There were a couple of guys, they were up to no good, started makin trouble in my neighbourhood, i got in one little fight and my mom got scared and she said: your moving with your uncle and auntie in bel-air! Das hab ich nie verstanden warum das "in bel-air" heisst und nicht "to bel-air". ACHSO! Ja jetzt is es mir klar! Weils ja auch "moving in" heisst! Hab ich wieder mal was gelernt! Egal. So, ich gehe jetzt entweder Animu schauen (Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Cromartie High School, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, etc etc.) oder schlafen.

So my mom came into my room while I was watching the last episode of DUB NOTE, aka SWIMMING LESSONS.

She came when it was near the end.

Basically, what she commented was:

LOL LOOK AT HIM RUNNING. OH LOOK I'M RUNNING AND THE ONLY THING THAT'S MOVING IS MY HAIR! OH GOD LOOK AT THAT EVIL GUY SITTING UP THERE. ARIGATOU, LIGHT, IT HASN'T BEEN FUN AT ALL, NOW GO BACK TO RUNNING. IS HE GOING TO BUMP INTO HIMSELF? NOW I'M GOING TO TAKE A NAP IN THE SUN. OOOH, DRAMATIC. HEY LOOK MUSTACHE GUY (She was referring to Aizawa)

HOLLY IS THIS THE ANIME STUFF YOU LIKE? ARE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE ON ANY OF YOUR ANIME POSTERS?

And then when the Venture Bros commercial came on she asked if I watched porno cartoons.

Hi. I'm a lifeform, which takes on the life of my own. I do stuff such as draw, hate, and sit.

Actually, I hate to hate people..

I also use double dots a lot as a substitute for '?'s and ellipses. It's not that I'm lazy, but it looks funnier or something..

I used to draw on MS Paint, but I've given up/retired from that. I might come back in 3 years like I did this year though..

Anywho, the title is supposed to be "Fandom", and the reason for that is what follows below.

Every time I watch something badass that's anime, I get crazy about it. However, the next time I watch something cool, I almost stop caring about what I liked before.

That being said, it seems I still like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain. Right now, my craze is aimed towards Cardcaptor Sakura. Hopefully it's something that will stick with me. This is actually a different case since I liked Cardcaptor Sakura ever since I watched the dub for it.

I even drew a picture of Lain rolf..

^This is the one I drew that took more time.

^This is the one I drew that took less time.

I like the Lain that took less time, even though it took me much longer to complete the one above.

This is what a non-fanart Lain looks like (Wow, massive picture of Lain. Oh well.).

I retired from paint to go onto Photoshop, and I'm thinking of drawing a super picture for CCS. So ye..

LAIN@@@@@@@@@

PRESENT DAY. PRESENT TIME. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. *Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttt*

Appypolly loggies, my brothers. I have not been writing out of pure laziness. And I'm sure that hasn't really affected my viewership, though I will admit my surprise to the fact that my "Don't hate me 'cause I'm emo" post has (as of 5 minutes ago, but unlikely to drastically change) 438 views.

I have been lazing about this summer, not really doing something or anything. Going to class and the like.

What I've done so far... Slack of... Oh, I've been catching up on some movies that I've not seen before! I watched Office Space and Howl's Moving Castle, both were excellent.

I also got through Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0. It keeps the feel of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion, in animation especially, but it seems to have changed a bit. Definitely parts of the plot are the same, but many things have been changed, e.g. the numbering of the first three Angels (and only, in this film) that appear. With the exception of Sachiel (who has always been a memorable Angel, what being the first and all), the Angels have really changed in terms of looks. One of my favourite Angels, Ramiel, has just gotten so much cooler. He was initially a giant blue octahedron that split open slightly to fire a big pew-pew laser, but it's just gotten SO MUCH COOLER.

For the first video, you might want to skip from 0:45 to 1:48, unless you want to hear a whiny Japanese boy in agony (if that's your thing, go ahead).

Second video, skip to 2:30 for the action. Pretty cool.

