Yeah yeah I'm always late on this stuff. Sorry, work and school and laziness =)

Excuses for the win. Anywho, I watched. LAST WEEK. Not on YouTube :)

It was a great debate. Very informative, and... I think Jack Layton did a really good job. I loved how Stephen Harper initiated the attack on the Liberal campaign and Stephane Dion; then all of a sudden the other four party leaders completely blasted Harper and the Conservatives for their failure of a government for the past two years. I believe they were right on.

Another thing I believe is that the Conservatives are more and more like the Republicans of the States. Harper and the Conservatives as of yet do not understand the Carbon Tax. I actually got the Liberal campaign booklet and read everything on the Carbon Tax, through every detail and what Dion says was spot on. Although in my last post on the election I said the Carbon Tax was quite useless; I have seen the light! It is a great method to punish those who are to hurt our environment and give back to the people as another benefit. I hope the Conservatives understand this.

Now, another thing I need to add is that... WOW! I am so surprised about Elizabeth May and her Green Party's platform. It's quite amazing I must say. I thought as a special interest party environment and a few other things were all the Green Party had, but to my constant undisputed belief; the Green Party had a lot to offer the average Canadian and Elizabeth May fought on par with all the other party leaders. If I had a second party to vote for other than the NDP, it would be the Green Party all the way.

I found the Bloc Quebecois leader Gille Duceppe quite... How should I say, useless. Although he was right about many things, he just seemed like he was unnecessary on the debate table. Though I found him to say that he would never become Prime Minister an admirable thing. At least he knows where he stands and does not act as if he could topple over all other parties with what there is available to the Bloc at this moment.

Now, Harper just got attacked throughout the debate. Of course he is the current government and that is to be expected; but in such an incredulous amount? That I don't think so. I think Harper and the Conservatives deserved every attack aimed at them. Canada has fallen into deficit and dropped out of one of the best Kyoto protocols and even entered Afghanistan and the Conservatives had the nerve to cut funds to the arts! The arts a major thing to the Canadian people, and the defence or "repair" of Afghanistan was not an interest Canada was so strong to pursue. Canada to many Canadians, myself included has faced away from it's peaceful presence in the world.

The Conservatives have offered no plan for the next government and the people are completely lost about the Conservatives. I am appalled to see many die-hard Conservatives tell me that they're just voting on what the last government was about. I believe Harper should understand what responsibilities he really has. Just because you cut 95, 000 jobs and created 100, 000 is nothing to be proud of. The 95, 000 lost were high paying, good jobs to raise a family on and live a good life. The 100, 000 are labour jobs by working at minimum wage. Harper relied on this so much during the debate, and I was so greatly angered by him just praying on this argument. I don't think he knows exactly what it's like to lose a good job and try to find one on par with the last. Another thing is that the new offenders act by Harper is disgusting. Fourteen year olds should NOT spend life in prison with adults. That is conflicting of the rights of a child.

Only one big thought on the Liberals. I like their campaign a lot; and pragmatically, they have fed off very well from the other parties to improve themselves for today's day and age. But Stephane Dion as the leader is something I do not like. Yes, he is strong in French, but during the debate I could not fully make out whatever he was saying. I think if he wants to see himself as Prime Minister, he needs to improve on his English language skills and better communication with his ideas as I don't think he can speak of them so well as he should. This might be mean, but guys, this is a candidate for the highest position in our country.

Hehehe... Time to comment on my NDP! Jack Layton! I think he might just cut being a good Prime Minister. It seems over the years he has his platform well memorized and it is very beneficial to the average Canadian. His attacks on the Conservatives were very well done. Why? Because he backed it up with what the NDP would do in exchange. I love the health care plan to get more doctors. It is something stolen from Cuba, but then again, if it worked in Cuba, then surely of course, it would work in Canada. The CMA is greatly diminishing potential doctors and it is time to get those oldies to realize that public healthcare is the way to go. Private healthcare is not in the interest of Canada.

The debate was very good, and I wish it was longer. Eight questions were not enough. Especially when immigration was not tackled at all; I think this is a major issue that should have been questioned.

