Michał Borowski nie będzie już szefem Narodowego Centrum Sportu, spółki budującej w Warszawie stadion - napisała dzisiejsza "Gazeta Wyborcza" powołując się na informacje z Ministerstwa Sportu.

Powodem odwołania miały być m.in. nieścisłości w oświadczeniu majątkowym Borowskiego, o których napisał "Dziennik". Według gazety, Borowski jako naczelny architekt miasta w ekipie Lecha Kaczyńskiego, w oświadczeniu majątkowym nie podał dochodów, jakie miał otrzymywać za prace w szwedzkich spółkach. Borowski odpierał zarzuty - twierdził, że po nominacji zrezygnował z interesów w Szwecji.

- Budowy Stadionu Narodowego nie może prowadzić człowiek, który od trzech tygodni zajmuje się sam sobą - powiedział minister sportu Mirosław Drzewiecki cytowany przez "Gazetę Wyborczą". - Jestem pewien, że pan minister czegoś takiego nie mógł powiedzieć, ponieważ śledzi to, co robię. A ja zajmuję się Stadionem Narodowym, a nie samym sobą - powiedział Borowski. Jak dodał, jego odejścia chciałyby: prezydent Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz i minister Julia Pitera.[gazeta.pl]

A pesar de los exámenes, me ha dado tiempo a ver todos los partidos de la que dicen ha sido la mejor Eurocopa de toda la historia. Yo no lo sé, porque solamente recuerdo algo de la del 96', la del 2000 y la de Portugal.

De las que yo he visto, sí ha sido la mejor. No sólo por la alegría del título español, sino porque ha triunfado el fútbol. Después de la victoria de Grecia en Junio de 2004, y del 'decepcionante' mundial de Alemania hace dos años, el fútbol de selecciones iba cuesta abajo, sin embargo, con este torneo ha renacido con muchísma fuerza.

Me encantó Portugal en el primer partido, con Pepe en plan estelar, con Moutinho sobresaliente, y sobre todo con un Deco sobrenatural, que se erigió en el general del medio campo, pero nuestros vecinos se fueron apagando poco a poco hasta sucumbir frente a los alemanes en cuartos de final.

Me decepcionaron los suizos, en los que solo dejó algún detalle el mediocampista Inler, y sobre todo Francia, que no ha sido capaz de asimilar el cambio generacional, y sigue confiando ciegamente en un Henry que no es ni la sombra de lo que fue en el Arsenal. Hace unos días se ha confirmado que Domenech va a seguir hasta el Mundial 2010, yo creo que el cargo le ha sobrepasado y que desde que asumió esta responsabilidad, el fútbol de les bleus ha caído muchos enteros.

Italia me pareció una selección desaprovechada. Donadoni no se ha hecho con el grupo, y ha sacrificado el talento en favor del trabajo en la línea medular. Personalmente pienso que un mediocampista destructor como Gattuso da equilibrio al equipo, pero solamente uno. La entrada de Ambrosini en el equipo era innecesaria y otras alternativas como De Rossi, Aquilani o Camoranesi hubiesen sido mucho más interesantes. Arriba me gustó mucho Di Natale, eléctrico, vertical y móvil, y Toni, a pesar de no haber marcado, me dejó una grata impresión. Es cierto que es muy tosco y fuera del área es casi un estorbo para su propio equipo, pero lucha todos los balones y da una sensación de peligro consatnte cuando llega al área rival.

Me gustaron los croatas, que fueron creciendo a medida que avanzaba el campeonato, con un gran Modric como director de orquesta, con Srna llegando y con Rakitic y Kranjcar aportando clase. Además, su pareja de centrales, que era a priori una de las más flojas del campeonato, estuvo a un nivel notable y sólo fueron eliminados en los penaltis de cuartos de final en la lotería de los penaltis.

Sobresaliente ha sido la actuación de los rusos y los turcos. Los ex-soviéticos se sobrepusieron a la baja de Arshavin en los dos primeros partidos y a la de Pogrebnyak que se lesionó antes de comenzar la Euro e hicieron un fantástico torneo. El gran público ha descubierto a Pavlyuchenko, Zyryanov o Zhirkov; y Arshavin ha explotado definitivamente como un jugador de primer nivel, lástima que tenga ya 27 años.

Lo de los turcos es un milagro. La mayoría de sus jugadores juegan en la liga turca, y nos pueden sonar los del Fenerbahçe porque eliminaron al Sevilla de la Champions, y sobre todo Nihat Kahveçi, que ha estado a un gran nivel este año con el Villarreal. Ojo con Arda Turan, que es un mediapunta joven muy interesante que se puede desenvolver por el centro y por los dos costados. Los hombres de Fatih Terim han demostrado que sin ninguna estrella rutilante pero con mucho corazón, se puede llegar a estar entre los mejores equipos del continente.

Alemania fue fiel a casi todos los tópicos que le han perseguido durante toda la historia. Mucha fuerza en el medio del campo y poca creatividad, salvando algunos detalles de Ballack. Borowski que debería poner algo de claridad, estuvo practicamente inédito. Centrales altos y corpulentos, con dificultad para sacar el balón jugado desde atrás y mucho peligro en las jugadas a balón parado. Con estas armas y un fantástico partido en los cuartos de final ante Portugal, los teutones se plantaron en la final, pero la tónica general del juego alemán fue como su clima y como su carácter, gris.