What's bugging me is Utada Hikaru's new single, "Beautiful World" (ending theme to Rebuild of Evangelion), and Kingdom Hearts. Yes, I know that she sang a song for Kingdom Hearts ("Simple and Clean", good song). But I've seen like 5 Youtube videos of Kingdom Hearts with "Beautiful World". It actually really bugs me. If I'm missing something here, please explain it to me. "Cruel Angel Thesis" is associated with Neon Genesis Evangelion and "I wanna be the very best" is associated with Pokemon. There aren't too many non-Asian examples I can cite here, but I hope my point gets across. I realize that this is a single not written specifically for the anime, but most theme songs are like that too.

Kinda inspired by wildarmsheero's post but I've been meaning to do this for a while since I just know people don't check my flickr account. I should just get rid of it since Wordpress allows more image space now. Anyway, as you can see a lot of my posters are from forever ago. I'm not really a poster person. I'd probably put stuff up if I had a regular subscription to Megami Magazine though.

I don't really have a lot of cool stuff since most of my money goes to figures, and I really only buy stuff when I'm in that nerdy buying mood. I'm not really into getting little accessories since they'd mostly get in the way. Not much of a illustration book person either. Oh well, I guess if you have any questions about stuff just ask.

Yes, the Aria wallpaper means I am an Aria fanboy now. Great show is grrrrrreat.

I've been going through all the episodes of Rozen Maiden for the first time. Mind, I'm not a huge anime fan, but I do go through my phases. This one in particular is the kind that I enjoy the most. It's the kind that you can watch brainlessly for hours and be thoroughly entertained. Unlike the case with shows like Lucky Star, I can stand to sit through more than one episode at the time. It's not exactly "The Twelve Kingdoms" in terms of quality and writing, but it's fun, entertaining, and only gets serious when necessary. It's rather easy to follow once you get into it; important plot points present themselves conservatively and clearly. Plus, a single episode gives you more Desu than you ever thought possible. The best thing I can say about it is that I didn't mind staying in for the day to mindlessly watch it. I'm not walking away from the television set wondering what the hell I was doing for the past few hours.

I'm finding it very difficult to push through these last few weeks of school. I'm lacking motivation even more than I was last quarter. And last quarter I was taking Ubiquitous Computing.

Attended by over 6,000 people each year, I-CON is a three day festival, designed to encourage literacy, creativity and interest in science and technology through science fiction and its related genres. Programming at I-CON spans a wide range of topics and interests, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, Japanese animation (otherwise known as Anime), science and technology, comic books, and medieval reenactment.

The only featured guests this year that I know are Ray Bradbury, Billy West (voice of Fry), the dude who was Darth Maul, and the black guy from Ghostbusters.

Even with my student discount, it's $48 for the three-day pass. One day ranges from $31-48 depending on the day.

Anyway, I'm looking at the schedule, and there's some potential gold here.

Webcomic: TwoKinds (http://www.2kinds.com)

I've seen a lot of webcomics in my time writing for this site. Reading through the archives of Lackadaisy Cats, Penny Arcade, Megatokyo, VGCats, and the like has given me a pretty good inkling of when the comic-like photons entering my eyeballs are good, and when they are really, really bad, and when they're somewhere in between. Even with this healthy webcomic knowledge, an appreciation for the artistic creativity which is melded into each and every webcomic that permeates our vast, teeming Internets, there are still webcomics so... "unique" and "avant-garde" and "extra-special" that, in many cases, it is impossible to define, or even attempt to explain, the creator's impulses.

TwoKinds is one of these webcomics. Now, this particular piece is made by an Asian man named Tom Fischbach, and, to commemorate his Asianness, his webcomic is all animu, all the time. For example, he has really child-looking twenty-four year old guys with no facial hair whatsoever, catgirls, wolf-girls, some human girls, and naturally the occasional awkward male nude scene for comic relief. (Also, to get a better idea of what Fischbach was thinking of when he drew that last nude panel, see here.) This is classic animu, and it fills me with pride to see an Asian man who lives in the United States use an Asian medium simply because he's Asian, and Asian things are intrinsically cool. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside that makes me vibrate uncontrollably as I clench my fists and scream at my computer screen. Can you feel that feeling? Yes, it's that same exact feeling you get when you see some random white dude wearing an Inuyasha T-shirt and eating pocky in your Computer Science class.

