Malaysia Oh Malaysia… People Oh People
A country full of drama… Top leaders in a final b

Malaysia Oh Malaysia... People Oh People

A country full of drama... Top leaders in a final battle for the Numero Uno post in Malaysia..or actually is should be transfered smoothly by June 2010... but some people feel, its too long. It might happen earlier before or by Mac 2009.

In the mean time Political party in Malaysia, PKR (Pakatan Keadilan Rakyat) group is trying to topple the ruling government in other ways than election. They are going for the ruling members cross over to win the government.. THE QUESTION IS THIS DEMOCRATIC... or this is due to power hunger. Why can they perform their work in Parlimen and wait until the next election. I SENSE THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG HERE.... and all this happen since Anwar was release...

Nobody is PERFECT ...Today many people seems to express their hatred towards Tun Mahathir. What has he done bad and what good has he put into Malaysia and along the 22 years he is in power until this present time...YOU as a Malaysia... what is your position today in terms of economy, education, technology etc. Are you in a worse or better position. For those who hate him before or hate him more today can you TELL ME WHO WOULD BE A BETTER PRIME MINISTER DURING HIS 22 YEARS BEING THE COUNTRY CEO....

So for today... Abdullah in that position... BN won the max in 2004 and lost the max in 2008 election... so he has taken only one term to do this... i think here the answer is simple and straight forward, he failed and he have to go... So as per current government they need a new leader within the party, which would be the new UMNO president. So let UMNO people do this and BN component party to show their acceptance.

If you think Anwar should be the next prime minister, i think maybe not now... he should fight for this in the next election... is Anwar angel..defineately not.. so does other leaders in UMNO or BN, in fact nobody is angel...... but look....are we a democratic country or we are just feel like fighting because we have a spirit for it...and you think Anwar is your future leader, why not Najib, Muhiddin, Tengku Razaleigh etc... whats so right about Anwar and wrong about the rest...

Personal Agenda......Personal Gain. Well frankly speaking if we are human being we are bound to have a tiny weeny of this character... wouldnt you help your family and friends in distress first from the rest... well if you dont do this, maybe you are a better person than Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Dont you think then non-angel Anwar has filled his cronies pockets during he is in power as the finance minister. Sorry i dont have time to waste to look for black and white proof.

So back to my question....WHAT DO PEOPLE WANT

1. Quality of Life & Happiness followed by bla bla bla and the rest..................

....which would be a good leader, law and order, harmony, justice etc...

What would give you a good quality of life? Well you might start with a good health and a stable economy if i might not be wrong. Well to get a good health, i think everyone know how to achieve this and it all depends on your attitude in satisfying this needs. Well next would be the economy... sufficient income from salary or business... there would be the micro and the macro of the economy, be it for the family or the country but the real effects for us as the citizen of Malaysia would be generally how the country performed in the world market and the strength of our currency. How the country performed then would be to how stable is our country. Well for those intelligent people i think you know where i m heading..... anyway to simplify this ...lets put a temporary pause to political war and lets those who won the last election work on administrating the country and those on the opposition work in the Parlimen at theit best. If after election the political fight continues on and on... when would the ruling government have time to work.......let the politics starts again lets say another 2 years before the next election. Do you want us to be like our neighbour Siam, Pakistan and some of those African countries that go on and fighting for power and no one to really look after the development of the country........ or maybe somebody had a quality of life already and have nothing better to do....

Abraham Lincoln once said - “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power”.

So to the opposition friends...power already given to you in Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kelantan and Kedah. Well proof your performance. If you do well you shouldnt worry about next election... but if you fail you know the consequenses.

Supreme Council meets today on power transfer

KUALA LUMPUR:
The Umno supreme council meets in emergency session today to again thrash out the leadership transition plan, including the possibility of postponing the December party elections.

Supreme council members were notified by party headquarters around noon yesterday as speculation grew that changes could be made to the scheduled transfer of power between Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

There is no fixed agenda but members contacted said the council was expected to discuss the transition and find a resolution to the doubts hanging over the plan.