Y luego está España, que dejando a un lado el patrioterismo barato, creo que ha sido superior a todas las selecciones.

A few moves earlier in the week weren't meant to shore up Cleveland's struggling pen. The first of which was designating for assignment their former ace closer Joe Borowski. Joe BO epitomizes the woe of Cleveland. He was a league leader in saves (45) only one year ago but could not find his form after battling an injury early on. He was 1-3 with a 7.56 ERA in 18 games this season.

Another theme that the game upheld was the efforts of one Grady Sizemore went for naught. This time a milestone for the young outfielder was overshadowed by the teams 7th (during the writing of this it became 8th) straight loss. In the second inning he hit a three run home run which was his 100th career homer. With the homer he is now one stolen base shy of being (along with Joe Carter) the only Indian's player with 100 career home runs & 100 stolen bases.

The main news--the stop the presses you'll never believe what happened moment involve Andy Marte. The tribe's bench warmer third baseman has barley played this season and struggled when he has. With the fact that the team has pretty much fallen into wait for next year mode he'll be forced into the starting lineup. Well the corner man batting about a buck fifty logged his first RBI of the year. It only took him 28 games or over 50 at bats to do it. In comparison tribe Ace C.C Sabathia has as many runs batted in (1) and more HR's (1) in only 3 at bats. Marte also had a stellar performance in the field making a couple nice defensive plays.

C.C Sabathia appears to be on his way out of town possibly as early as Monday. The likely team is the Brewers for a package of prospects. It's a painful realization to come to but at a point where the team will be going nowhere and neither side is willing to shape their offers to meet in the middle there really is no other option. A team that can now only look to next year can't afford to lose a CY Young award winner for nothing. Two draft picks push the timetable for success back even further. I wonder if there was/is any pressure or guilt felt by C.C's teammates. I mean coming in to the season they sort of ha his future in their hands. If they had played well he'd more than likely continue in Cleveland's rotation for the entire year. If that was the case maybe the negotiation would've continued in a different manner with a different outcome. Who knows? It's hard to remember that this team was one win away from the World Series last year.

It's here, that purgatory of the baseball universe, where competing and evaluating, the present and the future, are supposed to be accomplished at the same time. The Indians officially turned their sights to 2009 on Friday, designating closer Joe Borowski for assignment.

And what about C.C.?  It's what's not being said that's the most important:

General Manager Mark Shapiro talked about several topics during a conference call Friday. C.C. Sabathia's status was not one of them. Shapiro refused to make any comments about trade talks or contract negotiations with Sabathia.

The Brewers are said to be coming hard after the free-agent-to-be Sabathia with their surplus of young talent.

The Brewers?  Talk about coming out of left field.  Here's the scoop from their side:

If the Brewers' latest offer is accepted, it's my understanding that it would include top prospect Matt LaPorta, minor-league third baseman Taylor Green and probably another prospect, perhaps outfielder Lorenzo Cain.

"Cleveland is in control of this, not us," said Melvin, who wouldn't reveal the names of players he has on the table. "They told us they're talking to other clubs, too. You never know how these things are going to work out.

The Brewers lost young right-hander Yovani Gallardo for the season with a knee injury on May 1, a devastating blow to their starting rotation.

With right-hander Ben Sheets headed for free agency after the season and the future of first baseman Prince Fielder uncertain, the Brewers aren't guaranteed of being in this position a year from now. That situation heightened the urgency to find an established starting pitcher who might put them over the top, and they immediately targeted Sabathia.

It also looks like the Indians are planning on pulling the trigger soon:

Sabathia's next scheduled start for the Indians is Tuesday, and he threw a bullpen session Saturday in preparation for that outing. But No. 5 starter Jeremy Sowers, whose next turn is being skipped, also threw a bullpen, providing a Plan B should Sabathia be traded before Tuesday.

Injuries seem to be have made Aragones a lucky man. It looks like Cesc is going to start. He has been forced to make the right decision and start Cesc Fabregas only due to the injury to Villa. Bad as it is to say it, Villa's injury was a blessing in disguise for Spain who were able to win the game due to the strength in midfield that Cesc brings. Not only that, it looks like Ballack might miss the final due to a calf injury. As it usually is, sometimes its better to be lucky than good...

If Ballack's injury keeps him out of the final, he will have never played in a major final for Germany. He missed the 2002 World Cup due to suspension, got knocked out of the 2006 World Cup Final in their semifinal overtime loss to Italy and now potentially Euro 2008 as well. May be just as well, because if he suffered through a repeat of 2002, it would be just too cruel. In 2002, when he played for Bayer Leverkusen, he lost the German Bundesliga in the last week and lost the Champions League Final to Real Madrid with a brilliant Zidane volley leaving him trophyless. That was followed by the defeat in Korea to Brazil in the 2002 World Cup Final. Fast forward to 2008 and the same thing could happen - Chelsea lose the Premier League title to Manchester United in the last week and then the Champions League Final by the width of a post. Ironically, the tournament Germany most deserved to win - when they were playing their best football - was the 2006 World Cup when Grosso and Del Piero's last minute goals in overtime knocked them out of appearing in the final on home soil. I don't foresee the Ballack curse changing tomorrow...

