Remember the April's fool few days ago, I recalled what I have gone through for my last April's fool.

I used to work in a computer shop in Kuching. Usually salary will be given around that day by the supervisor. So as usual, the supervisor asked me to get the salary from her which is packed in an envelope. So I opened carefully and there was only a paper inside.

This paper shows that I got more cash than my normal salary and I felt so shocked wtf. Then...

Behind the paper... Dammit!

I was fooled. Shit. That's the worse April's Fool I got in my life. Really pissed me off in a deep shit. =.="

Anyway, my salary + commission is really a good pay at that particular month. :)

OK, a menos que você tenha se escondido em uma caverna ontem (ou simplesmente tenha uma vida e não tenha entrado na internet ontem e boa parte do dia hoje, mas isso é improvável), você viu as brincadeiras de abril da Blizzard. Mesmo que você nem a conhecesse direito ou fosse fã de seus jogos, depois do décimo blog e centésimo post de forum falando a respeito disso, você resolveu ver do que diabos estavam falando.

Mas, caso você não tenha visto:

Classe Bardo, Word of Warcraft + Guitar Hero

Classe Tauren, Starcraft 3

World of Warcraft: Molten Core, para consoles

E Uma Piñata de Diablo

Algumas pessoas (como eu) ADORARAM as brincadeiras, especialmente porque elas foram algumas das mais interessantes do dia de ontem. Mas, como eu acabei descobrindo ao ler este post do BloGeek, algumas pessoas não gostaram muito da idéia, especialmente porque eles gostariam de estar chicoteando o pessoal da Blizzard para que eles lançassem seus jogos favoritos mais rápido e não gostarem da idéia deles perdendo tempo fazendo uma brincadeira tão elaborada.

Mas, eu não vejo isso como tempo perdido em desenvolvimento. Isso é, pelo contrário, uma estratégia muito bem elaborada de marketing.

Quantos eles não gastariam para fazer uma propaganda que se espalhasse para tantas pessoas? Estava no Digg, em fóruns, em blogs... em TODO lugar. Acho que o gasto deles com essas brincadeiras foi pequeno diante da repercussão que eles tiveram.

E eles CERTAMENTE se divertiram bem mais fazendo essas brincadeiras do que se divertiriam fazendo uma propaganda mais "convencional".

E eu prefiro que eles gastem parte dos recursos de marketing fazendo algo que me faça rir (e, Deus, como eu ri com Molten Core...) do que fazendo uma propaganda bonita cheia de efeitos especiais. Sério.

O dia passou, e olha quanta gente está falando da Blizzard e seus jogos mais famosos.

Para mim, os caras são geniais. É marketing viral que nem parece marketing viral, o que quer dizer que os caras fizeram direito.

Let's start on a lighter note today.

Yesterday, everyone of you couldn't ignore it was April's Fool Day. I learned that the New Kids of the Block are reuniting and going on tour. I still hope it isn't true.

I mentioned in a previous post how men can age well with time, well, those dudes from that horrible band are a true exception to that.

Then, I couldn't stop giggling yesterday because my newspaper managed to catch a big fish with the joke we put in the headlines yesterday. Most of our readers did understand it wasn't real, but the guy, a CEO of a big company and quite arrogant, just fell into the trap. He made a fool out of himself alone (with our little help) by calling all of his professional contacts to check what was going on, and just for that, we couldn't stop laughing. :evil:

More seriously, I also read yesterday the sad story of a father struggling to get a contact with his son, who's been kept away in Kenya by his ex-wife. Love and hate are opposite feelings, yet so close and so similar.

When it's over, some of us can't accept the situation and start to hate their ex. It's not a good solution, because as long as you keep hating him/her, it just means that he/she's not out of your head, and that you still try to have a connection with your ex. "He dumped me for another woman, and it took me some times to get over the break up. I was so angry and jealous afterwards that I couldn't focus on anything else, including turning the page. I called him many times and hung up as soon as he picked up the phone, I waited in front of his apartment just to see if he was with her, I spied on him. I was pathetic. I hated him, but I hated myself even more for turning into such a fool. A friend of mine helped me realise I was going in the wrong direction, and that I should focus on myself to try to forget about him"P., 35, said.