Najib, the deputy Umno president, yesterday gave a hint of what was to come when he disclosed that the meeting would be held today.

On Tuesday, he had cancelled his attendance at the United Nations General Assembly in New York just hours before he was due to depart.
"Political questions will be answered tomorrow," he said yesterday without wanting to be drawn further into the nature of the meeting.

In recent days, Umno appeared to be torn between two views of the transition plan first outlined by Abdullah in July.

One view is for the party to stick to the plan while the other sees Abdullah leaving office sooner than the June 2010 deadline initially agreed on.

Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, a council member, said yesterday the meeting would most likely try to find a middle way between the two views.

"I believe the meeting will come to some kind of compromise. I believe, to accommodate both views, we will most likely cancel the coming December party elections."

Postponement is possible as the party has until next June to conduct the elections.

The party elections were supposed to have been held last year but the supreme council decided to put them off in order to focus on the general election.

Nazri said postponing the December elections would not be a problem as it would allow matters to cool off for a few months before office-bearers were chosen.

He said a postponement was the most realistic option.

However, councillor Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad is not happy with any arrangement that allows elections to be postponed.

He said the decision should be left to the party grassroots.

"We should leave it to them. Moreover, everyone has been preparing for December."

Wanita chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz said the wing had long decided that any transition plan for the president's post should be left to Abdullah and Najib.

"Wanita Umno will support any decision made by them on the plan.

"All we ask is that the decision take into account the role to be played by Umno, the future of the party and the country, and the image of the leaders."

Tan Sri Annuar Musa said it was not right to speculate about today's meeting.

"The supreme council will deliberate. It will be a final solution not just for the transition plan but what is best for our recovery," Annuar said.

Other members who spoke anonymously said the party also needed to hold the meeting quickly as council members would be busy with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations next week .

"Umno members will be going to the open house hosted by menteris besar and party leaders. They will want answers.

"This is our last chance to sort this out before the festivities and division meetings begin on Oct 9," said a supreme councillor.

Another member said the meeting would not just resolve the transition plan but could also determine if the division meetings would be carried forward.

SHAHRUL PESHAWAR - UMNO is getting nearer to the end and definately it is not a happy ending.

The frantic refreshing of Malaysiakini.com and The Star have abated, Anwar, Najib and Abdullah have long been banished from the front pages (and now even made their way into the World section) of Singaporean newspapers, and the only thing I look forward in mid-October is (hopefully, cross fingers) new Macbooks.

To be perfectly honest, I think Anwar Ibrahim is bluffing. Sure, there must be some defections, but perhaps not more than 31. And then again, Abdullah not daring to call on Anwar's bluff (yeah, he won't release names, as if the Special Branch detained a MP in the past few days or so... wait a minute).

In related news, I've lost most of my youthful confidence and idealism in democracy. People are stupid. Stupid people vote for slightly less, but still overwhelmingly, stupid people. Said stupid people make short-term decisions like bailing out AIG. That, and insidious PAP influence on my thinking. Maybe Malaysians needs a Lee Kuan Yew.

- BERMAMAI

I got this one from Rocky Bru.
Rocky

This may be old news but I'm wondering why only act now?

I got this one from Rocky Bru.

Rocky reports that blogger Sheih Kickdefella had been arrested in Kota Bharu, Kelantan under the Sedition Act. Rocky says that Sheih already knew he would be taken in:

Sheih told me last night he was told the police were looking for him. "Someone who claimed to be a cop came to the office. I missed them by a whisker".

He said he was not going to run from the law. "If they ask me to go to the police station, I will go."

Nuraina Samad spoke to Sheih's wife Bariah Ishak after he was detained:

"He just wanted to get it over and done with.. he was just so tired," Bariah told me (over the phone) this evening.

The policemen were nice enough to "play along" with Sheih and Bariah when they told their four children that he was going to KL for work.