If Ballack is out, it might turn out alright for Germany. It might force Loew to have a three man defensive cordon to jam up the Spaniards. Frings, Hitzlsperger and Borowski or Rolfs to hold behind Schweinsteiger, Podolski and Klose. I personally think that Loew should use this setback to become more aggressive. Have Kuranyi join Klose up front and have Schweinsteiger, Frings and Hitzelsberger play behind the front three. Challenge the middle of the Spanish defense and it will cause Ramos to stay home more which will help slow down the Spanish attack. Keeping three in defensive midfield is going to result in death by a thousand cuts against the superior passing Spanish midfield...

The other side of Ballack being out - the height advantage is gone. Podolski, Hitzlsperger, Frings, Lahm, Klose (he can jump though) and Schweinsteiger aren't that tall. So in midfield and at the offensive end, Germany is going to have to win the battle on the ground during regular play. That's why dead ball situations are going to be even more critical...

Should Loew try another tactic and use Lahm at left wing and move Podolski up front to partner Klose? Lahm didn't really played that well defensively against the quicker moving Turks - Sabri undressed him a couple of times. If you move Lahm up front and have the quartet of Podolski, Lahm, Klose and Schweinsteiger free to interchange and attack, it will give Spain problems. Have Frings and Hitzlsperger hold and bring in Jansen or Fritz at left back. Lahm can drop back and help defensively but will provide more drive down the left if he plays at left wing. Podolski and Klose should be playing up front together where their movement will cause issues for Puyol and Marchena thereby giving Klose more room for the high balls. Just a thought, Joachim...

Very glad to see that Domenech is supposedly going to be fired and replaced by the man I had picked as my choice - Didier Deschamps. Domenech is Aragones' more arrogant twin - except he doesn't have the luck to balance out his lack of ability...

Chi di spada ferisce di spada perisce, così dopo aver vinto le ultime 3 partite all'ultimo secondo i Turchi di Terim hanno perso la semifinale contro i favoritissimi della Germania al 90', grazie a un goal del terzino del B. Monaco Lahm. Partita fantastica a Basilea, piena di capovolgimenti, giocata meglio dalla Turchia, ma vinta dalla Germania, la solita Germania, sempre incisiva e tremenda sotto porta. Terim può essere contento del suo lavoro, ha portato in semifinale una squadra che secondo i pronostici non doveva neanche passare il 1°turno ed ha giocato la semifinale con appena 14 uomini in rosa con il coltello fra i denti e mettendo in difficoltà i tedeschi.

La chiave della partita è stata sicuramente la rete di Boral che sveglia i tedeschi e galvanizza i turchi. Schweinsteiger risponde a Matthäus che lo aveva criticato in settimana ("Il tedesco è un buon giocatore ma non è un campione. In Italia ne abbiamo molti di giocatori bravi almeno quanto lui.") e segna il suo secondo goal ad Euro08 in 4 partite, assistito dall'amico e compagno di squadra Podolski, sempre precisissimo nei passaggi. La partita dopo il goal di Bastian (basta, non scrivo più quel cognome) non cambia, è la Turchia a fare il gioco, i tedeschi provano a sfondare un paio di volte ma la squadra di Terim è messa troppo bene e va vicino un paio di volte al gol del vantaggio.

Gol che arriva, ma dalla parte opposta, infatti dopo uno splendido cross di Lahm, Rustu esce male regalando a Klose l'opportunità di segnare il suo secondo goal ad Euro08, opportunità che ovviamente non spreca. La Germania adesso può far quel che vuole della partita, ma la Turchia dimostra ancora di essere un osso duro ed all'86' (seguendo sempre la regola del gol negli ultimi 5 minuti) pareggia con Semih, che insacca d'esterno dopo un ottimo lancio di Sabri. Per i Turchi è un sogno andare ai tempi supplementari, ma Low non ci sta, i favoriti salgono tutti in attacco, e proprio al 90', complice la difesa della Turchia, ed anche un pò di fortuna, Lahm chiude bene il triangolo con Hitzlsperger e porta a casa la vittoria.

Fantastica partita, che in molti ricorderanno, la Germania vola dunque in Finale, aspettando Russi o Spagnoli, ma con la consapevolezza di essere ancora la vera favorita per la vittoria finale.

Nel big match di ieri sera i tedeschi,più concreti, hanno battuto il Portogallo favorito e passano alle semifinali. Davvero Germania killer, domina nella prima mezz'ora del primo tempo e segna 2 gol su 3 occasioni. Splendida l'azione del primo gol, con doppia triangolazione Ballack-Podolski, l'attaccante del Bayern crossa al millimetro per Schweinsteiger che insacca. Dopo appena 6 minuti Klose fa 2, ancora Schweinsteiger protagonista, punizione perfetta, dormita dei portoghesi e primo gol in Euro08 per Miroslav Klose.

