Carine Roitfeld mag H&M und Zara

So steht es im Herbst/Winterkatalog von Cos (zu H&M gehörend) geschrieben. Murray Healy, der Modejournalist (Pop, Arena Homme Plus, i-D, Guardian), schreibt darin über seine Gesprächspartnerin Carine Roitfeld, Chefredakteurin der französischen Vogue: Immer, wenn sie ihre Mitarbeiterinnen fragt, woher sie das Shirt haben, antworten diese, dass es von H&M oder Zara sei. "Unsere Leser und die Leute, die mit mir arbeiten, kaufen viel in diesen Läden, " so Roitfeld weiter.

Bemerkenswert an diesen Äußerungen, finde ich, dass Roitfeld dem Anzeigenkunden H&M/Cos schmeichelt. Doch trägt sie selbst H&M, Cos oder Zara? Oder nur ihre schlecht bezahlten Mitarbeiter?

De zon laat het echt afweten deze zomer, dus kan je het mij kwalijk nemen dat ik al met mijn hoofd in de wintercollecties zit ? Ik dacht het niet. Ik wilde toch even deze prachtige beelden van COS met jullie delen, want het wordt volgens mij niet klassevoller en meer understated dan bij deze bijlijn van H&M. En dat dan ook nog eens voor vriendelijke prijzen… Ik kampeer alvast voor de deur tot de nieuwe collectie volledig binnen is!

This was an entry I wrote before I decided to go with another angle for this topic. Let me know what you think. Should I have entered it?

The Talk

“Dad?” a small voice piped up thoughtfully, still seemingly focused on the Famous Wizard cards laid out in front of him.

When nothing more was forthcoming, Julius lowered his newspaper and looked down at his young son. Well, he thought of him still as young, but he was getting older every day. He was now in his second year at Hogwarts and becoming an accomplished wizard who made his parents very proud. Now, however, he was obviously troubled about something.

“What is it?” Julius urged his son.

“Well, this last year…in Defense class….” There was another long pause as the boy remembered the lessons taught by a man he had feared yet respected…who may not have been who he’d thought at all, if rumors were true. A visible shiver wracked his frame as he remembered one lesson in particular.

“Yes, what about your Defense class? I thought you did well.” The owl with year end results hadn’t arrived yet, but Julius wasn’t expecting his Ravenclaw son to have had any problems.

“Oh, my grades were fine,” Aloysius dismissed. As if he could have failed a subject! The boy silently scoffed before returning to his question. “But…well, we learned about…the unforgivable curses,” he finished hurriedly in a whisper.

His father nodded his head. That could be disturbing. “Yes, those are some very nasty spells.”

The boy nodded and continued studying the cards before him, especially the smiling face of Albus Dumbledore. “Have you ever known anyone who…?”

Without the boy even finishing his question, Julius knew what he was asking. The older man easily pictured face after face lost in the first war with Voldemort, but especially two young couples with new babies, new parents who had frighteningly little time to enjoy their sons as he enjoyed his own.

“Yes, I knew many people who suffered from being on the wrong end of those spells.”

“Why would people cast such awful spells on other people?”

Julius took a deep breath. “That is a difficult question to answer, son.”

“Were they followers of…You-Know-Who?” Again, the boy’s voice dropped to a whisper.

“Most were,” Julius acknowledged. “One couple were driven to insanity by repeated use of the Crucio spell over a prolonged period. The poor couple will never be the same again, never be able to use their minds again. And such minds they had! It was a terrible loss for the side of good.”

“There are a lot of things being said about Harry Potter and his parents and…You-Know-Who.” Without asking, he was asking what his father knew.

Julius looked at the headline of the Daily Prophet. “The Boy Who Lied: What Has He Done Now?” the inflammatory headline read.

“Harry Potter’s parents were absolutely two of the most wonderful people you’d ever want to meet, and from what I know, Harry is much like his parents. The day You-Know-Who went after James and Lily was simultaneously the best and worst day the wizarding world had known…at least in modern times. Or so we thought.”