Malaysiakini reports that:

In a posting on his blog dated Aug 23, Syed Azidi (under the title 'Siasat Kickdefella Dibawah Akta Hasutan') had written that a pro-Umno website by a minister was calling for him to be investigated under the Sedition Act.

This is because Sheih had wrote in his blog that he was raising the Malaysian flag upside down as a "sign of distress." (See wikipedia for confirmation)

However, this had provoked the PM to respond with:

"This is uncouth behaviour, showing no respect at all for the national flag. What is there to be angry with the Malaysian flag?" he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

"If there are Malaysians who want to take up the idea that came from the pro-opposition blogger, they are insulting this important national symbol (flag)," he added.

http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/88186

Sheih's post was made quite a while ago, so why only act and arrest him now? Is the embattled PM trying to assert some authority to show that he is in control? After all, there are some speculations that the PM's position has weakened while the DPM's hand has strengthened with the PM relinquishing the Finance Minister's post to his Deputy and taking up the latter's Defence Ministry portfolio.

With the exchange, the PM is now in control of the Army and the Police (via his close ally, the Home Minister)

While we're on the topic of arrests, is the PM hinting that he may act soon against on the Opposition leader? He had described Anwar as a “threat to the country’s economy as well as a possible threat to (national) security”?

Quoting RPK from his infamous article that is said to be the reason he is arrested under ISA:
Malays

Quoting RPK from his infamous article that is said to be the reason he is arrested under ISA:

Malays say that there are two types of bodoh. One is bodoh sepat -- you pretend to be stupid but are actually very devious. Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would probably fit this bill. He pretends to be bodoh but is actually very crafty. The second is bodoh sombong -- you are actually very stupid but are too stupid to realise that you are stupid and think you are very clever.

Judging from the latest scenario today, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is bodoh sepat. 'Sepat' is a fresh water fish famous for its refusal to be baited in the saying: "bodoh-bodoh sepat, tak makan pancing emas" which means even a dumb person knows how to choose what is best for himself. So a person who appears to be as "dumb" as a sepat, pretends to be stupid.

Why the portfolio swapping? Why the timing? Another coincidence? Screw coincidence. Nothing that is happening in Malaysia before, present and after this is 'coincidence' despite what our leaders want us to think. Things in Malaysia happen because of only 2 reason - God's will and politically motivated. (You can ignore the 1st reason, just like me unless you are Palin's fan)

Why Abdullah wants the Defence Ministry portfolio? Is him preparing for something bigger? You know what I I am thinking, stop being bodoh sepat.

Why Abdullah is bodoh sepat? 2 scenarios.

Abdullah as the bad guy, the villain.

1. In this kind of economic situation, giving the Finance Ministry portfolio to Najib is definitely a smart move. Najib is left to battle the ailing economy, a tall order. Good luck Najib.

2. He successfully nullified the dissent voices in UMNO by reaffirming the 2010 power transition plan.

3. Najib may not survive his political career until 2010 with all the allegations and now add to that now, an unenviable assignment. He knows jack shit about finance, just looking at the all the purchases he did while he was defence minister, 'consultancy fees' paid to Razak Baginda's company in the amount of RM500mil (a world record for such consultancy service) you know how good Najib with money.

4. If rumours of Najib cahooting with Syed Hamid is true, with the backing of the army to do... well things is true, then now Abdullah already took care of that. Najib is paralysed.

5. Abdullah hinted to use ISA against Anwar, well if Anwar doesn't has the number then why the need to ISA him?

Putting this all in pieces, now Abdullah is taking control of the Defense Ministry, which can be used to take control of defence for emergency rule and crowd dispersal control he is definitely stocking himself with enough ammo to battle it out, nasty and dirty.

Abdullah is the good guy, the unsung hero. The Oracle?

Then we must assume he is trying to help Anwar.