Il Portogallo finalmente si sveglia, Scolari inserisce Raul Meireles e toglie Joao Moutinho, così Deco, libero da ruoli di interdizione, ispira Ronaldo con un grande lancia al 40', il futuro Pallone d'Oro sbaglia di fronte a Lehmann ma Nuno Gomes sulla ribattuta fa 2 a 1. Si va negli spogliatoi con il Portogallo che riapre la partita, che ricomincia nel secondo tempo sulla falsa riga del primo. Ronaldo finalmente entra in partita, ed il Portogallo si fa pericoloso. Pepe si mangia un gol a porta aperta, e per la solita legge "Gol sbagliato, gol subito", alla prima occasione del secondo tempo ancora punizione di Schweinsteiger (ci sempre 2 anni per scrivere sto cognome) e Michael Ballack chiude virtualmente la partita con un gran colpo di testa, ed anche con uno spintone ai danni di Ferreira. L'arbitro non vede, i portoghesi si lamentano, ma è 3 a 1.

La Germania quindi con il vantaggio di 2 gol può fare il gioco che predilige, ad una ad una escono tutte le punte ed entrano i difensori, il Portogallo prova l'assedio, e riesce ad accorciare le distanze all'87'. Nani fa tutto da solo, si mangia 3 tedeschi, crossa in area ed Helder Postiga di testa insacca. E'ormai troppo tardi però per i portoghesi, Scolari viene eliminato sul più bello e torna a Londra, il Portogallo dimostra ancora una volta di essere una squadra con poca esperienza, troppi solisti e una difesa non proprio impeccabile.

Il Portogallo pecca sicuramente per alcuni episodi clou, il primo gol è solo bravura tedesca, ma il secondo è puramente colpa dei difensori. Non si può lasciare uno come Klose libero di saltare in area. I Portoghesi sicuramente non meritano di uscire così, ma questa sconfitta servirà loro da lezione. La Germania è stata sottovalutata, e tutti noi sappiamo quanto sia pericolosa la squadra di Loew. Ballack re del centrocampo, difende ed attacca, cuce e ricuce una partita che i tedeschi hanno vinto sicuramente lì, a centrocampo. Schweinsteiger batte Ronaldo nella personale sfida sulle fasce, il numero 7 portoghese si vede poco e niente, invece Bastian è sempre presente nelle azioni clou della partita, sicuramente il migliore in campo.

Peccato per Scolari, ma in queste due settimane c'era troppa tranquillità nel ritiro portoghese. Non si parlava d'altro di Real Madrid e Ronaldo, Scolari e Chelsea. In un certo senso, son contento che sia finita così, la stella annunciata Ronaldo ancora una volta ha fallito nell'appuntamento più importante. Bravo, pallone d'oro.

Cronaca della partita.

Podolski, naturalizzato tedesco, nato in Polonia, stende i polacchi con due gol tanto belli quanto evitabili per una difesa polacca disastrosa. La favorita parte con il piede giusto, seguendo la Croazia, vittoriosa nel pomeriggio.

E’strano come la storia e la sorte certe volte facciano degli scherzi di cattivo gusto. Prima l’ennesimo Italia – Francia, dopo 8 anni di sfottò, insulti e veleno. Poi Germania – Polonia, una sfida che vorrebbe nascondere quel retro-gusto storico che ha, ma che in realtà non potrebbe mai farcela. Il segno lasciato dai tedeschi in Polonia è indelebile, e la ferita troppo profonda, così inevitabilmente questa atmosfera si rispecchia nel calcio, e in una partita di calcio.

In campo ieri c’erano 3 calciatori tedeschi nati in Polonia e naturalizzati, fuori dallo stadio ci sono stati anche scontri fra neo-nazisti e tifosi polacchi. Il vizietto degli scontri allora non ce l’abbiamo solo noi italiani, eh Platini?

Sul campo invece si è vista una bella partita, combattuta in maniera cinica dalla Germania, che con un ottimo Podolski stende i polacchi, che sbagliano in maniera davvero stupida il fuorigioco, con la difesa altissima. La Germania è superiore alla Polonia, lo si vede anche nelle gambe dei tedeschi, che hanno tanta voglia di vincere, con gente come Ballack che oltre alla classe in campo ha messo tanto agonismo, figlio della sconfitta europea ai rigori con il Manchester.

Tutto sommato quindi risultato giusto, la Germania si conferma la grande squadra che è sempre stata, ma ancora deve incontrare i croati, giustizieri degli Inglesi, e veri rivali del girone.

Ich kann mir nämlich nicht wirklich vorstellen, dass dieses Spiel einen großen Einfluss auf das viel beschriebene "Casting" von Teamchef Löw hat. Gut, vor dem 2:2 verliert Jermaine Jones ziemlich bescheuert den Ball - er wurde dabei aber nicht nur schlecht angespielt, Jens Lehmann hätte den anschließenden Schuss durchaus halten können, wenn es nach den meisten Medien geht, sogar müssen - Mist, jetzt hab ich doch was dazu geschrieben) - aber deswegen kein Foto für ihn zu haben, wäre irgendwie unfair. Ich gehe eher davon aus, dass Löw hauptsächlich auf die Leistungen im Training guckt und ihn deswegen auch in den Workshop in Ascona einladen wird.