“What do you mean?”

“It was horrible to have such wonderful potential snuffed out in an instant with the Avada Kedavra spell that he used on them and to try to murder an innocent baby as well! It was unimaginable for many of us. And yet, Harry somehow managed to live and we thought You-Know-Who was finally gone for good.”

“You think he’s back?”

Julius nodded soberly. “It appears so.”

“People are saying Harry is lying and Professor Dumbledore is, too.”

“Albus Dumbledore is many things, but he is not crazy nor is he a liar. And I can’t imagine Harry making up a story like that. Can you?”

“Well, I don’t really know Harry all that well, but it doesn’t seem right. And Cedric is dead. What they’re saying doesn’t really make sense. If Harry lied about what happened, then what is the truth? What happened to Cedric?”

“Exactly! I believe, as much as I hate to, that Harry Potter is telling the truth about what happened that day and You-Know-Who is back whether we like that idea or not.”

“Why is the Ministry saying otherwise? Why would they lie to us?”

Julius pondered his answer carefully. “I can’t be certain, but I imagine they are afraid. Minister Fudge is a good man, but he isn’t ready to take on You-Know-Who. He hopes that if he denies it long enough and forcefully enough, it won’t be true.”

Aloysius looked at his father directly for the first time during the conversation. “That doesn’t make any sense! Denying the truth doesn’t make it any less true.”

Julius smiled proudly at his son. “I’m glad you understand that, but some people…even adults, haven’t fully grasped that concept. Cornelius will be forced to admit and face the truth sooner or later, but he will put that off for as long as possible, it seems.”

Aloysius looked back at his cards. “If You-Know-Who is back, does that mean there will be another war?”

Julius’ smiled faded quickly. “I’m afraid that may be the case, son. That’s why it is important for you to learn as much as you can. We may have to fight him in our own home, whether we want to or not.”

“Because Mummy and Sarah are muggles?” he asked, referring to his younger sister.

“Yes, and also because these people will destroy everything they can. Our entire way of life is at stake. There will never be peace until they are defeated. He must beat them or perish under their boot. I choose to fight. I hope this will be over before you have to make that choice, but if not, I hope you make the same choice.”

Aloysius again met his father’s eye. “I will do everything I can to protect Mummy and Sarah and the new baby Mummy is carrying. I will fight. I wish I could practice my spells during the summer, but I can at least read and remember.”

“That’s good, son. Learn all the defensive spells you can. You never know when you may need to defend yourself or someone else. You must be prepared and willing to fight to defend yourself or those in need. Whether the threat is from You-Know-Who and his band or from common criminals in the street, you can’t wait for others to save you. Be prepared and never allow yourself to be a victim without fighting back. The Ministry can’t be everywhere, so we must be organized and willing to do whatever we need to do.”

Aloysius gathered up his cards and stood. “I will. I’m going to my room now to read my textbooks again. Maybe there’s a spell I forgot.”

Julius nodded as he smiled proudly at his son. “You do that. Maybe we can go to Diagon Alley soon to see about getting you a new book or two on defensive spells.” He watched his son climb the steps and prayed he’d never have to use any of the spells in those books, but was glad his son was prepared to do what he needed to. That was the reason Julius had chosen to fight before and had decided to do so again. The thought of You-Know-Who or his minions hurting Julius’ wife or children was enough to make the normally peaceful man take up his wand. Perhaps it would be a good idea to write to Albus and volunteer his services.

He put his paper down, carefully placing the slanderous headline face down, and went to retrieve a scroll and ink.