Impressively for a webcomic of this caliber, Fischbach's catgirls and wolf-girls are not your average, run of the mill wolf-girls and catgirls. In fact, they are actual cats and wolves, making this animu especially unique. For example, you have Natani, who is actually a wolf that looks like a girl, and Flora, who is actually a tiger that looks like a girl, kind of. In fact, they even have animal-like ages; the animal-girls in this webcomic really only live into their twenties, just like real tigers and wolves. This makes the alluded-to sex scenes between the animal-girl and random animu white dude Trace Legacy especially unique and avant-garde, in the same exact way that Mr. Hands was unique and avant-garde. People who say having sex with animals is wrong just need to grow the fuck up.

But I digress. Whenever this comic isn't smashing down barriers for anthropomorphic animal sex, it's bringing to the fore real-life (and highly intelligent!) themes of racial tolerance. As Fischbach puts it, "I was inspired to write Twokinds after having experienced a lot of racial discrimination from kids at my school, who were predominently white." As examples of the unique ways Fischbach's comic tackles racism, all of its human characters are white, while its Keidran animal people are slaves regarded as "savages" and its Basitin weird-thing people are all fastidious creatures who are willing to make huge sacrifices for their nation and their superiors. As Fischbach puts it in his "About TwoKinds" section,

Basitins are a little-known race of bipedal, long-eared, brown-furred, sentient animals. Unlike the other two races, the Basitins live off the mainland on a distant island-continent. Due to their isolation, they are often forgotten by the other two races and left to their own devices. They are a warrior race, with a society solely consisting of solders. They behave in a hive-like manner, following orders of superiors without question. They are usually even-tempered and disciplined.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the Basitin probably eat raw fish and rice and pronounce things with "r" sounds as "l's" and vice-versa and would probably even make highly reliable small cars and suicide-bomb the humans' naval warships with their highly-powerful aircraft if any of these things existed. And the Keidran probably like watermelons and fried chicken, according to Fischbach anyway. This is the kind of subtle racial message being sent by TwoKinds. To add to this message, all of the Keidrans are moved about in slave-ships and have their villages destroyed by the "baka gaijin roundeye" humans.

Being the racially-sensitive, open-minded guy Fischbach is, he knows that black people who were slaves eventually grew to love their masters. This is why all the Keidran slaves he has in his comic love their masters, too.

"Her parents were killed and she was sold into slavery. Flora was lucky enough to be purchased by a friendly human family, who treated her more like a daughter then a slave. Thus, Flora recalls her days of slavery with an unusual fondness." (Source: Characters page at 2kinds.com)

"Kathrin was selectively bred from several generations of Keidran slaves in order to be more physically appealing to humans. Ironically, despite being designed to be a sex slave, Kathrin is incredibly naive when it comes to sex. Eric gives her much more freedom than his other slaves, but she genuinely enjoys serving him." (Source: Characters page at 2kinds.com)

Clearly, Tom Fischbach knows a lot about slavery.

Of course, webcomics are supposed to be fun, and Fischbach makes certain that, if you love gender-changing, tranforming, anthropomorphic animals, you'll love TwoKinds. Two of his main characters are transsexuals. Most of the animal characters are female, and they're almost always naked (and they love being naked, and they talk about how absolutely naked they are, all the time!) How truly wonderful it is for Fischbach's animals to be naked and free, and to have the ability to talk to, and have sex with, humans.

You can tell Fischbach and his fans are happy about this too. Because, after you're finished with reading TwoKinds, you can get a DeviantArt account and check out his absolutely stunning characters in erotic poses! I've listed just a few below:

http://twokinds.deviantart.com/art/Nekked-Euchre-wolf-style-32387478

http://twokinds.deviantart.com/art/Getting-into-Flora-s-pants-47947055

http://twokinds.deviantart.com/art/Snake-Lady-46189197

Clearly, Fischbach knows sex. And so does his cat, whose name is, I'm guessing, Flora. And, as you might expect, he has a huge fanbase that just loves his deviant art and furry comic. The critics rave!