Some of us can't let it go and decide that because he/she didn't want us anymore, he/she will regret dumping us. That's why they choose to revenge on their ex. There are some sweet revenge that just help you to turn the page for good, but for some people, it doesn't stop there. They want basically to ruin their ex's life, like the mother living in Kenya mentioned above.

What is it with April 1 that has the fools come out in force?

According to Wikipedia, playing pranks has been common since the 18th Century, but has been known and practiced in certain areas, since the 16th Century. Different Customs emerged over time; for example in France, people would amuse themselves by placing a dead fish on their friends backs. (Gross!) Today - they place a paper cut out (much better!) of a fish. Why?

Because "In France the person fooled is known as poisson d'avril (April fish). This has been explained as arising from the fact that in April the sun quits the zodiacal sign of the fish."

As the political and economic climate is rising with hostility, lies, hatred and war. I received these in my inbox from a friend in the ministry. He is challenging his disciples to look to God for the solution and power in April 08' not CNN. God is the God of the impossible and as we press into Him and into restoration, we find hope when the world points us to fear and despair. Let us look away from the waves of uncertainty of our time and look to HIM and HIM ALONE to give the certainty.

Let me take a look at each of these:

1. EXPECT God To Release His Superabundance Into Your Life That'll Result In Your Productivity, Progress, Promotion & Prosperity!

I think of a verse that I meditated on a few entries ago, Deuteronomy 8:18, "But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day".

As I attempt to pull myself out of the financial wreakage that was caused my rebellion towards God and I stop and I realize, "I CAN NOT" pull myself out, He can because all things are possible for Him. It is not up to me.

BUT, I can pray that God would release His blessing on me and He did promise that He came that I might have life and life abundant. He promises to provide for me in my needs. He desires that glory would be brought to His name as I commit myself to restitution and restoration. The debt is huge, the weight is heavy and many woudl say is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

2. EXPECT God To Give U The Harvest For Which You're Praying & Believing!

I come into God's presence and NOW I expect God to show up with miraculous power. He hears and He answers, we must believe. He has promised to give us the "desires" of our heart. He has promised that we can see the "impossible possible!"

God wants us to pray without ceasing, pray in all kinds of prayers for all knds of people. Revival is God's people humbling ourselves and praying in an attitude of repentance for our sins and the sins of our country. Revival can empty the prisons, can convert the wicked into children, can transform our country and the world.

3. EXPECT God To Give You Spiritual Victories In All your Battles!

Never has there been a more critical time in our history to enter the spiritual battle and expect victory through Jesus Christ. Put on the full armour of God...cling to God...win with Him...lift up your eyes to heaven and see Jehovah Nissi, our banner...see Jehovah Shamah, God is who is here...Jehovah Shalom, God who is our peace...see HIM high and lifted up. Let us take back the territory that Satan has won...expect victory...let us join Timothy and "fight the good fight of faith..."

4. EXPECT God To Manifest His Glory In Your Life As He Moves in Your Situation & Turn Around even the Most Difficult Situations You Thought Were Difficult!

This one is critical. What Satan has meant for evil in my life, God has turned around for His glory. God is consumed with His own glory and He will do great things in our lives to bring Him the glory. He works in us for the praise of His owm glory and grace. Expect the glory to show up! The glory of the living God our Saviour.

April's Fool in Pakistan

The problem with celebrating April's fool in Pakistan is that there is already a fool in the top office of the country, not just on 1st April but the whole year round.

However all this could soon change as Musharraf's arch nemesis, Iftikhar Chaudry, has been on the loose the past few days following months of house-arest of him and his family members. He is currently in his home town of Quetta at the initial stages of his LETS GET RID OF THIS DICTATOR ONCE AND FOR ALL (ie the reinstatement of the country's judges) national tour. Good luck to him for the nation is with him!

On a seperate note, certain people in Pakistan decided to celebrate April's fool by making hoax calls to emergency numbers. The Daily Times reports that a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that close to 300 such calls had been made to mark the occasion.