Milano. È sgomento Edoardo Mangiarotti, il decano della scherma italiana, che con 13 medaglie in 5 Olimpiadi resta uno degli atleti più titolati al mondo. Nonostante i suoi 89 anni Mangiarotti, che ancora presiede la commissione disciplinare della Federazione internazionale, partirà per la Cina con uno scopo: fare chiarezza negli ambienti della federazione sul caso Baldini. «Non trovo parole. Conosco molto bene il ragazzo e posso dire che Andrea è pulitissimo: era la nostra speranza. Per lui è una stroncatura tragica. Dupa cateva luni bune de blogging in care am discutat despre majoritatea subiectelor SEO, m-am plictisit si mi-am zis ca cel mai bine ar fi sa combin doua pasiuni. Voi scrie despre baschet, parerea mea despre acest sport, de ce imi place si multe alte lucruri pe care le veti afla.

Imi place baschetul pentru ca la acest sport ma pricep cel mai bine. Il practic de 3 ani si nu ma satur niciodata de el. Jucat cu niste oameni care cunosc sportul, baschetul mi se pare cel mai frumos sport inventat vreodata. Nimic nu se compara cu senzatia cand te inalti catre cos sau dai un "fash" de 3 puncte(asta insemnand ca mingea trece prin inel si loveste plasa cu o viteza foarte mare incat se aude doar un "fash").

È infatti il tasso al quale le banche si finanziano l’un l’altra in euro, ma è anche il tasso che le banche utilizzano come riferimento per prestare i soldi alla clientela.La maggior parte dei mutui a tasso variabile ha un tasso che corrisponde all’Euribor, di solito quello per le scadenza a tre mesi, con una maggiorazione, che mediamente è tra l’1% e l’1,5%. L’Euribor a tre mesi ieri è risalito ai massimi da sette anni. Lo ha riferito l’European Banking Federation: che rileva come il tasso a tre mesi sia arrivato al 4,97%, un livello che rappresenta il più alto dal dicembre 2000, e che era già stato raggiunto una prima volta all’inizio di giugno.Il fatto è che la crisi del credito si fa sentire pesantemente sui tassi interbancari. Solo due giorni fa l’ufficio studi della Jp Morgan ha rivisto all’insù le stime sulle svalutazioni che sei tra le maggiori banche europee dovranno sopportare nei propri bilanci a causa delle perdite legate alla crisi dei subprime. Solo per citare le tre maggiori: per Ubs, la più grande banca europea, si parla di 8,4 miliardi di franchi svizzeri, contro i 6,5 stimati in precedenza, per Deutsche Bank di 6,5 miliardi di euro invece che 4,9, per Société Générale di 3 miliardi di euro invece che 2,6. Il meccanismo del cosiddetto credit crunch, la crisi del credito, diventa così un circolo vizioso che si alimenta da sé.

Momento difficile per le agenzie di rating, quelle organizzazioni che danno giudizi sull’affidabilità finanziaria di banche, enti e società che emettono obbligazioni. Da mesi sono oggetto di polemica (e in Usa anche di azioni legali) sull’attendibilità dei loro giudizi, che non sono riusciti a evidenziare per tempo i problemi da subprime e le super perdite da derivati. Gli affari sono in calo, con Moody’s, leader del settore, che mercoledì ha annunciato di aver chiuso il secondo trimestre con l’utile in discesa del 48%. E ora arriva un severo giudizio della Commissione europea. Bruxelles ha annunciato, ieri, di aver avviato una consultazione di tutte le parti interessate sulle misure che intende prendere per ridimensionare «l’eccessivo rilievo» attibuito dalla legislazione comunitaria alle valutazioni delle agenzie di rating del credito. Secondo la Commissione le banche vi hanno fatto troppo affidamento e hanno trascurato, perciò, il proprio dovere di valutare in proprio i rischi. Le agenzie di rating sono state inoltre accusate di portare una pesante responsabilità nella crisi dei mutui, per aver generalmente sottovalutato il rischio dei crediti legati ai prodotti strutturati e per aver tardato a tener conto del deterioramento relativo al mercato.

31 months central employees have waited. They just waited ...waited....waited without sulking, protesting but just murmuring. But the governamment of india is undecided. They will only listen to likes of loud wailing or chest thumping. Atleast you should be a vote bank to be in their scheme of things. But central employees cannot become one of those. Because they are true servants of the government. The central employees have braved rough weather of price rise, diminishing purchasing power. They saw scores of their brothers from other organised sectors proudly celeberating pay hikes. Still they wait....like average indian farmer waiting for deluding monsoon!