I received my letter from CGA-Ontario (Certified General Accountants of Ontario) this past January c

I received my letter from CGA-Ontario (Certified General Accountants of Ontario) this past January congratulating me on achieving my long sought after goal - of becoming a designated accountant. It's kind of funny, I started this whole path back in mid 1996 when I was deciding what to do with my life. I had graduated the year before from university an undergraduate degree in History & Russian Literature - I was well read, but no clear marketable skills. I couldn't afford to go back for graduate school and under the terms of OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Plan - aka Student Loan) I was ineligible - my parents' house was worth too much. On a tangent here - OSAP, ridiculously, takes into consideration the market value of the primary residence of the parents; my parents had bought their 3-storey detached victorian in the late 70s when the area was a little depressed - move forward 15 years later and the house was worth a lot of money due to be in a desirable location in the city centre of Toronto and the fact that the house was huge. Didn't matter that we were a single income family (mom worked under the table as a cleaning lady) but that house clinched it for me, it was worth too much though if you took that house and plopped it into Timmins Ontario that family would qualify for OSAP.

Anywho, I couldn't go back to school for further education. I started working full-time and by mid-1996 I was a bookstore clerk at DeVry which at the time had a Toronto campus. I was bored, to say the least, and realised that my life would be just full of dead-end no brainer jobs unless I improved my marketability. All through uni I worked at a credit union as a part-time teller, and I was good at it. I decided that I would explore my options and discussed with some of the business instructors some of the different avenues I could explore. Going for a CA designation would require me to go back to university, couldn't do that. Then it was a toss up between the CGA and CMA programmes of study. I don't play well with others when my academic success is on the line, and the CMA programme stresses group work for assignments. CGA is very much independent studying, which I could live with. And there I was, enrolling for my first CGA course (Economics) for December 1996.

Flash back a decade later and I had finally finished all my courses. All that lacked was the work experience. To get the designation one has to have a certain level of academic excellence - in this case, passing the courses, which trust me is not easy.. though I didn't have the highest grades I did pass each course (17 of them) on my first attempt, which is extremely rare...this meant that I was able to assimilate and understand statistical analysis, economics, financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, theory, auditing, taxation, business law, and finance. I finally got the required documentation from a former employer and submitted that for consideration by the Board of Governors and viola! I passed!

So while I am a CGA, technically I have not been accepted into the membership until I swear my oath before the Association on November 8th. I take my oath then to uphold the Ethical Standards of the CGA. On October 16th my local chapter - Toronto - is hosting an informal cocktail party to welcome me and others as full-fledged members.

I am usually not thrilled with the idea of cocktail parties and the whole schmoozing thing. But I am looking forward to this. I worked damn hard to get this designation and I am extremely proud of myself. Many of the people I started out with in my first economics tutorial didn't survive past their first year. It's a hard programme to stick to, as it is very long and drawn out. A lot of work needs to be put into it - weekly assignments which can take 5-8 hours to complete and 20-30 hours of prep work for the assignments. The assignments only qualify one to write the exams, which are do-or-die. Many a relationship has crumbled due to the stresses of the programme. I have persevered and I am proud.

There is defintely some things worth finding out. And I do wonder why so little time has been spent finding out his past, his history. Yet, we know everything about Biden, McCain, and Palin. Everything is fair game.

From all-about-addiction.com:

A comment posted by a reader on a recent post reprimanded me for suggesting that marijuana caused relationships to go bad. While in that instance the reader was mistaken, as I had specifically used the word associated, the comment made me think that maybe I should explain the differences here. I'm a scientist studying addiction, and in the field, it's very important to be clear about what each of the words you use means.

So let's get into it:

Correlation - When researchers find a correlation, which can also be called an association, what they are saying is that they found a relationship between two, or more, things. For instance, in the case of the marijuana post, the researchers found an association between using marijuana as a teen, and having more troublesome relationship in mid, to late, twenties. The trouble is, there could be other things affecting this relationship that the researchers don't know about, but read on.

Causation - When an article says that causation was found, this means that the researchers are saying that changes in one thing they measured directly cause changes in the other. An example would be research showing that jumping of a clifff directly causes great physical damage.

Most of the research you read about indicates a correlation between variables, not causation. You can find the key words by carefully reading. If the article says something like "men were found to have," or "women were more likely to," they're talking about associations, not causation.

Why the difference?

The reason is that in order to actually be able to claim causation, the researchers have to split the participants into different groups, have some participants engage in the activity they want to study (like taking a new drug), while the rest don't. This is in fact what happens in clinical trials of medication because the FDA requires proof that the medication actually makes people better. Obviously, it is much more difficult to prove causation than it is to prove an association.

So should we ignore correlations?