1. He set Anwar free and his son in law arranged passport for Anwar to go to Europe for medical treatment.

2. He is a man of conscience, being an ulama son and god fearing person. He never sumpah like Najib, Saiful or Ezam.

3. He needs to be in control in order to dismantle the rotten corrupted UMNO, sissified MCA, Gerakan, clueless and hopeless MIC and other idiotic BN component parties. So he stays in power, flip flop flip flop and play bodoh sepat until Anwar has the time to make his move. He is delaying and buying time for Anwar.

4. Anwar asked for peaceful transition of power. Who is going to lose everything? Person with the most dirts and extra baggage, non other but Najib. The person that will never agree to a peaceful power transition is Najib. So in order to have a peaceful power transition, Abdullah need to take away the defence job from Najib so he will not repeat what his dad did back then. Now Najib is powerless. Hurray!!

5. Then peaceful transition can be done. Abdullah will step down gracefully and be remembered in history and the most kind leader, sacrificing himself for the good of Malaysia.

6. Anwar leads the country and Malaysians live happily ever after.

Well, probably above scenarios are nothing but craps, I am reading too much into this shit and Abdullah is nothing but a nyanyuk (dementia) old man clutching at straws, doing senseless things before he is gone for good.

ps: Thanks to Malaysia Today commentators for inspiring me to come up with this shitty post.

pss: Najib is kinda dungu to agree to the portfolio swap then. Maybe the prospect of earning quick buck from the Finance Ministry clouded his judgement? Maybe bad advice from a certain plastic reinforced lady? We never know...

Updated 5.10pm:

SAPP pulls out from Barisan. The timing cannot be better??? Just after the portfolio swap, this took place?? Pak Lah, you are really our unsung hero, eh?

Abdullah recently asked a question in our Blog Forum about how to add a Google Picasa Web Album Slid

Abdullah recently asked a question in our Blog Forum about how to add a Google Picasa Web Album Slideshow to his blog. This was a great question so I thought other people would be interested in how to do it as well.

Picasa is a free photo management product by Google that I actually use for all my photos. The software organizes and can adjust your photo albums on your computer and then easily uploads them to your Picasa account. I love the ability to quickly upload pictures from my trips, etc and just send the url to my friends and family.

So if you already have a Picasa account and have pictures you’d like to include on your blog, you should check out this widget. If you don’t have Picasa yet, I highly recommend you download it for free by clicking on the link below.

After you select the photo album and settings you want to use, it gives you some code to paste into your site. You can either paste it into your post or add it to your sidebar by creating an html/javascript widget. Then just paste the code into the widget and save.

Here’s a screenshot of the widget being setup:

Notice how easy the setup process is. It provides the code to paste into your blog and then you’ll have a flash slideshow rotating through all your photos! Pretty cool. I was going to include a working demo but once you login to your account and start building a slideshow, it shows you real-time how it works. It’s worth checking out….enjoy!

Update 6.30pm

Pls send this message via SMS to all your friends around Malaysia. And yes, let's all turn up to show our solidarity with RPK. What better day than Malaysia Day.

“RPK di-tahan bawah ISA. Sebagai tanda bersatu hati, anda di-jemput menghadiri perhimpunan di-stadium Kelana Jaya pada 8 mlm 15hb Sept 2008. Sila edarkan”

‘RPK detained under ISA. Pls come to Kelana Jaya Stadium 8pm 15th September, 2008 to show solidarity for RPK’.
-------------------

So this is what old Shaziman meant when he said there are "harsher" laws to deal with the websites who criticise it. Yesterday, the Cabinet issued a directive to MCMC to unblock access to online socio-political portal Malaysia Today.

According to Malaysiakini, Raja Petra Kamarudin got arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) at 1.10 pm today.

RPK, seen here with wife Marina.

Raja Petra is considered a threat to national security while a loose cannon like Ahmad Ismail and his like are given a slap on the wrist.

I think the government are grossly underestimating the people. They got this guy to the police station, questioned him on all kinda things...but could not find anything to properly charge him in a court of law, and so haled him up under one of the few laws that allow for DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL.

Listen Malaysians, every time one of us is detained under ISA it is a violation of our fundamental right as human beings.

