Do you remember the N95 8GB??? How it created a furore in the market? A 5 mega pixel camera phone with 8 GB of internal memory in black and with a bigger screen!!! I know it might not sound like earth shattering, but it did get its share of eyeballs!

I was just thinking about the N96, now that its launched and it going almost the same way as the N95 in terms of a battery and lens cover... What would Nokia do to arrest the declining of its new flagship model?

I came up with a list of options that could come up in an alternate N96
1. Lens cover.
2. Bigger battery.
3. New colour. (possibly expanding on 'express on' covers concept complete with the theme aspect as well)
4. AM-OLED screen with VGA resolution and 3 inch screen.
5. Internal storage capacity bumped to 24GB. Micro sd card support separate.
6. Multiple colour backlight for keypad.
7. Wi-Max.
8. Xenon flash.
9. HDTV compatibility (HDMI plug???)
10. Micro-usb charging.
11. Recording in DivX format and also at 120 fps.
12. Dolby Stereo surround sound.

The list is probably endless.. but what else do you think would be added into the new N96 or maybe even a future Nokia N series model?
Please leave your comments below! Thanks.[gallery]

Here it is: The bad pick up story of bad pick up stories.

I'll set the scene. Kelly and I were drinking our heads off last Wednesday, and after we ate the sushi that may or may not have fallen all over the floor of my living room, I walked her to 14th Street.

Goodbye, I said, and waved her on.

I turned back onto Avenue A loop and walked by a man, a normal looking man, head first in a dumpster. I knew he was normal because his bike rested aside the big garbage bin with a clean-looking backpack.

I kept walking, perhaps strutting, in my tank top and sweat pants. I was drunk. I might have swaggered.

"You're beautiful!" he called, and I kept walking.

"Of course I am," I yelled as I walked, face straight ahead and picking up speed, "Your head is in the garbage. Everything looks beautiful when your head's in the fucking garbage."

This is the truth.

I kept walking and before I knew it he was on his bike and at my side, goading me on with intelligent quips. When I reached my apartment building, I sat down in front of the entry way. He jumped off his bike and unzipped his backpack to reveal a huge camera.

"Let me take your picture -- you look stunning with this backlight."

I said absolutely not, tossed my hair back and posed. After a good 40 or so pictures, he asked for my number. He said he freelanced for the New York Observer, and he would take me out about town.

I said no. The last thing I need is to see yet another man's garbage.

So I'm trying to branch out and try some different types of photos. I was actually covering the North Star High School annual awards ceremony here in Lincoln. I was disappointed to show up and see all the lights were off. In the past, I would have turned around and left. But I decided to stick it out and challenge myself. Not great results, but a totally different approach, which was kind of fun.

If you ever visit a nutritionist or personal trainer, eventually the conversation will turn to "portion control"--a euphemism for "don't eat so much, you pig." And that concept is especially important to one of the most insidious diet busters of all, the car snack.

Here's one way to find out if you fit this category: Do you keep a portable microwave on the passenger seat? For those who do, there's a new way to downsize those mobile meals.

Gadgetizer says the "Road Pro 12 Volt Sandwich Maker" will whip up a hot hoagie while conveniently plugged into the cigarette lighter. Its menu may be limited, but it's a lot easier than lugging around an "iWavecube" or, for those with George Foreman appetites, a "Tailgating Trailer." Now if they can just figure out a way to include a built-in LCD.

The Rinspeed sQuba flies underwater. Really.

Rinspeed, a boutique automotive design company, plans on blowing away the upcoming Geneva auto show with its sQuba concept, a car that swims underwater, drives autonomously on land, and is emission-free. The car, based on a Lotus Elise, uses an electric motor to drive the wheels on land, plus two other motors to drive propellers underwater. According to Rinspeed, it uses a laser system to detect obstacles ahead so that it can drive itself. Rinspeed released video of the sQuba, showing that it really can swim underwater.

Click here to see Rinspeed's video of the sQuba.

(Credit: Rinspeed)

Sound familiar? James Bond's Lotus swam underwater in the 1977 movie, The Spy Who Loved Me. Of course, that was movie magic. The sQuba can float on the surface and--when the driver floods the open-top cabin--the car will submerge. Rather than sinking to the bottom, it can travel through the water at depths up to 10 meters. Along with its rear propellers, it has small water jets on the sides. Yes, the occupants will get wet, but an integrated scuba tank means they can breathe. Rinspeed points out that the interior materials won't be harmed by contact with salt water, although your tuxedo probably won't fare so well.

Look for our coverage of the sQuba and other cars at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, starting March 4.

options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=auto

Il test dell'input audio continuerà a dare errore nella costruzione della pipeline, ma l'input funzionerà lo stesso :)

This is a more recently image, from the D era. So, in the case that I don’t remember the shutting sets, I can always find them attached to the image file (a fantastic future from the D era). In this case I shoot this image with the sun behind my subject (red fruits?). The idea was to have a blurred background with some spots of light reflections. To obtain these with out loosing the light on my subject, I used the on camera flash. So this is what I did: I set the camera mode on manual, with a shutter speed of 100 and an aperture value of f-14, and after that I pop up the on camera flash and decreased its intensity to minus 3. With this set I was able to illuminate my subject (with out over exposing it) and get some sunset reflections spots on the background.

Additional information: ISO = 160; Focal length 135mm (35mm = 202mm).

This is it for today. Have great weekend!

While trying to diagnose the exact problem with my laptop's display (the inverter board or the backlight itself) I noticed that the backlight still flashes when the computer is turned on. If I did my research correctly this means the inverter board is faulty and the backlight isn't getting the initial power boast to it needs to turn on.

I found a place online that sells the part I need and hopefully my laptop will be back in action in a week.

I've had my HP (dv1331se) laptop for 2-3 years now. So far it's been a really great desktop replacement, but the LCD backlight decided to kick the bucket.

I messed with the rubber thing that turns off the backlight just hoping that it got caught on something (I even ran the computer without the switch cover on) with no luck. It looks like the backlight bulb (my guess) or the inverter board will have to be replaced. That means paying between $100 and $200 (really rough estimate) for parts, and $150 to take the computer into a shop if I decide not to do the repairs myself... or I could go all out and just replace the entire LCD for $800!

I just hope tracking down parts won't be very hard since even HP doesn't seem to sell them.