No! Correlations are still important and still need to be looked at, especially in some areas of research like addiction. We can't randomly give people drugs like methamphetamine as children and study their brain development to see how the stuff affects them, that would be unethical. So what we're left with is a need to study what meth use (and use of other drugs) is associated with. It's for this reason that researchers use special statistical methods to assess associations, making certain that they are also considering other things that may be interfering with their results.

In the case of the marijuana article, the researchers ruled out a number of other interfering variables known to affect relationships, like aggression, gender, education, closeness with other family members, etc. By doing so, they did their best to assure that the association found between marijuana and relationship status was real. As more researchers assess this relationship in different ways, we'll learn more about its true nature.

This is how we found out that smoking causes cancer. Through endlessly repeated findings showing an association. That turned out pretty well, I think...

Bonjour,

Commissaire

John McCain’s Ethics are Less Ambiguous than Obama’s?
John McCain did a bad thing. He cheated on

John McCain’s Ethics are Less Ambiguous than Obama’s?

John McCain did a bad thing. He cheated on his wife. In contrast, Barack Obama is associated with other people that did bad things. In one instance, he sat on a charity board with a man that committed some terrorist level crimes. The man, William Ayers, was, however, never convicted of any crimes, and, from all gathered information, his personal work never led to the deaths of anyone and resulted in very minimal damage compared with typical terrorism. His work is still extremely difficult, if not impossible, to justify, at absolute best. However, Ayers committed these un-convicted crimes approximately thirty years before meeting Barack Obama. In fact, Obama probably wasn’t even a teenager during most of Ayers’ terrorist activity. Yet, Barack is convicted of more guilt then Ayers ever was.

According to the logic of guilt by association, no one should be involved with anyone that ever committed any wrong doing. Good luck finding a charity to work with if you plan to avoid association with all people that have ever done wrong. In fact, you may have to follow the Apostle Paul’s advice in the New Testament book of Corinthians and go out of the world if you want to escape all possible association with wrong doers. Following this same logic of guilt by association, Jesus was actually a drunkard, a thief, and a prostitute. How is anyone supposed to better the world if they can't associate with the world? How can someone help people if all they do is isolate them? Wait. I forgot. Most people would rather try to kill their opponent than find common ground. Having any form of humanity in you that might relate you to the 'others' makes you as bad as 'them', right? It's not like all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God or anything, is it? No, all are created unequal, and the ‘lesser’ deserve to be treated as criminals, even wiped off the face of the earth. God doesn’t call on people to live as examples. He calls on them to go to all corners of the earth and slaughter any not willing to convert to either their religious or governing political ideals. Please note the sarcasm within this message. Once you see it, perhaps you should check whether or not this mentality seeps into your worldview. Is this a Christian ideology? I don’t think so. Yet, I know a vast number of Christians that seem to believe it is the appropriate way of dealing with foreign nations and those that commit that ugly thing called ‘sin.’

Religious logic aside, we have already shown that McCain has committed one of the most traditionally heinous sins possible, adultery. He openly admits this. Let’s examine another case falling under a category that is not so obviously religious by nature—guilt by association. This is the same category that some conservatives try to convict Obama under. In the 1980’s, Senator McCain was associated with a man named Charles Keating. Charles Keating, unlike William Ayers, was actually convicted of crimes: fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy. These crimes, like Ayers’, did not result in the direct deaths of anyone, but they did result, unlike Ayers’, in the loss of several billions of dollars from American citizens eventually paid by the American taxpayer—you—in a government bailout. John McCain’s campaign was directly funded by Keating, and Keating had private meetings in which he tried to convince McCain and four other representatives that they should not pursue allegations against his company. McCain was actually involved with this man while he was committing his fraudulent activity and McCain did nothing to stop him or even report him. Not even when the man, for all intensive purposes, bribed him. In this particular case, the money had already changed hands. McCain had already benefited from Keating’s generosity to his campaign, and Keating was hoping for a return favor. McCain chose to ignore Keating rather than aid in putting an end to his corrupt business practices. John McCain was brought before a senate committee where he was rebuked as “exhibiting poor judgment” but ultimately exonerated.

Let’s get this straight. McCain knowingly associated with a criminal, and he accepted funds from him at the time that the criminal was committing acts of fraud. McCain, when the criminal tried to persuade him and four others to make sure criminal action was not pursued against his company, did nothing. The criminal was later prosecuted and convicted. McCain was even tried under a senate committee for bribery and eventually received a rebuke. The end result was the most expensive failure of a depository bank in US history—paid for with tax dollars in a bailout. While McCain did not commit the act that caused the failure, he certainly did nothing to prevent it. McCain seems much more closely related to Keating than Obama seems to Ayers, who was never even convicted of anything. Obama was also never tried for anything because of his poor judgment. In this case, he was never tried for anything because he was nine years old when Ayers went underground with his terrorist organization, and, by the time Obama met Ayers, thirty years later, Ayers was so far removed from his terrorist past that the two were working on a charity board together. Which one seems more closely related to ambiguous activities?