Last year it was the HINDRAF boys, this time, it is RPK, tomorrow it could be me, or you.

So, make your stand people. Say no to a police state. Say no to a bully government.

Watch what RPK said after a visit to your friendly neighbourhood police headquarters, here.

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) -- Thousands of Armenians lined the streets of the capital Yerevan Saturday, protesting the Turkish president who drove past in the first ever visit by a Turkish leader. Many held placards demanding justice for massacres that took place nearly 100 years ago.

Abdullah Gul arrived in Armenia to watch a Turkey vs. Armenia football World Cup qualifier game with President Serge Sarkisian that many hope will help the two countries overcome decades of antagonism rooted in Ottoman-era massacres of Armenians.

Gul is the first Turkish leader to set foot in Armenia since the ex-Soviet nation declared independence in 1991. The two neighbors have no diplomatic ties and their border has been closed since 1993.

Historians estimate up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed by Ottoman Turks around the time of World War I, an event widely viewed by genocide scholars as the first genocide of the 20th century. Turkey, however, denies the deaths constituted genocide, saying the toll has been inflated and those killed were victims of civil war and unrest.

Ties have also suffered from Turkey's opposition to Armenia's occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, a close Turkish ally.

As Gul left the airport, the presidential motorcade drove along streets lined with thousands of people holding up placards, mostly in English and Armenian, that read: "We want justice," "Turk admit your guilt," and "1915 never again."

Others held up names of places in Turkey from which their ancestors were forced to leave as the Ottoman Empire uprooted Armenian communities between 1915 and 1922.

Little progress is expected on the genocide issue or on Nagorno-Karabakh when Gul meets Sarkisian for talks just before the game -- which Turkey is favored to win.

Still, the visit is a sign of a diplomatic thaw.

"I hope that (the visit) will help lift the obstacles that stand in the way of rapprochement between the two peoples and contribute to regional friendship and peace," Gul said before his departure.

Gul's decision to accept Armenia's invitation to the match is linked to Turkey's desire to carve out a regional peacemaker role amid tensions sparked by Russia's invasion of neighboring Georgia.

Turkey, a NATO member, has cause for alarm about how Russia's recognition of the Georgian breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia might inspire its own separatist Kurds, or provoke Armenia to boost support for separatists in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In the wake of the Georgia conflict, Turkey proposed a regional grouping for stability in the Caucasus that would include Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"About a month ago, we all saw how conflicts that have remained unresolved threatened regional stability and peace in the Caucasus," Gul said in reference to the Georgia crisis.

Armenia is the last of Turkey's neighbors with whom Ankara has failed to mend ties since the end of the Cold War. Turkey has gradually improved relations with old foes such as Greece, Bulgaria and Syria.

Improved ties with Armenia are likely to help lift strains on Turkey's relations with other countries that have or plan to formally recognize the massacres as genocide.

In October, a measure that would have declared the Armenian deaths as genocide in the U.S. Congress was stopped after President George W. Bush's administration warned relations with strategic ally Turkey would be damaged.

On the plane, Gul paid tribute to the Armenian president.

"President Sarkisian was brave in taking the opportunity of inviting me to this game," he said.

Turkey closed its border with Armenia in 1993 during a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a Muslim ally of Ankara, in order to pressure Yerevan into ending the conflict. he move has hurt the economy of tiny, landlocked Armenia.

Armenia's bitter ties with Azerbaijan and Turkey have resulted in the tiny country being excluded from strategic energy pipelines that connect Azerbaijan to Turkey via Georgia.

Armenians, supported by numerous scholars, claim an organized genocide was carried out in the waning years of the Ottoman Empire and are pushing for the killings to be recognized as among history's worst atrocities.

Turkey contends the 1.5 million death toll is wildly inflated. It also says the Armenians were killed or displaced in civil unrest during the chaos that surrounded the empire's collapse.

Turkey has called for the establishment of a committee of scholars to study the WWI events in a bid to improve ties, but Armenia has declined to consider this until relations are forged.