"graphically stunning! story seems a tad slow but that might come from reading 1 page a week tops." --robinmdh

"YIFF IN HELL FURFAGS" --xsutures

"That was quite possibly the most moronic thing anyone has ever said XSutures. Anyway, it's a great comic, I really recommend you read it." --darwin2k

"Please disregard LuigiM's comment, as it's obvious that he hasn't actually read the comic." --Annath32

"I thought there was only one sex scene. . . and it only lasted 1 or 2 panels. You can not compare Two Kinds to porn, that is simply ridiculous. By the way, just because it has furries in it does not make it horrible, to be honest, I f**king hate furries. Not the animated ones, but the human obsessed creeps who think it's a life-style." --Neoscryer

"I have never seen a single furry comic with this much sex in it. This literally has more sex, more nudity, more sex scenes, more suggestive dialogue, and more transgender/transspecies/anthropomorphic bestiality porn than any other non-pornographic furry comic I have ever seen. It is a furry comic, it is a terrible animu comic, and it sucks." --LuigiM

Just look at who likes it!

So, as you can see, there's no reason not to like TwoKinds. It's the most avant-garde webcomic on the Internet! I've never seen a comic with plotline and writing and sexuality of this caliber with such wonderful art. So check out TwoKinds today!

Mr. Hands will be joining you, by the way.

After ARCHcon2007, here comes another anime convention which is going to be held in Cebu. I would like to note everyone that this is still the 2nd organization who decided to organize an anime event here in Cebu, and is currently on their first year.

Honestly, I've never been to an anime convention since it's quite rare to have such an event here. Although I've heard that ARCHcon started last 2004 but I've only heard about them around late October 2007 while they were advertising for their latest anime convention held last November 18, 2007 at the old Sacred Heart School Jesuit Building. I let the opportunity pass since it's more like a hobbies convention rather than a convention solely for anime.

Now, here comes Otaku Fest organized by an anime org from UP Cebu. I immediately got interested because of their Photography competition. When I entered the Sinulog Photo Contest, I realized that I'm still bad with portraits and human interest. So, I thought about it and realized that maybe I should start practicing here. Doesn't exercising our weakness overcomes our insecurities? Right, and this time, I actually had the courage to just go on and just wanna take lot's of pictures without worrying about how the photo may look like and other stuff.

There's a little problem though, it's going to be held on a Saturday which my TV Arts laboratory class falls in the morning while my Layouting class falls at 3pm. So basically, I only have a 3 hour break if I don't wanna miss my classes. Of course, it's easy to just ditch the class and go to the convention but it seems like it's going to be harder than I thought since last Saturday, I didn't go to my morning class since we were filming a short film for the school and we're going to continue by next Saturday. I'm not even sure if we can actually finish it by that time. And yeah, I mentioned that we're going to continue it by next Saturday so that would mean that I won't be able to attend my morning classes again! So by February 9, I no longer have the excuse to be absent. But I really really want to attend the event, I wanna take pictures and more pictures. That's the only thing that occupies my mind right now.

Here are the mechanics by the way:

Photography:

1.)The competition is open to all interested individuals. Registration is at the venue itself.
2.)Photographs taken must be from the event itself, of any theme (i.e. Portrait, Human Interest, etc)
3.)Photographs are to be submitted on or before 2:30 PM of February 9. 5r size*
4.)Photographers may submit a maximum of 3 entries.
5.)Criteria for judging are:
50% content
50% composition

Now, another problem is, if I were to enter the competition then I'd have to hurry and print the photos before 2:30pm, that's just ridiculous (I'm sorry if anyone's offended by this), so estimating that the convention will open at 10pm (as what I've read from the previous posts at Istorya.net), I only have roughly 4 hours and 30 minutes to take pictures and have them printed, and not to mention that break weren't even counted. But anyway, I'm not looking forward for the contest anyway, I just wanna take pics and that's just it. If it's allowed to take pics without joining the contest and I'm in!

Plot Summary: The anime revolves around two protagonists, Hirono Hiro and Asou Renji. On Christmas Eve, Hirono Hiro meets a girl named Miyamura Miyako who was chasing a purse snatcher. Hiro later finds out that Miyako also goes to the same school as he does and they start hanging out together. This made Hiro's childhood friend, Shindou Kei, feel left out. Kei then tries to compete with Miyako for Hiro's affection and a love triangle ensues. The anime also tells the story of Asou Renji. Renji meets a girl named Shindou Chihiro at an abandoned train station. He soon learns that Chihiro suffers from a type of amnesia where her memory span only lasts for 13 hours. He also discovers Chihiro's dream of writing a novel, but she has never been able to fulfill that dream due to her condition. Renji then decides to help her fulfill that dream.