Maybe we should swing back into religion and the issue of cheating for a brief moment. In his own words, John McCain claims that it was his faith in God that got him through his horrible experience as a POW. Nothing patriotic diminished from his sacrifice, why couldn’t that same faith allow him to be satisfied with his marriage upon returning home? If he was such a religious man, shouldn’t he have been completely satisfied with the wife of his youth? McCain takes all the blame for his failed marriage, very heroic, but he cannot explain why he left his previous wife. He is speechless. Was it lust? A younger woman was more attractive? Was it greed? His new bride had more money? Who knows? Is it possible that McCain knows but refuses to admit why because he understands how horrible that scar would be on his character? Speaking of character…McCain lied to his previous wife when he cheated on her. McCain also lied to his new wife when he began dating her. He initially told her that he was younger than he truly was in order to get her to date him. When he finally revealed to her that he was married, he told her that he was separated from his former wife when he was in fact still living with her. Does this sound like strong moral character? It sounds more like someone who is willing to say and do anything, at the expense of anyone, in order to get what he wants.

In another display of their brilliant strategy and perfect sense of timing (sarcasm) the McCain camp

In another display of their brilliant strategy and perfect sense of timing (sarcasm) the McCain campaign has decided to go down the guilt by association road. They started by telegraphing their intent to bring up Obama’s already de-bunked relationships with Tony Rezko and William Ayres, giving the Obama team time to prepare a pre-emptive strike with this ad:

In doing this McCain strategists opened another door and hit themselves squarely in the face. That would be John McCain’s connection to Charles Keating and the savings and loan scandal which Senator McCain was in up to his neck.

Today the Obama campaign is launching a web site, KeatingEconomics.com, and releasing a 13 minute video documenting McCain’s close relationship to Keating and the similarities between the savings and loan scandal of the 80's and the meltdown of the financial markets we are facing today.

Obama is also bringing up the McCain mud-slinging in his campaign speeches.

“Sen. McCain and his operatives are gambling that they can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance. They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up,” Obama said at an event in Asheville, North Carolina.
“That’s what you do when you’re out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time,” he said.

All these elements taken together could make tomorrow night’s debate very interesting. That volcano known as the infamous John McCain temper could erupt in full force if and when these topics are raised. What was grinding of teeth and refusing to look at his opponent in the last debate could become one of the profanity-laced tirades for which Senator McCain is well-known.

We shall see.

A bientôt!

Many companies today have a customer focus (or customer orientation). This implies that the company

Many companies today have a customer focus (or customer orientation). This implies that the company focuses its activities and products on consumer demands. Generally there are three ways of doing this: the customer-driven approach, the sense of identifying market changes and the product innovation approach.

In the consumer-driven approach, consumer wants are the drivers of all strategic marketing decisions. No strategy is pursued until it passes the test of consumer research. Every aspect of a market offering, including the nature of the product itself, is driven by the needs of potential consumers. The starting point is always the consumer. The rationale for this approach is that there is no point spending R&D funds developing products that people will not buy. History attests to many products that were commercial failures in spite of being technological breakthroughs.[3]

A formal approach to this customer-focused marketing is known as SIVA[4] (Solution, Information, Value, Access). This system is basically the four Ps renamed and reworded to provide a customer focus.

The SIVA Model provides a demand/customer centric version alternative to the well-known 4Ps supply side model (product, price, place, promotion) of marketing management.
Product → Solution
Promotion → Information
Price → Value
Place → Access

The four elements of the SIVA model are:

1. Solution: How appropriate is the solution to the customer's problem/need?
2. Information: Does the customer know about the solution? If so, how and from whom do they know enough to let them make a buying decision?
3. Value: Does the customer know the value of the transaction, what it will cost, what are the benefits, what might they have to sacrifice, what will be their reward?
4. Access: Where can the customer find the solution? How easily/locally/remotely can they buy it and take delivery?

This model was proposed by Chekitan Dev and Don Schultz in the Marketing Management Journal of the American Marketing Association, and presented by them in Market Leader - the journal of the Marketing Society in the UK.

The model focuses heavily on the customer and how they view the transaction.