Das wiederum könnte verheerende Konsequenzen für meinen persönlichen Streichkandidaten Nummer Eins, Tim Borowski, haben. Der hat sich nämlich pünktlich zur Landung in Mallorca krank gemeldet und bisher noch keine Trainingseinheit mitmachen können. "Tim kann nichts dafür, dass er krank ist", war das Statement des Bundestrainers dazu. Das könnte auch die Begründung von Löw für Borowski sein, ihn nicht mitzunehmen. Arne Friedrich ist auch krank, dem Herthaner hat anscheinend das Hotelessen auf den Magen geschlagen. Die Frage ist allerdings, ob Löw nach den Erkenntnissen aus dem Spiel gegen Weißrussland auf den Innenverteidiger Friedrich verzichten kann. Der Außenverteidiger hat seine rechte Seite längst gegen Philipp Lahm verloren, über links kommt Marcell Jansen.

Bleibt immer noch das Problem im Sturm. Helmes oder Neuville? Schneller, junger Stürmer, der immer für ein Tor gut ist? Oder schneller, alter Stürmer, der allein schon wegen seiner Präsenz und seiner prägenden Vergangenheit mit muss? Es würde mich nicht wundern, wenn am Ende ein ganz anderer zu Hause bleiben muss, weil er sich von seiner Spielweise her zu wenig von seinen Kontrahenten absetzt. Kevin Kuranyis Nationalmannschaftskarriere wäre wohl - von ihm aus - sofort beendet. 

Der DFB-Tross, der direkt nach dem Spiel - komplett - zurück nach Mallorca geflogen ist (Nicht bestätigtes Zitat von Oliver Bierhoff: "Wir hams ja"), wird sich am Mittwoch auf jeden Fall um drei Spieler verringern müssen. 1. Rozpad LiD-u, Sprawa Olewnika, powroty Borowskich i Cimoszewiczów.

Z rozbrajającą szczerością przyznał był marszałek (były) Borowski, że problemy polskiej lewicy postkomunistycznej nie powstały dzisiaj, ale już w 2003 roku. Prawda to święta. Problemy postkomunistycznej lewicy rozpoczęły się, kiedy majatek państwowy przestał wystarczać do zaspokojenia apetytów wszystkich beneficjentów "przemian". Czas mija i lody coraz mniej słodkie, choć apetyty wciąż wilcze. Stąd - z braku dostatecznej ilości słodkiego surowca - wzięła się wojna gangów, której emanacją stała się "zaskakująca" i "porażająca" afera Rywina.

Już od czasów Millera stało się jasne, że lewica postkomunistyczna nie może zarządzać państwem w oparciu o aparat państwa z jednej strony, a aparat mafijny z drugiej. Stąd z kolei brały się smutne koleje losów niektórych byłych kolegów z wojska i resortów, czego Jeremiasz Barański dobitnym przykładem.

Biznes nam spoważniał i fraternizować się z byłymi podrzędnymi ubekami nie będzie. Poza tym, po wejściu Polski w struktury unijne, biznesowi potrzebni są światlejsi reprezentanci. Wyksztłaceni i najlepiej z tytułami. Słowem: nadeszły czasy fachowców, którzy zastapią nienadajace się już do niczego "mamuty".

Zanim człowiek prosty (np. były szef jakiejś podrzędnej ekspozytury SB) się domysli, człowiek inteligentny już wie, więc nie dziwota, że rozpadł się LiD, który opuscili ci inteligentniejsi, w dodatku demokraci.

I nie minął miesiąc, kiedy rozpętała się afera p.Olewnika! Straszne rzeczy! Lokalny przedsiębiorca zaszczuty przez miejstniejacy jeszcze dwa-trzy miesiące temu układ mafijno-policyjno-polityczny!

Miał szczęście swoją drogą pan Olewnik-senior! Gdyby nie sprzyjająca koniunktura mógły pewnie jeszcze latami czekać na sprawiedliwość! A tak doczekał się dając (zakładam, że nieświadomie) wszystkim lokalnym biznesmenom czytelny sygnał gdzie ochrony nie szukać, a gdzie szukać należy, najlepiej od zaraz.

To potężny cios w zaplecze lokalnych szejków z szajki "mamutów", których powaga i wiarygodność została publicznie podważona przed kamerami w godzinach największej oglądalności. Bye, bye, mamuty! Nadchodzi czas słoni nowoczesnych i manualnie :-) zdatnych do precyzyjnej wszak czynnosci kręcenia.

2. Odebranie Polsce prawa organizacji Euro 2012 miałoby dalekoidące skutki społeczne; mogłoby spowodować "paraliż narodowej woli" wszędzie tam, gdzie idzie o sprawy ogólnonarodowe, jak ogłosiło w specjalnym raporcie.

Nie od dzisiaj jednak wiemy, że wszędzie tam, gdzie dochodzi do udanej realizacji naszej narodowej woli kończy się antysemityzmem i awanturami w Europie.

Być może odebranie Polsce prawa do organizacji Euro rozwiązałoby ten bolesny problem i nasza narodowa wola zostałaby przytemperowana do własciwych rozmiarów? Do rozmiarów dresa oglądającego nowoczesną budowlę w centrum Berlina z rozdziawioną paszczą? Jakieś Centrum lub "Znak" dajmy na to?