Story: It's a two-way story on 2 different guys, one involves a love triangle and the other had problems on their own. Think the story isn't too original? Better think twice. Although the story isn't that common, we've seen it a few times on several movies and some TV drama but this one primarily focuses on one thing, MEMORIES. It was conveyed that memories could cause sadness, despair, loneliness, heartbreak and helplessness, but there isn't a reason to stop and carry the pain for the rest of your life. The first episode may be utterly confusing, I personally didn't like it at first because I wasn't able to understand the whole thing, but once you've clearly got a good grasp on the concept, it's fairly easier to predict and you'll just leave that right there and focus how your emotions will react while watching from one episode to another. Other than that, the series was very well planned that you can't find any holes in the story.

Animation: Stunningly beautiful! This is the anime where creativity was applied to it's fullest. As the mood of the story shifts, so is the animation. The animation here doesn't define how vivid it was or how it has good perspectives but rather they mainly use still images and make use of colors as a primary spice on the viewer's eyes. The animation signifies every mood of the story that will make the viewer's emotions go with it. The animation as well gives the impression of the character's inner desires in a psychological point of view. It was clearly presented in the animation how the characters were feeling that you don't really need to hear any narration or talks just to understand it. It was presented in such a unique concept that seems completely new to Japanese Animation.

Sound: The sound goes fairly well with the animation. It helps to illustrate and build the tension that the animation brought. Not much to say about this.

Character: The characters were very well developed and well defined as it goes with the story. With them struggling with their frustrations and some psychological issues, you could see how much they've evolved in just 12 episodes and it doesn't seemed rushed at all. The development was mixed fluidly all throughout.

Enjoyment: Definitely worth a perfect score, writing a review isn't really my thing, but after I gave the last 4 episodes a marathon last night, I felt that it's unjust if I won't give a review at all. I felt ashamed that I opt to halt watching this until the next summer break, I could have missed a once in a lifetime anime. And not to mention that I already started to cry before a minute passed when I started with episode 9 last night. My tears fell nonstop until the very last minute of the final episode.

I just finished watching it earlier and I was disappointed more than I expected. My computer stayed up all night struggling to download a 1.45gb file at an average speed of 45kbps and this is what I get :(

I was well aware that the Death Note Special wasn't really something to look out for, I mean, I've already known 98% of it was a recap but I thought it was worth it.. well unfortunately, it's not. Guess this will serve as a consolation and an added junk to my collection.

Some screenshots from the Death Note's Special

So basically, it's a recap covering the L's Arc, from the part where Light found the Death Note until L's death... everything squashed in 2 hours. It was said to be Ryuk's own perspective, what difference does it make? That.. I don't know since I skipped from scene to scene.

The only fresh scenes was the 2 minute start where another shinigami was bored and decided to meet with Ryuk to ask about how he was able to do something interesting in the human world.. there, Ryuk began to tell the story and shifts to the recap for around 2 hours or so.

After the death of L, another fresh scene at the cemetery. Ok, the only good part I've found here was Light's laugh. His freaky laugh still sounds new to me.

After the very long wait, the Death Note Special was finally released by Kuro-Hana after four months

After the very long wait, the Death Note Special was finally released by Kuro-Hana after four months prior to it's announcement that they're going to release it 2-3 days after it was aired. It was previously subbed by Cornbreadman but not many were pleased by their misspelling words, very bad grammar and very bad video quality. Now that Kuro-Hana released a decent (I haven't watch it yet but I'm 100% sure it's way better than the previous sub released) sub, nothing else could satisfy the Death Note fans.

Death Note Special Information
The upcoming Death Note special broadcast, which was announced during the last episode of the animated suspense television series, will be a three-hour Death Note Director’s Cut: Compete Ending Edition special that airs at 8:03 p.m. on August 31 on Japan’s NTV. It will mainly be a compilation of the confrontations between the vigilante Light and the detective L, re-edited from the perspective of Light’s Shinigami (God of Death) Ryuk. All-new dialogue and soundtrack will be recorded, and scenes will have additional animation that could not be included in the original series.

Ayakashi

Ayakashi

Adapted from the 2005 adults-only superhuman battle action visual novel game Ayakashi. Ayakashi is a parasite life force that gives superpowers to its host, taking in return the host's entire life force. Kusaka Yuu is a student that lost his will to live after the death of a dear childhood friend, until the day a mysterious girl, named Yoake Eimu, appears. From that moment on, his life would never be the same again. Hunted by Ayakashi and their hosts, the power within Yuu awakens and a never ending battle begins.