The report below comes from the Christian Telegraph and describes the discovery of a bowl that ‘scientists’ so called are speculating all manner of theories on. It seems the discovery of any object can be used to push an agenda of any type – in this case an agenda that will stop at nothing to nullify the claims of Christ.

The footage below was found on YouTube regarding the discovery of this bowl:

The report from the Christian Telegraph now follows:

Scientists find ancient bowl that may call Jesus a magician

In what is certainly to be a controversial speculation too hard for many Evangelical Christians to swallow, scientists claim they have found an ancient bowl that refers to Jesus Christ as a magician, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.

A team of scientists led by renowned French marine archaeologist Franck Goddio recently announced that they have found the bowl, dating to between the late 2nd century B.C. and the early 1st century A.D., that is engraved with what they believe could be the world's first known reference to Christ.

In an online article by Jennifer Viegas of the Discovery Channel posted to the MSNBC website, scientists say the engraving reads, "DIA CHRSTOU O GOISTAIS," which has been interpreted to mean either, "by Christ the magician" or, "the magician by Christ."

The MSNBC article says that if the word "Christ" refers to the Biblical Jesus Christ, as is speculated, then the discovery may provide evidence that Christianity and paganism at times intertwined in the ancient world.

"It could very well be a reference to Jesus Christ, in that he was once the primary exponent of white magic," said archaeologist Goddio, who is co-founder of the Oxford Center of Maritime Archaeology.

In her article, Viegas says that Goddio and his colleagues found the object during an excavation of the underwater ruins of Alexandria's ancient great harbor. The Egyptian site also includes the now submerged island of Antirhodos, where Cleopatra's palace may have been located.

Viegas says that both Goddio and Egyptologist David Fabre, a member of the European Institute of Submarine Archaeology, think a "magus" could have practiced fortune telling rituals using the bowl. The Book of Matthew refers to "wisemen," or Magi, believed to have been prevalent in the ancient world.

According to Fabre, the bowl is also very similar to one depicted in two early Egyptian earthenware statuettes that are thought to show a soothsaying ritual.

"It has been known in Mesopotamia probably since the 3rd millennium B.C.," Fabre said. "The soothsayer interprets the forms taken by the oil poured into a cup of water in an interpretation guided by manuals."

Fabre added that the individual, or "medium," then goes into a hallucinatory trance when studying the oil in the cup.

"They therefore see the divinities, or supernatural beings appear that they call to answer their questions with regard to the future," he said.

Viegas writes that scientists theorize the magus might then have used the engraving on the bowl to legitimize his supernatural powers by invoking the name of Christ.

Goddio said, "It is very probable that in Alexandria they were aware of the existence of Jesus" and of his associated legendary miracles, such as transforming water into wine, multiplying loaves of bread, conducting miraculous health cures, and the story of the resurrection itself.

Viegas explains that while not discounting the Jesus Christ interpretation, other researchers have offered different possible interpretations for the engraving, which was made on the thin-walled ceramic bowl after it was fired, since slip was removed during the process.

Bert Smith, a professor of classical archaeology and art at Oxford University, suggests the engraving might be a dedication, or present, made by a certain "Chrestos" belonging to a possible religious association called Ogoistais.

Klaus Hallof, director of the Institute of Greek inscriptions at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy, added that if Smith's interpretation proves valid, the word "Ogoistais" could then be connected to known religious groups that worshipped early Greek and Egyptian gods and goddesses, such as Hermes, Athena and Isis.

Hallof additionally pointed out that historians working at around, or just after, the time of the bowl, such as Strabon and Pausanias, refer to the god "Osogo" or "Ogoa," so a variation of this might be what's on the bowl. It is even possible that the bowl refers to both Jesus Christ and Osogo.

Fabre concluded: "It should be remembered that in Alexandria, paganism, Judaism and Christianity never evolved in isolation. All of these forms of religion (evolved) magical practices that seduced both the humble members of the population and the most well-off classes."

"It was in Alexandria where new religious constructions were made to propose solutions to the problem of man, of God's world," he added. "Cults of Isis, mysteries of Mithra, and early Christianity bear witness to this."

The bowl is currently on public display in the exhibit "Egypt's Sunken Treasures" at the Matadero Cultural Center in Madrid, Spain, until November 15.

Report from the Christian Telegraph

Have you seen them? The five foot high Buzzes around Tech campus? Well it is the Buzz Around Town and you better check 'em out now because they might gone or destroyed before you get the chance.