I abhor that day. Beside a few jokes, like some Google ones, I just hate it. I'm an anxious person. I keep having obsessions / thoughts that the whole world is not really like I see it, that X and Y are lying to me, etc. So today is the perfect day for me to wish to hide in my bedroom (or to play Final Fantasy V, after I convince my brain that the game will not fool me) and not go outdoors.

I hate reading everything with an actually justified suspicion. OK, which part of this is real? Which part is a lie? Is this website pulling a prank or are they serious?

As brincadeiras hoje estão, além de ridículas, bastante inverossímeis, do gênero "ha, legal, feliz primeiro de abril para você também".

Mas essa da Blizzard foi legal, confesso.

Embora uma mistura de World of Warcraft com Guitar Hero provavelmente faria com que mundos colidissem e a nossa economia entrasse em recessão profunda, já que nenhum adolescente com computador voltaria a sair de casa...

Eu iria mencionar também a brincadeira do AGS, sofre como ele havia sido comprado pela Microsoft, se transformado no XNA Adventure Studio e teria seus jogos distribuídos via Steam, mas o site já voltou ao normal e eu nem tive tempo de tirar um print screen ;/

E aí? Mais alguém viu alguma brincadeira de 1o de abril que chegou a chamar a sua atenção?

EDITADO: Ok, o Destructoid, temporariamente chamado de FoxToid, com notícias como "Descoberto o paradeiro de Carmen San Diego", "Entrevista com Jack Thompson", eles merecem uma menção honrosa xD

La broma de Google y Richard Branson: Virgle se va a Marte

Hoy es April Fools, el dia de los Inocentes en version anglosajona, y Google se ha desatado para su broma, aliandose con Richard Branson, el millonario dueño de Virgin para contarnos que se quieren ir a Marte.

En efecto, han montado una empresa llamada Virgle, donde nos cuentan que en 2014 pretenden montar la primera colonia en Marte.

En la página hay forma de saber si puedes ser uno de los pioneros, ver el plan a 100 años que han ideado, e incluso apuntarse para la aventura.

Incluso puedes enviar un video a YouTube explicando porque debes ser uno de los elegidos.

En fin, que da gusto poder montar bromas asi... :)

Breaking News!! Space Camp Return Trip CRASHES!

As we have reported earlier, the space campers went way. But I regret to say, the return trip (on board the Airbus A321) has crashed midair to Qatar. There are unfortunately no survivers. Details are rare, but according to our in house pilot the crash was as a result of a static electricity surge. What does that mean I dunno. Please check the video for a detailed explanation. But for some reason I was able to make contact with a student via IM (our life) and she was fine. Authorities are still tracking that line, a potential beacon to lead us to the will trained survival space campers ~~yah right~~. We are really sad for Yousef ~~yah right again, only because he promised to write about it when he got back~~. As we must as assume that his moment came, I would like to pose a moment of silence for his brave soul.

i have been trying to talk to A since this morning but he seems to be so unreachable! for the uninitiated A is working and living away from us in the newly proclaimed 'city' in KT (well not so new now). after several unsuccessful tries, i decided an sms should suffice. and this was what sent to A.

"i was quite worried when i start gaining weight at an alarming rate for the past 6 weeks so i went for a checkup. and guess what? mak is not just getting 1 but 2 grandchildren this year! Congrats D (its not a typo error, that's what i call him and the meaning varies according to mood ) this is your belated birthday present. Call me.

an hour past and no calls and instead i received an sms from A that said

APRIL'S FOOL!

so instead of me april fooling him, the table was turned on me...duh

senyum bahagia keluarganya :) gadis yang kupikir siapapun yang mengenalnya pasti akan memiliki tekad yang sama... untuk melindungi dia dari tangis..

Tekad itu muncul padaku.. hmm..

Dari hari aku mengenal, jatuh cinta, dan tahu siapa dia.... aku berjanji sama dia untuk ga akan pernah membiarkan dia menangis :) dan akan selalu membuat dia tersenyum... naive kan? ah itu aku yang dulu.. waktu itu masih terlalu muda dan bodoh hehehe

Nothing happened actually. No server crashes, no wonky plug-ins, no screwed-up themes, everything's working just fine. Because I write from wordpress.COM in case you're wondering.