I heard the animation and the story was bad but I guess I'll give it a try. The trailer itself captivated me and turned me off at the same time. It looks like Night Wizard from the Fall '07 anime which I haven't finished yet.. but anyway, as long as there's a supernatural feel on it, I'm willing to give it a try.

Persona -Trinity Soul-

The story takes place in Ayanagi City facing the Sea of Japan, a futuristic city recovering from the “Simultaneous Multiple Languish Syndrome” ten years after the events of Persona 3. Kazato Shin, a high school student and his little brother Jun met up with their brother Ryo who is the chief investigator in the police force. Lately, strange events such as sudden disappearances started to occur. The syndrome, a situation where students are killed and turned into stone figures, is reviving. As Shin stumbles onto this phenomena, he releases a persona, a manifestation of his powers. What is this persona?

True Tears

Dreams, hopes, and aspirations are things that all people draw their visions of what the “future” may hold for them. This game adaptation (though having absolutely nothing to do with the game) talks about secrets and dreams, and how your choices will close up the hearts of the girls.

OMG! I absolutely love the song. And not to mention I'm a sucker for animes about dreams and romance... somehow it also reminds me of Kimikiss.

A story about a miracle, involving Fumika, a quiet but hard working girl who wears a uniform of a mail carrier, and her talkative staff and partner Mayama. The Shigofumi is a posthumous letter, the last resort of relaying a deceased person`s last message to his/her loved ones: family, friends, and significant other.

Minami-ke is a manga following three sisters, Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki in their lives at home and school. It’s a funny series that depicts how these characters interact with each other and their classmates. It’s a story about ordinary girls and their ordinary adventures told in an extraordinary manner. This is a different take with Kana as the youngest sister, and Chiaki the middle sister.

I love Minami-ke, although it had a different studio and and had a different take... Kana as the younger sister? o.O ... lol, I can't wait to watch it. I still like the animation better of the former anime though.

Okami to Koshinryo

The peddler Craft Lorence travels through the world selling all kinds of things. During a festival in a small town he gets into trouble and has to flee with a hay wagon. After traveling a safe distance he discovers a sleeping girl under the hay. She has wolf ears and a tail. The wolf girl explains that she has been called a "God" but her name really is Howl and nothing else. Lorence teases the girl a little, but after hearing more of her story is moved and decides to accompany her further north. On their travels the two have all sorts of adventures & often get into (money) trouble but slowly the bond between them grows stronger.

Due to poor grades, Tsukune Aono, an average high school student, has been unable to get accepted into any private academy of his choice. By some freak accident, he was accepted to a school. However, the school was occupied by monsters disguised as humans. When he realized this, he tried to flee from the school only to meet Moka Akashiya, a beautiful vampire lady. Tsukune, due to circumstances, decided to stay at the academy and tried to hide his secret that he is a human. Tsukune also found out that the removal of the rosary that Moka wears will cause her true nature to appear.

Hirose Takuma has been traumatized by the death of his mother during his childhood years. He eventually transfered to the school in his mother’s home town in order to recover. It is there he met with three particularly strange girls. They include Kohinata Hayam, a girl who rejects any contact with other students. Kagura Hinata is a class leader who is kind but a little careless. The third girl is Otoha, an energetic girl who named herself a “fairy of time and sound”. Hirose Takuma, was traumatized by the death of his mother during his childhood. As he continued his school experience, Takuma tried to start afresh with his life, but with bullies like Tabata Yui and the past events haunting him, things look to be extremely complicated.

With slice of life comedy anime becoming more popular in the anime industry, here comes another light-hearted anime that will surely crack the audience without any obvious exaggerations. Truly a magnificent work adapted from the manga of the same title by Coharu Sakuraba.