A przy okazji wspomniane prawo odebrano by i Ukrainie, co potwierdziłoby tezę wielu mądrych ludzi z miasta Moskwy o sezonowości tego tworu państwowego.

Jakkolwiek nie byłaby frustrujaca sytuacja znalezienia się wśród narodów i państw niepoważnych, pocieszajmy się, że przy tej okazji wiele naszych hydr narodowych zniknie jak sen złoty, a i mroki naszej przeszłosci przestaną krążyć po salonach strasząc intelektualistów.

Zresztą, jak mamy urzadzać jakieś europejskie zawody w kopaniu gały, skoro lada moment nie dość, że nie zarobimy na tym interesie z Unią, to jeszcze możemy dołożyć w formie składki, która nie wróci w postaci jakichkolwiek dotacji na cokolwiek, co będziemy chcieli wybudować, jako że nie potrafilismy się dogadać z organizacjami pozarządowymi ekologów?

Czujecie w którym kierunku umyka aromat lodowy?

Zyklon B:

Hydrogen cyanide HCN, prussic acid, is a chemical compound in the form of a powerfully poisonous, volatile colorless liquid with the odor of bitter almonds. Prussic acid is considered a battlefield poison agent. Its action depends on the restraint of cellular respiration as a result of neutralizing the respiratory enzymes. Prussic acid passes through the mucous membranes and the skin, but principally through the lungs, into the blood. It blocks the process by which oxygen is released from red blood corpuscles and the result is a sort of internal asphyxiation. This is accompanied by symptoms of injury to the respiratory system, combined with a feeling of fear, dizziness and vomiting.

Zyklon B was used in Germany before and during the Second World War for disinfection and pest extermination in ships, buildings and machinery. In the Auschwitz concentration camp as well, it was used exclusively for sanitation and pest control until the summer of 1941. After the end of August 1941, Zyklon was used in the camp, first experimentally and then routinely, as an agent of mass annihilation. Zyklon B consisted of diatomite, in the form of granules the size of fine peas, saturated with prussic acid. In view of its volatility and the associated risk of accidental poisoning, it was supplied to the camp in sealed metal canisters.

The Zyklon used at Auschwitz concentration camp was produced by a firm called Degesch (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Schädlingsbekämpfung mbH), with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and forming a part of IG Farbenindustrie.

INTRODUCTION

Borowski was one of the most lauded Polish fiction writers of the post-World War II era. He is best known for the English translations of his short stories, collected in This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen, and Other Stories (1967), based on his experiences as an inmate of the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Borowski's Auschwitz stories are unique to the body of Holocaust literature because they focus as much on the persecutions and betrayals among prisoners as on the cruelties and inhumanity of the guards. Borowski's narrator in many of these tales is a prisoner who has survived by securing a position of relative privilege within the camp system, aiding in the functioning of the Nazi death machine. Borowski's tone is one of detachment as he relates the horrors of concentration camp life. Often, Borowski's prose was extolled by critics for its profound sense of dissolution in relating the ineffable barbarism that characterized life and death at Auschwitz. Borowski's uncompromising realism banishes heroic acts or redemptive lessons—his stories are bitter testimonies of human atrocity and baseness, effectively conveying the narrator's responsibility to “bear witness” for those who did not survive the Holocaust.

Biographical Information

Borowski was born November 12, 1922, in Żytomierz, Poland, then part of the U.S.S.R. When he was four years old, his father was accused of political dissidence and sent to a labor camp in the Arctic. When Borowski was eight, his mother was sentenced to prison in Siberia, and he was put in the care of an aunt. In the late 1930s, shortly before the outbreak of World War II, Borowski was united with his parents, and the family moved to Warsaw. After Nazi forces invaded Poland during World War II, Poles were forbidden from obtaining any education; Borowski, of college age, began to attend clandestine courses at Warsaw University. During this time, his first volume of poetry was illegally published and distributed by an underground press. Shortly after, Borowski and his fiancée were arrested by the Gestapo for political dissidence. They were placed at various prison camps until finally they were sent to Auschwitz. Their lives were spared only because three weeks before their arrival the SS had changed its policy to exempt non-Jews from execution. Borowski became a hospital orderly at the camp, thus earning various minor privileges. Other duties took him into the women's area of the camp, where Borowski was able to see his fiancée. Toward the end of the war, Borowski and his fiancée were moved to another camp, Dachau, from which they were liberated by Allied forces in 1945. In 1946, now married, they returned to Warsaw, where Borowski began to publish volumes of short prose pieces based on his experiences during and after the war. In 1948, he became a Stalinist and staunch supporter of the Communist Party in Poland. He worked for the Secret Police and wrote pro-Communist propaganda pieces. The details of Borowski's death are ironic: having survived Auschwitz, Borowski, in July of 1951, committed suicide by turning on the gas oven in his apartment and asphyxiating himself.