Celebrating the 100 year annuversary of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association these Buzz statues have been transformed by local Atlanta artists to "reflect the pride that embodies the Tech community". Similar to the Sandy Spring Turtles and the Cows on Parade idea. Well already there are reports of Buzzes being vandalized.

Subject:
Arrgh!!! Someone snapped off my Buzz' antenna!!!
Date:
Wednesday, October 01, 2008 11:09:36 PM

Some ‘frat boy’ sawed off the right antenna of my Buzz!! They have only been up for five days and already four more Buzzes have been vandalized by having their right antenna sawed off. If anyone sees any ‘frat boys’ with Buzz antennas, they owe the Alumni Association $2000 for each one! Report anyone with an antenna to the Alumni Association. My Buzz can’t smell. (Actually, there is a theory that a bee’s right antenna is associated with its short term memory smell-recall.)

I drove through Tech campus today and sure enough a few of the statues' antennae have been removed or rearranged. It is really sad site. I know I was pretty destructive in high school and college but I never defaced my own school's mascot. It really just sickens me to even think about it and trust me as this comes from someone who stole a giant six foot flamingo head off a dry-docked boat in Florida. At least they took pictures of all of them before the damage was done.

For the record, there was time when GRAVEMIST accepted and answered just about any interview that came to us, unless it was clearly for a publication, group or site that was involved in an ulterior motive / agenda.

We wanted anyone who was promoting weird / dark music to be able to promote us too if they liked our music.

After we started following up on the people who had interviewed us, we changed this policy, as we realized that not everything someone is involved with is listed right on the particular website they showed us.

Some later showed themselves to have systems of belief and ties which GRAVEMIST would not normally support or associate ourselves with, including some with anti-American, anti-Israel, or anti-Occult sentiments.

Why someone who thinks in such ways would want to interview or promote an AMERICANA band with ethnically Jewish and Occult-friendly membership is unfathomable.

NONE of the people who have interviewed GRAVEMIST or the members thereof are our "friends" or even "associates" and we have never had any interaction with any of them outside of the internet interviews they conducted with us.

GRAVEMIST the band is not affiliated with any political, religious, or ideological groups.

The individual members may have their own beliefs and personal affiliations, however, thus far, none of those have been involved in interviewing us (or distributing our music or anything else to do with our band).

Prom. 9/11. Job Interview. Hurricane Katrina. Weddings. War on Terrorism. 1st day of school.

What people believe to be important to themselves and to others is all a matter of perspective. Our reactions could range from tears and sissy fit tantrums because Daddy won't let you go to the mall with your friends to complete silence and numbness upon hearing the news of the death of a loved one. How events unfold in our lives, and how we choose to live through those events, is completely a matter of our perspective.

People are all very different; naturally, they perceptions of life and everything in it are very different as well. Some choose to view the glass half full, others, half empty. Optimists, pessimists, realists, be what you may; in the end its really how you feel about the way you choose to perceive things that matter. I consider myself a realist, able to clearly establish pros and cons, and accepting of any circumstance, be it good or bad. I've always been impressed by those who could always put a positive spin on things no matter what the situation - I find these people to generally be more pleasant to be around. Hearty laughs, sociable personalities, these individuals enjoy themselves as best as they can in whatever situation. I'm equally impressed with those who always seem to find the negative aspect of things - these people generally are more interesting to me, albeit depressing to be with. They can dazzle you with their keen observations and their cynical analyses of everything, helping to point out the ugly truths of a matter.

And yet there is another category that I'm not quite sure a name exists for it yet, but there are those that have the observational powers and level headedness of "pessimists" but tamper it with the positive outlook and disposition characteristic of "optimists". Both of the first two categories maintain a slightly narrow-minded approach to things, only on opposite sides of the spectrum. However there are those that can see and acknlowedge both the bad side and good side of things, yet for the sake of their companions and themselves, they opt to focus on the good. These people are both interesting and pleasant to be around.

And lets not forget the power of association. Perspectives change; for many they can change all to easily. Associate with those who have a certain thought process, you'll soon find yourselves thinking the way they do. Find yourself focusing on the negative, unhappy with the way things always seem to you? Spend time with those who find things to smile and laugh about, and more than likely you'll be smiling and laughing with them. Do you often make misjudgements on things due to a bubbily, nonchalant attitude? Converse with those down-to-earth people, and you'll be just as cynical as the rest of them. Again, its the we way we choose to perceive things that ultimately decides how we are affected by them.

And then you have your crazy whack-jobs who are just all messed up.