In order to spread the love of such a magnificent series, I've decided to introduce this to you dear readers. As what is stated in the tagline, there's no specific plot in this anime but rather, it only focuses on the everyday life of the three Minami sisters. If you think it's another one of Lucky Star, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Azumanga Daioh and the likes, you're not mistaken. Not really surprising ei? Well, for someone like me who _ dislikes Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and the likes, this one really caught my attention

MY CONCLUSION

Local TV Category, obviously it clearly shows that ABS-CBN had a better performance this year as far as anime is concerned. With Eyeshield 21 as the Gold Anime of the Year, Gundam Seed Destiny as the Silver Anime of the Year and School Rumble as the Teen/Drama Anime of the Year. GMA only got Pokemon as the Bronze Anime of the Year, GTO live as Live Action Series of the Year.

I don't really see why die-hard GMA lovers continue to despise any anime from ABS-CBN when they clearly show good animes. C'mon, if those people actually what they claim to be, an "ANIME OTAKU" then they shouldn't outdistance themselves just because a certain anime wasn't aired from their "favorite" channel. There goes my rant, I'm just tired seeing people devastate a certain anime for the reason that it was aired on the other channel. Please, if you are that kind of person, please don't call yourself an Anime Fan, your judgement are clearly biased on your fave network's sake and not for ANIME's sake.

Cable TV Category, I'm not one to judge since I've never seen any anime coming from a Cable Channel except from Cartoon Network.. e.g. Pokemon o.O

Miscellaneous Category, once again, I don't see why Lucky Star became a phenomenon. How can random, plot-less anime could make a mark on Anime History? And not to mention, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei came in second under Japan's New Title. Tell me!!! Where is today's level of quality at? ROFL at Keroro Gunsou being the Most Screwed Anime Series of the year. I don't really care though since I've never watch it in the first place.

Popularity Category, now this is the part where we'll see what anime really became popular. In my early years when I could only rely on anime aired on Local TVs, I could often see some cheap collectibles on those popular anime on the streets, market, malls etc. Surprisingly, I don't really see it often anymore, anime have ceased on the streets and markets. I could only find some collectibles around the mall and most of them were from old-school mecha animes, from Dragon Ball Z and some newer pang-masa anime like Naruto, Bleach and Death Note. I've always thought that Bleach will eventually be a big hit here in the Philippines just like the Yuu Yuu Hakusho days, but boy was I wrong. Probably one of the reasons why Bleach didn't really make it big here in the Philippines was probably because most of the anime enthusiasts have already seen it on the net. But being a "pang-masa" anime, I don't see any reason why it won't click to the younger audience or to any fans who could only rely on Local TV Animes. Surprisingly, Naruto somehow made it's mark for the kids. When I'd lurk around some Philippine Anime forums, Naruto was never forgotten by most and remained memorable compared to their take on Bleach... why?

Anyway, moving on to the ones who sat on the throne, I personally agree that Carlo Christopher Caling who voiced Hiruma on Eyeshield 21 being the Male Anime Dubber of the Year. No questions asked. It's amazing how he was able to portray Hiruma's character so well. Indeed the best one I've heard this year. Kudos to Marky Cielo being the Celebrity Anime Dubber of the Year, although not that impressive, he was able to improve so much in such a short period of time. And of course, no wonder why Eyeshield 21 had the best dub I've heard this year along, Bernie Malejana won with a whooping 43.90% compared to it's contenders: Pocholo Gonzales (Ursula's Kiss) with 23.58%, Roni Abario (The Law of Ueki) with 18.70% and lastly Jing Lanzona (Bleach) with 13.82%. I've already expected Bleach being the last. It has the most fucked-up dubbing on GMA's pang-masa anime lineup history.

Finally, the last category, this was actually part of the Local TV Category, Cable TV Category and the Miscellaneous Category but since there was a separate video for it, I decided to also separate it here. Obviously ABS-CBN won hands down thanks to Eyeshield 21, School Rumble primarily.

ABS-CBN 2 67.93%

QTV 11 22.83%

GMA 7 8.70%

Studio 23 1.09%

See the difference on the results? ABS CBN was 3 times higher than the 2nd contender. Indeed QTV did deserve the spot, they've also shown some good animes although not as good as they had last year.. GMA came in 3rd with only 8.70%. Shocking! ~not! I'm not mocking GMA here and I'm not a fan of either station, just showing how bad GMA's performance with anime, yeah, you read it right, only on anime. I don't give a damn on those dramas and any other shows they had. Wake up GMA! Please!!!! Anyway Studio 23 came out last with 1.09%... wait? did they actually show some anime? Nuff said~