Major Works of Short Fiction

Borowski's most widely celebrated short fiction is the volume This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen, and Other Stories, which includes translations of his stories originally published in the late 1940s. This collection of short stories is based on Borowski's experiences in Auschwitz during World War II. His other major story collection is Pozegnanie z Maria (1948). Borowski's fiction is frequently categorized as literature of atrocity—works inspired by mass crimes against humanity committed during the twentieth century. More specifically, his stories are often discussed as Holocaust literature. Borowski's fiction is unique among works of Holocaust literature in its focus on daily life in the concentration camp, particularly through portrayal of the betrayals and persecutions the prisoners themselves employed to survive. Jan Kott, in an introduction to This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen, quoted Borowski's charge to those survivors of Nazi concentration camps who would write of their experiences: “The first duty of Auschwitzers is to make clear just what a camp is. … But let them not forget that the reader will unfailingly ask: But how did it happen that you survived? … Tell, then, how you bought places in the hospital, easy posts, how you shoved the ‘Moslems’ [prisoners who had lost the will to live] into the oven, how you bought women, men, what you did in the barracks, unloading the transports … tell about the daily life of the camp. … But write that you, you were the ones who did this. That a portion of the sad fame of Auschwitz belongs to you as well.” Unlike other works of fiction to emerge from survivors of Nazi concentration camps, Borowski's stories lack any heroic martyrdom or redemptive morality, offering only a stark realism. Irving Howe, in the New Republic (1986), commented that in these stories, “Borowski writes in a cold, harsh, even coarse style, heavy with flaunted cynicism, and offering no reliefs of the heroic.” Howe added that Borowski's stand-in and central character throughout these stories, Kapo Taduesz, “works not only with but on behalf of the death system.” Andrzej Wirth, in Polish Review (1967), noted, “In the Auschwitz cycle [of Borowski's fiction] the narrators have certain features in common. In each case he is a victim collaborating in crime. Within the system of extermination he has found a comparatively comfortable position of a mediator between victims and their tormentors and plays this role with relish.” Borowski focused on the ways in which extremes of persecution can result in the corruption of the victims as much as the perpetrators. In one story, a Jewish woman at Auschwitz refuses to acknowledge her own child, as it walks behind her yelling, “Mama! Mama! … don't leave me!,” because she is afraid she will be killed if the SS guards see that she is a mother. While Borowski conveys the inhumanity of those who run the concentration camp, he is no less harsh in his depiction of the cruelty and betrayal that the inmates perpetrate upon each other. The protagonist in many of these stories is, much like Borowski himself, one of the camp inmates who manages to survive by securing for himself a post with which he assists in the functioning of the death camp, leaving the narrator passive in the face of mass murder. Borowski's prose details an inability of the individual to challenge the bloody reality of the camp, allowing a surreal mixture of normative leisure activities with grim slaughter. In “The People Who Walked On,” for example, the main character notes that, while he plays soccer in a field near the gas chambers, “right behind my back, 3,000 people had been put to death.”

Critical Reception

Mark Shechner, in the Nation (1976), described Borowski's prose as “some of the most lucid and powerful testimony we have about life in the house of death.” As John Thompson, in Commentary (1967), asserted, Borowski, in This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen, “tells the most horrible tales the human race has ever had to hear about itself since time began.” Neal Ascherson, in the New York Review of Books (1976), described Borowski as “the most astonishing young writer in Poland to emerge after the war.” Borowski's first short stories about his concentration camp experiences, “This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen” and “A Day at Harmenz,” were published in Poland before he returned from Europe after being liberated. Kott asserted that these stories “produced quite a shock” to a Polish public that expected to read “martyrologies”; Borowski was thus “accused of amorality, decadence, and nihilism.” Kott added, however, that “at the same time it was clear to everyone that Polish literature had gained a dazzling new talent.”

Critics have often commented on the unique tone of Borowski's Auschwitz stories, noting that they convey the unspeakable horror and hopelessness of the concentration camp through a narrative voice which, on the surface, seems isolated and unmoved by the daily machinations of the Nazi death machine. As Kott commented, “The most terrifying thing in Borowski's stories is the icy detachment of the author.” Howe attributed the impact of these stories to Borowski's narrative voice, which conveys “his absolute refusal to strike any note of redemptive nobility.” Many commentators have observed that Borowski's unique narrative tone relays the burden of a survivor's responsibility to “bear witness” or “give testimony” in speaking for the many who did not survive the camps. Kott described the significance of Borowski's fiction as related to literature of atrocity as such: “Among the tens of thousands of pages written about the holocaust and the death camps, Borowski's slender book continues to occupy, for more than a quarter century now, a place apart. The book is one of the cruelest testimonies to what men did to men, and a pitiless verdict that anything can be done to a human being.”

LiD proponuje powrót do ratyfikacji Traktatu w trybie referendum

Według Wojciecha Olejniczaka problem zaczął się kilka miesięcy temu, kiedy premier Donald Tusk w zamian za obietnicę PiS-u poparcia traktatu w drodze ustawy wycofał się z podpisania Karty Praw Podstawowych. Polityk lewicy wskazuje na to, że Prawo i Sprawiedliwość po raz kolejny nie dotrzymało słowa. W jego opinii Jarosław Kaczyński pokazał drugie, prawdziwe oblicze - osoby, która jest przeciwnkiem członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej w takim samym stopniu jak ojciec Rydzyk.