One must be so careful these days.

I think it’s time to start this thing rolling again. Time to get back into writing about stuff that’s on my mind. Well, culture stuff. If I stick to it, I might even have an audience. Reading a transcript from a recent State of the Arts roundtable, I noticed the consensus that there is (effectively) no arts-related criticism in the Springs. This is not news. However, if I can maintain the interest, this could change. Time to get writing. Time to fill the void. I’ll leave my sad sappy sucker routine at the door. Who knows who may be watching...

Deputati e senatori impettiti al naturale: basta l’orgoglio per aprire la ruota e per pavoneggiarsi nelle mini-autobiografie scritte di loro pugno. Così, nella Navicella della XVI legislatura pubblicata da Italia Oggi che anticipa il volume ufficiale, ecco un tripudio di superbie, vezzi snob e medaglie lustrate in cui specchiarsi come novelli Narcisi.Ognuno cerca di far colpo con le armi migliori. L’esotico, per esempio, «tira» sempre. La Mussolini punta sul «disco di canzoni uscito solo in Giappone», Basilio Giordano invece fa sfoggio del titolo di presidente dei giornalisti italiani del Québec, mentre il radicale Mecacci ha nel suo arco la freccia di una manifestazione organizzata a Cuba. Temerario.La cultura poi fa colpo. L’unico a leggere i fumetti è Enrico Letta, ultimo Peter Pan innamorato di Dylan Dog e del Subbuteo. Per il resto è un Parlamento di adoratori di classici. 1.Acneea este o boală a tinereţii.

Deşi este cel mai adesea întâlnită la adolescenţi, acneea nu are legătură cu viaţa sexuală şi nu dispare odată cu începerea acesteia. Într-adevăr, în perioada adolescenţei, organismul secretă mai mulţi hormoni sexuali şi acest lucru stimulează producerea de sebum. Însă uneori acneea se întâlneşte şi la copii, iar anumite forme ale bolii afectează în mod egal şi persoanele adulte.

2. Acneea este rezultatul unei proaste igiene a pielii.

Formarea comedoanelor nu are legătură cu igiena, ci este rezultatul acumulării unor cantităţi mari de sebum în interiorul foliculilor piloşi. O igienă excesivă poate chiar să agraveze problema: spălări prea dese, folosirea unor săpunuri care usucă, ştergerea frecventă a feţei cu loţiuni dezinfectante, toate acestea activează şi mai mult secreţia de sebum. Practicaţi o igienă echilibrată şi folosiţi săpunuri emoliente.

3. Acneea este strâns legată de alimentaţie.

Părerile sunt împărţite. Mulţi specialişti nu consideră că acneea şi alimentaţia ar fi în legătură directă. Formarea coşurilor are alte cauze: secreţia mare de sebum, urmată de închiderea foliculilor piloşi, inflamarea lor şi infectarea lor cu o bacterie, Propionibacterium acnes. Aşa că puteţi mânca liniştiţi ciocolată, mezeluri, brânzeturi şi tot ce vă place, în limite rezonabile, desigur.

Totuşi, unele studii recente atestă că un consum mare de produse care conţin cereale rafinate (orez alb, pâine albă, biscuiţi, prăjituri etc) poate favoriza apariţia leziunilor. Până se hotărăsc specialiştii, mai bine alegeţi calea de mijloc: nu vă lipsiţi de plăceri culinare, dar încercaţi totuşi să mâncaţi cât mai natural.

4. Acneea este contagioasă.

Nimic mai fals. Deşi coşurile conţin o bacterie, aceasta se dezvoltă în interiorul foliculilor piloşi, la adăpost de aer. Acneea nu este o boală transmisibilă.

