because it probably wont ever go into production. Think of this concept as BMW's way of saying... We OWN you!

The BMW GINA Light Visionary Model is an impressive vehicle. Everything is covered in a fabric. The lights open and close like eyelids, the hood opens and closes like shades and the headrests pop-up among tons of other features. It even has disappearing gauges. :)

Here is the 7 long video well worth watching:

Ok, I've got a sweet tooth so I adore chocolates. I also enjoy a juicy bacon once in a while, but chocolate covered bacon? I'm not so sure. candy shop in Santa Cruz called Marini's is selling chocolate covered bacon. Now I'm confused.

Apparently it is selling pretty well, according to the phone interview with them by SLOG.

Too far away from Santa Cruz but dying for some chocolate covered bacon? Hold no more! Here's the recipe.

I know it's been a while since you've gotten some good cover tunes so I tried to come up with a little something special. I know I have some 80's music fans out there (namely my wife) so I thought I'd share some of the better 80's covers out there (that I could find).

We'll go in chronological order...

1983:Girls Just Wanna Have Fun made popular by Cindy Lauper. Covered by Greg Laswell. (Live Fan Vid. - It's the best I could find)

1984: Against All Odds by Phil Collins. Covered by The Postal Service for the movie Wicker Park. Here's the video.

1985: Careless Whisper by George Michael (while with WHAM!) Covered by Ben Folds and Rufus Wainright. (poor video quality - please stick out to the end)

1986: Take My Breath Away by Berlin. Covered by Copeland (no, not Jessica Simpson).

Yesterday and Tuesday, that's for sure. And Monday as well. I guess it's my fault because I initiated them. But oh well. That's not the point. The point is what happened afterwards. Tuesday night I had an, um, episode, and it was great fun. I mean really, great fun! So, nothing super bad happened, I assure you, just the simple crying at whatever I can, in order to get it all out faster, and then the sitting in bed part, flipping out. Earlier, I had ripped up a magazine thing and let the ripped up shreds liter my bedroom floor. It's actually really cool looking. I took pictures of it-with my actual camera though. Anyway, I had the great idea to leave the papers on the floor. So I did. They're still there. Well, some of them. The rest of them have went to my new project-that I came up with on my own. I'm making a collage, on the wall, with all the riped up shreds. It actually looks really cool right now. Eventually, I want to get at least one whole wall covered, possibly the whole room, but since I'm going to be moving out not really soon, but soon, I don't wanna cover it ALL and then have to take it all down. I'm thinking about putting it all on newspaper paper first, and then putting it on the wall-easier to take down and move around, you know. But I haven't decided yet.
Well, that's my new thing, anyway.

Second new thing is that I'm an artist. Of course we all knew this already. But, seriously, I am an artist. I may not draw or paint or anything like that, but I do have an artistic ability and I like to use it when I can. Personally, I like it!

Third new thing is that I'm doing a new writing project like thing. Since it will take too long to explain the reason I came up with the idea, I'll just tell you that it's a word association thing-like, a word or phrase per sentence and see where it goes. Kind of cool actually. My goal is to have a WHOLE page covered. I got pretty far yesterday-about a third of the way covered. I couldn't get very far thought because I was working on it in a class here, and then a class there, and then my arm got sore, and so ya. =D

Campbell's Covered Bridge is the only remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. It is a well-preserved piece of Upcountry history and it's picturesque setting attracts tourists, history enthusiast and photographers alike.

Built in 1909, this solid and gabled structure bridges the narrow and lovely, meandering Beaverdam Creek. The bridge on Campbells Bridge Road is located in northern Greenville County, near Tigerville and Gowensville. The pine structure is 35 feet long and 12 feet wide and is an excellent example of a four-span Howe truss featuring diagonal timbers and vertical iron rode.
It was built by Charles Irwin Willis and named after Alexander Lafayette Campbell (1836-1920), the owner of a grist mill and 194 acres located near the bridge. The kudzu covered remains of the old grist mill are also located near the covered bridge.
The bridge has been restored twice since completion, most recently in 1990 and is closed to motor traffic.

Through Greer, SC go north on SR-14 (N Hwy 14). Turn left onto SR-414 (Hwy 414) and proceed 1.1 miles to Pleasant Hill Road. Turn left onto Pleasant Hill Road, Go another four-tenths of a mile and turn right onto Campbell Covered Bridge Road. A quarter mile down you will find South Carolina`s only remaining covered bridge. Directions to the bridge are well marked with brown guide signs.

I think the reason why this place has gained so much interest is because one of the graves is far from ordinary. I have been to this place a time or two and it is something interesting to see.

In Hope Hill Cemetery is the grave of a 5 year old girl, Dorothy Marie Harvey, who died in 1931. It is covered by a large doll house that is complete with real windows. Inside it are a few toys and some say you can sometimes see the little girl inside the house playing.

This picture was borrowed from GhostVillage.com:

The person who took the picture claims to be able to see the little girl through the window. All I see is the person's own reflection. Do you see anything different?

When I visited this cemetery I never saw or heard anything. It is still a great spot to visit because it's something you don't see everyday.

Next Up...

A cover of the song Let Go originally done by Frou Frou. Others may know the artist Imogen Heap who was working as part of the band Frou Frou at the time. This is yet another song gaining massive popularity after appearing on the Garden State soundtrack.

I got some great feedback last time for including the original so I'll do it again.

Let Go. The original. (It's the least cheesy vid. I could find - and at least you get the words.)

Let Go. The cover. Done by 2 guys from Boys Like Girls. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the band, but the 2 of them do a great job recreating this song with 2 acoustic guitars. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The new newspaper is crazy! It's covered all over in scribbles and drawings and everything is topsy-turvy! Gary the Gadget Guy (G) is answering questions instead of Aunt Arctic; there's a self destruct button which destroys the jokes page; a thing where it says you are the penguin of the week and an upside-down tips page! It's the craziest newspaper I've ever seen- all because of April Fool's Day! Click here to read it without logging onto Club Penguin.

We've visted some pretty good covers. However, not all covers are so good. This one? Not so good. But still a lot of fun to watch or at least funny to watch. Listen for the great keyboard work (it's like something out of Contra? Right?)

Here's These Guys covering The Final Countdown which was originally done by Swedish glam metal band Europe.

I promise I'll get you a better cover by the end of the week. This was just too good to resist.

Don't have much else to write about right now.

So enjoy another great cover. This one's a little older but still one of my all time favorites. Here is Travis covering ... Baby One More Time originally done by Britney Spears. Who knew this song could be so beautiful?