Zdaniem Olejniczaka próby paktowania z PiS-em do niczego nie doprowadzą. Lider Lewicy i Demokratów podkreślił, że w tej sprawie nie wolno być biernym i ulegać szantażom Prawa i Sprawiedliwości oraz ojca Rydzyka. Dodał, że warto podjąć starania, które doprowadzą do tego, iż to naród podejmie decyzję w sprawie traktatu, jeśli politycy nie są w stanie tego zrobić.

Szef SdPl Marek Borowski ostrzegł premiera przed pokusą gry w rosyjską ruletkę, co może jego zdaniem skończyć się odrzuceniem traktatu. Zdaniem Borowskiego PO nie ma żadnego planu i liczy na to, że ostatecznie część posłów PiS złamie klubową dyscyplinę i poprze rządowy projekt ustawy ratyfikacyjnej. Pyta jednak, co się stanie, jeśli tacy posłowie w Prawie i Sprawiedliwości się nie znajdą. Dlatego także Borowski zaapelował o przeprowadzenie referendum.

Liderzy Lewicy i Demokratów wezwali Platformę i PSL do rozpoczęcia rozmów w sprawie sposobu powrotu do przyjęcia traktatu na drodze referendum. Zwrócili jednocześnie uwagę na fakt, że kryzys wywołany sporem o ratyfikację spowodował, iż zamiast zajmować się reformą ochrony zdrowia i wzrostem kosztów utrzymania, Sejm dyskutuje o - jak się wyrazili - "jakiejś preambule".

Mamy marzec, idzie wiosna, i 40. rocznica tzw. wydarzeń marcowych w PRL. Wszystko dziś wskazuje na to, że polskie organy władzy jednym pociągnięciem palucha przywrócą obywatelstwo polskie wszystkim osobom narodowości żydowskiej, które wówczas z PRL-u wyjechały.

Leser-Brief Nr.1 beschäftigt sich mit der Qualifikation von Jürgen Klinsmann. Sinngemäß schreibt er: "...hat der Jürgen Klinsmann eigentlich einen Trainerschein? Meines Wissens nach ist er nur Bäcker und hat die Lizenz zum Bretzelbacken!"
Also, mal abgesehen davon das Jürgen Klinsmann einen Trainerschein hat, frage ich mich überhaupt warum dieser Mensch einen Leser-Brief schreibt?
Ist er Bayern-Fan? Dann sollte er seinen Arsch nicht nur an den PC bewegen um seinen Namen auch mal in der SportBILD zu lesen, sondern einfach mal googeln. Ist er kein Bayern-Fan? Dann halt doch die Füße still und freu Dich das die Bayern einen Mann ohne Erfahrung beschäftigen - das könnte schließlich die ausschlaggebende Chance für die Mitbewerber in der nächsten Saison sein...?

Leser-Brief Nr.2 beschäftigt sich mit den bevorstehenden Wechsel von Tim Borowski zum FC Bayern München. Sinngemäß behauptet der Leser, dass der Wechsel ein Fehler ist. Borowski würde sowieso nicht an van Bommel und Ze Roberto vorbei kommen und wäre nur Ersatzspieler. Ich weiß natürlich nicht was Klinsmann vor hat. Es würde mich allerdings nicht wundern wenn Klinsmann das bisherige System der Bayern etwas umstellt. Er hat immer wieder betont wie sehr wenig er von Spielern hält die Gegner sinnlos umsensen und damit den Gegner eher stärken [Freistöße, Karten, etc.] als schwächen. Es besteht also durchaus die Möglichkeit das Klinsmann gar nicht so auf "Agressive-Leader" van Bommel steht. Weniger theoretisch ist die Tatsache das Ze Roberto in der ersten Saison des Neu-Bayern Borowski wiederum seine letzte Saison in Europa spielen wird. Sein Vertrag endet 2009 und er will danach, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, in den USA spielen.
Nach einen Übergangsjahr könnten wir im Mittelfeld vielleicht Schweinsteiger - Ottl - Borowski - Ribery sehen. Und wer weiß wohin der Weg von Kroos führt. Ich kann mir zumindest nicht vorstellen das er bei Bayern zum Rentner wird. Aber das ist ferne Zukunftsmusik.
Um zurück auf den Leserbrief zu kommen: ZeRoberto spielt seine letzte Saison und ganz allgemein gesteht man neuen Spielern häufig eine halbe bis komplette Saison zu um voll in eine Manschaft integriert zu sein. Passt bei Borowski also wie Faust-aufs-Auge. Das ist keine Garantie das er es bei den Bayern schafft - aber Garantien gibt es im Fussball sowieso nur eine: das Schalke04 nie deutscher Meister wird. [Aua, dafür kriege ich jetzt bestimmt böse Kommentare - aber besser als gar kein Feedback.]

Also, ich habe weder die Weisheit mit Kellen gelöffelt noch bin ich selber irgendein selbsternannter Fussball-Experte. Aber immerhin blamiere ich mich nur in einen Blog o. Foren die nicht annähernd so oft gelesen werden wie die SportBILD, wenn ich Unsinn schreibe. Und um die Sache abzurunden schreibe ich meine fussballerischen Klugscheißereien auch noch unter einem Pseudonym und stehe nicht mit Name und halber Anschrift dazu.
Sollten sich einige Leser-Brief-Schreiber vielleicht auch mal überlegen es so zu machen.