5. Nu putem folosi produse de machiaj dacă avem acnee.

Există produse de machiaj destinate pielii cu probleme şi se găsesc de obicei în farmacii. Dacă simţiţi că trebuie neapărat să vă ascundeţi acneea sub un strat de fond de ten, cum fac cele mai multe femei care suferă de această boală, investiţi într-un fond de ten special, sau aveţi grijă măcar să vă demachiaţi cât mai bine şi să nu folosiţi creme hidratante decât pe pielea curată. Încercaţi să nu înfundaţi porii cu produse de machiaj, dacă nu este neapărat necesar.

6. Acneea se vindecă la soare.

În acest caz, soarele este o armă cu două tăişuri. Ajută la uscarea leziunilor, iar bronzul le face mai puţin vizibile, însă coşurile revin după ce expunerea la soare încetează. Multe medicamente pentru tratarea acneei chiar interzic acest lucru, de aceea e bine să folosiţi o cremă de protecţie solară, dacă este cazul.

7. Contraceptivele provoacă apariţia coşurilor.

Chi ancora oggi a Milano guarda ai murales con disappunto, può essere considerato uno scarso intenditore della realtà artistica internazionale: ormai quello della Street Art, o Hip Hop, è un linguaggio che ha conquistato, oltre che i muri, persino le gallerie d'arte e le case editrici. Aprirà domani, alla The Don Gallery in via Melzo 5 (www.thedongallery.com), la mostra Troubles never come alone, una collettiva che ospita le nuove opere, appositamente realizzate per l'occasione, di cinque artisti da tutto il mondo, tra i migliori esponenti di questa affascinante espressione culturale: saranno esposti i nuovi lavori dello statunitense Doze Green; l’italiano Bo130; Che Jen, artista coreana di nascita trasferita a New York a cinque anni con la famiglia; Yuri Shimojo, giapponese di Tokyo ma che ha vissuto tra le Hawaii, New York e il Giappone; infine Microbo, artista siciliana tra le maggiori esponenti italiane ed europee di Street Art. «M'interessa, con questa esposizione, far passare soprattutto l'idea che il graffitismo è un fenomeno artistico fin troppo discusso, ma che, alla fine, nessuno conosce davvero» sostiene il gallerista Matteo Donini. «Esiste infatti una grande confusione, e di conseguenza una facile strumentalizzazione di una forma espressiva che non è certo passeggera: così, quando fa comodo, i writers diventano protagonisti di pubblicità di bibite o abbigliamento, altrimenti sono condannati come imbratta-muri.

Probabil ca va intrebati ce s-a mai intamplat cu puii de porumbel pe care, "daca-i musai, fie si de bunavoie" i-am adoptat in urma cu cateva saptamani. Din motive independente de mine, am reusit sa NU va mai tin la curent cu ultimele "aventuri" legate de acesti orfani...

Le-am fost "mama si tata" pentru perioada cuprinsa intre 17 - 22 iunie 2008...

Dupa ce am invatat sa ii hranesc cu paine cu seminte, inmuiata bine de tot in apa (ca am incercat sa le dau apa cu siringa dar nu stiam cata le era necesara si, in plus, imi era teama sa nu ii "ajut" sa se inece imping cu pistonul mai repede decat puteau ei inghiti), cu castraveti, cremvursti, mamaliga, chiar si zmeura :) - ca sa aiba un meniu cat mai diversificat si bogat in cat mai multe substante nutritive de care habar nu aveam daca sunt benefice sau nu unui pui de porumbel "neintarcat" (mi s-a inaintat propunerea sa le dau si niste rame dar mi-a fost prea greata sa le tai in bucatele si sa le "storcesc" intre degete in incercarile mele hotarate de a le impinge pe gatlejele flamande), spre marea mea minunare, puii nu doar ca nu au sucombat, ci - de la zi la zi - au prins puteri de ma tot minunam ca vitelul in fata portii... Incepusera sa se tina destul de vartos pe picioare (chiar imi era tot mai greu sa ii stapanesc atunci cand ii hraneam, pentru ca le indopam cioculetele pe rand), aripile erau mai puternice si se deschideau tot mai des, parca deja cereau sa se desfasoare in aer, gaturile se inaltau tot mai obraznic si mai sus (Dumnezeule, cat de lungi erau!) iar pliscurile moi si nevolnice devenisera tot mai rapace si mai cornoase...

Ma amuza teribil sa ii vad cum, in disperarea de a apuca mancarea, cel care era in asteptare incerca sa smulga "prada" din ciocul celui caruia ii era randul la "indopat". Nu ca ar fi si reusit! Dar tentativa de "frauda" exista, iar eu (si nepotelele mele, alaturi de care m-am amuzat timp de cateva zile) ne-am tavalit pe jos de atat ras (ma rog, mai mult ele, eu multumindu-ma cu tavalelile la figurat, ca eram personaj principal in scenele cu pricina si direct implicata, in mod "mecanic"). Mai greu a fost cu spalatul cazii de "deseuri" - din care produceau cantitati industriale!!! - fiindca imi displacea in mod categoric sa fac asta; dar... intrasem in hora, trebuia sa joc: imi asumasem o responsabilitatea si era necesar sa o duc la bun sfarsit, indiferent daca imi era sau nu comod ori placut. Cu aceasta ocazie, ii multumesc mamei mele care, de cateva ori, m-a salvat de aceasa corvoada (avand in vedere ca operatiunea trebuia executata de cateva ori pe zi... va dati seama ca orice ajutor, cat de mic, era mai mult decat binevenit). Interesant este ca nu faceau caca in cosuletul in care erau "cazati", ci... in afara lui (banuiesc ca "proiectilele" erau expulzate cu mare viteza, aterizand in afara zonei cu pricina - nu am reusit sa imi dau seama daca "viteza de livrare" era naturala sau provocata de "meniu"... ;) )

Singura solutie pe care am reusit sa o gasim (in urma convocarii Consiliului de Familie) a fost ca tata (saracul, pe el a picat "napasta"!) sa mearga la Piata de Pasari, unde sa caute un columbofil caruia sa i se faca mila de bietii puisori si sa ii adopte, la randu-i.

Duminica, 22.06.2008, dupa ce le-am servit micul dejun, le-am "schimbat scutecele" si le-am facut "freza" curatandu-le (cat am putut, ca se smulgeau cu tot cu puf) resturile alimentare de pe crestete, si-au ciugulit/infoiat penele (putine, cate aveau; dar deja erau vizibile: unul era de un gri mai inchis, ca mama lor, altul ceva mai albicios - probabil ca semana cu tatal) si s-au pregatit de "duca"...

Mi-au mai ramas de la ei doar fotografiile, cosuletul si... dorul... Ori de cate ori intru in baie (la mine ori la mama), imi vine sa ma uit in cada, sa ii vad si sa le aud piuiturile la auzirea glasului meu (Doamne, chiar ma considerau mama lor?!)... Si nu pot sa uit cum "trompetau" cand ii hraneam... nu stiu cum altfel sa numesc sunetul scurt, ca de trompeta veche si sparta, cu care isi insoteau "gogalturile"...

M-am tot gandit daca erau pui de porumbei ori de gugustiuci (desi, indiferent ce ar fi fost, pentru mine tot niste pui neajutorati au reprezentat); am aflat si raspunsul la aceasta intrebare: baiatul caruia i-a dat tata in grija spunea ca sunt porumbei voiajori... Un motiv in plus sa ma bucur ca m-a ajutat Dumnezeu sa ii salvez...

Acestea sunt ultimele fotografii pe care le-am facut cu "copiii mei" (cum i-am numit eu), precum si cu o porumbita care semana foarte bine cu mama lor cea adevarata:

Space shuttle mission STS-125, scheduled for early October, will be the fifth (and presumably final) trip to repair the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope. The space shuttle Atlantis crew will deliver and install a new camera and other scientific equipment (including the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph or COS), as well as new stabilizing gyroscopes.
